A Sparkling Zombie's Search (M//)

Hi there! I'm A_Sparkling_Zombie, but you can call me Sparkles, Sparkly, or Zombie.

Before we get to the fun bits, let me say a few things.

What you can expect from me:

• 2+ paragraphs per post. My average is somewhere around 3 to 5. I write what I deem is necessary, whether that means 1000 or 250 words. I haven't yet roleplayed on this site, but here are samples from a different one, for those that like access to that sort of thing.
• A post at least once a week, barring cases where real-life circumstances might get in the way. If I might have trouble responding by then, I'll try to give partners a heads up.
• An easygoing partner. I'm willing to write with anyone regardless of their sex/gender identity, sexual orientation, or what else have you, and I don't care much about posting frequency. If you need to take up to a month to post, no problem. I just ask that you let me know. I also don't care about mirroring post lengths (if that's even a thing on this site), just that posts are at least two paragraphs, and that reasonable effort was made.

My roleplay preferences:

• The main pairing(s) must be M/M.
• I mentioned this above, but partners should be able to write at least two paragraphs per post.
• Threads or PMs are fine.
• No illustrations for depicting a character or setting. I'm not into that. Either real pics or writing out a character's description.
• As far as character appearances, no emos/scenesters, no (overly) effeminate-looking guys or crossdressers, no guys with hair that's long enough to cover the ears (or longer).
• For any high school roleplays, I ask that characters are at least 17. For every other roleplay, characters should be at least 18.
• I can play any bed position. It's pretty insignificant to my character's being, and as such it doesn't necessarily affect their personality. Most of my characters tend to be vanilla to moderately kinky.
• Story over smut. I'm okay with somewhat sexual plots or having a sex scene just for the fun of it, but I get bored if we're writing a bunch of purposeless sex scenes to the point that nothing is progressing.
• I'm pretty big on modern/slice of life. Apocalypses, modern fantasy, and dystopians can be fun too.
• I love romance. Sappy, casual, unrequited, dysfunctional, they can all be fun in their own ways.
• Communication, please! I use the term "partner" for a reason. Let's do some plotting, at least at the start, and I might poke you with questions in the beginning until I get used to you as a writer. Similarly, if something isn't working for you (creative direction, pace is dragging, a hindering continuity or factual error, etc.), please say something! Even if it requires me making an edit, I'll gladly do it if it means the roleplay might stay alive. I'm willing to be adaptable to make sure it's fun for both parties, but partners need to be upfront for that to work. I also prefer that partners let me know if they have no interest in keeping the roleplay going. Even if the notification is a few weeks late, that's better than never. And lastly, OOC chatter does not matter much to me; if you're someone who prefers to keep conversation only on the roleplay, that works for me, or if you're someone who likes to get to know your partner, that's also okay, but I'm pretty slow to warm up to people, so don't take it personally if I don't say a lot initially.

Plots
The End is Nigh
Humanity is on the brink of annihilation by a foe much more powerful than they. Either our characters are recruits who are quickly training to fight this losing war, or maybe they are civilians who are merely trying to survive the horrors, refugees without a camp to which they can go.

Or this could be a roleplay in which humanity is enslaved by the stronger foe. Our characters are part of the uprise that is stirring


When We Meet Again
Back then, Character A and Dom were two peas in a pod, but they were as different as day and night. Character A was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and to a lineage that created many of the town's important figures, his own father having held the position of mayor for several years. With great history came great responsibility: he was expected to maintain the family's reputation.

Dom, on the other hand, was a troublemaker who thirsted for fun and left no stone unturned. While not a tragic upbringing, his family wasn't as well off and were regarded poorly in the community.

The two, despite maybe some odds, were close growing up until something tore them apart in high school. They went their separate ways, seeming to be on track with what life destined for them: Character A followed in his family's footsteps, taking up an important position in the town (mayor, sheriff, church leader, etc.), and Dom served a few years in prison.

It has been several years since they have last seen each other. Dom has recently returned to town, looking to fix a lot of his past mistakes. Will they be able to reconnect? And what of Character A? Is he still trying to uphold the family name, and reputation? Has he done things he regrets, things he would hate to have brought to light?


Stranger
Character A and B met as kids. They grew up on the same street, maybe next door to one another, and so, naturally, they became friends. In middle school, they drifted. Maybe something happened between them, but Character A's rise in popularity was no doubt a contributing factor. He started hanging out with the cool kids, and Character B, a nerd, or a loser, was left behind.

They haven't talked much, if at all, since. Any attempts at conversation would have ended in more arguments. But a few years have passed. They're seniors now, or maybe they both, unknowingly, enrolled in the same college. Fate has put them in a situation in which they have to interact. Will they reconcile their differences and become friends again?


Fandoms
The Hunger Games
Something like what encompasses the first novel/movie: tributes being chosen and sent to fight to the death. It could exactly be The Hunger Games universe, or maybe something very close to it, if we want to put our own creative spins on it.

One idea is that our characters hail from one of the career districts and were rivals growing up. They end up in the Games together. What one doesn't know is that the other has a crush. Will it be confessed before it's too late?

Another is that Character A is from District 1 or 2 and Character B is from District 11 or 12. An unlikely alliance forms between them that brings them closer together.


The Walking Dead
Our characters have to survive against the walkers. Maybe they've known each other since the outbreak, maybe they just met up. Really, there are quite a few options here and I'm open to just about anything. It could be interesting to play as characters who have submerged themselves in a group that would be antagonistic by TWD's standards--not immoral bandits, but a group who use questionable means to survive.

Not looking for canon characters here, just the universe.
