Cerise had a long day and it was only three in the afternoon! She'd had a small party at her recording studio to celebrate her hit single reaching the top of the charts. She wasn't so popular yet that she couldn't go out into public areas though. She was up and coming the one who's song pops on and everyone goes "Oh I love that song!" But no one really knew what she looked like, yet. Soon she would be a number one star. Total musical world domination. No one would understand it either because Cerise wasn't using normal methods.

Anyone who listened to her music got a little more addicted each time. Anyone who saw her sing live in public would become addicted and fawn over her. It took a lot of her strength but when she sang for her public she weaved magic in each note the way only a siren could. As she got more songs and followers she could even force people to feel emotions as they listened, everyone would know who she was someday.

Small problem was her powers came with a price, they would run out unless she used them as she was supposed to, to lure humans to their deaths. Since about a year ago the city's suicide rates went up. No one would guess that a girl like her would be singing people to death, a lot drowned but she thought that would be too conspicuous so she also had made some jump off roofs or stab themselves, or maybe even others. She tried not to kill too often only when she needed the boost for recording or a concert but none the less she did what she had to.

Cerise was currently sitting at a bench looking into the park, a cup of coffee in her hands as she watched some kids play. She wondered if they would all go home before dark, she knew she wasn't the only thing that went bump in the night around here.

Jason is a private investigator specializing in paranormal cases, preferring those that call for demon slaying. He is muscular, has white hair, icy-blue eyes and is usually seen wearing red trench coats. Jason's arsenal usually consists of firearms and melee weapons, including twin handguns that never need reloading, as well as a variety of swords. He possesses superhuman strength, agility, stamina, reflexes, coordination, and resistance to injury that approaches invulnerability as a result of his half-demon heritage. This gives him the ability to enter a heightened state. In this state, Jason possesses greater strength and speed, his body regenerates at a steady pace, and further abilities with his equipped melee weapon, including flight.

Opening the shutter of the garage he walked inside to see his computer had finally found him a case in a city that was a few hours from his place. He sat down looking at the data on screen, the city showing a very high number of suicides. He decided that that something suspicious was going on and it was worth checking it out. He decide to drive there, since flying with his arsenal would be a problem. A couple of hours after midday he finally reached the town, taking a room in the motel planning on how to figure out what was going on.

Deciding to wait till night fall and then break into the morgue, where he'd inspect the dead bodies and then planned to speak with the families of the deceased the next day as a pastor of the local church. Everything went according to the plan and once he had what he needed he began his research trying identify the creature that did this once he found out that the usual suspects like demonic possession and spirits had no hand in the deaths of these people.

It was about midday when he final found out what was causing people to kill themselves - A Siren. He read about sirens in Greek mythology and how they were responsible for wrecking multiple ships but he had never encountered one before, wondering if her voice would cause a similar effect on him since he was of unusual birth, deciding to play safe Jason got a pair of ear plugs wondering where he should begin his search for the siren. Spending the day crossing checking the phone records of all those people, credit cards, emails and everything he could think of to find a connection between them. All of them looked completely random, so he decided to take a break and go out for drink or two and then come back hoping that a distraction would help him figure out the connection.

Cerise didn't carry weapons, she'd never needed to. She'd learned long ago that her voice could stop even the most enraged demon. Even if she couldn't kill them she could usually leave them hypnotized long enough for her to run away. Her soft whiteish blond hair blew in the breeze and her blue eyes watched the area the area with only a slightly unnatural violet hue to them. For the most part she would almost be another face in the crowd except she seemed to have a confidence that those around her lacked. She made sure to memorize the faces around her before standing and throwing her empty coffee cup into the trash can.

She stretched her hands above her head before smoothing down her pink skirt. Her off the shoulder jacket had a matching stripe of pink that went well with her boots and the metal decorations that joined them on her legs. She looked like a model, probably for a reason seeing as the party had a photo shoot. She'd have to stop wearing this outfit soon because it would be on her in the art for her new c.d. coming out. She bit her lip and looked around one more time. Him she decided. She saw a man through the crowd, middle aged, alone, and yelling at a vendor. He would die tonight and no one would wonder why. She memorized every aspect about the man. Cerise was special, most sirens chose to live in the water and lure anyone around them to death. Cerise couldn't do that or a whole town would die, she picked a person, and would picture singing to them from the comfort of her own home. Perfect crime down to an art.

She continued people watching for a little while when she saw someone strange appear. White hair, red trench coat, wasn't he hot in this weather? She continued to stare at him, standing beside a park bench. He seemed to move with purpose unlike other people, and seemed even more out of place than her on the busy streets. She continued watching him as he came closer to her, waiting for him to walk past she wondered the type of person he was, he seemed very interesting... She almost had an urge to step in front of him, though she was sure he'd notice her staring eventually, she doubted much got past his notice.

Jason opened the door, locking it behind him as he made way to the center hoping to find a place where he'd be able to drink in peace without the loud music which was invariably present in the bars. Noticing everyone who walked past him, making a mental note of the faces, what they wore, their reaction at him and everything else he could see. By now he got used to people staring at him and it didn't bother him any more, and he kinda liked the attention he got even if it was due to his odd dress which most people considered too bright for daily usage. His arsenal of weapons was safely placed in the walls of his motel room so he didn't mind being looked at, a self satisfied smirk playing on his lips.

As he walked past the park, from the corner of his eye he noticed someone who was just as oddly dressed as him staring at him. Jason turned his head sideways to take a better look at that person noticing her pink skirt, a matching jacket, a black collar he found really weird, her white hair, unforgettable purplish blue eyes before turning his head away and back onto the footpath. He stopped at the vendor at the corner taking a beagle, paying for it before asking the vendor for a nice bar which wouldn't be full of people and where he'd be able to take a couple of drinks in peace.

Making a mental inscription of the directions to the place he resumed his march, munching on the beagle, in the direction the vendor pointed until he arrived at the place. It was quite empty with most of the customers being quite older compared to him. He sat down at the counter and noticed someone from the park, the man who was yelling at the beagle vendor earlier sitting in the far corner of the room. He called out for the bar tender asking him for a beer, looking around, eyeing everyone present in that room.

She asked the vendor where the man had gone. Cerise had wanted to know more about him, he was so interesting. She'd seen a lot of weird people sure, but she had never seen someone like him. She followed the vendor's instructions and stood outside the bar chewing on her lip. She was not dressed for such a place, he would know she was following him if she stepped inside for sure, not only that every one would be staring at her, from her pink skirt to her high heels, this would not be a place she was welcomed. Another time then, she would find him, maybe she would come back later tonight wearing something different but for now she had a mission.

Cerise hailed a cab and went home, her house was nice, a two story with a pool, nothing that screamed "A future star lives here!" It was simple and nice, like a normal human family would live inside. She went up to her room and shut her door, she started off with a low whistle sitting on her bed with her eyes shut. She focused on the man, his looks, his attitude, everything down to his height. When she was sure she had him, and hadn't mixed others attributes into his features she began to sing. No one would hear her in her house, no one could trace her voice. It was a skill she'd honed something that other sirens couldn't do, not that she'd ever met another siren since she lived on land but...

The man's eyes would shut, longer than a blink but sooner than if he was dozing off. He would stand, listening to a tune that no one else could hear, a sweet voice calling to him, begging him, she needed his help, and he wouldn't say no. The man would start to stumble out of the bar, eyes slightly glazed over as he continued his walk down the street. Cerise knew he had no weapons on him and that made her job a bit harder. The man wanted to help her though, she made him, as he walked down the street and found the vendor again. The man would take the knife the vendor used to cut the bagels and would jerk it up to his own throat, cutting it open.
