The story so far;

human kind has taken over the galaxy, immense cruisers trawl the stars, entire planets have been covered in steel and glass to make factory worlds, huge gates to the immatirum stand as warp points between solar systems, and all is calm, on a distant isolated spiral on the galaxy's northern edge someone finds a planet, this planet is much like earth, except all the flora and fauna is sentient, and as well there are 'human' like creatures exept they seem more animal, the most commonly documented types are big cat like humans in the jungles, dragon-human's in the mounties and almost every thing else. these creatures seem much like the humans exept they are part animal. four genourations later and humans and 'kehildron' as they call themselves live in harmony, the very best piolets are kehildron since they have higher raction times, and so are the top geologists and natrualists, anything to do with nature or that requires high speed abilites falls to the kehildron, in return humans provide science and learning. it is eutopia for both kinds. untill, a lone space station spots a unknown ship on its scanners, it is made from some dark metal with a green energy feild, it glides with no clear form of propultion, smaller ships orbit round it, bound by beams of green energy. Next thing people know, the space station is gone, all sines of life eradicated, quickly people relise that this ship is not alone, there are thousands, a armada, but not of liveing creatures, of some sort of machine race, hell bend on wipeing out all life in the galaxy, this is the test of the two races, the new formed empire tested and tempred in the fire of war. two kehildron offer themselves up to a human project, to make perfect warriors, combineing kehildron abilities with human tech they intend to use a combination of invasive surjury and the latest technology and old world magi-science (think lazer rifles and halo tech) to create two perfect warriors.

The Warriors;

The Renegade;
Name/Alias/Etc: doesn't have a ‘real’ name since he was never christened, but Is know as “The Renegade” or “Kuro Demon Eyes” though most who know him eather call him ‘kuro’ or ‘ren’
Gender: Male
(Relative) Age: 25-27
Faith: Does not have one.

History:
Heoffered himself up to scientists, to combat the new threat to his life, and trained to be the perfect fighter, years of training enabled him to make the best fighters hire-able look like minimum wage mall cops. He was trained yet again, this time with weapons, again a few years passed he could out gun almost anything but those who had biometric in-plants or robots. He was then taken, sedated and operated on, they changed him, made him metal on the inside, took his arm away then brought it back, but it wasn't ‘his’ it was something else. after half a year of operations they put him back in training, and this time almost no one could beat him. they used a poison gas to induce a panic attack and activate his arm and bionic weaponry. they locked him up again and he meditated, for over a year he just sat in his cell, eyes closed, not eating, not speaking. they thought he had died, or gone in to a coma, but one day a scientist was watching him, and his eyes opened, said scientist had gone mad, gibbering it was like looking in to the eyes of death, or the devil, it depended on what time of day you asked him. When he was inspected again they saw no change, he was still meditating. that night on this planet there was a storm, they braught in a second person, another Kehildron, to be Kuro’s brother in all things but blood, these two were the last hope. Known only as ‘The Renegade’ or “Kuro Demon Eyes” from that day on he has simply meditated, waiting for the time he would be let out.

Personality:
He has a frigid and somewhat stoic exterior, but is rather kind and nice underneath that facade. He is prone to mood swings and when he is in one of his ‘Black Moods’ he doesn’t care who you are, if you piss him off, he will lash out at you regardless. And yet when he isn’t in a ‘Black Mood’ he is rather friendly and kind.
He has come to love life in general, as a happy go lucky guy and isn’t fussed over who he makes friends with. He bears hard and violent grudges for extended periods of time, and will strike back for actions taken against him, no matter how long ago it was.
He doesn't care how Meany have to die, if you give him a ‘job’ it will be done, however he doesn't like killing.
He has a ‘fetish’ for piloting motorised vehicles at unsafe velocities.
He isn’t very chatty but once he starts going its like a ten ton bolder on a very steep slope, unstoppable.
(also if he gets drunk, lets just say there is nothing more dangerous than a drunk Kuro in a gunfight,)

Powers:
He is still an exceptional fighter, both with his hands, as well as his choice weapons, which range from a Katana to his Handgun right the way to a fully automated Chain Gun.

As he isn’t fully human, his senses are much more attuned, however this leaves him vulnerable to things such as flash bang grenades, or any such weaponry.

He was used in a experiment called Project Crucifix, this turned him in to a living weapon. he can turn part or all of his body to a living metal. This has also enabled him to grow blades from any part of his body, as well as giving him a far greater rate of regeneration, and unnaturally high reaction times.
There is a piece of plastic implanted in his eyebrow area that can slide over each eye. The one over his right eye is a target finder; it displays the range, size, week-spots, and direction of movement. The one that folds over his left eye displays a HUD of himself, and any object or person he scans. The information gathered ranges from a simple heart beat monitor, right the way through to a stress monitor. The only thing it can’t show is how aroused a person is... unless physical contact is made. They also implanted something, he has no idea what, that enables him to use the ‘faster than light’ travel but only over distances of about 100 miles, and only on planet. so he can’t jump from ship to ship.

However, the thing that is perhaps the most lethal adjustment made by the Project, is the transformation of his right arm into a gun. It looks innocuous, at least until he is going to fire it. It has 3 known forms, a Tezla cannon, a Obliterator (See ‘Angel Arm’, or suchlike) Cannon, and an Aether Cannon.

The weapons he carries with him are:
1. A Katana, (this katana has a hydrogen fuel cell in the handle meaning it is electrolysed and as such has a feild of subatomic particles flying around the blade, resulting in it being able to slice through most power armour)
2. A 50.cal Handgun (this fire depleted uranium slugs)
3. A hunting knife.
4. A relay beacon to his ship, meaning he can call down strikes and other drops
he is also clad in an Armoured Trench-coat that carries a Armory Pocket Dimension, filled with all kinds of diverse and lethal weaponry. This A.P.D. means he can carry large loads without being hampered, however he doesn't have Many guns in there, yet.
This coat has a Micro weave fiber and a built in light power suit, this enables him to wield most plasmatic weapons with impunity, it also means he is well protected in most cases. The coat has a mono-filament insulated waive meaning it can absorb some plasma blasts but this requires him to be standing still and the burst to hit the coat directly, so it is only partly useful, however it stores the burst to be released in a chain lightning strike from the sleeve.
He also has his ship, only the coat, handgun and Katana were from the lab, the rest were stolen, begged, or bought.
The ship also has a Space to Sky shuttle, he mainly uses this to enter and leave the atmosphere with cargo. it has room enough for 4 passengers, and one pilot. the guns and armour are light, its built for speed.

Vance;
Name: His true name is Vance. He has too many other names to list.
Gender: Male, although thanks to his implants, he has the ability to change this.
(Relative) Age: 24-26
Faith: Whatever it has to be

History: He was given to scientists at a very young age, trained in secrecy, in the arts and subtleties of espionage, sabotage, and stealth. After a while, he became too good, killing each of his captors. Of course, no one knew, such was the nature of the deaths. He preffered this style to anything else, low-risk, high-effectiveness. His years of training, both forced and willing, has made him the deadliest hand-to-hand and CQB expert in the galaxy. And this was simply training, no biomechanics, no implants. They drugged him, and he awoke strapped to a table. They augmented him, giving him the ability to copy his surroundings, in texture, and temperature. He could also, eventually, change sexes. He only has one HUD display, containing a radar, and vitals. After a full two years of experimental surgery, and prototype implants, he was complete, and went to train with new tech. His skin is fire-resistant, and although he can't turn into liquid metal like renegade, or have his extreme regeneration abilities, Vance is extremely lightweight, and is able to breathe in toxic and vacuum environments. With his training, he is able to conquer foes in long range combat, and decimates them at close range combat. An added bonus of his skin is that it is impact and tear resistant, adding lethality to his CQB.

Personality: Is quite talkative, a habit he picked up during his various missions. Being talkative was helpful. Being that there is a proxy AI sharing his body, he is prone to split personalities, the AI is extremely blood-thirsty. Otherwise, he is cool, calm, and calculated. His piloting liscense allows him to to operate weapons platforms capable of planetary destruction.

Although his CQB is strong, it's not his main strength. He can blend in with the crowds, and with the integrated AI system, he can set extremely effective traps. It is this talent that makes him feared. Also, he has heigntened reaction times. Luckily, he isn't as susceptible to flashbangs as Kuro, but then, why worry about those when there are frags and other out there? Other than that, his ability to jump high, and to hit unimaginable speeds on the ground, and even in space, he has no really notable powers.

Weapons:
1) A slightly varied version of the katana. While not electrically charged, it is able to withstand extreme heat, and can be heated upwards of 200 degrees Celcius.

2)A variety of throwing knives and such.

3) A direct control link to his personal Capital ship, Sova class Carrier. He can call in airstrikes, which although not as powerful as artillery, can be much more pinpoint and precise, allowing for minimal colatteral damage.

His armour is light, consiting only of a heavy duty Kameleon suit, with Repelon Grade reinforced armour covering vital areas. This suit houses muscle stimulation technology, adding greatly to his huge amounts of stamina. Due to this suit (and muscle augments) he can carry upto 40 times his own bodyweaight. As an added protection, he carries a wrist band, able to create a formfitting electro-magnetic field, deflecting all forms of damage for a short period of time.

Now, the TK560-AR has been in production for covert ops units since they found out they could do it. The TK, nicknamed "The Big Boy Boomaroo" (derived from Dr.Seuss's Butter Battle Book) because of it diminuitive size, and big power. This is the only heavy duty damage weapon, mid-range, that Vance carries with him at all times.

Kuro settled back and sipped his whisky, looking at Vance he shook his head "I still don't get it" he said. "station 41 was isolated, out in the middle of no where, just a little back water mineing station, who would want to attack it? let alone wipe it off the map." he downed the rest of his whisky and ordered another, his fourth now.
A pair of drunks in the corner were looking over "Theysh don't looksh so tough" one commented to the other (marginaly more sober) one of the pair. "I'm not sure, That porcupine looks dam sharp, and I ain't seen any dragon who isn't worht his salt in a 'ar fight" he managed, half way through enough beer to put a horse on the floor. "righsh. I'll showsh yoush." the first commented and swayed up to Renegade "haysh punk what happend to your facesh?" Ren shrugged and raised his hand, a blade forming and punching through the drunks skull, then forming spikes tareing his face apart. "not much, what happend to yours?" he asked, the blade retracting, and Renegade sighing, "dam, now I've got blood in my whisky, " clearly oblivious to the anamosity he'd just whipped up.

The porcupine shrugged, adjusting his glasses. He didn't need the glasses, but he liked the way they looked. "41, apparently, wasn't just a mineing station. It was a manned mining station..... probably needed the raw materials." He shrugged, his shoulders smooth and flat for now. He took a swig from his jug of San Gria, one of the best wines ever made, in his opinion anyway. "Honestly, it's very possible that they didn't kill anything. Probably some new species with OCD. Needs to have everything in order, so they're moving the galaxy." He shrugged again, shaking his head. His pilot's jumpsuit almost glowed in the light.

Of course, all though this night was calm, calm never lasted very long. A lone drunk wandered his way over to Ren, commenting about his face. The following scene was bloody, resulting in spattered gore and blood in the immediate vicinity. Vance looked at his bottle, using a quill to fish a piece of brain matter from his drink. "You my friend, really need to learn self control." He rubbed his head, immune to the quills. Of course, with the drunk lieing dead on the floor, tension quickly built, and erupted when Vance stood up. A chair smashed across his back, sending the porcupine to his knee. A low growl, his AI trying to take over, but he managed to hold it off.

With a flick of his wrist, he sent a singe, needle thin metal piece through the eye of his attacker. Then, his features started melting together, molding and forming into the scaled exterior of a lizard. With lightning fast movement, he pulled his katana seemingly from out of nowhere, blocking another barstool and watching as the end of his sword forced it's way through the other's back. When he looked up, his normally vibrant green eyes were a deep, violent blue. "Kuro, I believe we'll have to teach these imbeciles a lesson." With an ominous click, he pulled out his rifle, pulling back the action, an evil grin on his face.

Ren sighed "self control, I have it when I'm not drinking." he stood slowly, spinning on one foot and reaching inside his coat. "hmm....." after a moment of of searching and holding of another drunk with one hand he pulled out a small minigun "aye, but you always forget something," he set the minigun down on the bar "it isn't a good idea to blow the bar to bits" he placed a hand on the rifle's barrel "we still end up paying. also in a confined space any big weapon might hit one of us." he rolled his sholders. "now gentelmen, we can do this the easy way, which is we give you five minutes to get to your ships and get your hides off this sorry station. or, the hard way, you all leave in body bags." he paused, his hand flicking up and snatching a spar of glass from mid air. "oh well." he sighed.

he took his coat of and handed it to the barman, who'd pulled out a shotgun. "put that over the most valuable spirits." he said and rolled his sholders, his wings spreading out behind him, "boom." he said softly and one hand was outstretched, his hunting knife in one mans chest, " two one. I'm winning" he chided and danced forwards, takeing his time, grabbing another drunks wrist and reduceing his abdomen to a ruined red mess with three quick movements, the next one found he was being hung by his own intestinal tract.

He chuckled, ducking Ren's wings. "Well, I thought you had higher tolerance. 4 whiskeys?" He shook his head, nodding to the bartender. "Put the gun down, and duck under the bar. Don't want to lose a good barkeep." He chuckled, flicking his wrist, grabbing the large knife by the handle. Vance looked over his shoulder, watching the man dangling with his guts wrapped around his neck. "Two one eh? Not for long," He jumped into the air. When the tip of the sword buried into the ground, he put himself into a backwards spin. The deadly claws whistled through the air, and with the direction he was spinning, they tore through the converging crowd. "Kuro, harden up. Going for a 10 point swan dive this time!" He roared in laughter, dislodging the sword from the ground, spring boarding off Ren's back, doing a front flip before landing on the ground. As he stood, a few more people fell down, chunks missing from their skull due to claws, or heads cleaved in half by the sword's deadly path.

The crowd was thinning out, and to test himself, he made the two blades disappear into his body. He even changed form again, from lizard to a German Shepard Husky mix. With lightning speed, he landed powerful punches, and bone-breaking kicks. His feet were never flat on the ground. One drunk approached with a broken bottle in hand. With a smirk, Vance forced his paw against the man's chest. At first, nothing happened to him. He looked down in confusion, then looked back up at Vance's smirk. Then it started happening. The man fell to the ground, writhing, mouth open in silent agony, blood dripping from anywhere there was an opening. Satisfied, and with the crowd getting smaller, he decided to let his partner have the rest. "Alright, they're all yours." Vance chuckled, taking a deep breath and sitting down at his seat. He grabbed his jug of wine, took another heavy swig, and leaned against the counter.

Kuro sighed and laughed. "show off" he commented, currently looking at a lump of gray-red meat in his hand, ripped from the lately deceesed form at his feet "liver or kideny?" he asked lightly then dropped it. giveing him a slow clap. "allow me to demonstrate now what it means to be" he paused to cough. "chopped liver." he walked forward, bobbing down and smileing "guess what I just found" he spun the blade round in his hand and his Hud's snapped in to place. "now, who's first?" he asked his eyes flashed behind the Hud's. Even drunks could tell that this wasn't going to end well, more then half were dead, and a half crazed half dragon was advancing on them, a blade in hand and blood running over his body, his compatrot had just despatched a good dozen of them with no apparent effort. "and no running." Ren commented evily, drawing his handgun and fireing a round in to the auto lock system on the door.

one of the extreemly brave, or very foolish drunks charged headlong, Kuro punched him in the stomach, lifting him in to the air, jumping up Shiro spun and slammed his elbow in to the mans back, there was a horrid snap and the man bent in the reverse direction, his head resting against his heels, a lump of spine pokeing through his stomach. "right who's next?" he asked softly and his Hud's snapped up, "I know." he flexed his hand and reached inside his APD, pulling out a modified hunters blade, a normal hunters blade would be long and jagged made to hack through foleage and foe alike. this one was modified to have acid running along its edge, Ren had only picked it up a while ago and didn't really use it much, but for asthetics and scareing the shit out of people, it took the cake, and you wouldn't have much left afterwards. Ren was still walking at a stedy pace, towards the croud who were slowly becomeing more and more compact and more and more scared. Kuro let out a sharp roar and jumped forwards, this was acompanied by a multitude of 'oh god, i'm going to die's and 'dont kill me, I have a wife'.

less than two minutes later Shiro wrung his hair out and was pulling bits of body off his wings and fists, the blade was enbedded in the wall, the result of it passing right through someone and getting stuck, they body had since been desolved. Shiro held up a half burnt head. "do you think the fire ball to the face was too much?" he asked absent mindedly, as if it were a unusal bit of art.

Vance shook his head, returning to his porcupine state, surveying the damage. "Aren't you the one who said blowing the place to bits wasn't good?" The acid had started dissolving the wall, and a large scorchmark darkened the opposite wall. He sighed, leaningover the bar to pat the bartender on the back. His eyes had gone back to the original emerald color. "You know what Ren, the fireball might've been a little over the top." He shook his head, pulling out a wallet and slapping a few 1000's on the bartop. "This should cover repairs, and everyone's drinks. Of course, you saw nothing. You were in the back room, right?" The bartender nodded, barely holding onto his lunch. Vance nodded, winking and standing up. His thick coat came from his skin, quills melding together to form an armored covering.

"Come on, Mr.Destro. My cruiser is waiting to pick us up." He tapped his ear twice, brow furrowing in disbelief. "They had another sighting. Mine vanished." He rolled his eyes. "Sector O-43. Apparently the mine was manned, again." He looked around, seeing one still moving. His hand spun a quick circle, and a small pistol appeared in his hand. No sound came from the gun, but a crushing force flew from the muzzle, forcing the head against the metal. "Hm.... that one reminded me of a toothpaste bottle. Lookit, it just came out of the top." Another spin, and the gun vanished. He was like a magician.

He sighed, looking at the aut-lock system. "Don't even think about blowing the door open. Gimme a second to fix this." He rewired the box, shaking his head at the state it was in. The porcupine bristled, a short jolt of electricity making him jump. Soon though, he had the door fixed, and he opened the door with a sly smile. "Extremely dangerous half-anthro-half-reptillian creatures go first I believe."

"does that mean you or me?" Ren smirked and pulled his beacan from his pocket, tapping in a few command codes somewhere in deep space in the middle of a mine feild a huge ship just seemed to disappear from existence, "we've got another ride enroute" he said and smiled, "oh well, it was a little, showmanship." he made a vague gesture, "and remember we don't exist on any offical records." he pulled his coat on and put the minigun away. he then paused, "O-43? Manned?" his eyepieces snapped down and he started sprinting, pulling his headset from his pocket. "Selina, run cross checks with all known self regenerative metals and there mining locations against the attacked stations" there was a pause as his ships computer did the checks. "both stations were Self regenerative stations" he paused and kicked a space rat sending it down a ally, pulling a set of keys from his pocket pressed the button and there was a soft 'beep' as his shuttle glided out the sky. "I think we have our perpetrators" he said and swung himself in to the ship, grabbing the control bars the main peace snapped down "see you on the ship." he said and with a roar the ship shot in to the air.

once onboard the ship he logged on to the computer and started fireing up the main interstellar engines. "....that is a horible idea but just poossible." he said, looking slightly worried, "computer, try and find out if anyone created a anamatronic out of self retenerative metal before. if so, find out where the hell." he smiled and opened a acess pannel, jacking a few wires and then another two in to the computer he rigged the ships intercom to play music, he then rigged it to a raido station.

Vance sighed, shaking his head as the drago-hybrid took his shuttle, shrugging his arms. "Don't see what's so bad with my ship....." His shuttle, or actually, a frigate, was much bigger and heavily armed. It required docking, and of course, a fake name. He morphed, resembling a large Desert Hedgehog. Quickly, he made his way through customs, but was stopped and asked for I.D. "Aye, Cap'n Fjore McNamor repor'n for duty!" He saluted, pulling out a card that had mysteriously appeared in his pocket. "Now, I 'ave inredibly important business to attend, can I get to my ship?" The officer nodded, allowing him passage onto his Kodiak class Assault frigate. It was slow, compared to Ren's, but it was faster than most attack craft. The afterburners would help him vanish if things turned hairy. Six Autocannons facing the front of his ship assured damage, and the heavy armor could take a pounding. His crew of 10, which was robotic, signalled that they were clear for launch, and started the process. When they were finally free, he tapped his earpiece, while pressing a few buttons. Classical music started playing gently throughout the ship. "Valkyrie, this is Blackbird. Ascending towards your coords, should be there in a few." He slowly reverted to his original form, chuckling as he did so. "Valkyrie reads, loud and clear. Dispatching squads one through six to assure your safe return." Vance chuckled at the feminine voice.

A moment later, six squads of space planes, strike craft surrounded the ship in a defensive formation. "Sqaud Leader to Blackbird, we've got your back." He nodded, flashing a thumbs up out of the window. The spacecrafts stuck with him, all the way into the Valkyrie's large hangar bay, only one out of eight. From those eight, 120 sqaudrons of six strike craft could be deployed. The Sova class carrier also housed autocannons, 4 on the starboard, two on port, 6 rocketpods on starboard, and 3 beam batteries, once again on starboard. As he made his way to the command center, he was met by a woman wearing a pair of jumpsuit pants, a white tank-top, and a green forager hat. Vance smiled, greeting her warmly. "Ah, hello love. We'll be heading to Sector O-43 today. Need you to set up the coordinates, and get me a link to Ren's ship will ya?" The lady nodded, jogging off to the comm room. With a tap on his earpiece, he smiled, and started. "Ren, don't think that just because your ship is so much smaller than mine, that you'll be getting there faster than me. Bigger ships, bigger engines." He laughed, punching in a few numbers on the keypad. The engines whirred as the Phase Drives started warming up. Then, with a hiss, and a rumble, the ship was off, their over sized Phase Space technology punching a hole in space itself, sending them zooming through the cosmos. However fast it was though, it still took time.

While Shiro's shuttle was built for speed and agility his cruiser was something of a prototype, built entirely from a unusual ore alloy that cloaked itself in dark matter naturally, the so called 'stealth ore' was invisible to the eyes, both mechanical, electronic, and natural, the only way to find it was to walk in to it. what was most intresting though was when a electronic current was passed across this ore its properties were reversed and hurled matter away from it like thrusters. Kuro glanced at the radar, as soon as Vance's cruiser was in range he flicked a switch and appeared on the radar, a single rune a symbol meaning 'shadow' opening the coms he pressed the transmit button "Vance How are you sailing?" he asked. he settled back and his Hud's snapped down, his back unfolded and several dozen silver tendrils floated out and latched in to the system, plugging Kuro right in to the ship, turning the ship in to one single organisam. "systems green, all weapons online, radar at full function, HAAS working, AM drive system working. I'm online" he smiled and was held, suspended by his own tenticles in the middle of the comand deck. his ship was fully stocked for the full 200 man team needed to fly it, but he never needed them, the ability to interface directly with the entire ship at once solved that problem.

"Vance, I've got the Co-ordinates, I'm going to cloak and head ahead, I'll get the warp gate working for us" and with that he disappeared from the radar, but could be reached on the coms. his ship was armed with mostly orbital weponary, his prow cannon had enough power to wipe out a entire city, now this wasn't much in the terms of interstellar warfare but disapearing from the radar, reapearing and fireing a round in to the engines, then another right in to the comand deck was quite enough. it also had point defences, which ment any borders would find themselfs sucking laz fire, along each side there was three sets of twin linked laz cannons these were mainly used for stirpping down foe's armour and shields, then there was twin plasma impulse cannons, these were the orbital weapons, along with the missles and volcano bombs, there was several torpedo silos but they were rarely used, exept for decoy fireing. warming the engines up two blue specks appared in space then faded as matter clouded around them if one could 'paint' the matter around Ren's ship it would look like a submarine without the propeller, the matter would rush forwards and stick to the ship, being dragged along the surface then fired off the back in a cone shape. when fully energized this ship could travel through a star due to the fact all the dangerous matter would be passed around it, though it wouldn't excape the gravity well. it couldn't touch down so it had to be docked in orbit and even then it owuld be invisible.

He sighed, shaking his head. Of course, the show-off would'nt let a bigger ship capable of interstellar warfare go first would he? Vance palmed his face, looking over his shoulder. "Alright guys, here's the deal. Since you're my crew, you know what goes on behind the government propoganda right? Well, another mining system, a regenitive metal miner, has disappeared. As you know, this could be a big problem. Without that metal, ships won't beable to hold in firefights, miners will be crushed." The crew nodded. "We're heading to that sector to investigate. I want all squadrons on standby. Half of the fighters and bombers stay up here, the rest must be prepared for a planetary assault. Understood?" The crew nodded again, and affirmatives came over the comm system. The blue space that was Phase Space passed the windows by. "Is the cargo bay stocked?" One of the officers tossed him a report. Vance grinned. "You can talk all the shit you want about the high-ups sir, but when they come through, they certainly come through." The porcupine nodded, tossing the report back.

"Good. We're ready for just about anything now. Alright then." He leaned back in his chair, cracking his knuckles. One of the pilots called out. "ETA 3 minutes sir!" Vance nodded, standing up slowly, looking around. "I'll be in the lower decks. Armory." He held up two fingers, motioning them towards him. "Skylarks, follow me." The bird kehildron snapped into place behind him, and followed him to the armory. "Assuming there's anything left when we get there, I want you boys to scout it out. I'll send in another squadron of Skylarks to support." One of the birds tilted his head curiously.

"Where will you be sir?" Vance shrugged, looking up.

"I've got a really bad feeling. Maybe being off this ship will be better for you guys." The porcupine sighed, pointing to the far wall. "Your new tech is there. Very strong. A rifle, and auto's." He chuckled, and started back up.

Kuro seemed to just pop out of space as his ship powered down, gliding sleekly out of a asteroid field and towards the warp gate, opening long range communication's he pinged Vance "warp gates intact," he commented, then slid off again, quickly losing interest in what was going on and searching for possible foes. "ah....shit." opening communication's again he sighed "vance, I've found our attackers" he said just as he glided out in to the space where the mining station should be, he didn't power down though, in fact he charged up the weapons. "a generation or two ago they took a AI much like the one in-bedded in you and gave it a regenerative metal shell and fired it in to deep space. its power source was a bit of old tech that used a unknown energy source, they couldn't replicate it and it didn't have much thrust, but it was fast, this seems like the AI coming back to get its vengeance." he sighed and checked the radar. "oh......not good. change of plan, there's a inhabited planet about to LY's from here, last radio contact was four days before the mining station went down, it was a colony of so called 'pastists' who belive in that liveing in the old ways with new 'cleen' technology. is the best way of light, so they refuse contact with the outside world exept for when they are attacked, trecking the local area for the last message." he went silent.

five minites later he came back with a large amount of curseing "and then once I've put a hole there I'm going to shove his foot up it! oh sorry vance, just caught the last message, check it." he transmitted it over and waited for vances responce to it. when he played it it would go like this;
"This is the pastest planet of rhineland, we we're contacting the mineing station about the next shipment for our generator and then out of no where of the existant edge of the galaxy came this ship, it was all black, made of bits of metal, all held together with green lightning, it was in such low orbit that you could see the little figures in it, then all of a sudden these huge things came down, all black and gold the floated above the ground they looked like upside down tubes, exept made of liveing metal. they had green eyes and claws for hands, one of the defence towers shot one, the hole closed up and the broken metal formed little thigns with one green eye and all chopping blades, it tore them apart." the voice was getting more and more hurried and worried. "there's just a few of us left, Help, there almost at th-" it was cut of and there was the sound of shattering glass and a chattering noise, the sound of blades sliceing flesh, a screem and then a crackling screech of mechine code. the recording then clicked off.

Things started getting bumpy. Vance finally made his way out onto the command deck. Phase space was NOT supposed to be bumpy. "Shit, I've got a bad feeling. Everyone, man the guns!" He growled, losing his balance momentarily as the ship heaved, shaking greatly as it fell out of phase space. Their attacker, if it was an attacker, had yet to show itself. "Shit, TJ, I want a full operations scan of this ship. Look for bugs, drones, anything, and get those engines back online." The AI responded, a light whispering in his head. The scan was under way. "Deploy all squadrons. Send out our cargo! I want this sector locked down!" Suddenly, he got pinged by Ren's long range comm.

"Not sure how much the warp gate'll help if we can't reach it. Phase drives and main engines are down. We can crawl, but we're standing still till we figure out what the fuck happened." His brows knit together as Ren explained the situation, and then sent over a very disturbing message from a pacifist colony. An equivalent to new human Amish it seemed. "Well, that's very interesting Kuro, but not our biggest worry right now. The colony is dead. That thing is probably gone by now." Vance shook his head, switching the screen display to his earpiece. "I want you to secure that sector and hold it until we get there. The asteroid and planet is still there right?" An engineer called up. "Found what stopped us Cap'n." The wolf held up a shredded drone. "Terror drone. Nasty li'l bugger, but stopped the power flow. Fell right into the sub-engine turbines." The engineer tossed it up. "We should have 'er up an' runnin' in a few minutes Cap."

Ren nodded and set the ship on auto, "I don't know Vance, something's telling me that this isnt-oh shit." he cut the long range and started tapping keys, "fuck fuck fuck. where's a whisky when oyu need one" putting the ship in full reverse he made sure the stealth feilds were fully active, opening coms again when he was sure he wasn't about to get a plasma lunch "Vance, I think we just put our foot in it. this ship, if you could call it that is a fucking flying city, and I'm not kidding you. sending images now."

cylon_resurrection_ship__wip3__by_todayv4-d34qqgy.jpg

"and thats not the half of it..... that seems to be a front spar, I could flippin dock my cruiser in there and still have room for the impiral amarda." he tilted his head "I think its a particulate ship, you know flys in parts? there's huge bolts of green lighting comeing out the end holding it to something. " he returned his atention to the planet "oh god.........oh dear god no......" Even shiro sounded horified at whatever he was watching.

He growled, studying the pictures closely. "Shit, that can't be good." He called down to the engine room, growling. "We need those Phase drives online NOW!" He swung into the commanding chair, punching in the coords, slowly, painfully slowly they turned, getting into jump position. "Kuro, hold on, we're coming. Don't let that thing come near you." He growled, tapping the armrest impatiently. The second the engines went back up, he activated, punching through. The trip lasted a grand total of a split second, and they came out gun's blazing. "Ren, stay next to my ship. This is my department." The attack was relentless, a storm of HE missiles, giant lead slugs, and lazer cannon fire, coupled with the fire of 120 squadrons of strike craft. It should've done immense damage, and certainly kicked up quite a dust cloud. Before the dust settled, the cargo bay doors opened, releasing a small fleet of 30 frigates. The fleet consisted of 4 Korsul heavy assault cruisers, 6 Hoshiko repair frigates, 5 Javelin LRMWS frigates, and 15 recently upgraded Cobalt Attack frigates.

"Stand back and watch the fireworks Kuro." With that, he ordered a full on assault, aiming all his weapons, strike craft, and frigate fire at the center of the dust cloud. "Alright, Lieutenant, keep everyone firing at that son of a bitch. I'm going out in the Kodiak." The woman nodded, taking the seat. Vance rushed downstairs as fast as he could, and arrived at the shuttle. His crew was waiting and ready, but since 10 were pilots, he was a tad shorthanded. "Everyone on. Come on, let's go." The hangar doors were open already, allowing the constant flow of strike craft. The cruiser-type shuttle lifted up, and flew off, fighting next to the Korsul Class cruisers. His Autocannons fired repeatedly, as fast as the cooling system would allow. Eventually, he gave the command to hold fire, and let the dust settle. To see if they hit anything, or did anything. Their guns weren't like the mining station's, or the guntower on the pacifist colony. They were the big guns, meant to tear through thick armor and shield alike.

Kuro facepalmed, "thats a ship built of energized Regenerative metal." he pointed out, as the dust settled Kuro watched in horror as the blasted bits of the ship jumped and green lightning passed between them, slowly pulling them back in to place, rebuilding the ship, a odd looking green turret spun round and a bolt of lightning lashed out, striking one of the frigates, in space there was no sound, but the entire ship had its armour stripped away leaving nothing but the shell and the piolets in open space. On-board his own cruiser Kuro winced, this was going to be messy "Vance, get the fuck out of there, I'll meat you in the asteroid feild" he looked along the ship as several more of the green lightning turrets slid along motorized rails and took aim. "Your fucked." Kuro commented and began to work on his thrusters, intending to get Vance's main ship out of there. the city-ship spun round, down its centre a huge green crystal moved, it looked about the same size as your average cruiser. slowly a strong glow built up, dozens and dozens of little bolts of lightning were fed in to it, then all of a sudden a huge bolt lashed out, striking Vance's cruiser, the sheild's being ripped apart as if they were nothing more than a paper wrapper. "holy mother of god......" Ren breathed, "its the power source....." spinning his ship round he un-cloaked and latched on a grav beam on to Vance's cruiser, this was normaly used to drag larger astaroids about, but it worked just as well for a ship, flooring his thrusters painfully slowly the ships began to move, move away from the huge ship. "Next time, look before you leap" Ren chided and glanced over his ships shoulder. "at-least it dosn't seem to have strike craft,"

Vance roared in anger as he saw his pilot's lifeless bodies float away. And Vance never got angry. Ever. "You fucking son of a bitch! Let's see your Regenertive metal take this!" He smashed his closed fist down on the keyboard, and a horrifying transformation began taking place. "All Javelins, I want as many nuke's as you have fired at this! Switch to planetary assault weapons!" The Kodiak shook, and was suddenly surrounded by a great, bright blue shield. All his ships closed in on him, getting within the shield's radius, adding their power to it's. And then, the fire started again. The Kodiak now had a pointed tip, and 4 open missile slots accompanying the autocannon turrets.

"Vance, get the Valkyrie out of here. I'm going to kill this thing if it kills me." Anger shook his voice. Those pilots were good men. Damned good men. This was for their families. "Cease fire. Here come's the big guns." The missiles swarmed, and somehow, they looked different. They were painted black, and yet, their tips were blue. The reason for their odd markings soon became obvious. With their speed, they collided heavily, exploding with the force of a supernova. The missile slots closed, reloading their payload, and when they launched again, the paintjob was reversed. They swarmed again, once again hitting with the force of meteors, burrowing deep before detonating. The shockwave of electricity was large, but fizzled short of Vance's fleet. The slots closed again, replaced by Autocannon fire, at the now exposed crystal. It's energy source, Ren had so helpfully observed. With a malicious grin, he launched his most deadly set of missiles. Burrowers. They made contact, drilling through, detonating deep within with the force of a hydrogen bomb. The attacks had sent up another cloud of matter. "Alright, let's see this bitch get back together after that."

Kuro winced "Vance, If that crystal even goes off with a fraction of the power it just unloaded all the shields in the galaxy can't even protect one atom, and what I ment was thats the same energy that was emmited by the unknown power source, that crystal is just a focuser," he reved the engines, finaly pulling Vance's cruiser out of range and in to the astaroid feild. "by all means blow the fuck out of it," he spun round and unlinked the cruiser, fireing his engines at full throttle he glided up behind vance's ships. "I recon you baugt us about ten minutes, " he said watching the giant ship slowly pull itself together, "if you want to live I'm going to open my own hangers, all I've got in there is my own cruiser, tell your men to get aboard and I'll get them the fuck out of here, because that-" he was cut off as the crystal fired again, the damadge done to it, spraying the shot, non the less it tore a good chunk of the sheild apart. 'download compleet' came the soft femanine voice of Kuro's onboard computer. "Vance, I've got all the info we need, I think. anyway you've got ten, well less now, minutes till its fully operational again, and five after that till it can fire again, that dosn't include the minature guns. the only way to kill that thing is to smeg the AI's core for one. remember, this is part of a much bigger ship." he glanced at the planet. "and if we don't get down there soon, god know's what will be comeing up to greet us, have you even looked at it?" the planet was going for lush greens and blues to a arid desert with huge black runes across its surface, "I want to stop whatever is going on down there." he said and opend his hanger "now, hurry up."

Kuro started shifting through the files, makeing sure to select only the one's he wanted.

Vance growled again, tapping his earpiece. "That's a wrap guys, everyone get the fuck out of here. Report to Ren's hangar." He focused on the crystal, suddenly spawning an idea. "Kuro, check the data real quick. What happens if the focuser crystal gets blown to bits?" The fleet was retreating, leaving the shield radius and landing in the hangar of the large gunship. They were one ship, one crew down. These.... things would have to pay, for killing that crew, and for doing what many thought was impossible. Angering the porcupine shifter. "Ren, get my men out of range. I'll be right behind you." The Kodiak transformed again, into it's original state, Autocannons firing at anything and everything that moved on or near that ship. "Oh, and Kuro. Tell the Skylarks they'll be staying on the ship for this mission." With the transformation complete, he fired a few more rounds, directed at the power focuser, kicked in the afterburners and sped towards Ren's ship.

Kuro shrugged and continued searching "No clue, what I've got is limited due to the fact that what we sent out was a small metal sphear about the same size as your head with a green energon power source and a AI. I'll keep looking" he started moveing a little before Vance was onboard, shutting the hanger and kicking the main thrusters, the cloak fireing up "Oh, and DON'T TOUCH, ANYTHING!!" he called over the intercom, doors opend and closed on automatic, and since Ren was hardwired in to the ship everything was pretty much voice or visual activated, "ok, lets wait for that behemoth to bugger off, Vance, mind comeing up to the comand deck, your the only one that wouldn't flip out." he smiled and continued shifting, a few of his tendrils relocating there ports, "as soon as we can, lets drop down to that planet, I don't want to let that thing escape." he sighed.

once they were in the astaroid feild Ren's ship halted but didn't uncloak "I really don't want to go toe to toe with that thing again, did you see the beams comeing out the tail end?" he asked, now walking, but still wired up. "they wern't thrusters, but link systems, you know how stations have orbiting turrets with energy links? same thing but on a huge scale, that's only a smaller part of a ship." he sighed and flicked his hands, and a holograph came up (holograph, think Hologram but mobile, three D and the creator can interact with it), the holograph was of the ship and a second of the planet. "well then, let us have a look at the planet first." he said flicking his hands, the planet blew up and Ren span it round to a spot "zoom" the image zoomed in to show a very pixilated image of a black squair with a green speck atop it, and dozens of smaller black and green specks around it. "Now if my guess is corect, that is a transport method for one of those focuser crystals, god know's what the little spots are, I'm assumeing they're the little scarab things from the message, now, We could drop down there, find out what it is, and drop a orbital bomb on it. thats what I'm suggesting, yes we could bomb the crap out the planet but I want to investigate. also I'm board of dukeing it out in space."

Vance came up onto the command deck, raising an eyebrow. "Tentacles...... Again? Can't you think of anything more original?" He sighed, studying the holograph, rubbing his chin and readjusting his glasses. "Well, yeah, we could just bomb it, but that won't help us figure out how to kill it." He squinted at the little spots. "Although, I'm pretty sure the Scarab things won't be a problem. And besides, if that ship..... piece see's an orbital bomb screeching towards it, it'll come after you. Then it'll take care of the bomb." The porcupine shook his head, bristling slightly. "No, we go down. Figure out if these things can feel pain or not. Figure out how to kill it." His eyes turned a shaded blue, almost evil. The AI wanted blood. Death.

"Ren. When we find out what we need, we're going to get more ships. A fleet. An armada. We'll board whatever is controlling these things, and either destroy it, or try to take it over." He looked up, eyes raging. "But, whatever the case may be, I'm going to take out as many of these fuckers as I possibly can." He clenched his fist, closing his eyes, shaking with renewed anger. "This........ Monster..... will know what it's like to be destroyed piece by piece. Every little thing will be crushed. Broken." He growled, gritting his teeth, finally managing to calm down.

"You've got to help me with this damned AI system. Emotion is never a good thing on the battlefield." Vance pulled something from his slightly bristled quills. A silver flask, containing something to help suppress the second personality.

"I'll see what I can do, you know I'm not perfect with advanced computers, best I've got is my inbuilt shit." he sighed and shrugged making a motion with his hand and the Holograph closed "They're a perfect way to interface with my ship, how's your crew doing?" he walked over to the main screen and started typing. after a moment he turned away and rolled his sholders "allright c'mon" he started walking "Vance, assumeing this is what I think it is a full frontal strike like we normaly do isn't going to work unless its on the ground. we need to get in to the core systems and punch a hole in the AI so big that even the regenerative metal won't work, " he rubbed his eyebrows and kept walking, anyone who got in the way got shoved to the side. "...." shiro opend his mouth, paused, then spun on the spot, "Put that back in the lab!" he thundered at one of Vance's crew who was holding a glass of glowing, bubbling a green-pink liquid. after scareing the hell out the crewmember and re-apropriating the liquid, which he identified as the nucleic acid, used to energize the metal of the ship. "bloody hell. Selina, activate security systems for apropriate autrarization, code....." he paused and tapped a few floating blue keys, projected by the ship. "alpha Vance seven" he smiled and winked at Vance "easier to remember" he explained and hung a right in to a blue door.

Once inside Shiro collapsed on to his bed, His room was a cross between a half lived in bedroom, a mechanics workshop and a holo-projection suite. "sorry for the bomb site, I use the holoprojection units to provide blueprints and I'm prone to falling asleep mid project. right." he sighed and then stood back up. "your port's in the same place?" he asked his right arm unfolding smoothly, metal panels spinning round and locking back and in to place, revealing his hand to be a multi-interface system. "like the upgrades? I can't remember half of them till I need them" he glanced at a half built project on the table, it looked like a cross but looked about the same hight as Ren's shoulder and had a ton of different weapons spread about it "need to finish that." he said to himself "right lets see, what do you want me to do." he then sat back down "sorry, I'm just in a bad mood. he closed his eyes and shrugged his coat of, slowly, very slowly, starting only with the lightest of embers, then a trickle of smoke, then a slight flicker of a flame, growing stedily in to a roaring inferno along his non-mechanical arm, his hair floated up from the heat, opening his eyes they were blazeing red pits of fire, two twin gates in to hell. along the link between his augmented arm and real chest lines of silver appeared, these ran like murcury down his arm, pooling along it and exploding out in to formed blades creating a set of lethal edges all down his arm. he glanced at vance and he let out one long breath, "I am going to make sure that each one of those bastards is obliterated one, by fucking one." he said, his perfectly level voice seeming out of place, as Vance or anyone who know Ren well enough knew that either Kuro had just been close to mortaly wounded and was about to go planet-vaporizer. or something big had just gone down. the flames around his arm faded and then he glanced at his right arm. rubbing the sholder he sighed "soon, very soon." he said and slammed his fist in to the wall, denting it. "Selena just updated me. they've struck again, a different ship, or another part it seems. but they came from under the galaxy" he pulled up a gelatic map. he looked away from Vance "they struck here" he pointed to a small star cluster close to the center "they took draconis prime." he said simply.
A breif history of Ren's 'race' as it stands, they were found, like all other Kehildron, but being airborne the were one of the first to take to the stars. they found planets perfect for there inhabitance, the biggest was named 'Draconis Prime' and labled a sanctuarry, meaning all buildings had to be Eco-friendly and built underground, and minimal impact on the environmet was to be made at all times, it was haven for the Draconic races, huge mountines, open feilds and warm seas. this was to be Ren's birthplace, his mother had never left the planet, and he was given up when only two years, not even aware of what was happening, so it came to be. Kuro grew up without pearents or family, he wasn't hurt by this, he learnt how to block of all emotions, and lost all understanding of what it ment to 'feel' he didn't understand 'love,' or 'compassion' nor did he understand 'hate,' or 'anger' he found them unusal intrests of other beings, then he found Draconis prime, he found a family, by this time he was augmented and a warrior, so he only stayed to understand, and he'd opend up, he'd began to 'feel' for the first time he found beauty in the butterfly, for the first time he understood why people just lie in the grass and watch the sky, he'd spent a entire year atop a mountain just feeling, but then he'd gone back to war, but changed, he always faught alone and never put anyone else in danger they couldn't get out of. he still had a cold and sharp edge, just backed by a different force. this was ten years ago now. he knew his mother would never leave. for that was where his fathers grave was. his entire race, with the exeption of those in space and on the lesser colony's about a tiny percentage of 2 billion were left. out of the previous 20 billion only one tenth of that lived. "Vance." he said softly. "get your best equipment ready, We go to war." he turned away, his right hand shifting back to normal, the blades not disapearing though. "I'm going to see if I can get in contact with HQ and get any prototypes."

"Draconis Prime?" He rubbed his eyebrows, massaging his head, trying to relieve the pain that was forming there. "Sitting here fuming about this isn't going to do shit." He growled, rolling his shoulder, cracking his neck. "Agh..... this fucking AI is getting annoying." He pulled out the container again, drinking heavily. "We're going full ground assault then? Boy, I've got something you'll enjoy then." He closed his eyes, flicking his wrist, and spinning the newly appeared knife around his fingers.

When Kuro left the room, Vance sat up, brow furrowed. The pain wasn't going away. The suppressant should've taken effect by now. What the hell was happening? He growled, falling to one knee, placing his hand on the back of his neck, where the AI was throbbing. 'I will rip you out right now. I don't need a second personality. I've got my training, and my augments.' The pounding, hammering pain receded, leaving only a dull throbbing. 'Was that so hard?' he thought at the implant before standing. He looked at his arm, narrowing his eyes. In a flash, he'd transformed into a lean, muscled, dangerous looking animal. His claws were large, razor sharp. He had two long canines. The master of stealth and transformation had combined animals to make something deadlier than it's parts.

Unexpectedly, an intense pain struck him in the skull, forcing him down onto his hands and knees. His expression was one of shock. Vibrations, a strange beat, echoed through him, forming some type of language. What was it saying? What was hidden in those mysterious patterns? He couldn't understand, and as briefly as it started, it stopped. The shifter was frozen, face moving from shock to intense concentration. There was something vital in that new language, he felt it. Now, he needed to decipher what it was.

Ren nodded and sighed "this is the Renegade to HQ, requesting access to the prototype functional database," there was a pause "access granted, welcom back Renegade." trawling through the database he selected two prototypes and tagged them "We'll pick them up from station alpha asap." he logged off and locked the computer down, leaning against the computer bank and looking a at the blades that lined his arm, clenching his fist he lifted his modifed arm up to the light "what are you?" he asked it in the scilence of the command deck. not receving or expectin a answer he sighed and pressed it against a banister and pulled it back, ripping the metal apart. "it dosn't help that you seem to have a mind of your own." he swung himself on to the command chair and set up the corse, then left, walking down to the medi bay and grabbing several canisters.

walking back in to his room he sighed and tossed one to vance "I've managed to make a concentrate of your supressent there isn't much so only use it when you have to." he then handed him a small packet "asaprin and some morphine, help with the pain" he looked at the bottle he'd got left for himself, sighing he flipped the cap on it and downed it in one, his right arm flashing silver and the blades retracting. "Nuro-proxine, Helps with the augments, don't like what it does though." he said as way of explination. "how long till your good to go?" he asked, then looked at him "you stuck?" he asked, a light edge to his voice.

He stood slowly, unsteadily, catching the bottle and the packet in his hands. His quills were bristled, as if expecting an attack. "The AI's........ Mine is picking something up." He winced, tapping the side of his head lightly. "I-I can't understand it." His head tilted curiously, but he closed his eyes, and was soon back to normal. The bottle and packet melted into his arms, disappearing from view. "I'm good. I'd like to get whatever I'm picking up decoded." He sighed, flicking his finger up. A small amount of the morophine powder came out, falling upon a snakelike tongue. His body reverted to it's default state. "Whatever I heard, it's important." Vance shook his head, crouching down. "Well, we can't always get what we want, eh? Let's go. The sooner the better." He stood, growing an orbital jump jacket from his quills.

He clenched his fist, spinning the knife around his fingers. It was a habit, a dangerous habit for anyone else. More like a hobby to the porcupine. It calmed him, the hypnotic motion, and he looked over to Ren. Tapping his ear, he contacted the ship, his Valkyrie. "Lieutenant, get the ship moving. Once we've secured the warpgate, we'll send everything to Charybdis. The equipment and other things should be safe there." The affirmative came back through the earpiece, allowing the shifter to relax. "The more I think about this, the more I get a bad feeling. A very bad feeling. We don't know what exactly we're up against here." He tilted his head up, looking at the ceiling of the room. "Well, guess we won't find out till we go."
