Death......Death is something one simply doesn't forget. So quick, so easy, like blowing out the flame of a candle. When it's one's own life that is extinguished, you don't forget it, you can't forget it. Like a splinter in your mind. Than again, how does one have an appreciation for death when one is born undead? In their case, they had more of an appreciation for death and were one with death. They were a member of the undead, ever living, ever hungry. At one point, their kind was one to be feared, one that ruled over the lands in full view of all. Perhaps the most infamous, and perhaps the only one left from their time was on it's way to the British Museum.

In London, a box was being moved by two men. Within contained a shriveled husk that had once been a creature of flesh and blood.

"Why's this box so heavy? It's just a husk right?" said the one man.

"It's a sarcophagus you sod. It's made of stone and gold, how light do you think it should be?" said the other.

"So there's a mummy in this thing?" asked the first man again.

The box was set down with a grunt as the man recoiled and shook his hand. "Oh bollocks! Bloody splinter" he complained.

The other man shook his head and sighed. "Christ your a blooming whiner you know that? Try not to break anything, I'm gonna take a smoke" he said as he walked out to take a smoke.

The man grumbled and looked to the box. He'd never seen a mummy before. When would he get another chance like this? Grabbing a crowbar, he pried the top off the wooden box and slid the lid off the sarcophagus to reveal the mummified corpse. The corpse was mostly bones now, held in place by leathery skin. The man inspected the corpse finding himself wondering who this man could have been. He tilted his head as he noticed the corpses teeth. They were very shark like, there almost appeared to be 2 sets of teeth. He touched the tooth and recoiled again as he sliced it open.

The bones were thousands of years old and yet the bones teeth were sharp as a scalpel. He cursed gently as he made his way to the first aid kit. As the man bandaged and wrapped his finger, something was happening....something monstrous and bewildering. With the cut of the man's finger, the blood trickled into the corpses gullet. The organs had become shriveled, but he was by no means "dead". The blood caused the organs to grow in size, his skin to begin to regain it's normal nature, his organs becoming fully functional.

The first taste of blood in centuries, like fuel for a jet....a jet lined with shark like teeth and a thirst for blood. The shriveled eyelids began to open, it's eyes growing back and becoming black as ebony. His talons rose to the edge of the sarcophagus, his body rising from his place of rest. His sense were slowly returned, the smell of blood returning to him as his gaze looked to the man who had awakening. With a labored wheeze, he slowly rose from his sarcophagus, his legs slowly regaining the muscle as he began to move for his source of food. It was too late for the man. As he turned, the walking corpse was on top of him, his jaw unhinging as his teeth sunk into the man's jugular as he tore out the man's throat, draining the body of it's source of life. The ears grew long and pointed, his muscles growing in size and his claws growing longer as he feasted on his prey.

With the man completely drained of blood, the monster rose, wiping his mouth of the blood as he took a quick whiff. "What the fuck?" called a voice behind him. With lighting speed, the monster moved and made a quick and deadly swipe. The man's body dropped to it's knees as the batlike creature descended once more. The jaw reattached to it's normal point. His hair grew from his scalp and his fingers returned to normal. His bulging muscles returned to a more natural size, his hair growing long and a chocolate brown. His skin was a light tan, a light facial hair sprouting as the man returned to his natural form. He slowly rolled his neck and shoulders as he felt centuries of stiffness in his muscles. That would soon pass. The man was completely naked, he couldn't have that.

He walked to the corpse and stripped the man of his pants, slipping the pants on to cover his manhood. The pants were a bit loose but they would suffice as he made his way out of the warehouse, he began to wonder....how long had he been asleep, and what had changed since his time of unrest?

The voices were acting up today. They knew something was meant to happen. They were telling her to go to the old museum. Why wouldn't she listen? Even if they were crazy, they were always right. They saved her from certain death, which transformed her into what she was now. No matter how hard she tried to hate them, she ended up loving them and keeping them. They were beneficial. Without them, she wouldn't have been a vampire.

In some way, she was grateful. Elena wasn't originally from London. The dark, gloomy days fitted her. She wasn't the typical vampire save for the blood sucking. She didn't wear the black clothing, nor did she brood. To the average citizen, she was a confident young woman who knew what she was doing. It was true. She has lived for three and a half centuries. The vampire lived through almost everything in world history. Wars, battles, diseases. Her knowledge was superb, as well as her abilities. She was able to blend in with shadows, or simply be one.

"Go this way," one voice yelled in her head.

"No, you dumb twat. The other way, Elena," the other yelled.

"How about the middle?" both giggled at the same time.

With a frustrated sigh, she continued down the path to the museum. They had told her to wait behind the building. Something extraordinary was going to happen. She had been waiting for over an hour before she heard the familiar sounds of flesh ripping, gurgled cries, and the sound of a hungry beast. Her interest peaked as she stood up and peered around the building.

"A man. Not a beast, you dumb fucks," she said to the voices.

Without hesitation, she made herself into a shadow and followed behind him, occasionally nudging him along to see how he would react. Eventually, she stopped and transformed back into her real form.

"A man or a beast. Perhaps both. At least that's what the voices tell me," she said aloud suddenly from behind.

This man was interesting. Elena wasn't sure what to call him, but he obviously did not where he was going. Unsure of how he was going to react, she tilted her head to one side as she awaited his answer.

The half naked man was blinded by the light of the night as he shielded his eyes. What sort of magic was this? The cool air suggested that it was either night or he was now in a colder region than where he'd come from. As his eyes began to finally adjust, he was greeted by the sight of buildings that rose to the skies and metal trees that sprouted from stone and emitted a rather blinding light. His senses were bombarded by the sights and sounds of this strange new world. What manner of hell was this? How could trees of metal sprout from the ground, how could they burn with the intensity of a fire?

He looked around to see people dressed in strange clothing, boxes on wheels parked on either side of him. For the first time in a long time, the man found himself a bit afraid. The world he knew had been familiar, he understood it. He'd been away for gods knew how long and had been awaken in a time he didn't understand, a time he had no earthly business being a part of. He jumped as a harsh noise came from behind him. It was almost like the honk of a goose or a swan. He turned to find himself blinded once more. He shielded his eyes and slowly lowered them as he found it was one of the boxes on wheels. It was growling and emitted a rather harsh smell of something burning. What sort of animal was moving it? For that matter, where was this beast?

"Get out of the road you tosser!" called a voice from behind the light.

The half naked man seemed confused, very very confused as a man climbed out of the box, approaching him. He grew only more confused as a woman from behind him babbled about men, beasts, and voices in her head.

"Did you hear me you sod? Get out of the bloody road" he said as he approached.

The man focused on the box more than the shouting man, fascinated by the contraption. It appeared to be some sort of transportation, something that didn't require horses to pull. But what was pulling it?

"I'm not going to tell you again...." said the man with a rather rude shove. "Get out of the road" the man demanded.

The half naked man looked to the offender with a fiery look. "Don't touch me again" he growled. His voice had a rather odd accent. It wasn't Italian but it wasn't Spanish either.

The offending man smirked and pushed him once more. It was a fatal mistake on his part. With a growl, the half naked man pounced on his prey and unhinged his jaw, biting down on the man's neck and shreading the flesh to pieces. He didn't drain the body of blood, simply spat the piece of meat back at the man and wiped his mouth clean of blood. People began to scream and run, many grabbing their phones to call the police. The man payed them no mind as he made his way towards the box, examining it closer. The box was made out of some kind of metal, something thin and flimsy. The wheels weren't made out of wood, yet they weren't made out of stone or metal either. They appeared to be made out of some sort of leather. It wasn't quite leather but it was the only thing that made any sense to him.

There appeared to be another wheel within the box. What was it's purpose? It was the perfect size for a man to put their hands around. He turned the wheel slowly to hear something else move. He looked to see the wheels on the road start moving. It was ingenious! It was used to steer what ever beast was inside the box.

This man was clearly not from this time period. He was easily confused by the blinding street lights. Everyone knew what they were. How did he not? What was interesting enough was his other form. Elena had saw it while she was hiding behind the building. The sounds of ripping flesh had made her grin from ear to ear. It had been a while since she was in her true form. Mainly because you couldn't get privacy in today's world. Someone would see it, and they would either call the police or record her. That was the last thing she wanted considering she had been living here for the past century undetected.

"No place to go. Follow him. We don't want him getting hurt, now do we?" One voice whispered.

"Or kill, but killing is fun. It would be best if we saw him kill," the other suggested with an mischievous tone.

After she received no more "advice" from her friends, she became a shadow and followed him behind him. His body was well sculpted. It made her shudder in content while her eyes drank in his body. He was god-like, which would make sense. Elena could vaguely remember of a tale about something similar to what he was. Then again, she heard a lot of things in the past three centuries. It was easy to mix up things. The vampire jumped at the sound of a car honking.

"Insolent swines. Don't they see we're working?" A voice said angrily.

Her shadow form moved across the ground before stopping on a wall. It was clear the man was confused as to why the Englishman was yelling at him. It was just the poor bloke yelling until he laid his hands on the beast. Elena held her breath even if she didn't have one. Those damn voices. It almost happened in a flash. Those sickly jaws unhinged like a snake and sank into the man's throat. There was no sound except for the people screaming the head's off. It was then Elena decided to do something. Still in her shadow, she moved swiftly across the ground as she maneuvered around the people's running feet to the man. The vampire slid into the car next to him in the passenger seat, just a black shadow in the leathery seat. He quickly learned how the steering wheel worked and the car began to move.

"Maybe you should let driving up to me," Elena said while she reverted back to her normal form.

She grinned to show off her fangs to let him know she was one of him in a way. The vampire reached over and grabbed the wheel.

"Put your right foot on the right rectangle. Don't let go of it unless I tell you to, okay?" She gave him a look that told him to listen to her.

With that, she began moving the wheel expertly through the crowd, occasionally pressing the horn.

"This is so fun, isn't it?"

The newly awakened man hadn't been aware that he was being followed by a shadow, hadn't noticed the shadow in the seat across from him as he fiddled with the steering wheel. He didn't care that people were running and screaming, in his time such actions were not only acceptable but also a part of life. But none of that was on the stranger from another time's mind. He was more focused trying to figure out how this box moved. He heard a voice coming from inside of the car and looked around as he looked to see the source of the noise. It was coming from a panel in the car. He raised an eyebrow and felt even more confused. Were dwarfs the beast that moved the contraption? Was it their voices he heard?

He jumped away from the car when he heard a voice and saw a woman appear before him, telling him to leave the "driving" up to her. He looked closer as she flashed fangs. Another one of his kind? And here he thought he was the only one left of his kind. He stepped forward slowly as she grabbed the wheel and told him to put his foot on the right rectangle. The man poked his head in to see the rectangle the woman was talking about. The man climbed into the box and took a seat as he looked down at the floor and gave the rectangle a light press. The box jutted forward and he immediately took his foot off of it as it startled him, the box growling as it lurched forward. So that was how you moved the strange contraption. The man touched the rectangle again a bit tentatively as the box began to move. He looked to her as she grabbed the wheel and then pressed on the wheel in question. He jumped at the honking sound.

"Fascinating.....what sort of beast moves this contraption that is so small and yet growls like a lion and honks like a goose" he said, mostly to himself. Hopefully this woman would give him answers as she made sure they didn't run over any pedestrians.

"Further more, why is there a man locked in this contraption with the beast in question" he said in a confused manner. He jumped as the door beside him closed as they picked up speed and looked at it. He noticed all sorts of buttons and levers on the side of the door. Instinctively, he had to find out what they did as he began to press them all, causing a window to rise from within the door, a strange thunk sound to erupt from all the doors, and all other manner of chaos as he tried to figure out what this thing was.

It was amusing to watch the strange man study the car like it was an attraction. To him, everything was an attraction in a big carnival. Elena had to grow accustomed to every new culture, new century, and it was difficult. The easiest thing to do back then was find yourself your apartment and don't come out of it unless to feed. Several times she spent days in hers, reminiscing over her hold life. It wasn't the prettiest one. She grew up in a impoverished town and had too many brothers and sisters. The girl walked into the forbidden parts of the forests and met her fate. It was actually a better fate then what was laid out for her back in her old life.

Elena tilted her head amusingly when he jumped from her voice. It was always good to see people or creatures be scared even if it was for a second. It didn't matter to her. He seemed more comfortable once she showed him her fangs, and it would let him know to trust her. She rolled her shoulders as she mentally went over the names of the streets and how to get back to her place. It shouldn't be too hard if they don't run over people along the way. An aggravated sigh left her quietly when he hesitantly pressed his foot down on the gas. Finally, they were moving. Her hands turned the wheel suddenly when they reached an intersection. Police cars were starting to arrive. Thankfully, they left in time.

"It's called a car. Nothing fancy. No beast inside. Just parts and machinery. You do know what a machine is, correct?" The vampire answered while her eyes were on the road ahead of her.

She sighed and continued driving for a while in silence, thinking about his annoying questions. The voices were telling her to take it easy, and he was simply a "baby" in this new world for him. "There's no man inside the car either. It's called a radio. It plays music, talk shows, and other things. And please don't press anything on your doors. You will have plenty of time to play with this new toy," she smiled full of teeth and turned once more onto the street with her apartment.

For the man studying the 'car', this was an attraction. Surely such a thing couldn't be moved without a beast of some kind. How could it move without a beast of some kind? He was even more amazed by the sight of the buildings passing the car. Buildings so tall that they touched the skies. Buildings made of glass and light. Such things had to have been done with magic. Then again, he'd seen the pyramids of Egypt. Perhaps some of the most astounding pieces of architecture he'd ever seen in his life. If humans could build something like they pyramids, who was to say that they couldn't build these massive towers of light and stone. Never could he have imagined such a feat being done by human kind. He'd been gone for too long, had missed way too much since his.....hibernation so to speak.

He looked to her when she said that this 'car' didn't need a beast, that it was simply parts and machines. He frowned a bit at her question. "Of course I know what a machine is" he said in an almost indignant tone. He was old but he wasn't that old. Though the machines of his time were rather simple. Levers, switches, wheels, pulleys. Nothing so complicated as a 'car'. He was astounded by such an innovation. He looked to her when she sighed.

"I apologize if my questions are annoying you but I've been asleep for gods know how long" he said with a slight growl. Times had certainly changed since he had been awake. Especially the attitudes of others and apparently the role of woman in this time. He was open minded however as she explained that the item was called a radio, that it played music, talk shows, and other things and to not touch anything on his doors. He caught her smile and relaxed a little bit as the car came on the street for her apartment. The man took his foot off of the rectangle and watched as she turned something to silence the metallic beast. He looked to her as she climbed out of the 'car'. The man climbed out after her and followed her. "What year is it?" he asked.

The buildings were magnificent in London. It was nothing like New York City, but they were pretty good. The vampire preferred the rainy, gloomy days to the cold, snowy ones in New York. Elena liked the rain. Often she found herself on the streets as a shadow splashing pedestrians. It was a fun game, and it entertained her in the boring city most times. Now, the city was definitely not boring with a creature like this man. She wondered if he had a name and if not, she would give him one. What would fit a stunning man like him with an accent of gold? Caesar? Roman? There was another time for that, and she didn't want to appear weird to him by suggesting fantasy names for him.

"Look at him. He's so gorgeous. Wouldn't it be nice if we..."

"Oh hush! Elena just met the poor man. Don't think like that." The voices started to act up, and Elena mentally quieted them. They could argue somewhere else. "Of course you do. I wonder what kind of machines you had back then. Most likely not as sophisticated as them now. Don't you like the skyscrapers? Pretty aren't they?" She smiled as they neared her building.

"Oh. I don't mind. It's nice to explain these things to someone for once. It's not you that's aggravating me. It's the...you know, I'll explain later" Elena grinned mischievously. When he took his foot off the gas without being told, she gave him a stupefied look. Quick to learn. She turned off the ignition and climbed out of the car, stretching out her arms from reaching over for so long. "It's 2020. It's actually pretty great. I've been around for...3 and a half centuries. I've never experienced a better year than now. Just wondering, do you have a name? It's way past my turn to ask a question." She led him up a flight of stairs to the third story where she opened a door with her key. She opened it and a mix of a dog/shadow ran up to them. "This is my pet, Larry. Surprised he came home tonight" she shrugged and walked to the living room to turn on the tv.

The man was amazed by the architecture. It was unique, beautiful even. Much different from the architecture he was used to. It seemed he was in a colder region of the world. Where would that put him though? It could be anywhere in the north. The more he thought about it the more he pondered just how long he'd been away. There was so much he had missed apparently but it appeared that vampires were still alive and well. However, it appeared they were shadows of them former selves. It appeared human beings hadn't seen something like him before. Then again with how old he currently was, it was perhaps safe to assume there was only one such being like him.....him.

He looked to her when she said she wondered what sort of machines he had 'back then'. That they were probably not as sophisticated as the ones there were today. "Hardly" he said simply. He smiled a bit when she mentioned the skyscrapers. "Glorious. I've seen the Pyramids of Giza but these are absolutely marvelous" he said as he couldn't help but look to the skies. "It must have taken thousands of builders to make such monuments" he said, though mostly to himself as he admired the large columns of light. 'Skyscrapers' indeed.

He looked to her when she said that she didn't mind and that it was nice to explain such things for once. He frowned a bit when she said she'd explain whatever it was that was aggravating her later. He looked to her when she turned something that silenced the 'car'. From the vibrations he'd felt and the origin of the sound, the contraption moving the car must be near the front. As he stepped out of the car and looked to her, his eyes grew wide and he stumbled a bit. 2020? Had he heard that correctly. He caught himself on the car (putting a significant dent in the hood), taking a breath as it suddenly hit him. "That would explain much" he said with a breathy tone, his vision getting a bit blurry. He blinked and shook it off as the shock finally wore off to some degree. The rest of her sentence had been lost on him but he had heard her question of his name. "Alexander the Third of Macedon" he said. This was no ordinary man, nor vampire for that manner. This was a person of legend. This was Alexander the Great. If he was Alexander the Great, that would me he was nearly 2 millennium old.....2000 years roughly.

The skyscrapers were nothing compared to the older architecture of the past. The pyramids, the Aztec's. If he thought this was amazing, he would be even more amazed by the Tower of Big Ben and the London Eye. That had to be on the agenda for the next week, take him around Europe. His accent made her wonder where he was from. It was a mix of Spanish and Italian. Elena knew very well vampires weren't well. They were alive, but in the past recent years, they had to disperse across the world and hide. It was part of the reason this vampire never shifted into her true form and hunted every so often. She didn't want any investigations. She would always kill them in a different manner.

Since he hadn't mention where he was from, she had assumed he had been all around the world. Who would he have met? There were so many possibilities. It was clear he wasn't from the colder countries or empires. Perhaps somewhere further south like Africa or the Mediterranean empires. "The pyramids? I'm sure they weren't falling apart like they are now. Wow. That's a long time ago." Elena said softly before she smiled at his next comment. "If by workers you mean slaves, no. It takes about one company and big machines to make these buildings. Monuments are something totally different." She laughed softly.

After she had gotten out of the car and told him what year it was, she checked to make sure no police men were following them. It was all clear. Suddenly, she heard a creak coming from the car. She looked at the obvious dent there was on the "borrowed" car. She planned on actually keeping it until the police found it, but it would've been nice to have a good car for once. She nodded at his statement about the year and laughed softly. "I don't know how long you've been out. We could always share stories later." Elena smiled and walked up the steps to her apartment. His name. "I've heard about you in history books! Wow. I never knew you were...this. That's actually amazing." She stopped and studied him, comparing him to sculptures she's seen of him.

Alexander could only imagine the kind of equipment used to make such impressive buildings. It must have taken them decades to make these skyscrapers. There were so many too. He couldn't have imagined how long it took to make all the buildings as a whole, to gather that much stone, to move it, to put it in place and make it secure. He was amazed by the things he saw in this unique world as she took him to some location of unknown. He could only imagine what more he'd find concerning vampires. Had they become so powerful that they manipulated the world in ways they saw fit or if they were hiding from the mortals. He didn't know but he was very curious to find out. What kind of world was he a part of now?

Alexander looked to her as she questioned the pyramids. "No, they weren't 'falling apart'" he said as she then smiled at his comments as she said that if he meant slaves, no. That it took a single 'company' and they used big machines to make the buildings. "Good. I'm glad to hear the world has learned to rid themselves of the chains of slavery. Barbaric and uncivilized" he said in a begrudging tone as he looked back to the skyline as they soon began to approach her apartment, soon stopping. He was glad that they were getting out of the car finally as he ran his hand through his hair as he finally was returned back to normal, following her inside as he said his name was 'Alexander the Third Macedon'.

He followed her silently as she laughed softly as she said that she didn't know how long he'd been out. "Approximately 2000 years" he said gently. He had a photographic memory and was very very good at math. Years of life ensured that. Alex looked to her when she walked and then stopped when he mentioned his name. He raised an eyebrow. "History books?" he asked. Were his exploits truly so impressive that they were remembered even to this day? "My exploits were hardly note worthy enough to be remembered 2 millennia later" he said in a rather modest tone. He knew that his exploits were indeed impressive but the Roman empire had gotten much larger than his and no doubt had lasted longer than his. His empire had lasted until his supposed death, the Roman Empire had lasted for almost five hundred and three years

Elena was an interesting vampire. In a way, she was a true vampire. She enjoyed the sweet taste of blood and the flesh of the squirming humans. She liked being in her true form and terrifying civilians. That was pretty much all she liked. The other part of her hated the voices that came from living for so long. They came around after her first century. For the past two, she slowly got crazier and crazier. She was a tiny bit mad, but that was all. Everything else she enjoyed. Living for so long made her wise in a way. Elena didn't have the grey beard, but she was still a smart cookie.

"Well, if they weren't falling apart then, they're falling apart now. You should see them. I'm surprised they are still standing." Elena replied while looking up at the night sky. It would be nice to let her leathery wings out and be in her true form. It was better to do be hidden, though. It wasn't fair that the humans had to be so terrified of them. Maybe not so much since those terrible movies came out. She was a little surprised that he was against the slavery. "The world is a lot better place now, but there are still some bad people. Just be thankful you were in a coffin." She was grateful to be out of the cold air tonight. Even for a vampire like her, it was cold.

Fishing through her pockets, she had commented about how long he had been out. She didn't expect him to know. She wasn't even sure if anyone really knew. Supposedly he had died sometime in BC, but since she now knew he was what he was, he could've lived much longer. "2000 years you've been out? That's amazing." Elena has always been a history nut. Ever since she was little, she wanted to know as much as she could. Being a vampire made it easier to experience history. "I've been around for 3 and a half centuries. You were important in the history text books back then. Not so much now, honestly" she shrugged her shoulders with a smile as she opened the door to her apartment and welcomed him in. "Welcome to my lovely home! It's not much, but it's pretty cozy" she grinned and walked to the living room, "I just realized you have no idea what most of this stuff is." She stood up and laughed. It was going to be amazing explained everything to him.

Alex began to realize that the vampire of this time would no doubt be different from the ones that he was reminiscent of. Alex was perhaps the oldest living vampire in the world. He came from a time when vampires were in their infancy. His blood was untainted from thousands of years of taint with human blood. They were bastard children for the most part. He was pure, he was what the vampire had once been, a predator that hunted in plain sight, not hiding beneath the guise of a human being. He possessed a strength that was unlike anything the vampires of today could ever hope for. However, he wouldn't know that by looking at the vampires of the current age. He would only be aware of the fact that vampires existed

He looked to her as she explained that they were falling apart now, that he should see them and that she was surprised that they were still standing. "If I am correct, that would mean that the pyramids are almost 4560 years old now. I'm amazed they haven't been torn apart by wore. Then again, perhaps humanity has evolved past war finally. Or perhaps the pyramids have simply been lucky" he said with a chuckle. He was a warrior but it didn't mean he enjoyed war. He didn't not like the idea of sending boys to be slaughtered. He looked to her as she seemed a bit surprised and said that the world was a better place now, to be thankful he'd been in a coffin. He tilted his head and raised an eyebrow as he followed her.

He looked to her as she commented about him being asleep for 2000 years. "I grew disgusted with the world I was a part of and decided it was time I leaved it, going into hibernation. It appears much has changed since I was here last" he said gently as he followed her into the apartment. He listened as she explained that she was about 3 centuries old and that he was important in the books back then. He sighed as she then shrugged and welcomed him into her home. He stood silently as she spoke, saying that she realized that he had no idea what of of the things in her apartment. He did not. He looked around her apartment and watched as she turned on a light. He shielded his eyes and then looked at the light and tilted his head. He seemed just as fascinated by it as he was fascinated by the car. He raised an eyebrow and looked to her. "What sort of magic is this?" he said as he looked to her, rasing an eyebrow as he observed the strange glowing crystal.

Vampires were much different back then. They had no indifference towards humans. They would change and shift in front of them, killing people and feasting. If only they could be that great again. Instead, they were shying away from the puny humans and spreading out across the world. Elena only knew one other vampire, and they didn't really connect. They had a plan and everything to have a pure child, but it didn't work out so well. He turned out to be a real douche with an intention of just using her. She was a mixed vampire unlike her siblings who were humans. Her mother had been raped by a vampire and had her. Elena never met a true vampire until now.

It was sad that such a great feat of the human race was crumbling. Another thousand years or so, and they would just be sand in the desert. "I never knew they were that old. Let's just say they've been lucky. You have no idea how bad wars have been in the Middle East. I'll give you a 21st century history lesson later on. Interesting stuff" she smiled and ran a hand through her long hair. War wasn't a fun subject. Through her years, she has seen more than enough wars. Enough blood and violence to make a tough man cry. Elena had friends who had to went through war and never came back. It was hard to talk about it, but she wasn't going to tell Alexander anything.

Elena could only imagine being alive for that amount of time. 2000 years is a long time to be "dead". "Disgusted by the world? It isn't that much better, but I'm sure you wouldn't be drastic enough to hibernate again. Besides, there are a lot better things now than in the past" The vampire looked around her apartment through her shadows, finding no one was hiding in her home. That was another thing about her. She could create shadows and control them. She walked around the living room after turning on the light, studying his reaction. He was like a two year old who needed someone to explain everything for them. "I can assure you it's definitely not magic. It's called electricity. Wires connect wires that make light. It's basically electrical fire in a light bulb. That's what it's called" she grabbed the remote and showed it to him. "This is a remote. It turns on a TV. A TV plays pictures that move. Got it?" She smiled and turned the remote to the TV, pressing a button and a movie beginning to play.
