Alfonso couldn't say that he was particularly proud of his occupation and the baggage that came with it. Killing and kidnapping people for a paycheck hardly seemed like fair cash, but it allowed him the freedom to live as he wanted anonymously because everyone that wanted to use his services made sure that he was kept safe. Whoever said there was no job security in being an assassin? As a video game character once said, "As long as two people are alive, one is going to want the other one dead."

And so it was that he found himself here, sitting on a rooftop on a short apartment complex in the middle of a city, his chocolate brown eyes looking up at the sun as he worked to figure out the hour and exactly how long he would have to wait for his prey to arrive. He had been contracted by the leader of the local Yakuza chapter to find the daughter of the primo of the local drug cartel, and hold her ransom until the boss paid the Yakuza for her safe return. The instructions had been very opened ended, except to say to keep her alive until the amount was paid, or if she tried to escape use her as an example to the cartel that the Japanese element in this city was very, very serious about their business.

Now it was time to draw his eyes back down to the street in anticipation of the arrival of the girl, his movements slow as he switched to a crouching position so he could scan the area more carefully, his relatively slight frame well hidden by the lip around the top of the roof. When it came to this line of work, the smaller and nimbler you were, the longer you were guaranteed to survive.
