There exists a world nearly identical to our own, with President Obama in office, Vladimir Putin making a mess of Russia as of late, The Royals of England have a couple of babies, and there was only recently a discovery made that would forever change the course of man kind: The X-Gene.

So named for it's randomness in an individual's cellular structure, it plays havok with their minds, bodies and souls as it grants them the capability to be so much more than what they are.

This discovery has manifested itself in a group of young people across the world, from all walks of life. Some people see them as the evolutionary next step, some people see them as Gods, and then there are those who don't understand. Those people don't want to understand, they want something to be afraid of, to rally behind.

But what do these New Mutants see themselves as? And what will they do with their visions?

This roleplay will take place within as realistic a world as possible, and though it takes concepts and ideas from Marvel Comics, there won't be any Avengers, Defenders, blond guys with giant hammers, ect.

In regards to action vs story, I would like to see story and character development to take precedence. After saving the day, they hang out and do whatever it is they do, and learn about one another until the next threat arises.

Also, this will be played out in an episodic format, and with a round table type of discussion where everyone gets a say in the story.

I'd also like to have a co-gm, something this big shouldn't have just one person in charge, but two people bouncing their heads off one another, creating together and being in charge together. I'm not a dictator or a grammar Nazi, i'm a flexible dude.

Fair enough. I'll proceed on that assumption, then.

Assuming I'm approved, I've got a few ideas on hiw to get Sam involved. He could be a bouncer, one of the faceless guys in black t-shirts collecting covers and sorting out the excessively roudy. He could be one of the bartenders. I suppose he could even be one of the partiers, but that seems less likely for a homeless odd-jobber.

Anyway, my character's up. I'll just cross my fingers now, and wait.
 
So the one who are not around will have their characters captured (or worse) if this continues?? :p

D'angelou is what some would call a consummate manwhore. Though this would be a label and he rejects the very notion of ascribing labels to people and things holistically.

D'angelou is an exhibitionist by choice. Even where he's from, few Wakandans actually go without clothing as a choice. It's seen as something of an aberration, similar to people who wear period clothing. His attire is reminiscent of the old wakanda, prior to the acquisition of vibranium and the many advancements that transformed Wakanda into a prominent superpower.

He has a tendency to be honest with his feelings and actions. He can be rather rough in some respects, but never intentionally callous. D'angelou is a classic man in the sense of how he intuits the world, but he is also quite open minded to new ideas and experiences. He is an adventurous, thrill seeking sort.

D'angelou is believed to be the reincarnation of a yoruba deity by the name of Changó. A messiah if you will. Though to say he has a god complex would be inaccurate.

X-Gene Mutation
Adaptive Evolution: The ability to develop adaptations, powers, or skills in response to immediate threats.

Enhanced Condition: The user is at the peak physical and mental condition of their species in that verse can achieve without any supernatural methods and remain that way with little or no maintaining. This entails that they are faster, stronger, more intelligent and overall superior to fellow members of their species without being obviously supernatural.

Magnetic Charisma: also known as Charisma or Animal Magnetism is the ability to hypnotically cause subjects to like the user, trust him, respect him and become doting sycophants that will do anything to please him. This can inspire either like of an innocent sort (to make befriending people easier) or sexual desire, depending on the user’s age and will (and gender). Sometimes the user also exerts subliminal power by saying certain words (“like”, “love”, “want”, “desire”, “please”, “pleasure”, “happy”, more sexual terms and the like).

Other/Bio The individual known as D'angelou Okunjwo is a mutant hailing from Wakanda, or rather the bordering outskirts. He was banished from Wakanda at an early age due to the belief that his powers would pose a threat to the throne. For the most part, he was raised amongst the wild. Learning and adapting to the threats of the jungle. Due to his unique mutant abilities, he learned to thrive in his surroundings much quicker than most. Age the age of 16, growing bored with the wilderness, he set out to explore the rest of the vast developed world.
