Zack sat in the traditional japanese inn room that he rented out for his stay in Japan. It was very well designed although very small. Just enough for Zack to get around and have his things where he needed the most. However, considering that this was in the country side, Zack had no access to internet other than his cell that made international calls and service when needed.

Zack didn't mind at all however; he prefered spending all of his time thinking of Japanese culture as well as asian culture in general for any source of a idea for a story.

He did managed to light a few ideas but nothing for a new novel rather than improving his story.

"Japanese Mythology IS mainstream...." he said to himself sighing as he looked at what he wrote on the laptop. He laid down completely while his legs still folded sighing some more.

20 years old, Zack was in his prime youth having hazel green eyes and very dark brown curly hair making himself look younger yet 'mature' in youth. He often hated being considered as a young teen but it did have it's advantages in ways.

It had been a while since he'd checked in to her inn, the young man in room 12. It wasn't a lot of space, but when she asked if he was doing all right, it seemed to be suiting his needs. She often spoke to him, smiling at him and finding herself enjoying his company and hazel eyes. Her family had all moved away to the cities, and she was left alone here--a lonely single mother with an inn that had little business, but enough to stay afloat comfortably.

She was a less traditional woman, but she knew how to sell it as though she were. While at work, her very non-traditional red hair was swept up into a classy style that was a bit more modern. She dressed in traditional kimonos that kept her curvy form a bit more concealed and camouflaged. Her make up was only enough to enhance her natural beauty and she had quite enough of that.

Now, since it was a cleaning day, she wore jeans that hugged her legs just the right way, and a t-shirt that was snug enough to show her form. Her hair was pulled back in a pony tail, her lovely Asian features on display. Most of the guests were out, but she noticed that Zack hadn't come down yet. She knocked on his door to make sure it was all right to enter.

"Zack? Are you in?" Reko asked.

"Yes?" he asked standing up. He stretched before walking over at the sliding door wearing long sheeve and straight jeans. He opened the door and saw ms. Reko. The inn owner looked as 'lovely' as ever although shorter, she was much more mature than him.

"Hello" he said smiling in English before saying in Japanese, "Can I help you?"

Reko smiled as he answered the door, always happy to see him. He looked a little younger than he was, but that didn't bother her. She missed her own children, and his youthful appearance helped her to put that behind her. And his Japanese was much better than when he first came here. "In English please," she said. "I need to practice more." She smiled and then held up her bucket of cleaning supplies. "Is it all right if I clean your room now? Or would you prefer I come back later?"

"Oh now would be fine thank you, I am actually planning to go more sight seeing" he said in English as she wished. He stepped aside and walked over to where his labtop was and closed it. He then reached for his bag. "How will this take?" He asked. "I am planning to be back in 2 hours..." he explained.

She smiled and translated it all in her head as he spoke to her. "Oh, should not take long. The rooms are not very large. I'll be gone before you know it. Laundry you have?" She was still getting used to the language, and now and then she would slip up in her speaking. She could understand it well enough, but the speaking was a different matter. "I take it with me if you have it."

"um yes, I have some over there" he said pointing at a corner. He had a good amount of clothes folded somewhat so it wasn't a complete mess but never the less, they were dirty and some even smelled.

"I should be going, bye" he said with a quick bow and walked down the hall with a smile. (Hope she doesn't go around in my underwear...) he thought chuckling as she was a woman after all but he worried little.

Reko nodded and smiled, letting him go with a wave and a little bow. "Have fun!" she called after him. When he was gone, she sighed and got to work. She pulled out a basket from a closet in the hall and put all his dirty clothes inside of it. He was still quite young to be leaving clothes in this condition, but she figured it was all well and good. The woman made sure the room was picked up and tidy. She changed the sheets on his bed, careful to arrange it the way he liked, since she'd come in early before to notify him of breakfast when the phones were being worked on.

She smiled and made sure his papers were stacked neatly in the same order he'd left them on the small writing desk after she dusted it. Then she vacuumed and got to cleaning the bathroom, leaving him with a present--a small bottle of the cologne he wore. She took a sniff of it before she left, delighting in the scent before she left. She'd noticed that he was running low before, so she had picked it up last time she went out. It was about an hour later when she finished. The next room took her half the time, though she took laundry from that room as well.

Once she was finished, she took the laundry down to the washer and dryer behind the desk in the lobby and checked off the last room from her list. Her chores complete, Reko sighed and called one of her assistants to man the desk while she went to the outdoor baths.

Naked beneath her robe and carrying a small basket with her shower materials, the lovely mistress of the inn was heading toward the baths about two hours after her entering Zack's room. She wondered where he was going today, and if he would ever consider asking her along.

Zack met with some of the locals that he met when he first came here in kyoto. He sighed as the day seemed to be long. Although he planned to be gone for 2 hours, he only took one hour since he couldn't be interested today at all. Was it a mistake to come to this country? He didn't know anymore as he grew bored and more and more bored each day with nothing for writing.

He did however enjoy the sight seeing and soon headed back to the inn. (What now?) he wondered as he came to the inn. He went to his room and sat down. Nothing much to do. He wasn't easily bored but didn't know what to do. Maybe watch TV? Maybe something else.

Reko came back from the baths after she'd cleaned the outside areas a bit and had one of her own. It had been a few hours and she was back in one of her kimonos now. Her hair was still a bit damp, so she left it down for the moment, combing through it now and then. Her make up had been applied once more and she had checked the laundry. It was dry now, and smelled fresh once more. She delivered to the other rooms first, saving Zack's for last.

Hoping for a bit of conversation, the sweet, smaller woman knocked on the door once more, expecting him to be back. "Zack?" she asked. "I have your laundry."

"Come in" he said as he was laying down watching TV. He was wearing the same clothes as he did earlier and wasn't in the mood to change even later tonight. He yawned eating a few chips while watching a japanese movie. He could barely understand considering how fast they were talking. (And they say english is hard....) he thought rolling his eyes.

The lovely woman entered and carried his folded things with her as she entered. "Welcome back," she said with a pleasant smile. "How was your outing?" she asked, coming closer to him with the bundle. It was nice to see him, but she wondered why his expression was so sad. Her eyes flickered to the movie he was watching and she smiled, recognizing the scene. It was one she enjoyed watching--a comedy of sorts, though it was quite old.

"A VERY boring day..." he said this time in Japanese. "As peaceful as it is, not much to do although I am trying to find writing inspirations. I honestly feel like I've seen 'all' of this country side of Kyoto Japan" He added.

She smiled and sat on the bed next to him, handing him his clothes. "I could show you more," she said. "I'm sure you haven't seen everything in your time here, but I'm not sure what you wish to see." She smelled of cherry blossoms and vanilla, her body a bit closer to his than their relationship warranted, though that wasn't of concern to her.

"What kind of writing are you trying to do?" Now since he was speaking in Japanese, she answered him in like so that he could practice.

"Anything that comes to mind" he said sitting up straight. He took the clothes gracefully while taking note of her scent. "took a bath I see" he said smiling as he walked over to the dresser.

She smirked at his noticing her scent and couldn't help but smile at his comment. "Well, I must be more careful when I'm in the outdoor bath," she teased. "One of the perks of owning a place like this is using the facilities for free," she said with a chuckle. "Unless you prefer a sweaty woman. But you seem the type to want to make her that way." She winked and then stood up and stretched. "I can take you to any number of places, but I don't know where you've been."

"I saw everything that this place could offer thank you anyways" he explained to her laughing a bit. After he finished he looked at her. "Can I ask you something? Why do you enjoy staying here when there's very little to do in the country side? All you have is a Inn yet no family who have moved far away" he asked.

His question cut at her a bit, though she was sure he hadn't intended it that way. Her face, for a moment lost it's normal happiness and was replaced with a sadness only a mother could know. "The city is no place for me. My children have told me often enough that I would hate it there. But they forget that I've been there. I used to live there before they were born."

Reko stood up and combed through her hair once more, the only feature she had that made her look different from the others in the area, though she was considered to be quite a beauty among them. In that moment, she looked incredibly lonely. "I stay because this is my husband's home, and it's the only thing I have left of him. My family doesn't like it here, but for me there is peace and love. And it's all I have left. My children never come to see me anymore, so I stay where there is something for me." She smiled again and looked back at him.

"There is much more to see than meets the eye. Perhaps you're just looking in the wrong places? Why not tell me what it is you're looking for?"

He actually laughed at the last thing she said. "sorry sorry, I just thought of something back home when you said that" he replied honestly as he then said, "So you enjoy the country side more than the city huh?" he asked her curiously.

"I can understand; I have a grandmother who moved back to the country side where she was raised" he explained to her.

"The city has little to offer me that I can enjoy on my own, and I'm afraid no one's interested in me." She smiled and shrugged. The grandmother statement threw her off her balance though. Was he comparing her to an old woman? She was getting older, yes, but since when was she a crone?

"It's not quite the same thing, Zack," she said, turning to face him, crossing her arms a bit. "But then again, we old women think in similar ways. I guess I'll go back to knitting," she teased, only a little offended. And then she turned to leave, thinking he didn't want to talk to her. He didn't understand because he was far too young. Perhaps companionship, even in the way they had it now, was asking for too much.

"Well then I was wondering; when will dinner be ready?" he asked her as she handled the meal times regardless whenever he was hungry. The food here was great although he wish he could eat whenever he wanted. He didn't know that he offended her a bit but then again, he wasn't really refering her as old. As much as he knew, she was in her 30s although he didn't know her actual age.

Reko frowned as he let her go, calling her back only to ask what time he could eat. He really was like a child. Well, it was better this way. Better she not get her hopes up that they could be friends. She was too old. He was far too young. She turned back with that false smile she gave customers. "Dinner will be ready at seven. It's a larger meal tonight, so it will take a bit longer." She bowed gracefully and then left him to himself, heading down to the lobby to tell her assistant about the meal time. Then she went to help in the kitchen. It would be a fabulous, traditional move.

"I look forward to it" he said happily as he then said, "What are you making if I can ask?" he smiled in pleasure thinking of how well the food was. He was like her own son after all which made her day from what it looked as he was still young enough to be her actual son. But she left without responding. (She must've not have had heard me) he thought watching her go. He laid on the floor yawning. (Man I need to have another hobby...) he thought also. He looked at the laptop. He walked over to it and looked something on the internet using his phone's service as a hotspot.

When seven o'clock came around dinner was ready. A traditional feast had been prepared: rice, miso and tofu soup, spicy stew, fish, and freshly cooked vegetables. Reko set the tables for the guests once more and loaded plates with the portions that were appropriate, adding some sake to the settings as well. Her hair was now up in an elegant style and she was just as lovely was ever when the first guests began to arrive. She welcomed them and made sure they had everything they needed before sitting at a little table of her own, eating her meal quietly and alone.

Zack was watching many videos on Youtube as well as events going on with soccer, movies, and of course, porn. He yawned as he waited for his dinner to arrive. He looked at the porn and then to Hentai. (Well I AM in Japan...) he thought blushing a bit as he looked through it. He saw many different themes and saw a good one. "Forbidden?" he thought aloud as he looked through it. It showed a Older woman suducing a younger man in a inn. He actually chuckled when he first thought about where he was. (She didn't hit on me) he thought.

He got up after seeing the time it was and walked down to the dinning hall. He saw other guests (mostly other Japanese from different cities) sitting down. He walked over to a table.
