Healing a king and a kingdom (yajirobe and silverdreamer)

A look of concern seemed to cross his features as she informed him that this favour would come with a price. She wondered what he was expecting her price would be. She could not be fully certain but she was aware that it seemed a few serious thoughts had crossed his mind and she wondered whether he expected a serious price to be paid rather than the playful one she intended. His words confirmed her thoughts and a look of almost hurt crossed her face. "My price will have no serious costs and certainly no changes at all to your home or yourself. Never would I ask that."

She smiled at his first few words and then burst into laughter at the surprising comments that came from him following his swords of the meeting. She slowly rose to her feet as she closed her book. "I shall meet you there indeed and my hand has not been promised to any simply because my father did not wish to choose my husband but let me pick my own. " She leaned forward and carefully placed a kiss upon his right temple. " Thank you for the compliment Sire but there is far more to me than you have yet seen. Like nature itself...I am not quite what you believe me to be or not solely that. "

She knew she was not and she knew some disliked magic when it occurred though they tolerated words of such.

To the king, he couldn't see what was so different about this woman, and he wondered why she always seemed to think as if she were different. He hoped that someday that he would figure it out, he saw the beautiful copper haired maiden as he would any other woman, though she was special in a lot of ways. He returned to his room thinking about her mostly again as she was on his mind a good deal, she was very different in a lot of ways than his late love, but honestly that wasn't a bad thing, two people could be different and they could be equally amazing, just in different ways.

The King went to bed soon after, he was tired, another day of long meetings, he felt stronger, but he realized just how weak he happened to be as he got stronger, it was something that didn't dawn on him till that moment for some reason. He knew that he would have to work hard get strong and become a better person still. He stretched as he slept soundly till the following morning.

The next morning he went to the meeting area right away knowing food would be there for them to enjoy and seeing the council gathered it would be the idea place to hear ideas for what would happen at the festival, he wasn't sure what was going to happen, but they had various plans writen up, they were around the table, they would be past around a random almost in a chaotic fashion as people read though them.

Her words seemed to have angered him or upset him though she had no certainty. Perhaps the kiss to his temple had been what had upset him as he rose to his feet and with few words left the room and she assumed that was his way of bidding her a good night. She tilted her head back and closed her eyes as she exhaled softly and tried to remain where she was. After some time she rose to her feet and to her room where she spent some hours finishing his outfit. Once it was complete she hung it up to give to him the following day and then settled into bed. Her whispered words fell from her lips as her eyes closed. Perhaps that night he would dream of another rather than her.

The pant she had buried in the pot was already sporting healthy but small leaves and the seeds she had planted around the kingdom had already began to grow and become noticed by others. Though none could say for certainty who had planted them. Her night was spent dreaming of magic and the King. She felt his warm breath upon her neck, the feel of his fingers along the spine of her back and she could feel his legs pressed between her own. It was then the magic escaped in her dreams and she could only watch as vines of green grew from the ground and bound around his wrists to pin him tot he soil beneath him.

She woke up feeling worse than she had the night before but she quickly washed, dressed and ate a little before she went to the main room to discuss plans with the gathered. She did not settle besides him but five seats to his left. She smiled knowingly and almost happily as she watched one of his butlers brought a pile of envelopes to Alfred. Some of the writing she recognized to be of other Kings in the land. So the seeking had already began and she was certain at least two were from Kings. It appeared she had already won their wager.

Alfred looked over at the beautiful Eria for a moment as he paused letting himself take her in for a good moment. He smiled as he said nothing as he wondered why she had chosen to sit away from him. He was sure that she had her own reasons though. He looked at more plans, there were many in front of himself as he could find some were good some not so good as well. He rubbed the back of his neck as he thought about the different ideas for a longer moment and than wrote up the ideas that should be included in his mind for the festival.

As he looked down he saw the letters and blinked as he saw that they were from not two kings but two kings, 4 dudes, a emperor, and even a clergy member from upper ranks. He blinked as he knew that he had lost that bet, honestly he was surprised that he had, but this was something he would have to live with. He sighed softly as he looked over at the copper haired beauty for a moment shaking his head as he wrote her a note asking what she wanted as her prize for winning the bet, and passing it quietly and quietly over to her using the people between them as absent minded middlemen wondering as he watched it get to her what he would owe her.

She scanned all of the papers and parchments that had been passed to her. Some she looked at quickly but others her green eyes seemed to linger on. Her features slowly evolving depending on what she saw whether it was pleasing or not. She took notes of a few of the ideas and the names of the people behind them so she could contact them personally and discuss further on their ideas.

Yet she kept a eye on the King throughout the meeting. A faint smile touched her lips at the sight and a curious eyebrow arched as he took in the details of those who had written and why. As she was passed the note she opened it and at first expected it to ask whether she was managing fine with the meeting or if she had any questions. As her mind took in the query of the note and flash backed to the dream she had experienced the night before she felt her skin along her cheeks heat and redden as a soft cough sounded from her throat.

She was already aware that he seemed to suspect she would seek a favour in turn from this meeting that was insulting and ridiculous and that gave her pause even further. Carefully she picked up a quill and brought it upon the parchment hesitantly. She could feel that steady throb and heat in the lowest point of her loins as she recalled the dream of the night before once more. Her arousal spiked and yet she hoped she remained clear minded as she added her prize.

"My prize for the wager is I hope a simple request My Sire, I hope for you to escort me to one of the near by forests when you are next able to have some time for yourself. "

What she did not realize until after she had folded the note and passed it back to those in between her and the King and was unable to take it back. There was one change in her name for him. Instead of simply calling him sire she had added a possessive pronoun.

The king looked over the note and the request and he smiled as he looked at it. He didn't want to pass a note back and figured that such things were not needed at this point either. He just looked over and gave her a smile looking past the group of people between them and nodded his head and gave her a thumbs up as he wanted to let her know that he was good with the idea of going out into the woods. As the meeting went on, he thought about where to take her, he knew the woods were around the whole of the city for the most part, but picking the where to go was important.

He waited though the meeting as choices were made about the festival and things moved at a good pace. He was glad to see things progressing and moving along so well. He smiled happy that he was able to just help honestly as he listened and gave his own ideas as to the dates, what would be there everything. It was over just after a lunch, in the mid afternoon, as the people left, he motioned the beautiful woman to follow him.

"Let us go the western woods await us," he said with a smile as he walked though the city with her, heading out the west gate and into the woods, it was a less dense area, but it was one with various types of trees and scrub as well, it gave the area a more dynamic look at least in the opinion of the king. It was a simple but elegant look as well as he looked around the woods staying along the path as he walked.

During most of the meeting she listened , continued to take notes and asked a few questions about elements she was uncertain on. She assumed the smile on his lips, the nod of his head and the sign with his thumb indicated he approved of her request and she looked forward to the time when they could escape the suddenly confined quarters of the castle.

Finally the people began to pick up their notes and letters and left the room. At his words she rose to her feet and nodded her head gently to him before she followed him out of the castle and to the woods. Comfortable silence fell between them and she watched him carefully as he moved in front of her along the path. She breathed in and enjoyed the fresh air and enjoyed the fragrance of the trees and flowers in the shrubbery.

"Thank you for upholding your side of the wager. I will admit though I did expect it to take a little bit longer before the letters would start arriving. It seems people are more eager than even I could anticipate."

Alfred sat down among the blades of grass and nodded his head as he laid on his back for the moment looking up at the trees and the clouds which were above himself. He smiled warmly as he then looked over at the beautiful friend of his. He nodded his head as he heard her comment as he then smiled at her gently, "Well your right, well, you were correct, but if you had followed your correct logic to its natural ending it does make a good deal of sense actually. I mean, they want to get the job, on marriage first shot," he explained gently.

"I am going to mail them back, till the festival, I shall not decide upon anything regarding my future wife, that shall be put off till the festival, then I shall make that announcement to anyone who wishes to come and hear," he said with a smile. He figured he could play this game a bit for the good of his kingdom. He knew that it would draw the maximum amount of interest, plus he might be able to make more friends, and who knew maybe some of these princesses were remarkable like the woman he was talking to at that moment in time.

She watched him closely as he settled upon the grass and raised an eyebrow at one of his words. "Job?" She asked with a mildly amused tone to her voice. "You make it sound like they are sending in their daughters with applications in hand and a uniform in the other." She did not settle on the grass instead she walked around the trees. She gently drew her hands along the trunk as if she was stroking them. She would tilt her head back often to take in the full height of the tree and then move onto the next but she did not move too far away from him either. She remained close enough that she could actually hear and see him properly.

"I think that is a wise decision. It gives you time to get to know any potential wife properly and it also gives your people time to get to know any future Queen that may come here." Her gaze then looked to him again. "Have you decided what you are looking for in a wife. Seriousness, humour , the ability to seemingly turn to stone for hours ? Her last remark was a playful tease. "What about...any attractions you may feel before then? I mean you already spoke of having quite....interesting dreams recently. Are you going to act on such if that occurs or wait until wed?"

The king blinked and laughed at the comment by the woman and smiled as he looked in her direction for a moment. " I wish for a woman that my people will love and respect. Who will care for her as much as I do. Who will be kind and sweet and beautiful. Who won't be afraid of telling me when I am wrong and have there own mind with a independent train of thought. A real supportive and helpful type I guess would be the biggest thing."

He thought about her second question and raised an eyebrow,"I haven't thought about it at all. Maybe so if the chance presence itself then I wouldn't be able to deny such a dream though at the same time that does. One with its own risks as well as good things. Such as jealousy and the chance of a child out of wed lock lots of risks to match the rewards if it is the right person."

She smiled as she heard Alfred laughed and then inwardly scolded herself for the feeling of happiness that swelled in her at the seemingly rare sound. She was though oddly careful in not getting too close to him. Perhaps it had been what happened the previous day or perhaps she was simply apprehensive for some reason since the letters arrived. "Well that sounds like quite wise virtues to look for in a potential Queen. Do you know of any of the Princesses that may be coming to see you? Do any of them have the sought for attributes you seek?"

She was not certain how to react to his admittance that if a chance came for him to bed an attractive girl he would consider doing so. She muttered something impossible to understand at a low volume. "Perhaps it would be wiser to hold off on such attentions as bedding another. You may make those Princesses jealous and if there is to be multiple princess here..I do not savour the thought of them yelling at each other the whole time."

In truth she did not actually enjoy the knowledge that she may actually have to watch someone hold his hand, nuzzle in to him or kiss him. Yet she had vowed to remain neutral in that circumstance. As if to change the subject she suddenly smiled broadly. "Do you have any secrets you never told anyone?"

Alfred look guy at her and listens to her words ever so carefully. He looked int her eyes his own focused on them for a moment everything segued to fade away as if they were the only two people in the whole world. He rubbed the back of his neck as he couldn't hear a word be said for a LNG moment. He was to take in by her beauty that everything staid went over his head. He smiled as he leaned closer to her birth out thinking about it.

"Secret, I do have one of them" he said softly as he looked at the woman in front of himself," I have a few but I will tell you one," he said pausing as he looked down for a moment,"I am a virgin, I have never had sex in my whole life nothing past teasing and touching ever happened. It is cause my late love got sick and we did want to chance making it any worse on her. I also don't want any of these princess, I made up my mind. I want you and only you in my bed ever," he said looking into her eyes after the declaration before he kissed her lips softly.

Her green gaze followed him as he started to move closer. She felt the urge to move backwards but found herself suddenly caught between him and a tree. She could not simply run around the tree in case he though he frightened her. Though in truth he was making her nervous. Suddenly his intensity had changed and it was as if he was not truly listening to her.

Her eyes narrowed as he spoke so honestly about his life with his wife. Her lower jaw dropped slightly and she suddenly found no words in her mind. She took several seconds to actually catch up on his words as he spoke of the princesses and his decision. Her mouth opened even wider though this time she was set to debate his decision. It was too little, too late that she found his lips on her own. Her body unable to actually back away from the gesture she found herself leaning into it instead.

Her lips pressed firmly against his own as a soft cry of enjoyment left her lips. It was then she truly realized what she was doing and pulled her head back before she seemingly playfully attempted to escape by walking around the tree behind her until it was in between them both. Her heart was racing and her breath heavy as she finally spoke. "I am sorry about you and your late wife. That must of been very difficult..and you said you would wait until the festival to announce your choice. You are making a foolish mistake in selecting me. Believe me Alfred. I am not suitable to be a Queen here."

She closed her eyes as she spoke, she remembered the dream of the night before, she could feel the magic of the trees and nature around her calling her to do what felt to be natural. She could practically feel the vines winding around her arms though there was nothing there. All too readily she imagined his body against her own, she imagined his arms bound above his head, his legs tied but parted while she knelt at his feet. She could feel his bare skin against her hands and imagined his length in her mouth. She could hear him moan at her attentions, feel him trembling.

"You should return to the castle Alfred." She managed to utter the words as she forced the images away.

Alfred looked at her as he broke the kiss, he knew the kiss had earning for her as it had for himself. He smiled knowing that she was attracted to him an he was to her. He wasn't going to just go in he wanted to push his luck and find out some tags that had been bugging him for quite some time at that moment in time. He moved with her and put his hands on either side of her as he focused on her alone for a long moment silent.

"I am a fool, I don't care if you think you wold be the worst use never. You can't see how amazing you are how special you are. I only wish to bewitch you. You are all I want in the wold. You have given me purpose have helped me and have made me feel whole again. No other could do such things as you," he said to her his tone showing his determination to win over the fair maiden to his side. I know too that you like me. I can see it in the way you move and look at me, Eri," he ranted before kissing her a second more passionately time as he let that speak for him as well.

She could not actually place what had changed in him. While not that long ago he seemed to pale, almost fragile and certainly one to follow rather than lead. This time he seemed more than eager to prove an entirely different side of his nature. She watched as his hands land on either side of her shoulders so she could not so easily escape this time. Her green gaze remained on his face as he spoke so honestly. She could feel her heart racing and tried to prevent any desire showing.

"You do care. You can not select me as Queen Alfred. Trust me. I am not like you or those under your care..." His only wish was to bewitch her? She fell silent at his words in case any more she said could seemingly be turned against her. He had bewitched her in his own way. Or at least she knew he had. She had been warned of the dreams. It was a gift or curse in her kind to have such. The vines represented commitment..amongst other things.

His mouth fell upon her own again and this time he did not seem so eager to simply let her escape. She was pinned against the tree this time. Her back arched slightly so that her chest pressed against his own even through the dress. Her hands came to live on their own. One settled on his waist the other on his shoulder as she drew him closer. "Please Alfred..." She murmured quietly though by then she was not exactly sure what she was asking him for. "What ever I feel or not feel...does not mean...anything."

Before she did anything that would scare him off she ducked downwards as her arms released him and she moved away from the tree. A relaxed look crossed her features. "I think you need a ice cold bath." She managed to get out between gasps for air as she tried to calm her body from the growing state of arousal.

He watched her slip out from under his arms but said nothing for a moment there was only so much pushing that one could do in one setting before it became to much. "First of all, your different so what,, that doesn't make things worse in anyway at all," he said with a smile as he walked up,to her from her left side. He let his finger get a good feel of her backside as he passed her quickly giving her a innocent smile as he walked past her.

"Still, I will wait, though it is impossible to find a woman as unique and amazing as you are," he commented as he walked with her to his castle knowing it was time to head in and finish up his work for the day. He knew that he had some papers to fill out still and things to do. He had a job which needed some looking out after all. He walked back with her and slipped off. He went to work in his little office at his table. He wrote diligently as he focused on his work.

She wanted to inform him that he did not know in what she was different , that just because he stated he was willing to accept her differences and all. Did not mean that he would be eager once he found out how she was different. She fell into silence at his words. If he was so eager to wait then nothing she said now would dissuade him otherwise. Perhaps when the Princesses arrived and his attention was forced at least to be directed that way he would understand.

She walked back to her room once they had parted ways and ate the food that had been left for her. As the evening came she ventured into the town. She stumbled upon people that needed her help or aid at least. A young child had got stuck in a tree and she helped him down, she also helped an elderly woman by providing her with some much needed coin and a promise of food the following day. Yet it was as she met the couple who had approached the king to inform him of their pregnancy that her favoured good deed came through. The woman was feeling the illness of her current condition and none of her normal methods had worked to aid her. By the time the moon was full in the sky with Eri's aid and some herbs she was feeling much better and managed to fall asleep. She promised she would return on the following day to make sure she was still feeling well and with a variety of herbs to aid.

It was only when she returned to the castle did she remember that afternoon with the King. For a moment she hesitated outside of his chambers before she ventured on to her own room. She finished what little work she needed to do and fell into slumber after wishing Alfred pleasant dreams. Her own was the same as the night before but she slumbered through them.

The next morning Alfred would wake to find the attire in his room, if he ventured to the garden they had began he would see signs that she had been there and worked there already. She spent the rest of the day well into the evening in the town as if avoiding him.

Alfred woke up and went to work. He saw that she had been there and he saw that she had been busy. He noticed he had some work to do and went about it. His mind on her as he moved and fixed the fields making sure all the weeds were gone as he had some enjoyment out of working wit he plants in the field. He smiled as he moved things away and tossed them into the compost pile that would turn to fertilizer later on when it was needed.

After he finished he ran quietly though the fields and streets waving to people talking to people as he relaxed. He never didn't dream of Eri at night now, it was just common practice for him now. He could help it and he came to accept the fact. He enjoyed his talks with the people finding out the other things Eri had done and how the people were quickly warming up to her. He was even asked by a little girl if she was his girlfriend.

He looked around and then quietly nodded his head as he smiled at the little one. He slipped inside the house and helped the single mother move things around and do repairs that were needed. He knew it was important to be able to help out so even else and make their life a bit better for him having been there. He's smile grew as he helped the woman fix up her place and then got a basket of cookies as payment as he headed home seeing the moon in the sky.

That little girl that Alfred had spoken to, did not keep that secret to herself for very long. Many of the adults though put it down to sweet innocence and her imagination rather than truth , her female friends aww'ed and smiled at the thought of one dressed as Eri being wedded to a prince and imagined their own wedding days to be while the boys proclaimed for her not to be silly and pulled faces at the thought of the King having to kiss any girl when he ruled the land.

Once the sun had long set, Eri visited the plants she had brought to life and gave each of them a small burst of natures energy that the still cool and mostly cloudy climate did not yet fully give them. She then took a simple bed robe and ventured further into the forest than her and Alfred had traveled the previous day. She eventually found a large lake and stripped out of the thick, heavy dress she had been stuck in all day. With the reflection of the moon on the surface of the water she dived in and relished the peace and quiet of the night, the cool of the water against her skin and enjoyed the freedom the water gave her.

Her gaze would though often turn to the Kings Tower of his home and wondered if he was in his chambers, if so, what he was doing. Did he still dream of her and if he did what did he dream about? Another question followed that chain of thought. After those dreams, when he woke up was he aroused and how did he sate his desires? The fact that he was a virgin surprised her. She certainly had not expected that to be his secret. That fact actually made her feel even more nervous about doing anything.

With a quiet and disappointed sigh with herself she eventually got out of the water, used her day dress to dress herself down and then started to pull on the night robe. Her skin was still damp so the material clung to her frame. Her nipples stood against the material as the chilling air made them harden and swell.

The king wasn't home at all, he was working in town helping out as many people as he could at that hour. He was cooking of all things for a group of orphans who we're talking about the big news. He did this every so often a way to help those who needed the most help. He made a pasta which was easy to make in mass and served the kids before he ate wi them hearing fantastic tales from them and their dreams and goals it was just fun.

As he left he walked into the woods as soon as he was done. His eyes were looking up at the moonlight. He walked humming to himself a pleasant tone to his voice as he smiled thinking about his productive day and all he had done during that day. He smiled looking ahead when he suddenly saw zero walking back from the lake and turned a bright red color as he looked anther,"well hi, I figured you were in the castle working on something today," he said looking right at her, as he looked at her he could see everything.

"So what have you been up to have a good day," he asked softly," I have been I town helping out the people in need of assistance," he informed her as he smiled blushing a bit still,"you are very beautiful Eri, but I am sure you know this fact very well," he commented softly as he gazed over her quickly checking her out.

She mouth opened in surprise as she saw Alfred coming in the opposite direction of the castle and through the woods. She was suddenly quite aware of how little she had on even though the material reached down to her ankles it was thin and hid nothing of what was under the garment. "Greetings, Sire and I spent much of the day in the town myself. I have agreed to help the couple that are expecting their child soon. The pregnancy is already having a toll on the mother. It is good to hear that you have being helping those that need it. Which reminds me , there is an elderly lady in the town by the name of Pearl Smithson, she lost her son last year and her husband a month ago. With both now gone she has no one to help take care of her. She needs help with food."

She smiled at her compliment, her wet hair curling as it slowly dripped dry, some of the larger drops caught on the robe, wetting the material and made it cling even more. "Thank you Sire. The compliment is..well received."She turned her gaze to the way back to the castle and began to walk the way she had come not that long ago. "Rumour has it that two of the princesses shall be arriving in the next day or so. Is there anything I need to be aware of before they arrive?" She had no certainty whether the rumour was true or not and so she for now at least imagined he would be busy the next few days preparing.

She could feel with his presence the urge to use her magic on him rapidly increasing. Her fingers itched and her unnatural restraint on her magic made her ache. She knew at some point at this rate she was going to falter and he would end up bound before her and then she would likely be in the dungeon minutes later. She sighed softly at the thoughts that crossed her mind.

Alfred smiled hearing that she was going to help out a family. He was glad to hear that and get the advice about the family or old lady who was in need of help. "Thank you, I shall go that direction tomorrow and check things out where she is, I figure that I can do a bit of good. Find a way that she can help out or be around more people. It should help her and keep her spirits up as well," he said with a kind warm tone to his voice.

"You are also better at this rumor game then I but that isn't surprising. It it will be interesting to meet new people at least," he said walking up to her and slipping his arm around her waist,"well come walk with me home, I fear it might cause a sensation but who cares we would just be walking together," he said with a kind friendly smile. It was easy to see the charisma of the king was returning to him as time went forward.

He walked with her and noticed no one was out. It seemed that the town was asleep. They walked towards town under the moonlight as it looked so great the town looked amazing and then he smiled,"I am glad you like my home, I think the people all very much like you. I think you people must all love you."

As he slid his arm along and around her waist she felt her heart catch as it seemed to beat at three times the normal speed as his arm slid into a crook of her curves as if it meant to settle there. Her breath caught in her throat as she fell silent and moved in pace with him. She was simply too nervous to speak in case she lost semblance of that thin layer of control she had and end up kissing him instead. "I am sure there is already rumours a plenty of whether or not we have bedded each other or more."

She finally managed to mutter after a while. She smiled at his words about the Kingdom. "Your people barely know me. " She whispered faintly as the streets seemed utterly empty except for them two. She could feel a chill int he air that came before heavy rains and she shuddered slightly. In the distance she could see thick, dark and heavy clouds. "Rains will come tomorrow. Be prepared." She muttered as her gaze followed the moving cloud. As they neared the main entrance to the castle she smiled to him gently and then very carefully placed a kiss to his cheek before she moved away from him. "Sleep well Sire, sweet dreams." She said again and then quickly disappeared up to her room and left him once more.

"One does have to know one for that long to tell what kind of hear the other person has," he mused as he looked over anther as he knew that she would be headed off to bed and then stopped at his door. "I can tell your a good person, how you treat people and how you help them. That is really all I need to know. I mean how you help the average person. That makes you different and that makes you as special as you are."

The king smiled,"pleasant dreams," he said before heading into his room to turn in and sleep of the night.

The next morning the king was up, his servants were up having him washed and dresse in the finest of clothes for a princess was to make her presence known. He was glad he had done work in the garden that day and that he was able to make the irrigation system work for the garden before the rain came. He sat looking outside though one do the windows smiling as he was so very curious about what this day would bring.

The cloud grew and by morning there was no sun to be seen. Instead the sky was dark and a cold wind blew. By the ninth hour of the day the rains started to fall, heavily and rapidly.

The Princess arrived on time and was waiting just in the large welcoming hallway. She was different to Eri as night was to day. Her pale blond hair had been pinned up into a mass of curls, several strand tip reached her neck and curled onto her cheeks to tempt him to stroke them out of the way. Her blue eyes while wide with seeming innocence she was also one that observed and knew how to manipulate situations to make sure she came out smelling of roses. The scent of lilly's and jasmine came off of her skin. Several jewels hung upon her frame. A pendent was attached to her cloak, a necklace around her neck, just above her breasts and a delicately created glass charm around her wrist. She wore dresses to impress. The corseted dress pushed up her breasts and thinned her waist but gave her a generous curve to her rear.

Eri knew she could not be as neutral as she had planned so after eating breakfast she quickly dressed in trousers, shoes and a blouse before she took several boxes of food and old clothes the staff no longer wished to give to those that needed it. Her hair hung freely down to her waist in wild curls and flat shoes were upon her feet for once.

She spent the morning delivering goods and then int he afternoon the rains grew heavier, she helped people moved their belongings to upper floors if they had them, and helped prepare dams to try and divert water back out to see or lakes to where hopefully it would not cause trouble. One of the townsfolk. A woman with six young children gave her a sofa to sleep on for the night after watching Eri work until she was swaying on her feet, her clothes clung to her skin and she was cold as ice. The first night of the rains passed by without any incident but the rain continued to fall but it was the first night since Eri's arrival that she did not return to the castle. Partly due to how tired she felt but mostly because she knew she had to give the Princess a chance to persuade Alfred away from his desires for Eri.
