  • Of all the people who Fate could put together, she decided that it'd be humorous for Kyo and Yuki to be stuck with each other. As if it was some inevitable destiny, Tohru left to stay over at her friend's house, and Shigure, claiming he had 'business' to take care of for an entire week, cursed him to dwell with the god-forsaken cat. His insides tingled with creepy crawlies as he imagined being under the same roof with Kyo, but he concluded that it would be best for him to ignore the truth he couldn't deny and divide the place in half so that they wouldn't have to come in contact with each other. He would hate having to cook for someone who wouldn't even lift a finger for his own food, and he assumed that he would have to eventually take care of the chores without the cat's help. Well, he wasn't going to let himself suffer so miserably while observing that lazy cat lying around and doing nothing. He had Tohru to boss around when she was here, but now that she wasn't, who would he be able to rely on ? Yuki had his own ways of torturing idiotic people like Kyo. He was just every trait the rat-boy despised in a human being rolled into one annoying cat-morph.

As Shigure left in the early evening, Yuki was busy cleaning up his side of the house. With a neat apron wrapped around his waist and a broomstick in hand, he paced the tatami floors, making sure to make his end incomparably cleaner than Kyo's. Then, when his uncle would return, he'd see how much of a failure Kyo was in comparison to him. There was a distinguishable white line trailing down the middle of the entire household, and this marked their separate territory claims for the entire upcoming week. Yuki claimed Shigure's room to sleep at in exchange for the sink, while Kyo possessed the ever-so-useful laundry room and spacious study enclosure. But Yuki had his own resources to make up for his losses. He could wash his clothes by hand and cope with reading a few books in Shigure's room, however much he despised anything that mentioned pornography or obscene subjects ... He was dead-serious about this, of course. If the cat underestimated his decision and would later decide to cross over that line, he would make sure to kick his ass so hard that he'd need surgery to remove his implanted foot.

Yuki leaned against the door frame that connected to Kyo's side of the place, arching his eyebrows in mild amusement. How could he be lounging around like that when there were so many tasks to be taken care of ? Ah, he forgot. Kyo was nothing more than a useless cat. " I applaud your laziness, Kyo. You should be hungry ... after all, you've been in that position for over an hour now, " he teased, patting his full stomach in happiness. Such were the rewards of being able to cook for oneself, really. Even though he wasn't a great cook, there were such convenient inventions like instant curry to make up for his poor skills as a chef. With his daily chores done, he propped the broom in the corner of the room and headed into the kitchen to prepare a cup of tea for himself. After heating up a bit of water and adding a tea bag into the decanter that held it, he brought both the pouring jar and the jade green mug into the living room to enjoy the rest of his evening in complete silence.

But he could settle for hearing Kyo's stomach growls, too.[/list:u]

He hadn't liked the idea that he'd be under the same roof as the rat, then again- he didn't even like the fact that the rat was able to breathe while in close quarters with him. He couldn't really remedy that when it came down to his own complaints, no matter how many times he had tried besting the rat he had gotten his rear handed to him in the fashion of being tossed around like a rag doll after just a few punches. One would imagine he'd learn after the first few tries, but nope- he still had the fight in him. Still wanting to pulverize that stupid other he had to live with for the week. His own 'exercises' to help with his strength and awareness hadn't been helping, after being bested once again- he simply felt like laying around. The usual in his case as he rested on the mats, staring out at the sky through one of the nearby windows. No attempt at cleaning the house had come from him, but then again- maybe it was best that way. Considering the property damage he could do when he lost his temper; tables, doors, ceiling, roofs- nothing was safe from the cat when he was positively aggravated by the rat. Resting where he had been found an hour or so ago, it seemed he hadn't even tried to change his position. Body rest in the same jeans and shirt as he stared out.

Then there was that annoying noise. Oh wait. That was Yuki's voice, never mind that- it was more than annoying. It was detestable. At least to the cat as he started to fume under the rat's words. Couldn't the other just shut up for once? No he just had to keep being the same old annoying male that he wanted to bash in. "Shut up" he snapped, raising halfway through his position so that his hands propped up his slightly arch back. Ah yes, just like a cat no? How his back acted with his feelings? Had he been in his cat form he would have surely had his tail on end while hissing at the other. His eyes stared at the other as patted his stomach, yes he hadn't eaten but rubbing it in just made it all the worse. He grit his teeth before starting to mutter the same thing over and over again as he rested back in place, arms crossed over his chest as he stared out angrily. "Stupid rat.. stupid rat.. stupid rat.." it seemed the cat was trying his best to hold in his anger. Not that it would do him any good as he hit his peak, swiftly getting up as the rat returned into the room with tea.

Mock him would he?! It burned him up inside as he glared at the other angrily, about ready to break something or break the rat- though the later would seem rather unlikely. "You damn rat!" he screamed on the top of his lungs, about ready to smash something. Well that would have happened as he drew towards the other, trying to cross the line. It seemed the line had a different plan for the cat. For part of the area before him the two had used what seemed to be velcro tape or something a bit stronger than the said duct tape that graced the floor. The moment the cat had brought his foot up to it, he hadn't realized that the tape itself had decided to attach itself to the top of his foot. Within the next few seconds he was flat on the floor, arms having flailing out confused as he made for the floor. Some of the rat's tea had been misplaced when he had fallen; simply adding insult to injury as the hot liquid splashed over his skin. Instantly it turned a hot red as the cat- tried to regain any shred of sanity in his mind.

From mad to embarrassed in t-minus ten seconds.

  • Could cats be any stupider ? It was amazing how those anti-social animals got themselves up in rank as one of the smartest creatures in the mammal kingdom when Kyo was just solid proof that they didn't deserve the honorary position. Rats, on the other hand, were detested for being mere rodents, but their intelligence gave them the ability to outsmart a cat anytime, anywhere. That was why the only television show Yuki enjoyed watching was Tom and Jerry, where the mouse prevailed and claimed victory in the end. Rats were superior to cats, and that was that. Yuki expected Kyo to storm over with that nasty temper tantrum of his, but he didn't foresee the whole floor acrobatics and the spilling of hot tea. Brave, Kyo- you've officially reached a higher level of idiocy. Yuki nonchalantly shook his head, wishing for the millionth time that he didn't have to be here with such an annoying human being. Why now of all pleasant times ? " You're pathetic, Kyo. Really pathetic. If you wanted some tea, you could've asked me for some. " he murmured, inching over on his knees to accompany his cousin's side. The cat needed to have everything the hard way, huh ? It looked like he already received his punishment for crossing the line, so he wasn't too frustrated, but rather concerned for the first degree burn he acquired all over his torso and arms.

He would have to be merciful for just one night. With a sigh, he plucked the napkins from the tabletop and mopped the soiled floor with it, using extra ones to dab at Kyo's wound. " Take off your shirt. " he ordered, wanting to see how badly the damage to his chest was. He would have to use some of the herbal remedies that Hatori taught him, much to his obvious dismay. " Stop being so picky and take it off. You wouldn't be able to treat yourself with that pea-brain of yours, anyways. " he grunted, picking himself up to fetch a cool cloth. Shigure did not leave him here with Kyo just to make him suffer like this ... [/list:u]

Well. It seemed fate today, just really hated the cat. Otherwise he would have just gotten out of this with a just a few bruises, instead- he was given a very severe punishment. Not something that cat would have picked at any time as the rat started to dab at his shirt. The hot liquid staining and moving quickly through the fabric to get to his skin. It was painful, but this time- he had no reason to be screaming at anyone but himself. With that in mind, he felt like simply crossing his arms and waiting for it all to go away, but that would simply make it worse. Well worse than it was now as the rat spoke up to the cat. Adding more than just insult injury, making this all the more unbearable. He would have been sneering through a bruise body and probably a broken door had this gone anywhere else. Not today though, it looked like he'd have to be tended to by the rat, as much as he didn't want that damn yuki even near him- he had to concede and let the other work whatever magic he could with herbs and just his overall wisdom.

Muttering something under his breathe as the rat insisted that he take his shirt off, he couldn't help but wait until the rat had left the room. His fingers gripping what dry fabric he could as he raised the fabric off him. It clung for a moment to the hot and wet areas- making them several times more painful, but he got it off after a few good tugs. His arm along with half of his chest had been damaged by the hot liquid, now showing a puffy and disturbing show to the air around it. Kyo glared down at his wounds, hissing some to himself as he tried to touch the growing marks on his chest. He was swiftly met with a large amount of pain, that seemed to rock his form bitterly. If only the rat hadn't had his tea there! He wouldn't have gotten burned like this! It was the rat's fault for being so annoying! He thought growling irritably as he stared out at the nearby door. He could have just been laying around and possibly eating, but no- the rat had to rub everything in and he was the one to get all the pain.

Sitting where he was, it seemed that his body was starting to react weirdly to it all. Not a good thing when he needed to keep his size so the rat could fix up his wounds, but without any say from him- the area filled with smoke. The clothing he wore lay scattered around him as he appeared in his cat form. "DAMN YUKI!" he screamed out in pain, falling onto his back, twitching from the pain. His tail was fluffed out in anger, but his body language told otherwise. THe pain- it was just too much.

  • God, he was going to personally murder Shigure for bestowing this cruel fate upon him. What did he do to deserve such a harsh punishment ? He didn't understand what went on in the cat's microscopic brain sometimes, and quite frankly, he didn't want to find out. He didn't ask for Kyo to act like a madman and charge towards him without the slightest clue that he'd trip over the boundaries. And it was his fault, how ? He could tell that the cat was going to blame his injuries on him, who accused Kyo of his stupidity instead. The cat would have to suck it up and realize that it was his own idiocy that earned him his 'beautiful' torso scar. Why was Yuki treating him, anyways ? Unlike the merciless and dimwitted cat, the rodent-morph was actually considerate enough to mend his wounds for him. A simple apology would have sufficed, but it seemed as if Kyo had other plans. Yuki didn't mind his stubbornness so much, but he wished that Kyo would just accept the fact that he was the vulnerable one in this situation and shut up. Maybe it would be a better decision for him to bring a roll of duct tape, too, just to seal those incredibly annoying lips together so that he may be graced with some silence during the procedure. Yuki rolled his eyes at the cat's immaturity and inability to cope with the pain, setting the bucket of ice and bowl with cold water on the tatami floor next to his twitching body.

" You know, " he shook his head, internally sighing, " Your years of training up on that mountain went to complete waste if you can't even endure a bit of a sting. " He dampened the cool cloth and folded it into a neat square, squeezing it of excess water. Just as he was about to dab at his puffed-up wounds, Kyo transformed into a cat. Great. How was he supposed to treat him now ? It looked like he was having a seizure. " ... You're an idiot. " he grunted, raking his clothes in to fold them neatly. It wouldn't take long for Kyo to poof into his human form again- ... he'd just have to wait for it to actually happen, oh goodie. Yuki crossed his arms defiantly over his chest, waiting rather impatiently for Kyo to appear in front of him, naked from head to toe. Though it would be an unpleasant sight, it would give him a better chance to mop his body down and make sure he wasn't severely wounded ... He flicked his bangs back, groaning in unison with the cat's shrill scream, " You think I want to be here ? You're so ungrateful. " He narrowed his eyes on him, pitying the orange creature for his inability to express his thankfulness.

Why was he bothering with this insufferable animal, anyways ? It wasn't his fault that the cat decided to upgrade himself to a new level of stupidity and end up having his precious tea dump itself all over him. His tea ... " I don't have time to deal with your complaining. Here're the ice and the cloth. Prove yourself to be at least a bit smart to know how to use them. " he murmured coldly, picking himself up to remove himself from the area. He didn't need to stick around and end up making his evening even more horrible than it was already. A quiet reading session would calm his mood.

    [/list:u]

The other just had to rub it in further! Why couldn't the rat be at least a tad bit nicer? No that was impossible for someone like that cold-hearted rat to even consider being nice to the cat. After all their history never suggested that the two would ever get along, especially after what he had done to him so long ago. He wanted to be a member of the zodiac, but all he ended up being was the outcast. Stupid rat. It's all his fault. He thought bitterly as the pain rode in his body and the rat retrieve his clothing to fold. This place would have been silent and serene had the rat never gone over to the cat in the first place, the cat would have still been resting idly nearby, but the rat had to ruin it with his words and actions. Just like the rat to be so cruel! Then just like that after a few more choice words from the rat he was gone, the ice and cloth sitting idly by his side as he awaited his body to return to something manageable. Then with Yuki off the scene, the same oddly timed 'puff' was sent up, the smoke clouding the area as he Kyo laid on his back, clearly naked. This time, he didn't even feel like bothering with clothing. No there was no point. Even if he did hate the rat, he saw no point in covering up- why? Because Tohru wasn't around and his burns needed tending to.

Slowly sitting up, he could feel his skin getting nasty goosebumps as he tried to just get into a much more manageable position. Hissing some from the pain, he went to eye the ice. Slowly he took the cloth and draped it over his thigh as he eyed all the damage. The sudden change had irritated the burnt skin making it turn an even nastier color than before- black. A bad sign for the cat, especially considering he wasn't entirely used to such wounds. He was much more accustomed to bruises and cuts then this. The rat would have been a better helper with this than he. Staring down at his arm, he couldn't help but look over the damage that the hot water had given him. With a sigh, he simply stared at it- gathering some ice to try and put to the wound. Within seconds of placing it, his eyes watered- the cold on the surface while the burning inside was intense. The sensations seemed to quick sweep the cat into a few tears from all the pain, but at least the rat didn't get to see it!

"The world hates me..." he muttered to himself as he tried to clear his eyes of the tears, a few falling to grace his burned skin. That hurt too. Everything that came in contact with his blackened skin hurt. If only this hadn't happened. Biting his lip some he started to press he ice harder against the burn on his arm, not paying attention to the one on his chest. He didn't care what he looked like right now, no- just as long as that stupid rat didn't see him. He would be completely fine.

  • As he made his leave into Shigure's study room to pick out a few books, he poked his head out of the enclosure one more time to see if Kyo was actually treating himself. So far, he was still in cat form. Yuki disappeared from the doorway and paced back and forth in front of the spacious bookshelf, pulling out whatever caught his interest on the bindings of the literary works. Most of them related to pornography and contained intimate romance-centric plotlines, so Yuki returned them to where they belonged with a disgusted huff. His virgin eyes were screwed. In the far left, he was able to find a subject that didn't pertain to any obscenities, and so Yuki opened it in his palm and skimmed the contents of the dusty book. It was poetry. He didn't particularly enjoy reading words of another world, but reading something rhythmic and relaxing would definitely bring himself to think of something or someone else than that damned cat. He ducked his head and read the first few verses of an intensely long poem on the first page, simultaneously making his way out of Shigure's office to his room. But on the way there, he looked up to see a naked and half-black Kyo nursing himself rather clumsily with the cloth he provided. " That's because you're being such an idiot. " he arrogantly murmured in response to Kyo's mourning, trying to mentally stop himself from approaching his cousin a second time.

No, don't submit to your sensitive side ! Nooo ! Too late. Yuki closed the book and set it off to the side, deciding that it would have to wait until later. The burn was far more serious than he expected it to be, so that was what worried him the most. He couldn't leave such a fatal injury in the hands of someone so inexperienced and stupid. Shigure would undoubtedly scold him for leaving him unattended- as ironic as that sounded ... The burn was rather a shock reaction, so the color would fade away in time, but Yuki was far more concerned for the condition of his sensitive skin. " Stop crying, " he ordered, considerately wiping the fallen tear from Kyo's cheek with his thumb. There was a chime of sincere kindness in his voice, but it still sounded serious and dull at the same time. With a forced sigh, he picked up a cube of ice from the bucket and slid its melting and slick surface on Kyo's chest, lathering the burnt area with care. " You're so clumsy, Kyo. It wouldn't hurt to be a bit more careful with yourself ... " he murmured in a low tone, the hostility evaporating from his words.

Carefully, he ran the ice over the boy's right nipple, looking up ever so carefully as he made his cautious ministrations, " And ... I don't hate you. I just dislike you. " He inched in closer to Kyo, picking up another ice cube when the one pinched between his fingers thinned away into water.

    [/list:u]

He hadn't excepted the rat to just reappear on the scene, but here he was. Eyes wide with shock as the other just came straight up to him, wiping a tear away from his eyes. There was nothing he could say, but all the same he felt a slight twang of embarrassment that the rat got to see him like this, even if it was the rat's fault that it happened. Hearing the ordering words of the other, he couldn't help but submit due to his weakened state. Though it he was pushed once again his body would most likely act foul to this and the cat would turned back into his animal form. He didn't want the other to see him like this, but what could he do? He watched he other as he started to help him, seeing as the ice seemed to melt rather quickly against his burnt skin, maybe because it was just that hot? He wasn't even sure as he watched the rat, picking up a piece of ice himself to wash on the burn on his arm. He listened to the other, his weakened expression simply hanging on his lips- never leaving his face.

He mumbled something as the other simply called his clumsy, but that was fine. It was better than what the two usually said to each other. Watching the other, he couldn't help but do so as the other kept tending to him- not much more he could do. It wasn't like he could just get up and walk away from this, it was his body after all. "Mmrm..." he muttered again as if trying to say a few choice swear words under his breathe as he took a slightly more steely expression to his face. Trying to hide up all the weakness he had? Exactly, though screaming and shouting at the rat while he was helping him wouldn't do a damn thing for him, so he had to keep it to himself as the rat let a piece of ice run over one of his nipples. Cringing some from the stimulation- something he hadn't excepted to happen. Slowly the thing started to harden, even if it wasn't someone's direct contact it was still something that tended to attract its attention rather well.

His eyes flickered to a weaker red as the other spoke. Wait? Wait a second! The rat didn't hate him? But? What the--? He always hated the rat for what he was and that fact that he had tricked him and thought that the rat equally hated him. That was why he tricked him in the first place, right? This icy slap in the face was something new, something that caught him entirely off guard. He stared at the other with wide eyes. Mind somewhat baffled by all this. "...." he didn't know what to say, but all the same- he was still rather mad at what the rat had done all those years ago. After a moment his expression simply left his face as he stared at the other, trying to not ending up screaming from frustartion or crying from confusion.

  • Unbeknown to Kyo, he didn't really hate him as passionately as the cat thought he did. No matter how strongly he would deny it, Kyo was a part of his family, so he couldn't hate him. He was his mortal enemy, and he did think he was the most annoying person to have entered his life, but that was all. Aside from his idiotic antics and tendency to be irritable, Kyo was all right. Yuki just pretended to loathe his guts because it was sadistically fun to keep him on edge. Really, a bit of competition helped spur some excitement into this boring household sometimes. He would never cease to consider Kyo as one of his rivals, and vice versa. But being blood related was something he could not escape, no matter how hard he would try to break free of the family bond. Deep ( deep deep deep ) inside, he cared for Kyo just as much as he did with Tohru, Machi-chan, and the rest of the Sohma family. It was just the cat's damned fault that he made it impossible for Yuki to express his sincerity. It was difficult to prove anything if the feline was just too stubborn and immature. " You heard me, Kyo. " he actually smiled, running a diminishing ice cube across the other's shoulders with grace, " Even though you can get to be such a fool sometimes, I don't hate you as much as I say it. "

He wished that he didn't have to be so touchy with him. Ew, gross. But Kyo was finally calming down as if he was enlightened, and that was all he needed right now; a bit of silence. Yuki liked the cat the best when he was sleeping, eating, or doing anything else that kept him unconscious or his mouth full and still. The color was progressively starting to fade from the boy's skin, and it wasn't so grotesque to look at now, but Yuki still winced at the mark that it seared across his cousin's bare chest. By now, his body was positioned in between the other's legs, but the rat didn't seem to take his scandalous spot into serious consideration. Unless they were brawling, they didn't have a chance to be so physical or close to each other. Upon this opportunity, Yuki was able to fully examine the other's features, putting the judgment down that he did look quite attractive in this position when he was so vulnerable and helpless ... Handsomeness was probably inherited by every member of the Sohma family, even by outcasts like Kyo ... " You're upset, aren't you ? " he teased, his lips curling into a devious smirk as he continued to treat his singed flesh with another ice cube, " ... That Miss Honda isn't here to treat you instead of me. "

But he was enjoying this while it lasted. With a smile, he shook off the water from his near frozen fingers, brushing his hair away from his forehead with his wet digits. " You're too sensitive. Your body obviously likes my touch. " he arrogantly grinned, picking up the cool cloth to dampen his warm wounds one more time. " You're welcome. " Yuki nodded, picking up the empty bucket and wash bowl to deposit them in the kitchen again.
    [/list:u]

The other continued to tend at his wounds, the cat unaware of the slight love that was started to fester inside him. Maybe he didn't need to hat the rat for what he had done, but all the same- he had still done it? The past was just something that the cat was still hung up on and maybe, just maybe he could actually look at the future for once. Maybe. He simply watched the other, his own piece of ice gone to water. The rat just kept speaking, breaking the cat down even further? Hell why couldn't the other admit this when the cat was in a good mood like previously before his fall, why now? Why now did the rat seemed so inclined to spill the beans? Or was this some kind of trick like always? No. For once he could tell that Yuki was speaking the truth, though admittedly the cat would have rather heard lies so he could go and scream about it later. He felt like shivering while feeling the ice glide across his skin, but it seemed the heat that he already absorbed into his skin via the hot water was helping him with resisting the urge.

Well looked like the rat just had to keep pounding him for things, even if he had decided to station himself in such a position that would have surely made any other think that the two where very close to 'getting it on'. He glared at the other as he spoke about Tohru. Yes, yes he would have liked to have her here instead of him, but that would also mean Shigure. That would have been much worse in his opinion, then again- he wouldn't be the way he was now, unclothing to the point that if he started to sweat the other would see. He kept the glare on his face, not even trying to complain or fight with the other. Maybe the rat would take note that for once the cat wasn't fighting back? Maybe because he got in his thick skull that the burns where serious or that the rat was just geared to fight with him. Something he was geared to as well, but seemed to show resilience towards.

Then the other said something he wasn't quite used to. His body was sensitive to the other's touch... Oh dear. This had never happened before so he hadn't even thought about the fact that he might react to the rat. Maybe he would have been happy about this, but the way the other held himself simply pissed him off. Glaring at the other, he eyed the rat with contempt. "Have you ever listened to yourself? Stupid... yuki..." he murmured, about ready to scream it at the rat, but unable to as the other went off with the bucket. Well now that he was alone, the cat took to his feet slowly. Ignoring any protest from his body as he went to go and slide his pants back on. Anything! Just as long as he could feel somewhat secure with his own clothing on while that damn yuki was around. Buttoning his pants, he stared down at his body. Eying his burns, nipples included as he tried to trace a finger over them. Well they were better, they still hurt but their was something hurting more than that. How the damn rat was able to just toy with him like he was some sort of pet of his. It sickened him to no end!

"Damn heartless rat..." he muttered, starting to walk off. Not entirely sure where he'd be going, but it didn't matter- just as long as yuki wasn't there. Without even thinking the cat made for outside, walking the porch that sat beside the door. Slowly he walked it, staying in the shade before breaking out towards the woods behind the estate to clear his head.

  • Stubborn cats will always be stubborn cats, he concluded as Kyo ran off to seek some privacy. Silence filled the entire house, and his strained heart felt enlightened with the absence of noise. The cat was undoubtedly offended with what he said about being sensitive, but Yuki hadn't meant anything serious or suggestive by his meaningless tease. He was really prone to being emotionally hurt, but also very ungrateful. Kyo would return in search of food in the evening, so he wasn't worried about the cat getting lost in the wilderness. After all, the outcast did train by himself in the mountains all that time, so Yuki trusted his natural instincts to find his way out of the woods without him having to help him get out. Now, with Kyo out of his way, he was able to finally relax with his chosen book and settle back for a possible nap, maybe. The afternoon's events were totally uncalled for, so he needed a bit of relaxation to assist him in forgetting all of the unneeded drama that happened. Sneaking his way into Shigure's room, he plopped down onto the spacious bed and rolled onto his stomach, propping the collection of poems before him.

Five minutes into reading, Yuki's eyelids became heavy. He was feeling rather exhausted this particular evening for no apparent reason, but it was finally nice to be able to shut his eyes without worrying about anyone or anything. With a sigh, he thumbed through a boring chapter, lazily blinking as he came across a package of photographs that were stuck on the pages he came upon. He picked them up with little curiosity, flipping each of them over. As expected, they were scraps from a pornography magazine. How many did Shigure keep in this room ? With disgust, he slid them into the very end of the book, scowling as he shut the poem piece closed altogether. He would have to take a short nap to replenish his energy. Then, after a three hour snooze, he would make dinner for himself and maybe retire in front of the computer to spend the entire evening on a chatroom or the like. With a yawn, he nudged the book away with his elbow and pulled the gray sheets up to his shoulders, settling in rather comfortably against the comfortable mattress.

In a few seconds, he was lulled away into a deep slumber.

    [/list:u]

It had been a few hours, just a few lonely and aimless hours that the cat had spent outside. Not going too far from the house in case his burns impaired him. He grumbled to himself some, looking down it his feet. Yes, he should have worn some shoes, but hadn't really thought about it due to Yuki. So he was still out here walking barefoot in who knew what, but that didn't last long as he started back. Taking the same trail he did to get to this little alcove of his. Hey it was either the woods or the roof and with these burns the roof would have been a bad idea. That and he didn't exactly wan to signal that he was at the house, just in case Kagura was somewhere nearby searching for him. The woods seemed like the perfect place, well that had. Now coming back to the porch he had easily stepped out from, he went to open the paper door. Staring in he seemed to just eye the duct tape on the floor with a sign of hatred, yes he hated tape now. Especially after what had happened earlier, but their was no need to gripe about it. Still stomach had decided to pester him now, so that was one of the main reasons that cat had returned.

With that in mind he made his way to the kitchen, ready to eat anything so long as it didn't have leeks or the other things he detested. Taking out what seemed to be a sandwich, he started to dress it before just standing in the kitchen and munching. No need to care about crumbs right? Standing there he just seemed to think about things- one being: where's the rat? Looking back and forth while listening to the silence, he couldn't help but wonder where Yuki had gone off to. So naturally he started to transverse the other's 'territory' moving through a few rooms before finding the rat slumbering Shigure's study. It was a good thing he didn't get this place, he couldn't stand being nearby what Shigure saw as a 'good' time. Looking over the place, he turned to leave- sandwich finished by the time he had made it to the room from the hallway.

  • Rats were very sensitive creatures, indeed. So when Kyo visited Shigure's room or rather crossed the boundaries into his territory, his eyelids cracked open ever so carefully as if still giving off the illusion that he was still slumbering. It looked as if the cat, like he assumed, returned to eat by what he could see clenched in his grubby hands. Yuki was too lazy to slide out of his warm sheets to boot Kyo back into his proper place, but the thought of that annoying animal trespassing into his side of the house really irked him. He gripped the top of the sheets in his slender fingers, tugging them up to his shoulders in an effort to conserve more warmth. Yuki rolled onto his side and delicately coughed into a closed fist, using his peripheral vision to glance at the alarm clock set on the lamp counter. It read 8:46, which meant that he took a nap for an approximate one hour and thirty minutes. To prevent the possibility of screwing up his entire sleeping schedule, he ripped the sheets off of his body and slipped out of bed, leaning against the ancient paper doors exhaustively. " Where've you been ? " he asked the leaving cat in a groggy tone, tenderly rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.

But instead of waiting for Kyo to respond, he headed over to the kitchen to meticulously clean up after the mess Kyo made while making his sandwich. If he wasn't going to be keeping the house tidy, then someone else needed to step up to the plate. Bending over, he picked up the fallen crumbs between his fingers and threw them into the sink, washing them down with a gentle spray of the faucet. " Will you please pick up after yourself ? " he requested of him with irritation, ruffling the back of his head with a yawn. Well, besides the fact that the kitchen looked like it was literally the aftermath of some feast for the rats, Yuki was glad that the house was still standing. After all, when he was sleeping, Kyo could have created some other disaster by setting the place on fire or something else catastrophic.

Yuki turned around ever so gracefully, tilting his head at a slight angle to ask, " By the way, how's your wound ? Do you feel a bit better ? " He wasn't in the mood to engage in another head-splitting competition with him, so Kyo was rather fortunate to catch Yuki in a pleasant mood. Then again, it only took a few idiotic words from the cat's arrogant mouth to piss the rat off again.

To say he excepted the rat to be up the moment he hit his room was beyond him, but all the same it wasn't out of the question- right? So seeing the rat just get up after tossing his covers didn't really seem to annoy or scare him. Maybe somewhat bother him because the rat would continue egging him on, but otherwise it was fine. Looking over at the other as he leaned on the paper door, he took in the look of the other. Never would he fight rat when he was sleeping. Not for good sportsmanship but for the fact that at that point the Rat seemed to be super powered compared to him and could easily send him through the roof if his punches connected. The thought had enraged him, but it had hurt him severely the first time when he had learned this. Never would he do that again! Opening his mouth some he had seemed somewhat inclined to tell the rat what he had been doing, even if the other wouldn't really see it as something worth while and probably mock him for actually saying it. He was unable to even say a word as the rat simply walked off, making the cat eye the other angrily. Damn rat! he thought, for once not screaming it on the top of his lungs as the other made for the kitchen, obviously interested in seeing whatever damage the cat could have done to the house. Hey at least it was standing right?

He had one of his temple veins throbbing from just how the rat could be, especially how he could ask him a question then just walk off without an answer and with that the rat was already talking about the small mess he had made. Twitching his ears some along with one eye, he had felt inclined to smash the other's face in, but what was the use? He'd get horribly tossed around and with the burns on his body it would only worsen them. Just for that fact he stayed quiet before leaning against a wall, teeth in his lips as he stifled any angry words he could summon for the heartless rat. How was the other able to just switch back and forth? He couldn't understand that well enough, though it seemed the sudden change had startled the cat. Making him jump back from the wall he had been trying to use as a support and ended up nearby the rat, now on his rear. Staring up he eyed the other with an angry look on his face, before puffing up his cheeks. He held the air in for a moment before simply letting it out with a slight groan. Even if it wasn't the side that had burns the sudden fly had hurt his body some.

If this really was a pleasant mood for the rat then the cat was virtually dead. No matter what the other got on his nerves, especially now, but he would try to just push that away so he wouldn't end up roadkill. "Its better" he stated simply, the other could see it as clear as day, after all he was only wearing a pair of pants right now.

  • Abandoning his duties in the kitchen, he silently strode over to Kyo and tilted his head as he inspected his wounds. It didn't look too terrible after his helpful ice treatment, and his alone time in the wilderness seemed to have lowered the overall danger of the burn. Kyo needed to be responsible for keeping it disinfected and keeping it from getting irritated, but Yuki somehow couldn't trust him with his own body. If Shigure saw it, wouldn't he blame it on the rat for leaving him unsupervised ? Looking after Kyo was like tending after a six-year old child, if not a younger toddler. His temper tantrums matched that of a stuck-up girl, but Yuki was surprised to hear that the cat was actually being cooperative for a change. Maybe he finally came to his senses this time ... Whatever the reason, a gentle smile creased across his lips, and he ran his fingertips over the stinging injuries, examining them closer to know how to treat it better in the future. " That's good. " Yuki nodded, looking back over towards the empty kitchen again. He turned back to glance at his first-degree burns, pursing his lips together as if hesitating for a second, " Do you want me to get some more ice for you ? You look like you need a bit more. " But that was all Kyo's choice. He didn't want to force anything the feisty cat didn't want. After all, the tired rat wasn't up for fighting and wrestling with a stubborn teenager who could never act his age. For now, it seemed as if Kyo knew very well that he shouldn't mess with him when he was clearly at an advantage.

Why hurt the people who were helping him, anyways ? That would make Kyo the 'heartless' one. " Wipe that frown off of your face, Kyo. It makes you look uglier. " he murmured, abandoning the sitting cat to fetch a damp cloth. He dunked it in ice water and squeezed out all the excess liquid, returning with it hanging over the palm of his left hand. He descended to his knees in front of his distant cousin, gingerly holding Kyo's scar-less shoulder with one hand while mopping the crisped flesh with the other. His ministrations were rather motherly, and the warm glint in his eyes wasn't that of the usual Yuki being forced to take care of Kyo because he was worried that Shigure might scold him. He was actually worried about the cat ... and felt pity for him, because he knew how badly burns hurt. If it made Kyo feel any better, he was willing to apologize for a crime he didn't really commit. " I'm sorry, Kyo ... " he murmured in a low voice, " Maybe it was my fault that the tea spilled on you. But nevertheless, you shouldn't have been so full of yourself at that moment ... and the absence of your arrogance might have saved you from this accident ... "

He wiped Kyo's face with the back of the wet towel, too, taking off the dirt coating that accumulated on his handsome facial features from rushing through the forest like he did an hour or so ago. " Do you really think I'm heartless ? ... " he randomly asked, moving the miniature towel across the cat's neck ever so carefully as if he didn't want to touch the wounds that were just mere centimeters away.
