Bridgets Story begins...

It had been a week since a course of action had been decided on, the city council had decreed that to end the plague of droughts, gales, forest fires and floods which seemed to leave no useable water behind, a sacrifice would be needed. Supposedly there was a cave that had opened up in a recent earthquake that contained some sort of portal, a shimmering wall of iridescent light, about an hour’s horse ride away from the city. There had been a request from the council members, they needed a young woman, who would be revered and worshipped as none before her ever had been if she answered the city’s plea for aid and gave herself up for the greater good.

The politicians all their arrogance assumed that the peasants would clamor at the chance for such an honour, but the fancy words had fooled nobody. None took it seriously, they could see it for what it truly was - a death sentence and a nearly futile hope. So what was the solution? Unfortunately for a young street rat named Bridget, she was the solution.

It had been a simple grab and dash job, someone to distract the fruit stall owner, and all Bridget had to do was stuff as much into a sack as she could in the few moments before someone cried out, then make a run for freedom with her ill-gotten gains. It had been sheer back luck that a patrol of guards had happened to come around a corner just as she started to flee in that direction, the poor girl had dashed headlong into them and had been captured with consummate ease. With nobody to pay the fines for her release, and the jails already overcrowded, the council decided that nobody would miss a dirty little thief – she would be the perfect sacrifice.

They had cleaned her, or rather locked her in a room until she cleaned herself, and then burned her old rag-like clothes before giving her a more suitable outfit to wear. It was a very well made green dress embroidered with golden leaves, the hem of which was tailored to fall just half an inch short of the floor without being too bulky, though the neckline did plunge low enough to show a fair amount of bosom. Her undergarments had been replaced with soft white silken ones, and her boots were good sturdy leather of a rich brown, climbing all the way to her knees.

After the ride to the cave, which despite the fine clothes had been undertaken with Bridget locked in manacles to prevent her from trying to run away, she’d been given an almost perfunctory blessing by a the high-priest, and had been presented with a bag containing exactly one-hundred gold coins, as a further offering in case her life alone was not worthy, though nobody had the decency to admit that was the case. Ironic it was, a street rat who in her final hours before death was dressed fit to make a noblewoman jealous, and rich enough to live for a year in luxury.

With that all done, the shackled were taken off, just as one of the guards gave the girl a fairly unceremonious shove towards that shimmering purple haze of light, clearly glad to see her gone. The world seemed to turn white, a tingling warmth spreading all through the thief’s body, before the world simply turned black as consciousness fled the girl.

Hours pass, but eventually Bridget slowly regains consciousness.

As the thief, or perhaps now former thief, came to her senses properly she found herself out in the warm breeze of an open plain, shin-high lush green grasses interspersed with small colourful flowers, clusters of trees and the occasional bush decorating the landscape. In a few places the plants seem to rustle, likely small animals moving about, as well there also seem to be a few herds of wild cows. Birdsong was audible, if faint, given the small number of trees in which to perch.

To the north the borders of a forest are visible perhaps a two miles away, whereas the view to the east is cut off by hills, though over the tops of those the peaks of mountains are visible. To the west the plains seem to stretch for miles upon miles, as far as the eye could see, and finally to the south there was a stream that supplies water to the area, beyond that a thin haze of smoke drifting into the air – a distant village?

Perhaps most importantly though, she was alive. Whatever ‘sacrifice’ those council members had planned had clearly failed. Then again, this certainly wasn’t any place that the girl had been before, and there was no sign of how she had actually arrived. What would she do now though? It wasn’t as if she could simply wait on this grassy plain forever, she had no food or water for a start, and from the sun it seemed like it was already mid-afternoon, she would probably need somewhere to actually sleep.

RE: Bridget's exile

It hadn't been the first time she'd gotten caught. Usually it wasn't too big of a deal, but now it seemed that the street rat's age had come to a point where her crimes were taken more seriously. She remembered having been given worth more that she'd ever possessed, and the priest saying some mumbo-jumbo. Probably that church stuff she didn't know about. After that was a total blur, or a total blank, as she'd gone from purple ephemeral swirly thing... To being face-down in the dirt, grass obscuring most of her vision.

Picking herself up, she didn't even bother to dust off. With a little groan, she tried to gather her senses and figure out where she was. Apparently the middle of nowhere. Hills, woods, and not a person to be seen. As a guttersnipe, she wasn't used to being outside the city walls. So, naturally, she was drawn toward the column of faint smoke in the distance. That meant people, which meant something to filch and survive off of. As luck had it, there was a river in that direction too, so she wouldn't be lacking for water, thankfully.

At first, her steps were unsteady, as she shielded her eyes from the light. Clear blue skies were not a normal thing for her. But she made her way toward the river, intending to follow alongside it. Wherever she was now, the water was likely her best shot at survival.

RE: Bridget's exile

Instinct apparently ran deep within Bridget, the type of person who would normally wear what she had on right now would have been fervently bruising at the bits of grass that clung to it in places, but of course a street rat had no time for such worries. Besides that, she had a pouch full of gold was fastened to her hip, and still her first thought upon the thought of a town was that there might be someone to steal from, rather than to trade with.

Whatever her reasons, none of the animals on this grassy expanse of ground seemed interested that she was there, other than perhaps some of the smaller creatures scuttling away as she grew close. As she walked, the grass grew a little thinner and shorter, and as Bridget drew closer to the stream the sound of it bubbling and gurgling over rocks would start to fill the air. Closer still and she would see that the stream perhaps as wide across as she was tall and only a few feet deep at most – not worth of the term ‘river’ at all., in any event, the water was flowing quickly and looked clear and clean, perfect for drinking or washing.

After about fifteen minutes of walking, the thief would notice something strange. She clearly hadn’t been walking for all that long, but it seemed that she’d covered seven or eight miles judging by how the landscape had changed behind her, about half the distance to the smoke. That was impossible of course, unless she’d somehow started walking at the speed of a galloping horse. Something about this place didn’t feel quite right, as if time and distance didn’t match up properly. Maybe someone at the town could explain.

RE: Bridget's exile

The river was smaller than she'd thought. Though it was still more that enough for her purposes. But then again, she'd never really been to a river before, so her sense of scale, and the proper synonyms eluded her. Kneeling over, she took a chance to drink some, finding the water to taste odd. It was lacking a certain tinge of flavor she was used to. But beggars could't be choosers, and she'd just have to put up with the not quite normal water. So used to the grime of the city, she didn't even notice that the river water was quite clean, and tasted the way water should taste.

As she walked along, she did notice she was making rather good time. Which was kind of odd. It took way less time than she thought to get so far as she had. Heck, the walk through the slums was longer. Maybe it was just a distortion of things because she wasn't used to the open world. Yeah, just her mind playing tricks on her.

But seeing that she was going to be at the village soon, she needed to come up with a plan. Being alone was risky, but panhandling wasn't really a good way to get by, as relatively safe as it was. Snatch and run relied on distractions, of which there'd be few, looking at the village. It was then that her mind decided to remember she had a pouch of gold on her person. And fancy clothes. Con game! That was the ticket... Yup, definitely not acting like a normal person and just trying to establish a normal life...

Deciding on the con game, she started to pick and wipe off the grass on her dress. Con games worked better when she was clean, after all. So once she'd brushed off the dress as well as she could, she stripped it off, along with her undergarments. It wasn't like there was anyone around... And slipped herself into the river, shivering at the cold water.

RE: Bridget's exile

The water was indeed very refreshing, both from the drink and from the coolness against her skin on this warm day. At the place she had chosen, the water was deep enough to come up to her neck if Bridget sat down, and the few small fish that shared her bath with her all rushed away from the splashes she made, making it seem that indeed the thief truly was alone, unfortunately, that illusion did not last for long.

The path was only a beaten down dirt track, and so to either side of it even though the grass was thinner here, there were plenty of bushes and shrubs by the side of the road. After a little while in the stream, one of those bushes rustled loudly, and then a moment later something quick and green darted out. The sound of a gleeful laugh filled the air, as a human shaped creature ran towards Bridget’s pile of clothing and possessions, and grabbed the dress.

Now that it had stopped moving it was easy to see, but that didn’t make it any easier to believe. Standing in the middle of the road was what looked almost like a woman, except for the fact that she was about three and a half feet tall, had deep green skin, and pointed ears that were pierced in more than a few places. For her size she was definitely quite busty, and by the looks of it she was quite curvy at the hips and rear as well – the animal fur bra and loincloth that she wore showed enough skin to give that away.

It almost sounded like a goblin, from the stories that the older kids on the street told to the younger ones to scare them at night. Of course everyone knew those were made up… right? There was little time to wonder about that as the creature laughed again. “Think it’ll suit me?” bit too big, maybe I’ll have to rip it and have someone sew a smaller version for me”. Smirking, clearly having been watching Bridget from the bushes and knowing she was naked under the water, the creature asked “Unless, you want to come over here and take it back?”

RE: Bridget's exile

Bridget picked up the sound before the goblin ran through the area, and stole the dress. Something that Bridget was reluctant to give up, to say the least. While the appearance stunned the girl for a moment, the realization that she'd have no other clothing, and that the Goblin could steal the gold too, meant that all modest was going out the window. Especially with the taunting. Even though cooler heads would probably realize that that was probably the goblin's very aim given her last words.

Now, Bridget was no stranger to a tussle, and had gotten involved in a good few street fights. And unrestrained by modesty thanks to a dose of indignant anger, she sprung out of the stream, cocking her right fist back. Key number one was to get an advantage over the opponent. While she had size on the green little devil, Bridget wasn't used to having size be in her favor. So when she threw her punch, she aimed right for the bridge of the nose. It always made the guards and merchants tear up, and it always made a good option for escaping a fight.

The goblin was quite clearly delighted when the young woman burst out of the stream in a shower of water droplets, the sun now glistening off the girls' naked body. This was what she had wanted, to goad the human girl out of the stream in order to get a better look at her naked body. "Aint never seen someone like you before" she teased "but I'm enjoying the show so far". Her amusement cut off as she saw that Bridget was about to punch her, and she only had time to quickly duck to the side a little so that instead of being caught full in the face, the blow caught her across the cheek. (12 damage)

Stumbling back, the little creature dropped the dress to the ground, clearly more interested in self preservation and having both of her hands free than clinging to her prize. She looked more annoyed and perhaps a little stunned rather than angry, though she seemed to shrug it off quickly enough and give another peal of laugher. "That was uncalled for" she chastised playfully, before rushing forwards with her own fist raised. At the last moment she lowered it harmlessly, the attack having been a feint as instead she leaned forwards and pressed a kiss to Bridget's exposed sex, something made easy by the large difference in height.

"See, now wouldn't that be much more fun that fighting?" she teased, noticing that her little trick seemed to have flustered Bridget a little. (+9 lust). She showed no sign of giving up despite her words, stepping back out of immediate reach and taking a combat stance.

RE: Bridget's exile

"Like I'd let you steal my stuff, you little knife-eared sewer rat!" Bridget growled as the goblin dodged the punch enough to merely take a solid hit to the cheek. Hunched over slightly, she put up her dukes, ready for her next strike when the strange creature made a rush for her, apparently to return the favor. Confidently dodging to the side, she didn't realize the fake until it was too late. The goblin's head plowed right into her hips, in what had to be the dumbest headbutt ever attempted... Until Bridget was shocked to find that the thing had instead planted a kiss upon her nethers, which was most certainly unwelcome, awkward, and not at all proper fighting.

Pulling herself away, her arms flailed a moment in confusion and surprise. "The hell are you doing? Get away from me you freak!" She angrily called out, taking the step forward needed, right leg tucked back. And she lashed out, not really so much a fighting technique as mere trying to kick the goblin as far as one could possibly do with a big wound-up punting.

The outburst that Bridget gave just seemed to amuse the goblin further, the insults just bouncing right off her thick skin as she quite clearly enjoyed watching this naked form in front of her. This time she didn't let it distract her fully though, and so when the human's leg came back for what was quite obviously going to be a kick, she stepped to the side in an attempt to avoid it. It worked to some extent, the blow catching her on her arm instead of fully on her body. Still, the impact was enough to make her let out a grunt of pain and stumble back a few steps. (6 damage)

"Seems like you need a little help getting in the mood" the green skinned creature said dryly, the amusement having left her voice and now having been replaced with determination. She reached down and unfastened a pouch on her loincloth and pulled out a bottle containing a pink, viscous fluid. As she yanked out the cork, the air seemed to react with the stuff and a pink miasma started to gush out - which the goblin directed towards Bridget by blowing over the lip of the bottle. Some of it came back in her direction due to the wind, but not before Bridget had breathed some of it in too.

The human girl would feel her body heat up with desire as the pink smog cleared, revealing that the goblin had replaced the bottle in her pouch and was once again ready to fight, though her own cheeks were a little flushed now as well. What was that, some kind of lust-potion? Whatever it was, the effects didn't seem to have finished... what would happen next? (+12 lust for Bridget, +6 for the goblin).

RE: Bridget's exile

She gasped as she saw the mist coming for her. What kind of foul sorcery was it? Whatever it was, she tried not to touch it, but, it still managed to envelop her. Everything felt way warmer now, despite her nudity and dip in the cold stream. As she tried futilely to swat away the mist like it was a fly, she shook her head to get the cobwebs out. Everything felt so... Wet...

Rushing forward, she knew she had to end things quick. Running forward, she went for a full body tackle. She had the size advantage. If she could pin the goblin down, she'd be able to easily overpower her and win the fight. Yeah. She'd pin that goblin down, right between her thighs. Keep her leverage right above the shoulders. Keep her down.

The lingering effects of the potion still burned within Bridget's body, and so as she launched her tackle her own mind seemed to get the messages confused. Her body slammed into the little green creature, and she managed to knock the wind out of the goblin with an knee to the stomach (15 damage), however as she got herself into place with the diminutive form beneath her now trapped between her thighs - the potion twisted at her thoughts. She could do all sorts of fun things with the little green woman between her legs like this, and it seems that her captive knew it too... (+6 lust for Bridget, +3 for the goblin)

Recovering herself a little, the goblin took advantage of that momentary distraction and leaned forwards as much as she could, which given that she was between Bridget's thighs, meant that she once again had her mouth where she could reach the human's nethers. This time it was a broad sweep of her tongue that touched the brunette's sex (+5 lust), and with that further distraction, the goblin was able to push Bridget away and get back on her own feet.

She was quite shaky now though, clearly on the very edge of being beaten, and so she tried one last time to end things her own way. "I can tell you want me, your pussy was soaking wet under my tongue" she teased, panting a little. "Why not just end this now, and we can both have what we want?"

RE: Bridget's exile

Getting the creature trapped, Bridget gave a smirk. It was over now. In mere moments, she'd be grinding herself right into that thing's smug lips and riding out sweet, sweet release. No! She shook her head to clear the cobwebs. She wasn't riding for pleasure. She was riding for victory! No! Not riding. Just fighting. Fighting. For stuff. Precious, expensive, stuff. Because stuff meant survival. That was how the streets worked, she always needed to be getting stuff, be it food, water, goods, or respect.

All she needed was one good punch and... A wet, slimy, warm tingling feeling brushed over her nethers. A sensation that was completely unknown to the young girl who spent more time thinking about where her next meal would come from, rather than lovers and the throes of passion. So inexperienced that the thoughts that were coming to her head were confusing and invoked a bit of fear.

Stumbling to her feet, she shook her head to clear the cobwebs again, hearing the goblin speak. "I ain... I ain't giving you anything, you filchin' sewer demon." Bridget mustered up her best growl, cocking her fist back for one last good punch. It was probably all she had in her too.

RE: Bridget's exile

Everything else that Bridget had said seemed not to bother the goblin, but as she was refused for the last time her face turned from that flirty smile to a look of grim determination. It was only when the word demon passed the brunette's lips that the expression on that green-skinned face truly turned to anger, and with a yell of "I aint no demon!" the goblin charged at Bridget.

Fortunately the human, that just made the creature all the easier to hit, since in her anger she forgot all about actually trying to defend herself, and so with a resounding thump the human's fist took the diminutive green creature right in the forehead. (12 damage) Thoroughly dazed, the goblin fell back and landed on its padded bottom thoroughly defeated. The potion that affected Bridget flared once more inside her (+3 lust) and then seemed to burn out, leaving her thoroughly aroused, but not so distracted that she couldn't ignore it.

"I'm... not... a demon" the creature protested through panting breaths, exhausted and bruised, not that they showed up against her green skin. "You seem more like... one than me. Weird pink skin... no fur... and violent. I was only having a bit of fun".

RE: Bridget's exile

Gasping and trying to catch her breath, she fumbled about for the dress a moment before snatching it up off the ground and hastily slinging it over her nude form. It brought a harsh shiver over her whole body, feeling the fabric brush over her form, especially over her perky nipples, where the sensation made her knees threaten to buckle from underneath her. She was way too sensitive right now. That poison had really done a number on her. Of course, had she remembered to put on her undergarments first, that probably wouldn't have been so unusual a feeling.

"Me? You're the one who's only up to my hip. And that pink in my skin is because of the cold water, thank you very much!" That and the arousal. She was usually pretty pale, but had definitely taken on a rosy tint through the fight. "Sneaking, stealing, poisoning me. Doing weird things to me. You call all that fun? You're loony!" Bridget accused, picking up her sack of gold and soon slipping her feet into her boots, only too late to see her silk underwear laying beside them, indignantly picking them up and stuffing them in the coin pouch. A little too flustered for rational thought.

RE: Bridget's exile

"I didn't steal nothing" the goblin protested "if I wanted the dress I'd have run away the moment I had my hands on it. All I wanted was for ya to get out of stream so I could look at ya naked" she corrected unabashedly, as if her more perverse motives were any better. "You were the one what started getting all punchy, and I didn't poison ya, it's a lust potion". She threw up her arms and made a 'Bah' noise to say that she was finished arguing when clearly she was right, as if Bridget was simply being too stupid to see that.

"Look, that potion seems like it's worn off, it doesn't do no harm, just makes you a bit... friendlier". She unfastened her pouch again, and tossed the bottle over to the human girl, as if it were a gift given in a gesture of good faith... which in truth it was, since the goblin wanted to be able to leave without acquiring any more bruises. "That feeling ya got... all warm and tingly... that'll go away if you pleasure yourself" with a grin the goblin added "or if ya get someone to do it for ya, which is what I wanted in the first place".

RE: Bridget's exile

Bridget listened to the goblin's explanation, but looked at her like the little thing was completely insane. That didn't stop the goblin from throwing her the potion, which Bridget caught shakily. Though Bridget did get some insight into the way things worked around these parts, she was still not exactly inviting unusual creatures to tour her intimates. Did the sacrifice throw her into hell? Or something? Wasn't exactly the lake of fire and torture she'd heard about. Or maybe it was some really tripped out dream, like that time she ate those mushrooms growing in the alleyway near the apothecary's place. With one final huff, still very much in a human state of mind, she shook her head. "I don't know what you're gettin' on about, you little... Whatever you are." A slight sigh, and she added, more to herself, "And this is why we don't go out of the cities..."

With that she started to walk away, determined to make it to that village. As she made her way toward it, she could feel her thighs rubbing together, a slick feeling between them as she felt like she was burning up, and ache in her hips that cried out to be satisfied. The darn thing was right, and she needed to take care of it soon. No way she'd be able to keep going in the state she was in. Since there was a patch of trees and bushes somewhat nearby, she figured it'd be a good place to do the deed. Much better visual cover there. Once she got in, she found a nice little spot formed by low-hanging branches and bushes. Plenty of privacy. Desperately by that point, she back up against the tree, lifting her dress and stuffing her hand betwixt her thighs. The rest of her had dried off, but she could feel slickness all over as the fingers instinctively found their way to her nether lips. Her index and ring fingers spread her lips just enough that her middle finger could rub vigorously along her clit and her needy entrance, toes curling as he breath turned to a hushed, ragged, and needy panting.

RE: Bridget's exile

Finally seeming to have recovered a little, the goblin actually got to her feet and even though she was a little unsteady, she knew that she wasn't wanted here. Leaving quickly seemed to be her plan, and she ignored what Bridget was muttering and loped off, or game as close to loping as her short legs allowed, into the brush by the side of the road once again. Just before she vanished from sight she yelled over her sister "I'm gonna tell my tribe about you, don't think that this si the last time you're gonna see a goblin". With that she was truly gone, leaving the human girl to walk alone towards the town once again, with only her own thoughts and overly sensitive body for company.

Once again the landscape seemed to slip by in an uncharacteristically quick fashion despite the rather slow pace that the girl was now keeping up in her distracted state, but even so, there was still a mile or two left before she would reach the place she had in mind. It was just visible over the last hill now, the people were still far too small and distant to make out, but it looked like a collection of about ten or so houses grouped together in a rather haphazard fashion, with a handful more scattered around the nearby area with what looked like a few farms. Clearly this was a relatively small village.

Inside that little thicket was as good a place as any for a quick break to get ready, and on this stop it seemed that Bridget did actually have a deal of privacy. The attention that she gave to her body went uninterrupted, and despite her panting and ragged breath, it was quite clear after a while that she was only going to get any relief from this lust that seemed to have taken hold of her after reaching a climax.

RE: Bridget's exile

Goblin? That's what the thing was? Bridget had mostly ignored the warning though. Threats were a common thing in the street rat life, and it didn't usually end in anything other than in what would be a normal scuffle anyway. No, the important thing was getting going.

When she had made it to her cover and started getting the sweet relief that her hand could provide, she found herself slinking down a bit so she could sit and really get into the deed. Her panting grew a bit louder as she closed her eyes, forgetting the potential dangers in a lusty haze. That middle finger dipped inside her folds, reaching up inside herself to stir. It'd never felt so good before. Never before has she needed it so badly either. Not one for wasting time, her index finger joined the other into her tight virginity. While lacking experience, she wouldn't have to deal as much with the pain of penetration, thanks to a little earlier experimentation back when she was still in the city. What she wouldn't give for a carrot at this point. Pumping her fingers in and out, she didn't explore herself so much as whip herself into a frenzy, stealthy pants turning into quite moans and whimpers. Her hips bucked against her hand until she added her finishing touch, her thumb grinding against her sensitive numb while she reached deep, fingers pressing firmly from inside as Bridget let out a short cry, remembering to silence herself part way through as the muscles in her waist all tightened and brought herself to her much needed climax.

It was a good few minutes before she could even open her eyes, basking in the calm warmth of a good moment with herself. It felt so much nicer than before. So much so that she decided to just relax, and take an unnecessary break before getting up to go. Once she had her head back out of the clouds, she stood up and brushed off the grass and dirt from her dress again, careful not to get her juices on the dress. Walking back out, she got to the stream and cleaned off her hand before continuing on her way to that village. It was only a small place, but people were people, and protection from the goblins.

RE: Bridget's exile

The relief that would have come with that orgasm was practically palpable, as if the world has lost some of its urgency and things were slipping back into their natural places. It seemed that luck and privacy were also still on the thief's side, since whatever normally lived in this hollowed out area amongst the trees made no sign of coming back any time soon. Still, after that rest of hers it was a good idea to move on, since sooner or later whatever called this little hollow home would no doubt return, and might not be too pleased to find a human girl smelling of sex lounging in its den.

Once she was clean again, and now with her mind much clearer, the walking seemed to go on more easily at a better pace than before, with only Bridget's own mind able to judge whether what she'd thought about whilst pleasuring herself was right or wrong. The village started to come into view, and it seemed that the four buildings around the village square (if indeed the small area with only a little open space and a fountain could be called a square) were shops of various sorts. One sign looked like an anvil likely a to blacksmith, another like a pestle and mortar which was likely to be a medicine store, another had a spool of thread and was probably a tailor, and the last had an odd assortment of items, everything from a turnip to a spade - the general store.

Bridget was about two-hundred feet away now, though nobody was outside in this inner-village area, and so she hadn't been seen yet. Something happened which might have given her pause though. The distance was too far to see completely clearly, but something came out of one of the shops, giving a cheerful wave behind it as it walked away. It had two legs and stood as tall as a human should, but the shape of the face seemed... wrong. Was that a snout, or a muzzle? As if that wasn't enough the skin also seemed to be dark grey, no wait, that wasn't skin, it looked more like... fur.

RE: Bridget's exile

Relief was so sweet. And the village was coming up quickly. It was all working out well enough so far. Aside from the tussle, of course. But as she got close to the village, she began to take stock of what she was going up against, so to speak. Four small shops, a little fountain. Looks like it was probably just a small farming hamlet. The scant shops seemed to indicate it'd be a very mom-and-pop kind of place, with everything passed down from generation to generation.

Though as she got closer, she saw a person leave a shop. Sharp-eyed, she was able to make out a few details. It seemed normal enough until she caught the sight of what looked maybe like a dog's muzzle. And fur. Maybe a local hunter wearing a wolf-skin cloak? She'd seen it a few times, usually attached to large, boisterous, and hairy drunks near taverns and gambling halls. Certainly the pelts would be warm though. But she needed to schmooze with the people a bit, so she arranged herself up as best she could, straightening out her dress and hair. Then, it was time to put on her best "meek girl" look and wander in, acting not unlike a defenseless lady going down the wrong dark alleyway. First step was to gather sympathy to get in the someone's good graces.

RE: Bridget's exile

Before Bridget arrived, that person crossing over the village square had headed into one of the nearby homes and out of sight. As she approached giving her best ‘innocent look’ there was actually nobody to see her act at first. After a moment though a woman bustled out of the blacksmith’s store holding a knife up and shouting “Hey Lucina, you forgot the knife I sharpened…”

Her words cut off as she noticed Bridget standing in the road, and honestly she looked quite shocked. Her own features explained what the thief had seen though. While her body was that of a well-toned human with fairly thick arms and a moderately impressive bust, the woman had a fox’s muzzle and her entire body from head to foot, actually more accurately head to paw, was covered in a short crop of reddish fur. Most of her was covered by the trousers and shirt she wore, but it was a safe bet that the fur covered her entire body. Behind her a bushy fox tail had been swinging, though it had gone stiff now in what was possibly either shock or panic.

“Uhm, greetings traveller” she said a little shakily “Just passing through are you?” Subconsciously something seemed to trigger a memory in Bridget, something that the goblin had said about looking like a demon… had the little green creep actually been right about that instead of just trying to be insulting?

RE: Bridget's exile

Poor Bridget was in for a shock as well, as a woman came out with a knife. Though the shout for the previous customer explained what was going on nicely. While the shock of seeing a knife was disarmed, that let Bridget notice the other shocking thing. The lycanthrope walking about in board daylight. So there were two confused and stunned people looking at one another, both quite alien to one another.

Finally, the fox-themed person managed to speak out, still quite nervous. She stammered a bit, trying to figure out what to say. "Uh yes... I was separated from my friends. I need to find where I am so I can get back home. Um... Ma'am." Bridget didn't want to offend. Clearly she was in a very different place. Getting back to humanity was now priority number one. Heck, even the residents didn't seem to know what humanity was. It was all so very strange.

RE: Bridget's exile

The woman seemed to visibly relax when Bridget spoke, apparently these universally feared and despised demons did not make a habit of calling people "Ma'am" or anything else so polite. Noticing suddenly that she was still holding the knife up, the fox-woman sheepishly lowered it and took on a far more conversational tone. "Lost huh? Well you're in Vayrun, that's what this village is called" she pointed further south, and following her finger the stream that Bridget had been following this far met up with several others, widening off into a true river in the distance.

"That's the river Vay, where the village gets it name y'know? Anyway, you follow that south through the riverlands and you'll get to Byran, the big city around here. That's about an hours walk away, maybe three if you haven't been there before". There it was again, another implication that time and distance didn't quite work right in this place... how could somewhere be both one hour or three hours away at the same time?

With a shrug the fox woman admitted "That's about all I know of the surrounding area truth be told, I was born and raised here, barely ever left. If you want more directions that you'd best talk to Tabitha, she's the mayor or as close as we got to one in this place right now, the old girl's going a bit senile mind you though, if you're not careful you'll be hearing stories about what her great grandmother used to eat for supper before the breaking". As an afterthought she added "My names Alder by the way, nice to meet you".

RE: Bridget's exile

It seemed the situation had disarmed itself quickly enough, and the knife was put away. While the fox woman had managed to get her composure, Bridget was still very much confused and socially awkward. But Alder pointed out all the features in the area, along with the curious indication of one to thee hours of travel to the next town. "What do you mean, one hour, but three if I've never been there? Are there really that many shortcuts?" Bridget asked, not sure what was up with walking around in the place. "I mean... I'm not used to traveling alone, so I've always been quite... Distracted. Hard to notice these things..."

"But thank you for telling me of Tabitha... I'll speak to her. I-If you'd be so kind as to at least point me in the right direction." She poised, contemplating the situation. And what was this 'breaking' that Alder spoke of? "Oh um... My name is Bridget. It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Alder."

RE: Bridget's exile

At the question about travelling the woman gave Bridget something of an odd look, as if to question how much sense the girl actually had in her head. She quickly wiped it off her face though, apparently not wanting to appear rude. "Well you know, focus travelling, one of the world spells the caused the breaking. You fix the place you want to go in your mind, then as you travel distance will compress and you get there far faster than you would if you just walked normally. It works better if you've been to the place before, because you have a better image of it in your mind to focus on".

Well, that certainly explained how Bridget had seemed to walk fifteen miles in an hour and a half, even with breaks and that little encounter with her goblin friend. Apparently she'd be able to do it even faster now that she'd been here once already.

The woman shook her head at her own lack of sense then apologized "Sorry sweetie, I forget sometimes that outsiders don't know where people live already, there's only about forty of us here, so everyone knows everybody else. Tabs lives in that house over there" she pointed to one a on the opposite side of the square, the only one with a slate roof rather than thatch. "She'll be gone for another half hour or so though, she just went out to check on her farm".
