Reborn (Lady and Blair)

Grace shifted in the chair, forgetting about the day before and her surroundings in the first few seconds of being awake. "Mom?" she murmured sleepily, her eyes fluttering open. "Oh, Alcide..." she said, blushing and sitting up in the chair. She tried to smooth our her hair, looking up at the clock above the fireplace. Her eyes blinked against the light in the room even though there wasn't much. It seemed that the mountains were always snowing, dark and gloomy. "Sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep down her," she mumbled, standing up and straightening her clothes. Her stomach growled. "Um... Did I miss breakfast?" She looked up at the large man, peering into his dark eyes.

Claire looked over at Katra, a smirk on her face and a glow about her that said she had experienced a lot of sex the night before. "I would love to be, but let's be honest. Alcide won't stay if I come." She shrugged a bit and looked into the bedroom. "Jason, would you come on? I'm hungry." She rolled her eyes and arched her eyebrow as Alec walked out in a pair of boxer shorts and nothing else. His hair was messy with his sleep, and his expression clearly stated he was not a morning person. "You knocked?" he mumbled rubbing his eyes.

Alcide smiled slightly at her reaction amused as she looked around, snickering a little. Like every other man in the house, wearing just bottoms, the soft fleece swetas he was wearing was all, the low light playing over a well defined chest as he turned away the tattoo on his left upper shoulder a self mockery of the death god, the norse gods of the end of days showing in stark lines, the world serpent clasped in the jaws of fenrir."Definately not. It's just now 7."He said looking towards the window, "We're on the western side of the mountains, it doesn't lighten up to late."He said understanding her look towards the window as he headed for the door."Come on, if mother's not cooking,I'll make you something. Wont be her to die for waffles and omlettes, but I can make some mean scrambled eggs."He said as they walked, trying to be more cheerful, more amusing than he usually was, trying to not be the sarcastic bastard katra accused him of being.

Katra rolled her eyes as she wrinkled her nose a little."If you showered, he probably would. Besides, he has bigger concerns than you and jason right now." "Ahh but there are no bigger concern than me, I'm the biggest there is."Jason smirk grew as he stepped out into the hall in a pair of sweats and nothing else."I'm heading down to make food if you want something."Katra said swallowing hard as she tried to not look him over, her eyes flickering down, a light blush on her face as she stepped back, determined to not to keep staring.

Grace was a little surprised at his cheerfulness. Last night, he seemed to be the last person to be cheerful. "Sounds great," she murmured, walking down to the kitchen with him. As he began to scramble eggs, she sat on the counter and watched. It was chilly in the house, making her shiver. She'd grown up in a beach house with her parents and brother in California, so the drop in temperature was shocking. She looked like she didn't even belong in it with her sun kissed skin and light hair. "I've never seen snow before," she admitted, "Well, I've seen it, but not in person. Only in a picture my mother kept on the bookcase. It was of her and her parents and brother. She was from Colorado... For some reason, though, she left and never looked back. She says it was because she was sick of the cold weather, but I think it was something else..." She looked over at him and smirked. "I'm rambling. Sorry."

Alec shrugged. "I'll take food..." he said with indifference, moving back into the room to shrug on a sweater. It was way too cold for him here. "Where's Grace?" he asked, stepping back out into the hall. He raised his eyebrows at Jason and Claire, then rolled his eyes. "Are they always like that?" he mumbled, watching as Clair embraced Jason and began to make out with him as if she had not spent all night with him. She was hooked on him, addicted. She had loved Alcide, but when Jason came along.... She knew he was meant for her and the other way around.

Alcide smiled a little as he cooked shruging a little."We'll go out later. Then you can see the snow. You really don't understand snow until you've gotten it dumped down your shirt. Be careful, katra'll do that."He said rabling a little himself before sighing, shaking his head a little before sighing, settling back into his grouchy self, because it wasn't in him to keep cheerful."We all ramble when we're uncomfortable. I'm sorry...I don't mean to make you uncomfortable."He said his shoulders slouching a little as he set a plate of food in front of her, starting to eat himself as he sat down."I'm teaching Katra to use a bow if you want..."He said smiling slightly at her.

Katra snikered little, dressed warmly herself in sweats and a sweater before shrugging."Alcide was waking her up.She fell asleep downstairs, he was rounding her up for breakfast."she said shrugging before snickering at the two making out, poking claire as they walked by."Always, but if they doesn't stop, alcide's going to nail jason's hide to the wall and laugh while he does it."Katra warned as they headed downstairs smirking slightly at the sight of grace and alcide eating."Did you save any for us?" "No. Make something for yourself."Alcide said rolling his eyes.

Grace shook her head. "No, it's not you. I've just never been around a lot of men... Well, men like you, I guess," she said, blushing a little at her own words. She stared intently at her food, eating slowly. When he invited her to go with him and Katra, she wrinkled her nose. It seemed that him and the other woman had something going on between them. All they did was talk about eachother, and they obviously spent a lot of time together. "I wouldn't want to impose on the two of you," she murmured, taking a bite of the eggs. Her eyes lifted to look out the window, wondering why[//i] the idea of Alcide being with another woman bothered her. She barely knew him, and she wasn't even sure she liked him. He gave her a weird feeling. A feeling that left her interested and scared at the same time.

Alec smirked a little and moved to sit at the breakfast table, glad to see his sister was safe and sound, even if he didn't like seeing her sitting so close to Alcide. "Is there any place to take a run around here? If I don't run in the mornings, it leaves me in a bad mood all day." Grace rolled her eyes. "Like you would even know the difference," she mumbled, taking another bite of eggs.

Alcide looked confused at her words before smiling slightly."Okay."He said shrugging because he had no idea what to say to that.Looking confused at her words, it wasn't so much that him and katra had those kind of feelings for each other, it was just that they were hardly in anyone else's company, since the hosue was so remote and the only other two here having been jason and claire,"I like teaching.Having someone else there will keep katra from inviting claire."He said wrinkling his nose a little as the others walked in. "Will not. I already invited her."Katra chirped looking amused as alcide paled under his tan, but like she suspected, didn't protest claire's presence on their archery lessons.

"There's a trail down the mountian. it starts at the edge of the forest, its cleared."Alcide said not offering to be the man's running partner, though he'd probably end up running sometime during the day. "You should go with him,Cide. He might get lost and require your outdoorsman knowledge."Jason said snickering as he sat down, reaching over to steal some of alcide's eggs and ignoring the look he got for his efforts. He knew alcide wasn't going to snap out at him, not when he was making such a effort to appear civilized and kind in front of grace.

Grace looked over at Alcide with and arched eyebrow. She had not pegged him for someone who "liked to teach". Shrugging, she reached up and tugged a hand through her hair. "Well... I guess I can tag along," she said, if only because he had interested her enough to do so. In all honesty, archery didn't sound fun at all, but finding out more about this hulking, handsome, mysterious man might be enough to make her give it a shot. With that, she slipped from her chair and placed her plate in the sink. "I'll go get dressed," she said, then disappeared up the stairs.

Alec rolled his eyes. "Considering I didn't grow up with silver spoon in my mouth," said, motioning to the fancy surroundings, "I'm sure I can figure out my way around a trail. I know this might sound crazy to all of you, but we don't need escorts to get from place to place where I'm from." He shoved the rest of his toast in his mouth and stood up, going up the stairs and throwing on a t-shirt that he found in the dresser and a pair of running shorts. It was amazing that the closets seemed to be made for them, each piece of clothing hand selected. It creeped him out a little. How long were they being watched before they came here? He shook his head and slid on some shoes, the went about his run, fully content on being alone.

Grace came down the stairs a few moments later in a slouchy grey sweater that exposed one of her shoulders, a pair of jeans, and a pair of brown boots that went up to her knee. She pulled her wavy blond hair up into a pony tail, showing her delicate neck. Shoving her hands in the pockets of her jeans, she raised her eyebrows.

Immediately, Claire rolled her eyes. "Alcide invited the new girl?" she said, turning to Katra. The thing about Claire was that she loved Jason, and she never gave Alcide much of a second thought since she met him. But for the first time, she was starting to wonder if Alcide would find love with his past life's lover like she had. The thought unnerved her a little.

Grace narrowed her eyes a little. "I'm sure I'll live if I don't get a change to shoot an arrow at a target," she snapped, "So if you would prefer if I wasn't there, then whatever." With that, she turned to walk back down the hall with a huff, only to run into the broad chest of Alcide himself.

Katra nodded looking snug in the fleece lined jeans and heavy jacket that she was wearing, the woman looking at claire with a smirk."He did.Even made it sound like it was his idea to teach and everything."Katra teased claire, more because everyone knew alcide wasn't a man who usually enjoyed teaching things, but he could shoot, so he did. And since she was a failure at it, he had taken the time to help her.

"Claire, stop being a attention hound.I'm perfectly capable of teaching all three of you"Alcide said with a slight grunt as he caught the girl under the arms, holding her up to keep her from falling over before stepping back once he was sure she was steady, stepping around her to go outside."Come on you three, I set up the targets earlier."He said as he led them all down to the small flat field near the woods, enough under the trees to not be as covered in snow, and offer some shelter from the wind. Handing katra her bow he smiled turning to hand grace one to."Have you ever used one before?"

Katra smiled slightly as she raised the boy, testing the strength of the string, frowning in concentration because despite being the goddess of the hunt the woman was completely hopeless at using a bow and she had every intention of proving jason wrong in his belief that she'd enver be able to use it.

Grace took the bow, raising her eyebrow and studying it with a mixture of interest and utter fear. The idea of holding a weapon scared her a little, though she wasn't about to let him know that. "Um, no, not really," she admitted with a sigh, "How do I hold it?" She looked up at him with a confused expression, not even sure how to hold the damn thing. It felt so awkward.

Claire scoffed and grabbed her own arrow, rolling her eyes. "I'm not an attention hound," she snapped, "I just thought that we'd get some stuff done today. We don't have time to watch Alcide pretend like he's more pleasant than he is. We all know he's an asshole. She should too." Grace looked over at Claire, her eyebrows knitted together. For some reason, she did not like the way this girl was talking about Alcide. Even if he did seem a little... gruff, he had yet to do something to get the name "asshole" in front of her. "Maybe he isn't the one with the problem," Grace snapped, making Claire look like she was at a loss for words for a moment.

"You're right," Claire said, "Maybe he isn't. Maybe it's you with the problem." With that, she flipped her dark hair over her shoulder and lifted her bow, taking aim at the target in front of her.

Alcide let out a low snarl at the girl's fighting though he didn't say anything besides that near silent sound of annoyance. Shifting to stand behind grace he positioned her hands, raising it up, his larger arms resting lightly on the outside of hers, ignoring claire, like he always did, not even defending herself against the words she said to him, even if they cut his heart to shreds. Not that it was obvious that the woman still had the power to hurt him.."Now be careful. I didn't think to tell rabbit when I was teaching her but if you're not careful, you'll catch your breast-"He sounded slightly choked and embarassed, lightly blushing."with a bowstring."

Katra growled at claire already turning to face the woman as she got prepared to argue with her, knowing alcide wouldn't defend himself, yelping as the move snapped the bowstring out of her hand, the arrow flying towards the former goddess.

"cl-"

Even at the warning, alcide was already moving away from grace and stepping into claire, folding her ever so gently in his armsmaking sure that the arrow couldn't get to her even as he felt it slide easily through the muscle on his shoulder, feeling it scrap against bone as it buried itself deep within the muscled expanse of his upper shoulder blade.Stumbling a step he hugged claire tight against him to stay on his feet as the pain threatened to send him down.

Grace let out a yelp, dropping her bow and arrow and running over to Claire and Alcide. Claire looked a little shell shocked, eyes wide and chin quivering. She was so sure that the arrow was coming toward her; so sure she was a goner.... Grace grabbed Alcide's bicep and led him to the house, not looking back at the other two woman. It was instinct to help him, her face going pale as she saw his shirt growing wet with blood. Her mother had been a nurse, so she knew some basics, and it was another reason why she didn't think twice about helping him.

Once inside, she pushed him into one of the kitchen chairs. "Stay," she snapped, "You're too tall for me to reach unless you are sitting." With that, she scrambled around in the cabinets until she found some vodka, two wash cloths, needle and thread, and some bandages. Kneeling beside him, she handed him one of the wash cloths. "Bite it," she said, reached around to grab the arrow. Waiting until he had the washcloth in his mouth to bite, she yanked the arrow from his flesh.

Alec ran up, dripping with sweat and his bare chest heaving as he caught his breath from his run. He pushed his hair back and watched as Grace and Alcide moved to the kitchen. "That was a short lesson," he mentioned to the other girls, raising his eyebrows. He wiped his face with the shirt he had previously taken off.

Katra cried out looking shocked and surprised as her arrow hit alcide, watching the two go before she could shake herself aware enough to follow them inside, swallowing hard at the sight of alec. Even pale and worried about alcide, she could apperciate the sight. "Accidently shot Cide. Kinda ended the lesson."She said starting for the house, smiling slightly at alec though she looked really worried and scared.

Alcide growled as he bit into the washcloth before removing it hanging his head for a moment as he fought with the pain before squirming away standing."Leave it alone. It'll stop bleeding in a few minutes."He said not wanting to be fussed over, puzzling over what he'd sensed about claire, but pain was making things to blurry to think."I need to shower. Than some sleep."He said snarling, as bad as a dog who'd been kicked. The only other time he'd really been seriously hurt was when he'd wrecked his car, and caire'd totally not been sympathic for a accident that she deemed was his fault.

Alec raised his eye brows, following her inside. "You shot him? Holy shit, you are bad at archery," she laughed, shaking his head. It was the first genuine smile he had since he arrived to the manor. He sat on a bar stool, slicking his blond hair out of his face and looking down at the bloody man. He winched, looking away. Unlike Grace, he didn't have the stomach for blood.

Claire pushed past them. "Alcide! Oh, God, are you okay?" she gasped, kneeling in front of him and cupping his face in her hands. She stroked his cheeks with her thumbs, biting her lip. "Are you okay? Can I do anything for you?" Grace rolled her eyes a little, shaking her head. "No, it won't stop bleeding in a few minutes. And a shower won't help," she said, trying to ignore Claire's fussing. For some reason, it bothered her. A lot.

Grabbing vodka, she poured it on to the wound to disinfect it, then began to stitch it together with the needle and thread, her eyes narrowing in concentration. "Be still!" she snapped at him.

Katra winced looing at the other man, blushing hard at his words."I know. Which was why Alcide was trying to teach me."She said sitting down next to alec, looking worried and slightly disgusted at claire's fussing. Wondering if it was for alcide's benefit or for grace's.

Alcide snarled softly at the touch, flinching away from grace's hands as she stitched his skin together, growlign at the woman in front of him. Focusing on his anger at claire instead of what was going on behind him even if he could feel the needle sliding in and out of his skin."Stop fussing. Pregnant woman shouldn't fuss this much.Espicially over a man not the father.Get away from me, claire. Now."Alcide snarled in to much pain both emtionally and physically to be kind to her.Even if he knew that he should be nicer and generally was nicer to her than anyone besides katra, he was hurt because she'd said she never wanted kids, and his shoulder was killing him. So he was angry, and the gruff and nasty part of his nature was starting to bleed out across the man who tried so hard to be kind despite not it being natural for him.

Claire's eyes grew wide, and she scrambled to her feet with a shocked/offended look on her face. "Wh-what? Alcide, I- I am not pregnant!" she snapped, "Stop acting like you can sense stuff like that. You're wrong!" She crossed her arms over her stomach and swallowed hard, turning and walking out of the room in a hurry. Grace watched her leave with raised eyebrows before going back to work on Alcide's would. It was deep, that was for sure, but with the stitches, it should heal okay... She closed it up and bandaged it neatly. "There," she said, pulling back and going to wash her hands of his blood. His suddenly snappy behavior caught her off guard, but it made her think about Claire's earlier words. Maybe he really was an asshole, and he was just putting up an act in front of her. But why would he be doing that?

Alec looked at her, his blue eyes glittering with amusement. "Yea, well, I think I'd give up on that sport. Once you nearly kill a guy.... I think it's a sign you should hang up the towel." He shrugged and moved off the stool, wiping his face and chest off with his shirt. "Why are you so intent on archery out of all things?" he asked, arching an eyebrow.

Jason yelped as he caught his girlfriend as she walked into him, hands resting on her arms as he looked down at her, anger flickering across his face. There was only one person who could upset her like this, yet alcide was usually better at avoiding doing so. No matter how much of a snarly annoying bastard he could be, the man was usually more... civil with the women in his life."What happened? What did he do?"He said already pulling away from her, intent on having a word with the death god

Alcide sighed softly raising a hand to brush his hair out of his face before whimpering softly at the action and switching hands."Thanks Grace."He said sounding cowed by claire's snapping. He knew he was a asshole, but he had loved her deeply once, no matter how much she had hurt him, he still loved her, even if he didn't want to. He was a man of strong feelings, even if it was anger he showed the most. Standing crefully he looked over at grace,"Can I get a shower now, nurse?"He said sounding sulky, because he hated being a patient, hated having someone fuss over him. He was just glad his mother wasn't in the room yet, though he knew he'd hear it eventually.

"Yes...maybe."Katra said though she looked so sad at the idea before looking over at him, blushing slightly as she watched him wipe off before looking away again, smiling. "I was artemis, goddess of the hunt, and archery. I should be able to do this! But even alcide can beat me!" "Everyone can beat you, rabbit."Alcide mused the light teasing under the words showing that he'd forgiven her for shooting him.

Claire's chin quivered and she leaned into him. "He seems to think I'm pregnant, I guess, and blurted it out in front of the entire room while demanding I get away from him," she snapped, "He's apparently so caught up with this new girl that he's being extra shitty to the rest of us... I'm not pregnant! I would know if I was. I promise."

Grace smirked a little, resting her now clean hands on her hips. "I suppose," she said, shrugged a little. She studied him as he stood, wondering what made the man so... moody. Sighing, she moved past her brother and Katra. "I'm going down to the library if anyone needs me. I need to get lost in a book." With that, she moved down the corridor and disappeared into the large, fancy library of her freaking dreams.

Alec tilted his head to the side. "Goddess of the Hunt, huh?" he said, looking... impressed. For the first time, he was no considering it being absolutely bull shit. He was a little... interested. "Well, there's lots of ways to hunt. They used archery back then because that was the only option." He shrugged. "Try guns or traps..." Walking around, he grabbed some orange juice out of the fridge, pouring a tall glass of it before gulping it down. "How long have you lived here?" he asked suddenly.

Jason growled softly, sighing softly as he stroked her hair, pressing a kiss to her head as he held her."I'll talk to him. He's got to learn that there's somethings you just don't say."Jason growled looking up at the man coming out of the kitchen, gently pushing claire away before stalking up towards the man, for once someone was nearly as tall as alcide, even if he wasn't as broad through the shoulders."What the fuck is wrong with you?Did you get dropped to many times as a child?" "Get away from me jason." "No. Where do you get off on telling claire something like that?"Jason growled shoving the man a little not realizing the man was in a even fouler mood than normal since he was hurt."By figuring it out when she touched me. Now move."Alcide growled pushing him back, and within moments the death god and lightening lord were duking it out in the hallway, both relieving the pent up anger that had been building since claire had dumped alcide, alcide having refused to confront the problem, or get in a fight with him. Having just avoided them both...but now he was hurt, angry and being pushed around, so the two men were soon on the floor fist fighting, ignoring hte blood that was smearing on the hard wood floors.

Katra nodded blushing a little before smiling."Yes, artemis."She said smiling at him before tilting her head biting her lip. Having asked about the archery because she knew that had been what alcide had known, but maybe...."Do you know how to make traps, or hunt?"She asked eagerly before looking startled at his question shrugging a little."A little under 8 months. Jason and claire've been here for about a year, and alcide's always lived here."

Claire screamed in both frustration and fear at the sight of the two men beating eachother senseless on the ground. "Stop! Stop! Alcide, you're going to hurt him! Stop," she pleased, tears streaking her cheeks. Maybe he was right. Maybe she was pregnant. Oh God, what were they going to do? She didn't know how to take care of children. In fact, she never saw herself having any despite the fact that Hera and Zues had many children in their day.

At the sound of screaming, Grace stopped halfway up the stairs, then moved slowly back down. Her eyes went wide at the fighting and the upset Claire, and she moved in to grab Alcide's arm, not taking into consideration that these men were twice as strong as her. She went to pull him away, but got in the way of Jason's punch that was directed toward Alcide's head. It struck her on the left side of the face, making her fall to the floor with a thud, hitting the wall behind her. She rubbed her face, wincing at the stinging sensation, but not crying. Grace was tougher than she looked. "

Alec shrugged and leaned against the counter. "Yea, I mean, I used to hunt with my dad when I was a kid. Well, before he left," he said, thinking about it for a moment. "I know the basics anyway. And I've got my gun license... So I can shoot. And trust me, a gun is a lot easier than a bow and arrow." He smirked at that and took another gulp of juice. "Are you really that worried about conforming your life to the goddess you are supposed to be?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. "I'd rather be my own person."

Alcide snarled in anger as grace fell, scrambling back as he looked down at the man on the floor, pulling his foot back to aim a kick at his ribs before stopping setting his foot down again. Even in his anger, his control was good enough to seriously hurt a man. Giving claire a look before bending down to pick up grace, glancing at claire."I wouldn't be so worried about me hurting him, claire. He's not the one who just got shot."He pointed out looking annoyed as he headed up the stairs with long steps grace settled ever so gently in his arms even if it hurt to carry her he was doing it. Nudging open the door to his bedroom, having not even thought about bringing her to her own room, gently settling her on the bed."Are you okay?"

Katra looked interested before frowning at his question.Shaking her head after a moment."Its not so much I want to...I feel the need to be with nature, to move within it. Alcide feels drawn to graveyards and the rivers, jason to thunderstorms, claire to helping people, women espicially...we're all drawn to what we once were."She said with a shrug smiling a little at him."Did you enjoy your run?"

Grace was a little surprised by him picking her up and carrying her. She wanted to protest and squirm and tell him she was okay and did not need to be carried like a child, but she was far too stunned by the action to do such a thing. She just looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows, even as he sat her on the bed. She reached up and rubbed her stinging face, looking up at the surroundings. Was this his bedroom? It was awfully small for such a large man... "I'm fine," she mumbled, keeping her hand on her face because if it was starting to bruise, she didn't want him to see. She was stubborn, maybe even more than he was, and he didn't want her to go on thinking she was a fragile little girl like the rest of the world. "You are the one who looks like Hell..." she said, arching an eyebrow.

Alec took her words into consideration, nodding carefully. At her question, he nodded. "Yea. The air is colder than I'm used to, but it was okay," he murmured, throwing his shirt over his shoulder. "I can show you how to set traps if you really want me to. I don't mind. I guess I'll be here for a while...." He shrugged, suddenly interesting in seeing what this girl was about. At least it was something to do while stuck in this house...

Alcide smiled slightly as he stood he did indeed look like a giant in the smaller room, while it was the smallest in the house, it was still a decent 10x12 room, it wasn't small it was just he was so big he filled the space. Which led to the question, it was his house, what the hell was he doing in the small room? Shaking his head a little he tried to clear his bleary vision, his ringing head before wiping the blood off his lip."It's not so bad. Jason probably looks worse, and its about time someone kicked his ass."He said absently as he moved to the dresser digging out a clean button up shirt sliding it on and focusing on buttoning it up, though he looked al itlte helpless doing it since his vision was getting blurry enough that he couldn't really see the buttons to do up.

Katra smiled happily before laughing."I swear the air here's colder than anywhere else in the world."she said smiling before nodding."I would like that. But not today. There's been enough drama today."he said before looking at jason as the man came in,"What happened to you?" "alcide happened to me."Jason growled as he went about getting a icepack for himself, annoyed at having alcide beat on him, and even more annoyed because claire was so upset about what he had said and the fight.

Grace watched him for a few moments, his eyes squinting and his hands fumbling with the shirt. She tried to not get involved, but damn, she had too. There was something about him that left her always going back for more, apparently. "Oh, come here," she snapped, standing up and moving his hands away. Gently, she started at the bottom and began slowly doing his shirt up. Her eyes were narrowed with concentration, her bottom lip caught between her teeth. When she got to the stop, her eyes rolled up to look at the much taller man. "Jason might look worse, but you look pretty bad," she said, tilting her head to the side. "And something about the way you could throw punches told me it was not your first fist fight."

Alec raised his eyebrows as Jason filed in, looking badly beaten and with a crying a sniffling Claire behind him. Claire led Jason into the living room, guiding him to sit down on the couch. She sat in his lap like she always did and helped put the ice on his eye. "Jason.... You don't think.... You don't think I really am, do you? I mean, should I take a test or something?" she asked, biting her lip nervously. "Hera and Zues had a lot of children... I guess I just thought it was something I could control... I take birth control..."

Alcide winced at her snapping at him, his shoulders slouching a little as he looked down at her doing up his shirt, stepping back so she wasn't touching him when she was done. "I feel pretty bad."He muttered after a moment sitting down on the edge of the bed reaching under the shirt, fingers gently feeling at the stitches, trying to see if he pulled any out before shrugging, wincing as he regretted the movement."No it wasn't."He said before looking down at the floor as he tried to focus better, when all he wanted to do was lay down."...Claire's right...I can't pretend to be something I'm not."He said looking so sad at the idea that mean and vicious was all he was, that there was nothing else for him.

Jason sighed softly before gently brushing her hair out of her face."I think Alcide enjoys yanking your chain when he's already pissed."He muttered holding her gently wincing as it hurt a little.Alcide sure knew how to beat on someone dammit."But you should take the test, just in case his talent for sensing things has grown...."He said while he didn't believe the man about sensing things, he wasn't willing to totally dismiss the idea that alcide could sometimes see things.

Grace watched him carefully, looking down at where he sat. Even with him sitting, they were nearly the same height. "I don't think you're an asshole," she sighed, leaning against his dresser. She reached up and tucked her hair behind her ears, not knowing exactly what to say. It took her a moment to find something in the back of her head that might be comforting to the man. "I guess we have that in common," she murmured, turning to look at her self in the mirror above the dresser. A bruise was already forming on her left cheekbone. "I'm always trying to convince people I'm not some fragile little... child. A glass flower... Something that needs to be put away and never touched, never harmed or exposed to the world. Of course, I haven't done a very good job at proving that to people." She shrugged and looked over at him. "Can't pretend I'm something I'm not, I guess."

Claire nodded, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Okay... I will," she said, kissing his cheek and relaxing with him, worry moving through her mind. Jason was such a flirty man. Would he move to the next girl if she was big and pregnant? She shuddered at the thought, frowning sadly. Would she even make a good mother? Would he be angry at her for getting pregnant? A sigh left her lips, and she reached up to move his hair out of his face.
