Evie laughed. "True... But I'm sure you make up for it in other ways!"

She walked back to her desk with Reed, and followed suit, switching off her machine, collecting the Glock from her bottom drawer and slipping the holster over her shoulder before picking up her jacket and putting that on over the top. When Reed asked if she wanted a ride, Evie looked a little puzzled. "I thought my Dad said you had a boat... King Habour? Marina del Rey is a 30 minute detour for you ... on a good day. Are you sure?" Reed said he was and so she accepted his offer.

The traffic wasnt too bad for that time of the afternoon and in the end it didnt take too long for them to reach Ocean Drive Walk in Marina del Rey.

"Thanks. You're welcome in for coffee if you like or if you dont mind pasta and chicken salad, you can stay for dinner."

Tom would gladly drive Evie home and he did. The car pulled up in front of Evie's apartment. She offered Tom coffee and dinner if he wanted it. This offer was totally unexpected and not something that Tom had planned on. Tom did accept Evie's offer on coffee and dinner, but he wouldn't stay long since they both had important work the next day. The two detectives had been on the job for the last 48 hours and they still had a killer to catch. Tom followed Evie from the car straight to her apartment. She unlocked the door then they went inside. Evie's apartment was beautiful, she had a wonderful view of the Marina and the ocean just beyond.

Tom was standing at the huge bay window looking out at the boats and ships moving around the marina. Evie had left him for only a few moments while she made so coffee. By the time Evie returned, Tom was sitting on her couch.

"Make yourself at home." Evie said over her shoulder as she walked in to the apartment and slipped her jacket off, throwing it carelessly over the back of a large brown soft leather couch. She walked over to a solid wooden desk which was set near one of the floor to ceiling windows. The desk was tidy; a large iMac set slightly to one side, the keyboard pushed back from the middle and some loose papers. Evie took no notice of what was on the desk; she walked around the far side of it, opened a drawer and, in a well rehearsed routine, she slipped the Glock and its holster into it, just like she did at work.

As she then walked back out from behind the desk, she looked at Reed and smiled. He seemed a little uncomfortable... a little lost in the unfamiliar surroundings; not sure of the rules of the house.

"Honestly... make yourself at home. The key to the door out onto the beach is just in that bowl there if you want some fresh air and sand! I'll put the coffee on." She pointed to a dish that sat in the middle of a coffee table and then she walked into the kitchen area. It was an almost open plan kitchen-dining room-sitting room and so even going into the kitchen didn't take her into a different room. Fifteen minutes later she set plates of chicken and pasta on the table, and salad in the middle, and the two of them ate while talking mostly about the case or their respective fathers. Afterwards, she poured out some fresh coffee and after a little more chat Reed thanked her for the meal and said his goodbyes, telling her to get a good night's sleep.

Tom was grateful for the fantastic meal Evie had made for them. It wasn't everyday that Tom got such a meal from anyone who was as beautiful as Evie is. He would return the favor and have her over for dinner some night. Tom was a pretty good cook for a single guy who lived on a boat. The 30 minute drive seemed to go by quickly as Tom thought about the how great the evening was. He pulled into the parking lot at Kings Harbor, from there it was just a short walk to his boat. This rest of Tom's evening was like any other. He had a beer, watched the news, then he started a new painting.

One of Tom's hobbies was painting pictures. He had a small part in the far corner of the area where his living room was for him to paint. Tom placed a new canvas onto the easel then he started to sketch an outline in charcoal. The outline was of a woman who was laying on a couch propped up by her left elbow. The sketch of this woman quickly became a naked and she started to look more and more like Evie. Tom continued working into the night as this woman took on more of how Evie really looked. He hadn't seen Evie's body naked, but after seeing her in that dress the other night, it wasn't hard to guess. Once the charcoal sketch was done, Tom called it a night. He crashed on his couch and slipped away into a deep sleep.

6 am seemed to come all to quickly and Tom dragged himself into the bathroom for a hot shower. After the shower, drying off and dressing, Tom had a quick cup of coffee and a muffin then he was out the door and heading for work. Tom made his usual stop at that diner for coffee which he got without trouble this morning. A short drive and he parked at the Central Station and went inside. It was 10 minutes before 8 am when Tom entered the squad room. He saw the figure of Lt. Finn hovering near a filing cabinet which was only a few feet from where Tom & Evie sit. Tom wasn't sure if Evie was here yet, or whether she was just coming in.

After Reed had left, Evie cleared away the dishes - which for the most part meant loading the dishwasher - and then had a shower and settled down in front of the TV with a mug of hot English tea. She watched the news, saw the report about the third killing... police have not yet given a statement... no clues... It was the type of news report that she had heard plenty of times before in relation to other stories. She couldn't help smile a little. This was the first time that she had been in the position where she knew more than the reporters did. In fact at the moment, only she and Reed knew who their main suspect was... only she and Reed knew that they even had a main suspect. Suddenly the image of Finn came into her head and she remembered the conversation with him in his office. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. It sounded like he was offering her a lot. Having a Lieutenant on your side was something that was hard to say no to. And all she needed to do was sell her soul in return. She smiled to herself and shook her head a little. She forced herself off the couch, switched the TV off and headed to bed.

The following morning she followed her usual routine. She got up and dressed quickly in a loose fitting t-shirt, shorts and running shoes and went for her usual 5k run along the beach. She picked up her usual morning coffee from a stand not too far from her apartmentment and then she went home, had breakfast and took her usual shower. By the time she had died off, dressed and was ready to go it was 7.30am. She picked up another coffee on the way to the bus and then she took the commute into work. She quite liked the bus ride. She knew it was stupid but it always gave her a feel for the city... the people who got on the bus or the neighbourhoods it went through. She didn't really speak to anyone other than a few 'Hi's and 'how are you this morning's' and nobody on the bus knew what she did for a living.

She walked into the squad room at about 8.00am and walked over to her desk. She slipped her gun into her desk drawer as always and then slipped her jacket off and put it over the back of her chair. She said her good morning to Reed and took a quick look at Finn who was stood looking through a file a short distance away.

Tom wasn't sure why Finn was hanging around the filing cabinet, but he didn't let that bother him. He just started his day by viewing some notes made during the early part of this investigation. Tom's desk phone rang which he answered. It was the hospital saying that Amber was doing much better. She would make a full recovery from the slash acrossed her neck. This was good news, now they had two girls who could identify the killer. Tom wasn't going to give Bolin another chance to kill anyone else. He was planning on busting the doctor today. Tom just wasn't sure how that would happen, but the day had just started and Tom would have a plan before to long.

Tom looked up as Evie came over to her desk. He thanked her again for a great dinner last night. Tom then said that whenever Evie was free, she could come to his place for dinner. All she had to do was pick a day and Tom would make it happen. A uniformed officer came walking passed Tom & Evie's desk. He told Tom that Lt. Tamura wanted too see him when he was free. Tom thanked the young officer then stood up and walked over then into Lesley's office. Lesley just wanted to know how the investigation on the Boulevard Killer was going.

She sat down, forcing herself to draw her attention away from Finn. Was he waiting for something? Was he expecting some kind of report from her already? She certainly wasn't prepared to stand there and tell him anything about what they had found out the previous afternoon and she didnt think he would ask her - at least not while Reed was there. Neither she nor Reed reported to Finn and if anyone was going to be told anything it was Tamura... not Finn.

When the phone rang, Evie watched Finn, heard his side of the conversation and it didn't take long to pick up the basic information. Amber was going to be okay. She would have a scar but in terms of how things could have finished up, it really was a small price to pay. The mental scars would probably be worse. When Reed finished the call and confirmed what she already suspected, she was about to ask whether Amber was up for visitors.... could they go and see whether she could give them anything that would confirm Bolin as the killer. Even something that would give them absolutely solid grounds for an arrest. But before she got the chance, the uniformed officer told him that the Lt. wanted to see him and he headed across the squad room to her office. That left Evie on her own at the desk. With Finn nearby. If Evie told Finn about Bolin... about his friend being a suspect... Finn would probably be very grateful but.... at this moment, it would be obvious to a blind man that the only person who could have told him was Evie. No-one else knew where they had gone or what they had seen or what the link was to the Boulevard killings. No. Evie wasn't stupid. Finn might think she was some naive probationary detective who he could play for a fool. But with her family background, she knew a lot more than her five years in uniform had taught her. And sooner or later, Finn was going to realise that too.

Finn watched as Tom walked away from his desk and went to Lt. Tamura's office. A sly smile slowly drew acrossed Finn's face as Tom disappeared inside. Finn placed the file he had been reading back into the cabinet, then he moved over to Evie's desk. " I've been thinking of all the ways we could help each other Evie. " Finn said in a low voice as he stood beside Evie's desk looking down on her. " We can help each other out in so many ways. " Finn continued as he leaned over and placed his right hand onto Evie's shoulder. " Why don't we meet for lunch and talk about all the things we can do for each other? " Finn asked as his sly smile quickly became a cocky one.

" You know that I'm in charge of Personnel and Public Relations.....I can get you Sergeant stripes a lot quicker then normal.......That would put you on the fast track to becoming Lieutenant.......Since we're already on the same page........I thought that becoming closer in and out of the office would be a great idea. " Finn added while his hand was rubbing at Evie's shoulder, then it slowly moved down her back. He was confident that Evie was on his side and ready to play ball so that she could rise up through the ranks quickly.

Evie tensed a little as Finn put the file away and walked the short distance across to the desk. Aware of him approaching she looked up and smiled.

"Morning Lieutenant"

Finn was a reasonably good looking man and for a man in his 40s he was wearing well; the problem was that he thought he was God's gift. From Evie's point of view, he overcompensated hugely for the fact that he was of limited stature!

"Lunch?" she spoke quietly, looking up at him. She couldn't help herself wondering unkindly whether this was one of the few situations when he ever had women looking up at him... When he was standing and they were sitting. At that moment she couldn't quite decide whether he was just trying to find an opportunity to get information from her or whether he was actually coming on to her. Or indeed whether it was both. "That's very kind of you Lieutenant. I'm not sure what Reed has in mind today... We might not be around at lunch time but... Erm... I guess... If I'm in the station then we could..."

She was surprised by Finn's touch. Surprised that he would touch her like that in public... In the open. It was still a little early and the squad room wasn't busy, but there were others around including Webb who hadn't missed the fact that Finn was there talking to her. Then when he suggested getting closer in and out of the office... That was definitely a come on. Evie had heard tenough chat up lines... She tensed a little more, and her back arched a touch as she felt his hand move down her back. She couldn't possibly imagine a situation where she would ever "become closer" with a man like Finn. But career minded women obviously did plenty of strange things and Finn obviously had those expectations in mind. She couldn't help but wonder whether he had played this game with other young female officers... And if he had, where were those women now? Did he follow through on his promises? She kept smiling at Finn as his hand worked its way over her back.

"Thank you Lieutenant."

Finn's smile became even more cocky looking as Evie accepted his offer for lunch if she was around the station. He leaned down a little bit more and explained that he was thinking of somewhere more private for their lunch. Somewhere that they could be alone without anyone to bother them. Finn then suggested that perhaps they could meet at Evie's place for a late lunch? He said that she could sign out a unmarked car from the station and meet him later. Finn even told Evie that he could make sure that she was free. He would have Reed report somewhere by himself which would free up time for Evie.

Finn wasn't trying to had the fact that he wanted more from Evie then just information on Tom Reed. He wanted Evie in his bed as well as a informant on the force. Reed wasn't the only black eye on the department and Finn was looking to get rid of many others. His hope was that Evie would become his partner in cleaning out those who give the department a bad name. " All you gotta do is say yes.......And I'll make everything happen for you.......We need some alone time.......Some time to get to know each other better. " Finn said as his hand still rubbed against Evie's back.

Evie swallowed hard. She wasn't entirely sure that she wasn't getting herself in too deep here. She needed to be sure she could extracate herself from any situation ... Finn at her place... 'late lunch'. She looked nervously around the room but no-one seemed to be taking any notice as far as she could see. Her place? did Finn know where her place was? Had he already checked it out from her file? His hand moved a little lower and Evie couldn't deny that his touch felt quite good. She squirmed a little in her seat as she looked back up at him. Where was he going to send Reed? Another appointment with Bolin? Surely not? Although Reed might welcome that right now. And maybe... Maybe she could try and get some information from Finn on Bolin? The idea started to formulate in her head and her smile broadened for a moment. Then she realised that Finn might see that smile as something else and she let it slip away until just the hint of it remained around her mouth.

"You erm... You can really make things happen... You'd do that... For me? I guess... I guess it would be okay"

The smile on Finn's face grew even wider when Evie agreed to their late lunch. Finn hardly cared about food for his late lunch and he felt that Evie understood what he was talking about. Finn had checked into Evie's file when she agreed to help him, so he knew right where her place was. " Great!.....I'll make sure Reed is busy and you'll be free......I'll meet you at your place.......Around 1:30? " Finn asked, but he didn't wait for an answer. He noticed that Reed was moving towards the door of Lesley's office. He let his hand drop down to just above Evie's ass. " We'll make a great team.......You and I........I'll make sure that you enjoy your late lunch. " Finn said as he rose up then started to walk away from Evie's desk. He gave her a wink and a lustful smile as he did this.

Finn was already thinking of how great sex with Evie was going to be. He was going to fuck her and make her his own private bitch. This of course was always part of Finn's plan. Evie would help him nail the scum of the department and he would fuck Evie on the side. The way Finn looked at this....it was win....win and he came out on top.

Tom left Lesley's office after filling her in on what was happening. Of course he didn't give her any details on who the killer was, but he did say that the killer wouldn't strike again. Tom was planning on busting Bolin today....he wasn't waiting any longer. The walk from Lesley's office to where Tom & Evie sat was a short one. Tom did notice Finn hanging around Evie, this did make him wonder what was up? " Finn giving you a hard time about getting the unmarked shot up? " Tom asked as he came up to his desk then sat down.

Evie looked up and smiled. For a moment she wondered whether she should say anything to Reed but she really didn't want him to think that he couldn't trust her. Something like that this early in their professional relationship could take years to recover from.

"No... Thankfully, although that still might come. But I think he'll blame you not me!" she laughed a little. It wasnt hard to imagine Finn taking every opportunity he could to hold Reed accountable for anything and everything. And he was her training officer after all.

"So what's the plan? Are we going to arrest... Him... This morning."

Tom shook his head when Evie asked if they were arresting him this morning. He knew quite well who the him was that Evie spoke of. It was good for Tom too see that Evie didn't have a loose tongue. A case like this one could be blown if word leaked out about Doctor Bolin being the prime suspect. Tom quietly told Evie that their visit with Doctor Campbell would come first. He felt that Stacy Campbell was a key link to why Bolin became a real life Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Tom just wasn't sure at this point how she fit into this case, but both he & Evie would soon enough. Their visit to Doctor Campbell would be an eye opener. Tom said that they would wait until after speaking with Stacy before acting. While it was true that they had enough to pull Bolin in for questioning and could hold him if Megan & Amber could identify him as the killer. Tom wanted more, he wanted the so called smoking gun, he wanted to catch Bolin in the act. Then no one could say that Bolin was innocent.

Tom & Evie caught up on some paperwork while they waited for time to pass by. When it did and it was time to go, Tom looked up at Evie. " We better get going.......The appointment with Doctor Campbell is an hour from now.....And the way noontime traffic can be........We'll need most of that hour just to get there. " Tom said somewhat jokingly, but he was right about traffic being heavy around LA at this time of day. He stood up reaching into the right outside pocket of his suit coat. " You can drive Cupcake. " Tom said as he tossed the car keys to Evie while giving her a wink. He was getting a kick out of teasing Evie with part of her nickname. But his teasing was always good natured and never meant to downgrade Evie in anyway.

As they sat working away, Evie's mind switched between trying to decide whether to tell Reed about Finn - about his proposition and about their intended rendezvouz at her place - and thinking about what they hell might happen at that rendezvouz. She had played this all wrong. She had gotten herself into something she really wasn't sure how she was going to get out of... and if she couldn't get out of it then things were just going to get worse. She shifted a little in her seat, remembering how his hand felt at the bottom of her spine and remembering the grin on his face and the look in his eye.

When Reed broke the silence and said that they needed to go, she looked up and nodded. She collected her gun from the drawer and slipped on her jacket, smiling a little as he called her 'cupcake'. She caught the keys that were tossed gently in her direction. There was no doubt that that was going to stick. And if he used it then it wasn't going to take place before everyone in the squad room was using it. The two of them walked down to the police garage and got into the car. Evie turned on the engine and then hesitated. She stared out of the front window for a moment, and then looked at Reed. Then she turned the engine off and turned a little in her seat in his direction.

"There's something you need to know." She hesitated, drew a breath and exhaled slowly. "Yesterday... after we got back here... after I got changed... Finn stopped me. He erm... he wanted a friendly conversation. He took his time about getting to the point, but he laid out a... a potential career path... for me. And how he could make it happen... if I... " she paused and stared at him again, wondering whether he would finish her sentence. When he didn't and just looked back at her expressionless, she carried on. "If I keep him informed of anything that I think he might want to know. About... the case... other cases... cops... bad cops... you." She waited again to see if there was going to be any immediate reaction. Part of her really wanted something here, but when she again got nothing, she kept going.

"I... I haven't told him anything. I swear. And you know that... if I did what Finn expected, my Dad would... you know what he'd do. And when he had finished, then Steve and James would take their turns. I'm not going to buy a promotion by giving Finn information that he wants. But... I... I started thinking...He came this morning... asked to see me again... " she looked at her watch. "In a couple of hours. He said he would... find something else for you to do which would leave me free to...meet him. I thought maybe... maybe I could see whether he knows anything... about Bolin I mean. They're friends. We already know that Finn got Bolin the job. Maybe he's... I don't know... but... what if... I mean I could... Will you please say something?"

She finally stopped rambling and stared at Reed, chewing her lower lip, eyes wide and expectant.

They say that the truth shall set you free and in many cases that is so. Evie had just unloaded something very unexpected onto Tom. He sat in stunned silence as Evie spoke to him about Finn's plans to make her into an inner department spy. Hearing what Finn was up to hardly shocked Tom. He knew that Finn was a snake in the grass who was just trying to make himself look good by taking out any cop who Finn felt was wrong for the department. Tom was a little bothered that Finn choose Evie as his tool to spy on not only Tom, but other officers as well. Trust between partners is key. It's just as important as communication. Partners can not work together if they don't have both of these factors. Lose either one of these important keys and the partnership is gone. Tom respected Evie as a fellow officer. He knew that she was good at her job, he even thought if Evie as a friend who could be counted on when the chips were down. For 10 years Tom and Evie's dad Jack worked the streets of Los Angeles taking down all manner scumbags who preyed on the innocent. They had formed a bond that couldn't be broken even though Jack had moved on after becoming a Lieutenant.

In the past few years, Tom had even worked closely on a few cases with Steve & James who were Evie's older brothers. Becoming close to a partner's family was easy over a decade of working together. It was still very easy for Tom too see Evie as she once was. He could still see her as that pretty girl who was very much the tomboy. Evie was more comfortable roughhousing with her brothers or other boys then she was playing with dolls and wearing dresses. Jack had always kept an old picture of Evie in his locker. This picture showed Evie at the young age of 10 years old and she was wearing her father's old uniform hat while wearing a toy badge and gun. Those days were long gone now since Evie had grown into a pretty young lady. She had traded in that toy badge and gun for the real thing. Now here she was partnered with her father's former long time partner and friend.

Tom showed no expression on his face or in his eyes as he looked at Evie. She had just exposed something that could easily shatter the trust which was building between her and Tom. There were people on the force who would turn their backs on Evie for admitting that she had spoken with Finn even though she wasn't going to help him. This kind of thing could cast doubt on whether Evie could be fully trusted, but Tom knew her father. He knew that Jack didn't teach his kids to be backstabbers. The Taylor Family was and had always been a loyal bunch, not only to themselves, but to those around them. Respect, honesty, integrity were taught by Jack and his wife to their children. These were lessons that the kids learned well and carried with them.

Tom just stared at Evie when she asked for him to say something, but how does one respond to this unveiling of truth? It may have seemed like a long time before Tom answered Evie, but it was only about 30 seconds. " What you just said was very brave........You showed your true character by admitting what Finn was trying to get you to do. " Tom said as his left hand slowly moved over from where it had been in his lap. His hand ended up just above the right knee of Evie's leg. " I have great respect for the work you've done.......You've followed in your father's footsteps and continued with the family business.....I have faith in you and trust you with my life......And as your father can tell you......My trust is not easily earned or is it just given out. " Tom said while smiling at Evie. He wanted to put her at ease about what she had just said. It was then that Tom noticed that his hand wasn't just resting upon Evie's leg, it was lightly squeezing and rubbing along her lower thigh. Tom cleared his throat while feeling embarrassed over his actions. He pulled his hand away from Evie's leg. It was clear to him that he was allowing himself to look past who Evie was. Tom wasn't seeing a fellow officer, or even Jack's daughter. He was seeing just how pretty Evie had grown over the years and that was very shocking to Tom. " Ahummm.....We had better go.........Doctor Campbell will be expecting us........And we have a killer to catch. " Tom said as he returned his hand to his lap and looked straight out the windshield. His cheeks were showing just a hit of blush from how easily he had found himself lost in Evie and the woman she had become.

Evie couldn't deny she was relieved when Reed finally spoke. And she also couldn't deny that she liked the way his hand felt on her knee as he placed it there while he told her that she had showed character. She took a deep breath and with hindsight, she was now more than pleased that she had finally made up her mind to tell Reed and to tell him everything... well everything other than the fact that she was pretty sure Finn was looking for a little more than just information from her - but there was no need for him to know that - and for all she knew at this time, that was in her imagination. The late lunch would confirm that one way or another and she would just have to deal with it.

When Reed did remove his hand and it was obvious that he was a little embarrassed at what he had done, Evie decided not to mention it, but she couldn't help smiling a little to herself as she turned and fired up the ignition. "Where am I going then? Where is the good Doctor's place of business?" Once Reed told her, she pulleed out of the police garage and into the bright sunlight of another LA day. "So... am I going to say anything to Finn... tell him that we think it's Bolin? Maybe I could find out how come the two of them are friends? Hey... you don't think Finn is a patient do you... maybe of Bolin's private practice?"

For a few minutes after Evie pulled out of the station and into the streets, Tom 's mind was filled with images of how hot Evie looked in that black dress. She certainly had a great looking and very fit body. Evie didn't have big boobs or a huge ass, but it was obvious from the money she made that night that men liked what they saw. The other detectives in the squad room that night sure expressed their enjoyment at seeing Evie's body on display. Tom wondered what Evie would think if she knew that his cock had been as hard as a rock that night. Even now, Tom was fighting against letting his cock grow so hard that it would show. Everyone knew that sex between partners was frowned upon and with Finn out for his blood, Tom felt that the risk was to great.

Tom looked over at Evie when started talking about Finn and what she should say. Tom felt that saying anything to Finn about Bolin being a suspect was a mistake. Saying the wrong thing to Finn would end up destroying all the work Tom & Evie had just done. Finn would mostly say something to his friend and Bolin would change his tactics or stop killing. This was the point in their investigation where Tom & Evie couldn't have any slip ups. He told Evie not to say that to Finn about Bolin being a suspect, she could however find out about their friendship. Tom also said that Evie should ask whether Finn was a patient of Doctor Bolin. She could also ask about how the two men met. There was plenty of information that Evie could find out from Finn about Bolin without putting their investigation in danger.

In time the two detectives soon found themselves parked in front of the building where Doctor Stacy Campbell had her office. Tom & Evie left their car and walked into the building. A few minutes later, the two detectives where standing in Doctor Campbell's outer office. They flashed their badges and told Stacy's secretary who they were. She asked Tom & Evie to sit while she called Doctor Campbell on the phone. While waiting, Tom still wondered what was setting Bolin off? There had to be something that was causing him to become a cold blooded killer. It wasn't until Stacy opened the door of her inner office and stepped out introducing herself to Tom & Evie that they understood why Bolin would kill those girls on Tuesday nights.

Stacy Campbell was 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighted 130 lbs. She looked to be in her early to mid 20's, but she was really in her mid 30's. The most striking feature about Doctor Campbell was that she was blonde and looked very much like Bolin's ex wife. Stacy welcomed the two detectives then she invited them into her office. She waited until both detectives were inside before Stacy closed the door then moved over and sat down in her chair which was behind her desk. Stacy asked why the two detectives wanted to meet with her? To which Tom responded that they believed that Doctor Bolin was the Boulevard Killer. Stacy started to shake her head saying that she couldn't talk about a patient without a court order. It was obvious to Tom that Doctor Campbell wasn't going to help them, so he decided to push her. Tom reached into the inside of his coat pocket and tossed crime scene photos of both Michelle and Sheryl's dead bodies. These pictures showed just how brutal Bolin had hacked the throats of the two girls. Tom tossed another one down, this one showed the wound on Amber's throat. The last picture was of Bolin's ex wife, Tracy. This picture of Tracy had been taken after the first time had beaten his wife and put her into the hospital.

It was clear from the expression on Stacy's face that she was moved by seeing these women. She was shaken to her core since they all looked alike and they all looked like her. " I should have said something long ago. " Stacy started to speak as her hand came up to her mouth, she had suddenly felt sick. It took a few moments before Stacy could speak again, but when she did, she explained everything. She had diagnosed Doctor Bolin as a Sociopath. He was Cunning & manipulative, he was emotionally shallow. Bolin also showed a glibness & superficial charm along with having a grandiose sense of self-worth. Doctor Bolin was Callous and showed lack of empathy as well as a lack of remorse or guilt for anything that he would do or say. Stacy rose up from her chair then walked over to a filing cabinet which was sitting with four others just behind her. She opened one of the drawers then pulled out a file. Stacy handed that file to Evie, this file showed all of the tests that Stacy had done on Bolin. It showed all the transcripts of their meets where Bolin would blame his wife for every bad thing that happened in his life. Nothing was ever Bolin's fault, his wife was the real reason why he wasn't as rich as he should be, or as successful. Many times during their meets Bolin would become angry with the questions Stacy was asking. He would then blow up at her and even called her a filthy whore a number of times. There were even times during their meets where Bolin called Stacy by his wife's first name when yell at her.

Evie nodded to what Reed was saying as she drove out to Dr. Campbell's practice. It aall made perfect sense, particularly when they weren't entirely sure at that moment when exactly they would be arresting Bolin. Finn certainly couldn't be trusted not to say anything; Evie could imagine he would take great pleasure in telling Bolin how stupid some Detectives were by considering that he could possibly be a suspect. Of course it was always true that friends could be blind to the reality of an individual's character. How many times had she interviewed friends and neighbours and heard the complete shock that so-and-so could have committed the crime. And sometimes even cops denied all of the available evidence in defence of a partner.... once or twice they were right too, but then that just showed that IA cops were bad cops. She had lost count of the number of times she had heard her Dad complaining about Internal Affairs. Bad... untalented... cops who wanted rapid promotion went to IA. And because they were untalented, all too often their investigations were shoddy and missing key pieces of information.

She brought her attention back to what Reed was saying. keep the lunch time appointment with Finn... don't mention Bolin as a suspect... try and find out about Finn's friendship with him though. Hmmmm.... that one might be a fine line to walk.

She pulled up outside the doctor's office and followed Reed inside. As soon as they saw Dr Campbell, both of them knew why Tuesday nights had become crime night. No-one needed to be a detective to work that one out. As they sat in the doctor's private office, her refusal to give them any information on Bolin was no surprise. When Reed starting pushing her but showing her the photographs however was a surprise. Evie looked across to him, trying not to show her surprise. Doctor-patient confidentiality was as strong as that between a lawyer and his client. Anything which Dr. Campbell gave them would be inadmissible and anything which came from it was fruit of the poisonous tree and was also inadmissible. In all probability of course, they would have plenty of evidence from elsewhere, but it meant they had to be careful.

Evie took the file from the doctor and looked through it; lots of test results.... long transcripts... all of it confirmed pretty much what she and Reed knew before they arrived and then as soon as Stacy Campbell had walked out.

Tom's gamble of pushing Doctor Campbell had worked perfectly. Stacy had even agreed to help the detectives in anyway that she could. This made Tom's mind start to work at warp speed. He was already deep in thought of how to trap Doctor Bolin. Tom knew that if Bolin felt that Doctor Campbell was a threat to him, he wouldn't hesitate to try and kill her. Of course Tom wouldn't let that happen, so a decoy would be needed. Tom thanked Stacy for her offer to help them. He then laid out a detailed plan on how they would catch Bolin in the act. Tom, like Evie had a feeling that Finn would have his good friend Doctor Bolin distract him while Finn met with Evie. This would give Tom the chance to bait Bolin during their meeting. Later that night if everything went as planned, Evie and Tom would be at Stacy's office. Stacy would also be there when Bolin arrived. Then at some point a switch would be made, Stacy would duck out while Evie dressed to look like Stacy would step in. Then when Bolin made his move to kill what he thought was Doctor Campbell, Evie & Tom could bust him.

This plan was dangerous, but it was sound and pretty much the easiest way to catch Bolin in the act. Once Bolin was in custody, Megan and Amber who saw Bolin could identify him as the killer. Then the last nail in Bolin's coffin would be added by the crime scene techs who would go over every piece of clothing Bolin had for DNA evidence along with his black Chevy Tahoe. Tom said that he would call Stacy later on to set up their stakeout of her office. Evie & Tom then left and returned to their car. Just as both had thought, dispatch had a message from Finn telling Tom to call him. Tom did call Finn and found out that he had an appointment with Doctor Bolin which was set for 1:30. This time was the same time that Finn had set for his meeting with Evie at her place.

Tom drove Evie back to the Central Station where he dropped her off. Evie would pick up an unmarked police car from the garage and use it to drive back to her place. Finn had left the station just after speaking with Reed. He couldn't wait any loner to get his hands on Evie's hot body. He was planning on Evie becoming his regular fuck buddy. At no point did the thought that Evie would say no cross Finn's mind. Finn felt that he was clear enough on what he wanted from Evie and what he would do for her in return. Finn sat in his car just waiting for Evie to arrive home for their late lunch.

Evie replayed the plan through in her head a few times as they walked back to the car. She had never actually met Bolin; they were both at the funeral yesterday but she wasn't sure that they had been in the same room at the same time. Of course there was nothing to say that he hadn't seen her or that someone hadn't pointed her out. But the plan wasn't about her trying to pretend to be Campbell other than to look like her enough to make Bolin attack her.her mind suddenly went back to all though defences classes in the Academy. To be fair they didn't really teach her anytthing that she hadn't learnt long before from the men in her family. And in fact, they had taught her a lot of much more useful things which weren't in the Police Handbook. She just needed to be vigilant... not too over confident. A sociopath with a knife hell bent on killing you was not something to take lightly.

Reed walked around to the drivers side and Evie tossed him the keys. She climbed into the car and as Reed checked them in, she heard the message from dispatch. A 1.30 appointment. Evie and Reed looked at each other as the message was being relayed, a knowing look on both their faces. Evie felt a small knot in her stomach at the prospect of the lunch date she was about to have. When Reed dropped her off, she headed for the garage office and booked out another unmarked Crown Vic and drove back to her place. As she drove towards her appartment building, she saw the car parked a little up from it, with Finn stood outside minus his jacket and tie, leaning on the passenger's door. As parked up behind his car, and then climbed out, she watched him push himself off the car, the hint of a smile playing around his mouth.

"Lieutenant. I... I hope you haven't been waiting long." She smiled at him as she walked up to the front door of the building, conscious of him stepping in behind her and following. She walked up to her own front door, unlocked it, looking back over her shoulder as she did so, still smiling, feeling the butterflies in her tummy going into overdrive.

"Come on in... I'll see what I can find us for some lunch." She went through her usual routine without even thinking about it - on automatic pilot; her jacket off and over the couch, her gun in the drawer of her desk, and then she headed into the kitchen, conscious of Finn looking around for a few moments, before walking over to the full length windows and door which opened out onto the beach.

Finn reassure Evie that he hadn't been waiting long as they walked towards her front door. Once Evie had opened the door and Finn was now inside of her apartment, he looked around. His eyes scanning the objects that sat upon things or were hanging from the walls. Finn moved towards the large window standing there for only a moment before he headed for the kitchen. " You really don't have to make anything for lunch.......We both know why we are here. " Finn said as he moved into the kitchen while slowly undoing the buttons on the front of his white dress shirt. He moved up to where Evie was standing as he pull his shirt free from his pants. Finn removed the pistol that he wore on his hip and placed it onto the counter. " Would you like to start in here......Or should we go to your bedroom? " Finn asked as the blood was racing down to his cock making it grow inside of his pants.

Tom arrived at Bolin's office just as Finn had wanted. He had started the meeting with Bolin, but the meeting quickly turned into a verbal joist. It became clear to Doctor Bolin that Sergeant Reed had something on his mind which had nothing to do with their on going argument about his father. Bolin acting as nicely as he could told Reed to speak his mind. This made Tom smile then he walked towards the Doctor Bolin who was standing at a large window looking down at the city. " You want to know what's on my mind?.........I'll tell you what's on my mind.........Michelle Turner and Sheryl Briggs are on my mind. " Tom said in a gruff and angry voice. He could see that Bolin's face had just gone white as a sheet. " Those girls were cut up by a sick son of a bitch who gets his rocks off killing innocent women. " Tom's voice was powerful and still held and angry tone. Bolin spun around looking at Reed when he said that those girls were innocent. Bolin laughed then said that none of those filthy girls who walk the streets are innocent! They're all guilty of being whores Bolin said as his own voice had quickly become angry. Bolin looked down at the floor then he walked over and sat down in a large leather chair.

Tom saw the look in Bolin's eyes, he was on the edge and almost ready to snap. While Bolin sat in the chair, Tom slowly started to circle him like a shark eying up it's prey. " I spent time with Doctor Campbell today.......She's a damn fine looking woman........Very much like those girls who were killed..........Funny thing how they all seem to look like your ex wife. " When Tom first spoke Stacy's name, Bolin's head almost snapped off as he turned quickly towards him. Then when Tom brought up his ex wife, Bolin turned away. " Your wife......She's a hot looking piece of ass........I'll bet she really get's around. " Tom said as he came to a stop then knelt down beside Bolin. He could see that Bolin's hands were shaking and the Doctor was sweating. " Doctor Campbell looks a lot like your ex wife.......Both so hot and pretty.......I'll bet Doctor Campbell gets around also. " Tom said then he heard Bolin say that Stacy was a whore just like his ex wife.

That was the moment when Tom said that he knew Bolin was the Boulevard Killer. Bolin seemed quite shocked, but didn't deny what Tom had just said. Tom said that Stacy was going to help him nail Bolin's ass to the wall. Bolin sat in his chair shaking as if the room had become like a freezer. " Stacy found out all about your Tuesday night work Bolin........She came to me and told me the truth.......I'll be on your ass everyday from the time you get up to the time you go to sleep.......When you look into your rear view mirror........I'll be there.........When you go take a crap.......I'll be in the next stall......And after you get done with Stacy on Tuesdays......I'll be watching for ya on the streets........That urge to kill will come over you.......But you won't be able to do it......Because I'll be there! " Tom's voice was more powerful and gruffer then it every had been while speaking with Bolin. Doctor Bolin was shaking badly, his whole body was trembling like a leaf in a heavy wind. " When I put you away.....This city will have Doctor Stacy Campbell to thank........You know......They'll probably make Stacy the new police department's shrink after you've been locked up. " Tom said with a loud laugh which made Bolin drop his head into his hands. With Bolin right at the point where Tom wanted him, Tom slowly stood up. He moved away from Bolin towards the office door. " I'll have to ask Stacy how and where she saw you..........Makes me wonder if she was working on the streets during her off hours. " Tom said as he slowly turned towards Bolin.

As Tom left the office, Bolin's head rose up from his hands. His eyes burning with hatred. Yes, Stacy was a common whore! She was worse then his ex wife! Stacy was trying to take away his job working for the police department! Stacy was trying to take everything away from him! She must have seen him and saw what he did to those girls......Stacy needed to die and it had to happen tonight! Bolin's mind was working overtime on what he thought was the truth. He would see to it that Stacy didn't tell anyone else about what he had done. She also wouldn't get his job, he would see her dead before that would ever happen.

Evie looked at him as he approached, undoing his shirt and showing the white t-shirt underneath. She felt herself stiffen a little, her heart rate suddenly hiking up a dozen or so beats a minute.

"What... oh... OH... you think... we... oh...." Evie wasn't really surprised by Finn's actions; he hadn't exactly left much unsaid this morning - other than the damn obvious. But if Finn thought she was naive... maybe even a little stupid then that might incline him more towards making a mistake and saying more than he might otherwise. He smiled at her and came up and stood right in front of her. He lifted his right hand and placed it on her waist whilst the fingers of his left hand drew down Evie's cheek. Evie's right hand moved to his waist and her left to his arm.

"I told you... we could do good work together... and... and I can get you where you want to be. Make your father proud of how quickly you get those Sergeant stripes." He leaned in and kissed her softly on the mouth. Evie didn't respond. She was pretty sure that if she got her rank that quickly, pride would not be something that he father would be experiencing. He would be pretty damn sure that something improper had happened. But whilst Evie didn't at that point respond, she didn't pull away either, and Finn continued, kissing her chin and then her neck, pulling her closer to him. Still she didn't pull away but simply tipped her head back, opening her neck up to him.

"So if I ... help you... help you clean up the Department... then... then you'll help me?"

"Absolutely." His was talking almost into her neck and he continued to kiss, tasting her perfume. "I look... after my friends... I look after my people." She felt his hand moving around to the small of her back and then down over her ass.

"There are... others in the Department... others who ... help you... like this?" she asked. Finn stopped what he was doing and looked at her, smiling. "There is no-one in the Department who helps me LIKE THIS, but yes, I have people who are equally committed to our cause." He leaned in and kissed her again on the mouth, this time a little harder and this time, Evie did respond, kissing him back if not quite so eagerly. "Come on Evie... lets go somewhere where we can be a little more comfortable. You know I can give you what you want... in so many ways. And I know you want ths." Evie couldn't deny that with the kissing and with Finn's hands moving over her ass that she was getting turned on.... just a little. But now she had to make a decision. Was she really prepared to sleep with the guy to see whether she could get some information about him and Bolin. She thought back to two nights before... on the Boulevard... with Lewis... and... whatever the second guy was called. How far had she gone then? Meanwhile Finn had stepped back and, talking both of her hands, was starting to walk backwards, leading her out of the kitchen, suspecting that the bedroom would be off the lounge somewhere. Evie hesitated for a moment, leaning back away from his gentle pull, very much playing the coy naive girl, but as Finn took a few more paces she smiled and gave in, letting him lead her back into the lounge and then leading him through to the bedroom. One 'wall' was more floor to ceiling windows, with full length blinds. One of the short walls was fitted wardrobes and then coming from the back wall, stretching out into the middle of the room was a large king size bed. The room was light, airy, simple. She didn't need anything else. Almost as soon as they stepped inside, Finn pulled her towards him and kissed her hard, whilst his left hand moved to the buttons on her blouse, deftly and quickly undoing them. She kissed him back, now giving him every indication that she was as turned on by this as he was. And the truth be told, she wasn't that far off, even though she was still looking to do a job and get some information.

Evie's actions may have seemed naive to her, but to Finn, Evie's actions seemed more playful. He thought that she was just playing innocent which was a real turn on to Finn. It seemed as if Finn had taken control of how this was playing out. He had led Evie out of the kitchen then allowed her to lead him into her bedroom. Finn quickly regained the control he allowed Evie to take. She was soon in his arms and his lips were pressed against hers. This kiss was deeper then the others. His tongue flicked against Evie's lips until they parted just enough for his tongue to enter between her lips.

Finn's hands moved over Evie's body then worked downwards until they reached her ass. His hands roughly grouped at Evie's athletic ass. This was all going just as Finn had wanted. So far Evie seemed to be a willing participant and Finn felt so that they would soon be fucking in her bed.

Tom could see that Doctor Bolin had slipped over the edge. Bolin's body was shaking, he was sweating and mumbling to himself about having to take care of Stacy before she can take away everything he had. Tom quickly left Bolin's office and returned to his car. He placed a phone call to Stacy telling her that the bait had been set and the trap was ready. Tom was sure that Bolin would wait and stew until night time had fallen. Once that happened Bolin would strike out at Stacy. She would be at her office, this is where the trap would be. Tom just had to wait until Evie made contact with him. He just hoped that she hadn't bitten off more then she could chew.

Finn held her close; pulled her body firmly against his. And his hands seemed to be everywhere. Before she knew it, her pants and blouse were undone and the blouse was half off her shoulder. She moaned softly as his tongue moved in her mouth, dancing with her.

"Wait...wait..." she pushed at Finn's shoulders but all she succeeded in doing was breaking the mout to mouth contact. Finn continued kissing at her chin and neck. "Should we really being doing this Lieutenant... maybe we should... I mean... if anyone found out? Reed? Or... Or Bolin? He might... he might start looking... for your badge too." Finn was still kissing his way down, her neck and onto her upper body. She felt him pull at the top edge of her bra as he kissed the swell of her left tit. At the same time his right hand began to slip down over her abdomen, over her panty covered mound and between her legs, making her moan.

"Dont worry... about Reed... he'll be gone... soon enough. As for Bolin..." Finn finally stopped kissing her and stood upright again, but left his hand between her legs. He smiled at her. "Bolin and I go way back. He's a friend of mine. I should introduce you to him... I think you'd like him and I know he'd like you. Now..." Finn let her go and took off his own shirt and started undoing his pants, slipping his shoes off as he did so. "... why don't you stop worrying that pretty little head of yours. You keep me informed of the things that might potentially damage the department and I'll look after you... in every way that matters... on the job... and... off it." He stepped out of his pants, leaving them on the floor and moved close to her again taking hold of her at her waist, kissing her on the mouth and walking her backwards towards the bed. Evie had run out of ideas as to how she might easily be able to get out this without sending up any red warning flags to Finn. She mentally braced herself and then kissed him back more hungrily that she had at any time up to that point. She slipped her own blouse off and reached behind her and unhooked her bra as she continued to let him move her backwards, kissing him hard, moaning.
