"Finally, no more school"! Kevin said it out as he drove his '97 Taurus down the busy highway. The road was full of many people his age, thinking the same thing. Their first year of college was over and it was time to go home and relax for the Summer. Not that the 21 year old Kevin minded school, or learning. But, its always nice to take a break and be around familiar surroundings in order to calm ones mind from the stress of books, essays and professors. The white siding with a green propanel roof, the two big pines in the mid-sized front yard. In the drive-way there sat a blue minivan, mom's car. Kevin looked at his watch and remembered that his dad wouldn't be home for a couple hours still. His dad always worked long hours for the local gravel yard, sometimes overnight. Growing up, Kevin and his mom learned to deal with his fathers hours. Doing what needed to be done around the house. As a result of all the time they spent together, Kevin and his mom had developed a strong bond and closeness. Nothing physical, but emotional. As Kevin climbed out of his car, he could smell his mom's home cooking coming from the house. His stomach growled. His luggage could wait for now, he ran to the front door and knocked.......
