Princess Alessandra sighed as she looked at her things. Tomorrow she'd be leaving to wed King Harold of Montague but for now she was here and would be until the morning. A feast had been prepared for her departure but the young woman truly didn't want to attend. At seventeen, Alessandra was a true beauty with pale skin, red lips the perfect cupid's bow shape. There was a natural pink hue to her cheeks without need of rogue or blush. Her hair was dark brown and wavy and fell all the way to her knees and she had eyes as green as emeralds that were perfectly shaped and proportioned to the rest of her heart shaped face. Sighing, she stood in her chambers as her ladies finished dressing her though really she could do the job herself but it was insisted upon. After she was placed in the dress and jeweled, her hair braided, she was left to her own devices and decided to go downstairs. She had no wish to marry King Harold. The man was forty years old, married twice but without children and now she was to be wife and queen number three.

Slipping into the great hall and fixing her green dress, she saw her father speaking with some knight and she fixed her gown once more before approaching and curtseying. "Father," she greeted. The King smiled and took her hand, kissing her knuckles. She was tall for a girl but even she didn't reach the height of this knight close by. In fact she scarecly reached under his nose. The King smiled at her and then turned to the knight. "I'm sure you know of my daughter, the princess Alessandra...It is she who I am wishing to talk to you about. I still need a man to head the travelling on the morrow. There will be just herself and a few provisions as we don't want bandits to think they can attack and steal valuable possessions. She needs a guardian for the trip and I was hoping you would consider the job.

Alessandra sighed. She hated this. Having men describe her every being. She was a princess and an elemental mage. Of sorts anyway. She could control fire, water, earth and air yet it was a secret. Her mother had been one of these few bearers of magic. A pure blood witch by most people's standards. The type of witch that would be hunted by Blood Hunters. Having met King Harold she was positive the man was a blood hunter himself. And that meant if he got hold of her, he could take her virginity and then use her powers for evil. He was evil in his ways and she hated him but none of it mattered. Her fate was sealed. Unless she could convince this man not to take her to Harold but that was a joke. No man would do such a thing. After all this knight was honorbound to her father's will.

Sir Orion stood attentively next to the King, engaged in ideal chatter. Clearly he didn’t want to be here. A tall man standing at 6’1” with a square face that has been hardened over the years and tanned olive colored skin he was obviously out of place amongst the pale skin and round faces of those around him. His mid-back length lackluster light brown hair wasn’t common for the region either; the same being said for his hazel colored eyes. The only one adorned in armour as well he wore a chainmail shirt underneath a steel cuirass with pauldrons, vambraces, leather gloves, and partial greaves. Underneath all that he wore simple grey clothing and slightly worn leather boots. Strapped to his belt was a black leather sheath, inside and exquisite steel long sword, its pommel encrusted with a single large round ruby. Yet he stayed, because it was his duty.

As the princess approached he took little interest in her. He just kept his attentive posture as she greeted her father. When the King inquired if he knew who she was he simply replied with an “indeed I do my King”. Before he had arrived he already knew why he’d been summoned. A chance like this was to be considered an honor, a once in a life time chance, but to him there was nothing honorable in escort duty. The thought of having to be some girls only company for an extended period of time was torment to him. But he couldn’t refuse so begrudgingly he accepted. “It would be an honor my King,” he said with a flat tone and a semi smile. “But if we are to leave on the morrow…” He paused, honestly thinking he would have had at least a day or two for preparations before departing. “With your blessing my King I would like to go and oversee the preparations for the journey. I’ll feel better knowing that everything is ready and there is nothing to worry about.”

With the Kings nod Orion turned, bowing. “Princess, please excuse me, I’ll have to formally introduce myself sometime in the morn…” With that said he headed toward the doors. A servant saw him out, giving him directions. “Go left down the corridor, when you reach the first set of spiral stair on your left go all the way down them, then go right down the corridor and the doors will with be on your left, you can’t miss them there to large,” he laughed. Sure enough he was able to find the doors. Stepping out into the refreshingly brisk early night air the others out in the courtyard paid him no attention at first. “Who is in charge?” He asked one of the servants who passed by. The man simply pointed to a bearded short burly man. Approaching the man he stopped before him and looked down to see his face. “I am the knight to escort Princess Alessandra…” he began to say but was cut off by the short man. “So what can I do you?” He snapped. “I’m busy if you can’t see!”
