When he woke up on the beach Cadaelin's mouth tasted like the ocean water. He remembered setting out on his ship in search of new lands to find the things he held most dear; combat, treasure and women. So far, he had found none. His ship had sailed into a fearsome storm which quickly tore the wooden vessel to pieces. Some men were thrown to the ocean while others were crushed by falling beams or trapped below deck and met a slow drowning death. Cadaelin was among those tossed into the waters, but he managed to survive by grabbing a piece of the wreckage. He made it through the storm and finally drifted to the shore of a place he was reasonably certain he'd never been.

His straight brown hair hung down just below his shoulders, wet and covered in sand as he picked himself up from the surface. Some his his clothes were missing, torn to shreds in the storm and ripped off of his body, leaving his strong arms and muscular torso exposed. His wrists were wrapped in leather bands bands, mostly to provide protection in combat, and his lower half was covered with a leather loincloth that left very little to the imagination. Thankfully his boots, though still wet, were mostly in tact, and though he had lost many of his weapons a short sword had somehow remained in the scabbard and at his side. That would do well enough.

Taking a moment to readjust himself to land he looked around, his brown eyes searching out the surroundings. It looked like there was nothing here and, thus, no reason to remain. Hungry and in need of rest the adventurous young barbarian made his way inland, hoping to find some sort of civilization. Whether or not it was friendly would be an issue he dealt with once he found it.

After what felt like hours of walking he finally collapsed. Even a young man as strong as him required food and sleep to maintain energy and he had finally bottomed out, his fight against the storm and the waves sapping him. He remained there for quite some time before he was found by a middle aged man who was a great deal shorter and far less muscular. The man ran back to his village to alert the others, and a group had surrounded him, debating what to do with this strange person. Eventually they dragged him, with much effort, back to the village and laid his body on a futon in one of the farm houses. He was much too large to remain in it comfortably, but it would have to do. With this strange being settled for the time being an envoy was sent to the large city a few miles away with a message for the high priestess. The simple people of the little farming village believed they had found a god.
