Hopefully, I am not alone when it comes to downright loving peculiar and forgotten vernacular.
Which brings me to the item at hand.
Wordjunkies. Phraseologists. What are some words/phrases/terms/etc. that you feel have been wrongly left behind?

I'll throw some of mine out there:
Blatherskite - a purveyor of nonsense
Dollymop - a person (this term usually applied to the female variety) of ill-repute
Jackanapes - An act or a person who is mischievous, or quite cheeky and presumptuous
Hornswaggle - To swindle
Gallimaufry - An absurd melody; or odds and ends
Balderdash - Nonsense, usually trivial
Miasmal - Vaporous, poisonous or any combination thereof.
Eldritch - Weird, unearthly, eerie, etc.
Ruddy/Bally - Mild intensifiers
Fop - An overly fashionable aristocrat, usually male in this case.

Knave - An unprincipled or crafty person
Cad - An ill-bred man who behaves in a dishonourable or irresponsible way towards women
Harlot - A prostitute or Whore (Though originall referred to a man of no fixed occupation)

Ok, so my old style words consist primarily of insults, but hey ^^;;

Huzzah! I've used cad and harlot before, but knave! I haven't heard that one in bally ages!
Ancient insults are the best kind.

You unfairly call me a harlot too ):

I like the old Shakespearean Insults:

O! Illiterate loiterer!
Venomed lily-livered horn-beast!
Gorbellied base-court hedge-pig

-Takes a breath- ANYWAY, as for old vocabulary, I stick with simple things-- Like pish-posh, and Ta-ta.

Though, I do often want to call someone a Rake. You are a fucking ol' time pimp. Mm, yummy.
