I sometimes think I'm clever. Not always or mostly, but sometimes. Usually, I'm just a hyperactive blur of constant motion, and genuinely hard to live with if my ex has anything to say about it.

Love Twain. Now that was a man with a biting, wickedly clever sense of humor.

An interesting while-drinking-coffee historical-read for this morning: In Russia, early African American Immigrants Found the Good Life.​

I made chicken fajitas for breakfast this morning, frozen chicken breast in the oven for an hour at 350, chopped onions, yellow chili peppers, cilantro, spices and seasonings, olive oil, a flour tortilla heated on my grill, and best of all, leftovers galore!
 
Just a head's up to my wonderful writing playmates, I got caught up yesterday, but feeling slow today, still going to write and respond, but slowly and maybe not my best work, these weeks until December are going to be rough, 'cause work is killing right now, and I'm trying to get it all done before the Holidays come.

Also, my mind wandered to memories of a friend killed awhile back, when he was crossing the street. This isn't a bad thing, me remembering, memories are precious and good, but it also puts you in a certain mood. I've lost two really good friends in my life. The other friend committed suicide .... I'm still so pissed at him for doing it, I know he would have got through his depression and loved life again, but we make our choices.

Wow, my posts have to be depressing to read, I imagine. But I'm not depressed and there's a difference. I'm a little melancholy, but also very content with where I am in my life right now. And once I knock out this stack of work on my desk, my spirits will leap upward. I'm going to get a lot done today so I can enjoy tomorrow.

Exactly! Mind you I'm not saying Gail Berman is the face of evil even though she's responsible for the decision to place Firefly in the "Friday night death slot", air the episodes out of order, constantly preempt the show for baseball games, failing to promote it, and then driving a stake through its heart, canceling the series before its first season concluded. I don't have to say that, do I?

A joke thread exists in the forum games board. But I tend not to be a stellar jokester. For example,


A Bill Gates type loves horse racing and decides it would be a neat party trick if he could predict the outcome of any horse race. Since for all practical purposes, his wealth is unlimited, he hires a bevy of biologists, a squad of statisticians, and a passel of physicists. Each group is given a year to research how to predict a horse race. One year later, he invites them to present their findings.

The biologists confidently report that for they can genetically engineer an unbeatable racehorse. But it will take between 25 and 50 years and cost $100 billion. Frowning, the investor turns to the statisticians who report that they can develop a model that will predict the outcome of any race. It'll cost $100 million per race and their confidence level in the outcome assuming a fourteen horse field will be 10 to 15 percent.

The investor sighs and looks to the group of physists standing off to one side. The head physicist steps forward and explains that his team is utterly confident that they can predict the outcome of any race. Plus, the process they postulate is both cheap and simple. Okay, I had to work today. I'm on commission so if I don't get my "shit" done, I don't see money in my bank account. What I'm doing now is mainly paperwork so that I can get paid.

But I'm done now and planning to watch a movie with some friends. Probably I will post little if at all today and maybe not so much Monday. I am almost caught up and next week should be my last insanely busy week and then Thanksgiving.

I apologize for not responding to my PMs and Threads and Role Plays and conversations much Sunday or at all on Monday. Busy, busy, busy, this week. But I do intend to write today. Now you won't see me much around Thanksgiving time as I'll be traveling to my mom's place and spending the day down there.

Made my pizza again (artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, green olives, sun dried tomato, pesto and alfredo sauce, mozzarella). But I put bacon on half of it at the request of a friend. Just saying bacon and vegetarian pizza? Really? But it's fine. I made a slightly different crust this time and it didn't blow me away. I don't think the yeast rose enough though (cold kitchen).

This morning brings us yet another sad high school prostitution ring story.

Now how would the Japanese deal with this problem? Oh yes, they would send in a former female gang boss to work as an undercover cop in high school to stop this prostitution ring. No doubt, she agrees to this, because she hopes to free her prostitute mother from prison. We can call the movie, Yo Yo Sexy Girl Cop.
