The job was simple, in Samson DaVinci's case. All he had to do was to just get this princess to the Sapphire Kingdom in one piece and that was that. After it was all said and done, he would be given a hefty payday to live out for quite possibly the rest of his life.

There was one little problem. He wasn't even a registered bodyguard. He had to lie his ass off in order to get there in order to even get close to her, which alone was a very difficult task. But nevertheless, Samson took careful and calculated measures to "ensure" that he was selected out of the others for the task that was assigned to him. However, as he would soon come to find out, the princess was just nothing more that your typical princess: A rich, spoiled brat that had a tendancy to grate anyone's nerves that came within earshot. Samson even heard tales from others of how they would love to take her down a few pegs or so.

But Samson was a patient man. That was all he had to do, was to just be patient and take his time with her, even if it was a two week trip.

Packing up for the trip was also necessary, so he needed to grab only the necessities that were required: Two weeks worth of clothes when he was not in his special made armor, food, water and his greatsword, Firebrand. Other than that, it was all he was going to need for this, he figured.

Once everything was set on his end, Samson soon stepped out of his room and proceeded to head outside to the waiting caravan that was ready to take him, a small team of volunteers, two horses hitched to the carriage and then the most important piece of cargo, the princess herself. While he waited, Samson rooted through his belongings, making sure that he had everything before nodding his silent approval and placed them up onto the top of the carriage then slung the massive blade to his back.

From there, Samson stood near the carriage, waiting with a cast-iron look of patience on his face. But even waiting was proving to be a bit of a chore, causing him to tap his armor plated boot upon the ground, narrowing his bright oceanic eyes slightly in annoyance.

Come on, you little brat. We haven't got all day... He thought before glancing off to the side towards the mid-afternoon sky with a frown on his face.

    • As though his thoughts had summoned her, the daughter-heir of Midland (ahaha, I'm stuck on Berserk ;-;) appeared atop the palace steps, flocked by various ladies in waiting and servants. Not to mention the Queen herself. The princess Fiona looked as radiant as ever in a scarlet and lace gown, her golden curls tumbling over her shoulders like a silken cape. She was laughing merrily with her mother, ignoring the servants around her as though they were merely a part of the scenery. Which, honestly, she thought they were sometimes. The group approached Samson slowly, Fionna disregarding the knight the entire time. She said her good-byes to her mother, hugging the older women and giving her a soft peck on the cheek, before mounting her horse.

It was only when she was ready to go, did she even glance Samson's way.
"Are you ready yet? I wish to leave immediately," she said, looking at Samson with level blue eyes. It was obvious that she was used to others jumping to do her bidding. She sat straight in her saddle, her ankles together modestly as she sat sidesaddle. Being who she was, she obviously couldn't ride saddlestride like the men do, even though it would have been more comfortable. Besides, she certainly couldn't ride saddlestride in a gown! Her legs would have been bare up to the knee! The immodesty of it brought color to her cheeks.

It defintely took her some time, but eventually the bratty princess would soon arrive and only acknowledged him with that typical remark of hers before watching her hop up onto the horse in a sidesaddle position. His face did not budge even a milimeter as he glared at Fiona the entire time.

"We've been ready for the past half hour, m'lady," Samson answered, his tone coming out slightly stiff. "The rest of the time was spent waiting on you, as always." He added as he soon walked over to his warhorse and climbed on it in a saddlestride position.

"If we have no other pressing issues, madam, I suggest we get going. It's a two week trip to the Sapphire Kingdom, and I don't appreciate being late." He concluded once he was on.
