Cormac found himself at the door of the empress's daughter having no memory, of him getting there. A fragment of him was back in the cell of a room, reflecting upon a yearning of his. For a slimmer of a moment Cormac found himself back in the Gaul capital of Alesia, readying himself for battle. Today at the walls were the Romans who not long ago, the roles were reversed and it was the Gauls who plundered. However, he was not so certain with thousands of iron men outside battering their shields. By the time Cormac stood on the wall the Romans began to shower them with arrows, as the iron man began to reach the gate with their ram. The gate creaked before finally breaking and then nothing, as he twisted and turned before waking in a cold sweat. Cormac ran a hand through his thin fiery hair and cursed aloud "Not again.", he thought to himself having his dream being recurring for a while now. Crawling out of bed begrudgingly the five foot ten man started to dress himself, in the plain toga of the Praetorian Guard and grab his gladius. Before standing his watch of the empress' daughter, Cormac ate a quick and light breakfast before heading off.

However, much a part of Cormac that sympathized with the girl was outweighed by resentment. Though she never did anything to him, she embodied everything that he opposed. Cormac had to watch the girl with his pools of emerald and protect her from harm, but he often fantasized about putting his hands on her himself. You didn't have to tell him it meant his own death, but he laughed at the thought of a Roman woman being pregnant with a Celtic baby. Its been almost ten years since Cormac lived in Gaul, he had almost forgotten what it had looked like. At any time of his service he could of let the girl die, but every time he had protected her. To this day Cormac had wondered why he put his life on the line, for some spoiled girl. All it would take would be Cormac reacting to slow and the girl would be be dead, though he knew it would also mean his death. However, as ever he awaited the the arrival of the woman and the start of another humiliating day.

Ara was a young girl with the longest blond hair you might have ever seen, it ran down her shoulders in a long braid and stopped at her waist, she had the darkest brown eyes you would ever see but they were kind and caring eyes. She was about 5'4 1/2 her weight was usually 98-100 lbs depending on the season and how well the crops came in and so no. Ara was wearing her favorite blue dress that morning, on her feet she wore leather sandals. She was not a rude or spoiled Princess like some would think, she turned down most jewelry her mother gave her and she refused to wear sandals that were jeweled or made of any metal like gold or silver. She wore a pendant around her neck, it was carved in the shape of the goddess Isis, her grandmother had given it to her, her grandmother was Egyptian which explained her dark brown eyes.

Anyways at Ara's waist was a small but strong sword, her father refused to let her out unarmed even with her Celtic guard, Ara was taught how to fight in order to protect herself, today she was not usual happy self, she had no smile on her face. She opened her bedroom door and looked over at Cormac who stood outside. "Good morning, Cormac." she said softly and walked past him making sure to close the doors behind her. She pulled her plain old brown cloak around her, it was winter and slightly cold out. Ara sighed softly as she stared down at the ground making her way outside of the palace, it was time to go shopping for some things once again, she wished her life wasn't so boring. She was sick and tired of being stuck in the palace. At least she had Cormac but he seemed to hate her guts or so she thought. She was going to get him something nice today.

Cormac forgot how young the empress' daughter was only being eighteen, and while he was not much older at twenty three he had more life experience than her. The strapping young man ran his emerald eyes up and down Ara's body, having always admired the girl's features. Though non of his business Cormac wondered if Ara's mom cheated on the emperor for the daughter, shared almost nothing alike with her father. It always amused him seeing Ara armed with her small sword her only weighing one hundred pounds soaking wet, while Cormac was one hundred and fifty pounds with all of it muscle. "Good morning, Ara." Cormac replied with his usual low pitch voice while looking into her brown eyes. He waited for Ara to take several steps before falling in behind her, enjoying how her ass bounced with every step. "The blonde haired vixen certainly has grown up.", Cormac recalled back when the girl was younger. Having been Ara's bodyguard for several years know he knew what he was in for today. Maybe just maybe the girl would do something different today that didn't involve shopping or praying to some alien gods. As ever Cormac kept his eyes open taking in every detail of their surroundings.

Ara could feel his eyes on the back of her but she pushed the thought away, he was her bodyguard it was his job to always watch over her. She let out a soft sigh as she made her way down some more steps and turned the corner where she made her way into the gardens where she sat down on a bench and looked over at him.

She pulled something out of her pouch, it was a small flute, she brought it to her lips and began to play it. Music could be heard in the air as it came from her flute, it sounded like a mating call of some bird. Ara had been studying hard up till now and now that she was ready she had decided to play her flute which she was very good at.

She looked over at Cormac and gave him one of her rare smiles before she played another song, the music flooded through the air, the sweet notes seemed to bounce of the flower petals and enter your ears. After awhile she stopped and put her flute away and stood up. "Come, we are going to the pottery room." she said and walked into the palace with him behind her.

Once inside she made her way down the hall past her room and turned a corner, they came into a room with a potter's wheel and fresh clay. No one else was around which meant they were alone. Ara sat down and began to spin a bowl on the wheel, she hummed a tune as she went a smile never leaving her young face.

Cormac followed behind Ara into the garden, positioning himself in front of the seated girl. He didn't have to wait long to find out why the girl stopped, for pulled out a flute. Cormac watched as Ara wrapped her lips around the flute and started to play. "The girl thinks herself a musician eh," the words ran through his head, the man held back a smirk. Though Cormac admitted that the girl could play having known, she practiced a lot. "Smile at me again and I'll give you something else to wrap your lips around, you little bitch," he thought bitterly, the man hated her smile. Like a good dog Cormac waited until Ara stopped playing, before she commanded him to come along. Begrudgingly he followed along to the pottery room and noted once inside, it was empty except them. While Ara spinned a bowl Cormac stood vigilant and glanced at her occasionally. Though they were he didn't risk doing anything because at any moment a servant or a artisan could walk in.

She got to work on some pottery she had been ordered to do for her mother who was else where in the country. Athena said nothing more to Cormac, she could tell he was in a bad mood yet again today. She hated that he could be an asshole at times but is other choice if he didn't serve her could always be death.

A few hours went by and once she was done she looked out the window, it was getting dark and she knew it was almost time for dinner. She stood up and made her way down the hall and another making her ways towards her quarters, once inside she sat down at a desk and a servant came in bringing them both their meals.

Athena ate her's the whole while not paying attention to Cormac, if he was going to be rude to her then she wasn't going to talk to him. Having had him guard her for years she could tell when he was in a bad mood or a good mood. "Enjoy your dinner, hope you like souvlaki." she said gently then finished her own and just sat back in her chair with her eyes closed, relaxing.
