“I bet you can’t stay like this forever.” Her father in good humor teased at his daughter. All three of them were in different position, stretched out on a twister board in the family room. “John,” her mother laughed, trying to keep her knee’s locked so she didn’t fall. “Just spin the damn thing Rachel.” John said competitively trying to keep a straight face. Jennifer was letting out small noises, trying not to laugh. She was stuck, tangled in-between both her parents, both of her arms and legs spread out of different colored circles. Her mother, Rachel carefully reached out, balancing on her three limbs, while spinning it.

“Right food red.” She read out at John. Her father did his best to move one leg in-between his wives two legs and his daughter’s one arm. He was in an awkward position, almost provocative, his wife laughing made him collapse flat. Jennifer plopped down knowing the game was over, she laughed out. A little to excitedly than one should be even for the joyful situation. Her adoptive parents were in each other’s arms laughing, not minding. The sweet sound of their adopted daughters energetic laugh brought happiness.

giphy.gif

Jennifer laugh was a little jumpy, heated with high breaths as her eyes lit up like a little kid. She coughed out a little, holding herself up with one fist, using her other to cover her mouth. “Easy there Jen…” Her father said not wanting her to get to wound out and start an asthma attack, she nodded, still breathing hard trying to simmer down her laughing. The doorbell started going off, someone was at the front door. Both of her parents looked at each other curious, her mother shrugged. Jennifer while still laughing somewhat pushed up, but her father was already on his feet saying he would get it. Jennifer took the bottle of water her mother gave her, Rachel winked at her rubbing her shoulder lovingly. Her mother took a slight glance on her daughters Fitbit, they got one that tracked her heartrate and breathing. It was a little higher than normal but still within the safe range.

Suddenly her father was yelling at her mother, but his tone automatically alerted Jennifer. “RACHEL…. GET JENNIFER IN HER ROOM, NOW!” Rachael also looked concerned. You could hear John giving threats to whoever was at the front door. “CALL THE POLICE ONCE YOU GET HER UPSTAIRS.” He called back. Rachael’s facial features changed to motherly and protective, as if she knew.

“Mum…” Jennifer asked confused as her mother grabbed her hand pulling her down the hall away from the family room, the opposite end from the front of the house. Rachael guided Jennifer up the stairs to the second floor from the kitchen entryway, she rushed them down the hall toward her daughter’s bedroom. “Mum…who is that, what’s going on…is Dad ok?” She asked, scared. As they passed the stairs that led down to the living room, Jennifer looked down and could hear her father’s angry words.

“You have no damn right to be here. We clearly told Dr. Fletcher we wanted no communication, no visitation. We don’t want her to know!” He yelled at the unknown visitor.

Jennifer grounded herself, planting her socks into the thick carpet, making her mother stop. “Who is that?” She whispered, in a desperate tone. She continued to hear her father and the unknown man argue, making her father more and more pissed.

“RACHARL CALL THE GOD DAMN POLICE PLEASE!” He yelled. Jennifer pushed her mom off and started descending the stairs in at a rapid pace. Her father looked back, looking worried she was approaching and tried to motion for her to stop but she didn’t listen. She got almost to the end of the staircase, and could see past her father at a rather strange, bald man standing outside, he had a hand behind his neck rubbing it nervously. His blue eyes peered up to meet hers, he had the same exact shade of blue eyes. Soon as eye contact was made, Jennifer felt her body go weak, leaning into the banister. She had seen the man before, at the local Philadelphia Zoo several times, each time was meaningless, as he was just a janitor or working concession. She fell to one knee, holding into the banister railings as she started breathing very hard.

John had tried to slam the door but the bald man had wedged himself in-between and was stronger, so strong he caught the door holding it back. She saw what looked like his eyes glossing as he kept eye contact. There was some weird connection, she recognized him, as if she had been across the line and pulled through, as if she had broken time and fallen through to this specific moment. That frontiers had been torn apart.

“Who…Who-Who are you.” She asked, her eyes swelling with big tears. Her mother was behind, consoling her, she had already called the police. The man had kept eye contact, tears silently decorating his face as he has this weird, attractive smile.

“Your father…” her mother whispered, burying her face in her daughters hair, almost tearful, holding her protectively at a distance on the stairs.

Heaven's distraction
There's no persuasion
Stronger than sorrow

It's stronger than
...

It's a matter of choice
Learning to trust
My hand to you
My hand to you
Just as simple

Just as simple as that
You're only human
An observer at that
And if you're wary
Don't believe me at that

Dr. Fletcher already warned him. Jennifer’s adoptive parents did not want him involved in her life. For far too long, Kevin had not known his daughter. The urge to keep her was becoming too much to handle, lately. After a late session with the doctor, Kevin managed to sort through all his psychiatrist’s files and find the address. He was met with animosity and refused to leave. Recently, Kevin showed signs of being more stable than ever before. This emotional tension was not going to help keep that stability. Despite the police being called, Kevin was not budging. When his eyes landed onto Jennifer’s, something extravagant happened. She felt it too. She was practically begging him to save her. His mind was running wild. Look how violent her adoptive father was. She was in tears! They were hurting her and she needed to be saved.

“Dennis” had taken over. Arguably the most violent personality that lived inside of Kevin was “Dennis”. When this personality came to light, nothing could stop this man. It was almost like he could squat and bench press two hundred more pounds than he could without “Dennis’” help. With one violent shove, Kevin threw a shoulder into the door and aptly broke one of the hinges. John grunted and was sent flying into a glass table that was near the door. With nothing standing in between him and his daughter, Kevin stormed towards Jennifer.

james-mcavoy-split-trailer.gif

Once arriving, his hands tightly gripped her biceps. Rachel tried to push him away but she was no match. With only one hand wrapping around the older woman’s neck, Kevin tossed her down like a ragdoll. Her head slammed onto the ground and the back of her head was busted wide open. Returning his attention onto Jennifer, a sinister smile spread to his lips.

“My daughter… my beautiful daughter. You look just like your mother.”

tumblr_ob03uiitYJ1r9pt1so3_500.gif

Their eyes were locked and Kevin almost forgot where he was. His lips leaned down and gently tickled her earlobe before his warm breath was whispering into her ear. The whir of sirens outside meant he needed to get his ass out of the house.

“You and I will be together soon. I have missed you and thought about you every day. You belong to me. I will save you from these people. I will save you from this world.”

Although he was violent towards her adoptive parents, he was gentle with his daughter. Ten bruises on her upper arms would be visible though from where he grabbed her. Standing up from the blonde, Kevin turned to walk away just as John charged at him again. John had taken a shard of glass from the table and swung at Kevin. It sliced part of Kevin’s forehead before a swift kick was sent into the older male’s abdomen and he toppled back onto the ground.

With enough time to make his getaway, Kevin turned back around and playfully winked at Jennifer one more time before walking out of the house. The police were getting closer so he took off sprinting and disappeared behind some houses in the neighborhood. He followed backroads and bridges until arriving back home.

Well, his home was underneath the zoo where he worked. Nobody knew this even existed. Once he arrived, Kevin locked up and found some old medical supplies to clean his head. “Patricia” seemed rather upset that he was thinking about his daughter in the context while “Dennis” was defending himself. Besides, Jennifer was gorgeous.

Their whore of a mother should have never given her away. She asked for this. His mother abused him and was asking to be raped. When he turned eighteen, he took advantage of his mother and ended up impregnating her. He thought this was going to be a good thing. It was not because she sent the baby away.

Ever since that day, Kevin could not stop thinking about her. They first locked eyes at the zoo a few months prior. Since then, Kevin was fixated on finding her and bringing her home where she belonged. Every day was spent preparing her room and making sure nobody would ever find them. If John and Rachel would not allow him to take Jennifer freely, he would take her by force.

tumblr_oazczhb0Wa1qgvqxoo1_500.gif

Believe it or not, Kevin did not intend to hurt anyone today. He merely wanted to talk. It was all John’s fault for triggering the violent personality and refusing to give up Kevin’s daughter. Besides, a parent always deserved to have their child. He wanted to be with Jennifer like his mother was with him. Except, he wanted to add the aspect of caring for her. They could both stimulate each other and love each other until the end of days. Nobody was going to stop him from accomplishing that.

Jennifer felt her breaths become harder, her throat tightening, more saliva being produced made her gulp. She didn’t scream, or cry out, not verbally. Even when her adoptive mother was thrown down the stairs, one of the last steps making her head bust open. She didn’t dare move. Kevin’s had a death grip, firmly on each of her upper arms, her skin exposed because she was just in a tee. His words, his tone of voice which was a combination of comfort and promise wrung in her ears. His hot breath tickled her ear. He had leaned down, easily crouched on the stairs as he whispered into her ear.

“You and I will be together soon. I have missed you and thought about you every day. You belong to me. I will save you from these people. I will save you from this world.”

Her exhale quivered as he let go to get charged and attached by her adoptive father. John had let a sharp shard of glass make a laceration against the assailant’s forehead. She covered her mouth, trying to control her breathing as silent tears made rivers down her cheeks. John was sent toppling back to the ground. Jennifer got one last wink, a gesture out of place, sealing the promise before he took off sprinting. Jennifer pushed up, climbed down the last few steps, stepping over her mother and running outside just enough to see him disappear down a few horses, jumping a fence. He was perfect shape; his running was fast and he was athletic. She stood outside, shaken but more stunned than any other emotion. The police and ambulances was rushing down the street, flashing colored lights shining brightly.

A paramedic came to the young girl’s aid but she just motioned for them to go inside, the one stayed with her as others quickly went inside to help her adoptive parents. A blanket was thrown around the girl once she was visibly checked over for any injuries. They were all taken to the hospital.

Later that night Jennifer sat on a hospital bed crossed legged. Even though she had no psychical injuries other than bruising on her arms, she had been admitted to have her mental state and asthma monitored. Her mother had to have stitches, and her father had some broken ribs and a few cuts. They had pressed charges on Kevin Windle Crumb, but Jennifer refused to do so herself. Her father was furious, trying not to yell at her, trying to get her reasoning. All she said was if both her parents had restraining orders, there wasn’t any need for an unnecessary third. She was of age; she was nineteen and therefore was legally able to make her own decisions. She also had lied, when asked if Kevin had said anything directly to her, anything alarming.

She should have informed the police and hospital staff that Kevin and her would be together soon, that she belonged to him, that she would save her from everybody. Those were dangerous promises. Her mind was in too much shock from meeting the man who had conceived her. She had no idea any more than that. Her parents had never told her a damn thing other than she was adopted and her mother had died giving birth, which also was a lie. She had heard her father threaten to take his psychologist to court, suing her. He had even called his lawyer at midnight.

+++++++++

Hours later, they had all been discharged from the hospital, the small family a sheer mess, torn apart. Rachel hadn’t left Jennifer’s side since she could be with her. Once they had gotten home, police were stationed outside of the house. Rachael had gone up with Jennifer to get ready for bed. Jennifer was so exhausted, she didn’t even change out of her leggings and tee, leaving on her hospital bracelet. Her mother crawled in bed with her, holding her. John was to worried and furious to sleep, so he left his wife and child to rest while he kept watch.

“Baby are you ok?” Rachel asked, pulling the covers over them, asking such a question when she was the one with stitches and a minor concussion.

“Yeah….” Jennifer mumbled, her back to her mother, as her mother held her tight, ruffling her hair as they watched one of her lights project different colored stars on the wall.

“He’s a very sick man…we kept him away to protect you. He shouldn’t have tried to make contact. Your father is thinking about having us move if he can transfer, this is an emergency so they will probably do him that favor. He can do business trips up here.” Her mother said, Jennifer stayed quiet.

“Why is he sick, what didn’t you tell me…?” She purposely didn’t mention she had seen him several times at the zoo while growing up.

Her mother sounded like she was trying to hide her own emotions, her fear for her daughter and empathy for the whole situation.

“He’s sick Jen…very very sick. His mother abused him brutally, he formed some sort of mental illness," she said not knowing which one, they hadn’t let the doctor get that far into conversation when she made contact, “He raped his mother, and that’s how…. you were conceived.” She cried, burying her head into her daughters back.

Jennifer stayed still, not moving, not crying, she stayed focus on the different colored lights absorbing the horrifying taboo truth of her past. She was a child conceived of incest. She had been giving breathing treatment so her airways were very open and she just took slow silent breaths. She let her mother pull her as close as possible. Silence was the best thing as her thoughts spiraled into one another as she fell asleep.

The last step in preparing his home for Jennifer’s arrival was reinforcing the defenses around his area. Nobody ventured around the lower area of the zoo. Most people were unaware of the existence. Every entrance was reinforced with a pattern and system of locks on every door. In the area outside the entrance to his home, Kevin set up different traps. Despite having dissociative identity disorder, Kevin was a genius. One personality was named Spencer. Spencer was a male in his early thirties with multiple degrees in the technology field. Spencer had the highest IQ and general intelligence of all personalities. He was the thinker.

Thanks to regular tools from a local hardware store and everyday items, Spencer rigged explosives and pressure plates and cameras everywhere. One of the smallest rooms inside his home was full of monitors. A camera was in every room and in every possible invasion angle from outside. A single switch was placed inside that room to trigger the traps or make them stay in a rest mode. He was smart enough to not have the traps activated if he was out and about. One wrong step and he would be ripped to shreds or blown into a million pieces.

For the past ten years, Kevin lived here. The gift offered the location as a courtesy. It was the lowest of living conditions but Kevin would likely not function anywhere else. Over the past decade, multiple rooms have been developed. The room he paid most attention to was for Jennifer. A bed, a functioning bathroom and shower, books, television, and other items for her living space. Most of his time and focus went into building her room. The hope she would one day come home to him kept the process moving along. The room was only missing the girl.

Kevin had a feeling he was close to finding Jennifer. Ever since they locked eyes at the zoo, the male started researching about Jennifer. Most of the work was done by Spencer. The intelligent and rational personality needed to research about Jennifer. Different medical conditions were found after researching what hospital and doctor she sought. Through the sly tactics of another personality, Jessica, he found the proper documents. Jessica was a young woman. She was sultry and seductive naturally. Even without using her body to lure her way into trouble, she had a sly set of skills to sneak around parameters to find what information she needed. It took keeping track of nurse shifts and security cameras before a window opened. Her exact medical documents were sitting in that room. A copy, anyways.

tumblr_ob03uiitYJ1r9pt1so7_r2_500.gif

Kevin had an appointment with Dr. Fletcher the next day. While it was risky going out in public, he knew the good doctor had his back. She was informed of the outbreak and upon his arrival, police were waiting. Dr. Fletcher explained that he had no idea what he was doing. It would be unfair to process him as criminal, it was his first outbreak of the kind. It was just a momentary relapse. Begrudgingly, the commanding officer called off the dogs and merely handed Kevin two restraining orders. The names read Rachael and John. Nothing about Jennifer was listed. It felt reassuring. The focus of the session was how it made Kevin feel to know Jennifer was living with the adoptive parents. She assured him that she was safe. Keeping up the façade, he claimed to learn his lesson and exhibited acknowledgement of his wrongdoing. By the end of the day, Kevin moved onto his next order of business: preparing for the kidnapping.

Dennis was a psychopath but Kevin also had another controlled psychopath. That meant he was less violent than Dennis. It was a middle-aged serial rapist and kidnapper named Charles. He specialized in using chloroform to bring his victims to an unconscious state. He knew how to tie the tightest knots and keep the women secured. He visited multiple hardware and grocery stores to find chemicals to mix for a variant of chloroform. With her breathing problems, he needed to avoid certain ingredients. This would be harmless to her if you do not count making her go unconscious as harmful. She would be in more danger of falling and hitting her head than the chemical causing a breathing problem.

Final preparations were finished and Kevin was prepared to kidnap Jennifer. Dennis was brought back into the light for kidnapping the blonde. It was now a matter of picking his spot carefully. The abduction must happen perfectly. Kevin could not be discovered kidnapping Jennifer or bringing her into his home. Kevin knew her schedule by heart and knew exactly when he could find her alone. Since she did not file for a restraining order, the male assumed she did not inform anyone about what he told her. She might not take any extra precaution in her schedule.

Late at night, Jennifer often attended a dancing class. One night after she entered inside, Kevin disconnected a few wires underneath the car. It was not going to start. In his own vehicle parked beside the corner without any security cameras, an electronic jammer was set to dislodge the girl's phone so she was unable to call for help when the car would not start. All he did was wait behind the wall, watching for the blonde to appear.

A couple of weeks had passed and things had simmered down. All the furniture that had been broken in the scene was replaced, a door installed. Her parents had only calmed down when the police stated they had direct contact with Kevin and he acknowledge the restraining orders and request, that he would cause no more problems. That didn’t mean her father wasn’t still trying to on the side see if he could get a transfer to another state. He was trying to surprise his family by seeing if he could move them to California or New York, some place new where they felt safer. They kept this away from Jennifer, not wanting to put her in distress, making her move from where she had been born and raised. Rachael was an occupational therapist so it would be easy for her to get another job in almost any hospital.

splitmovie-370x297.jpg

Jennifer had kept her thoughts to herself, lying multiple times to both her parents about the incident. She told them she was fine, that she barely knew him and they were all that mattered, them and all their safety. Inside of her mind, she thought about him constantly. Who he was, how he lived, what illnesses he had, what their mother had done to him, why he raped her. It petrified her but it also hit strings in her she didn’t know she had.

Until then, they resumed to their normal lives. By the third week Jennifer was back in classes and going to dance rehearsal. It was Thursday night, she had been in school most of the day, she changed and headed to the dance studio in town. Her rehearsal was a couple of hours; they were training for an upcoming competition. The rehearsal ended, a few of the girls followed Jennifer out, they were all cutting up, like young kids did. Jennifer rubbed her hands on her black leggings, she was in a turquoise henley pulled over a tank with white converse.

They parted ways as Jennifer had parked down the street. She waived, laughing at one of her friends as she kept going on about liking one of the guys in the class. She turned to start toward her car, pulling out her lanyard that had her keys. It was when a small cool crisp waive of autumn air came, blowing her hair everywhere that she stood there. Feeling different, energetic, overly excited, impulsive. She looked around, admiring the night of the city. Her eyes lit up, her hyperactivity made her take every little thing for more than another person would see it. She could take note of the city lights, the distant sound of cars and busses, she could feel the energy.

oh-no-you-didnti-love-youjennifer-lawrence.gif

Something else also felt intense, she couldn’t place it. Deep down her mind had detected something was about to happen, that something or someone important was near but it was so subconscious she thought nothing of it, blaming it on her hyperactivity and overthinking like her family always did. She unlocked her car and slid in shutting the door to her honda civic. She threw her duffle bag in the back seat and leaned back in the driver seat, taking a moment. Her adrenaline was racing and she couldn’t understand it. She tried to calm her breathing and looked at her fitbit, her heartrate was elevated, as much as it had been when she was dancing minutes ago.

200_s.gif

She leaned forward putting her key in the ignition and turning, but it wouldn’t start. It just clicked. She kept turning it over and over and looked confused, her battery couldn’t be dead. Her father made sure everything was in top condition. She gave up, and rubbed her head. She would have to call somebody to come give her a jump, or get it towed if it was something else. She grabbed her cell but noticed she had no service. She had just had service back in the studio and it was weird because she was outside in the city.

“The hell….” She breathed.

With undetectable footsteps, Kevin ( outfit) slowly approached Jennifer. A white cloth with plenty of the chloroform chemical had been sprayed moments before. From behind, he admired how gorgeous his daughter was. When they arrived home, he could take more time to admire the blonde. When the male reached the desired range, his right hand reached out and clamped the cloth over her nose and mouth. She was forced to inhale the chemicals. Even with the toughest of men, chloroform would knock them out in ten seconds. Jennifer would go to sleep easier. Right before her eyes closed, Kevin leaned his lips close to her ears much as he did weeks earlier.

“Daddy’s here. You’re going to be okay.”

tumblr_ohgv5pOKYc1uku5qio1_500.gif

That should be the last thing Jennifer heard before she fell lifeless in his arms. It sucked having to make her endure this but it was necessary. She would not join him in another way. Carrying her bridal style, the unconscious blonde was brought back to hid old, gray sedan. After popping the trunk, Kevin placed her face down into the back. After finding the rope he brought, Kevin tied her hands together behind of her back along with binding her ankles together.

This was the doing of “Charles”. He knew how to intricately tie up a woman. The prowess showed. The rope was tied tight with no possibility of the knot coming loose without outside help. After she was tied up nice and tight, Kevin slammed the trunk lid shut and slipped inside the driver’s seat. After taking a deep breath, he wiped his face and started driving forward. The ride from the dance studio to his place would take hardly any time. Within the hour, he was parking and ready to carry Jennifer inside. This amount of chloroform was specific and usually would keep the victim knocked out two to three hours.

From the car to his home, Kevin carried her over his shoulder. It felt like an instant relief once he hit the door of his home. Jennifer was finally safe after all these years. Everything felt right. The real Kevin had shown himself now because he wanted nothing more than to protect Jennifer and show her that he was the only person she needed.

rs-split-f0a299c5-db50-4c61-afdd-b7423a8ca912.jpg

Once he reached her room, he sat the woman down onto the bed face down so she would not have extra pressure on her tied hands. Would he untie her? Sure. First, he needed to make sure she was not going to do anything erratic. During the day, he might have to gag her. Nobody should be over this close but the rational beings inside of Kevin made him think. It became a waiting game. Jennifer had been kidnapped by her real father. The inner turmoil continued inside of his brain.

Of course, Dennis wanted to just take her right there on the spot or at least strip the clothes. Patricia banned Dennis from touching her. Hedwig wanted to stay in the room so they could play when she woke up. Charles wanted to wait and take her later. There was no fun in fucking an unconscious victim. Finally, the personality and reason of Spencer won out. Just go sit in his room and watch the TV monitors. When she woke up, he could decide what to do. Almost one dozen different combinations of locks were set on the door to her room. It took a few seconds but soon she was locked away and Kevin rested peacefully.

james-mcavoy-split-trailer.gif

When he reached the computer room, he pulled out the leather chair and sat down. It was almost like he could smell something different in the air. For the first time in a long time, the real Kevin smiled and relaxed. There was audio from these cameras and they were embedded inside the walls. She would never know anyone was watching her unless he told her or she found this room. Since he was tired, Kevin closed his eyes and tried to take a nap while waiting on his beautiful daughter to come around so he could determine his next plan of action.

Her body was lying face forward, her head turned to one side so she could properly breathe. Her eyes slowly opened, she felt like she was waking up from anesthesia. Her eyelids felt heavier than usual, her mouth was dry. She made movement with her tongue, trying to create saliva and scrunched her face together. That’s when she tried to move and noticed the restraints, on her wrists and ankles. Her tired drugged eyes jerked open. She exhaled as she tested the bounds and rolled back on her side, making faces as her mind started racing. She rolled onto her back, her back in an arch as she looked around the bedroom. She would have never guessed she was underground, other than there were no windows. Her memory was foggy, her eyes a little hazy. She cried out, it was almost like a pitiful hysterical laugh disguised as a cry. She weakly tried to break the restraints but it only made her skin raw, they were tight, unbreakable.

giphy.gif

Her heart rate was rapidly beating, she started panicking. It didn’t take her long before she shimmied off the bed, bad decision. She toppled in a mess on the thick padded carpet, it was just as padded, thick and smelled new. She noticed these small details, focusing on the carpet with tearful eyes until she surrendered as her airway was constricted. She started coughing. Then she remembered, her car wouldn’t start, her phone wouldn’t work. She was so distraught, about to get out of the car to try to get signal when her driver side door opened….it was him, it was him again. He was quick, so deadly quick as he pulled her out, behind, holding her as he held the soaked cloth to her mouth. Her big inhales put her out in seconds, but not before hearing his words. It was him, he did this, he had taken her, had kept his word. She kept coughing, sounding horrible as if she was sick with bronchitis. Snot was coming down her mouth, as mucus was now drooling out of her mouth. Her eyes fluttered, as she tried to stay conscious in her coughing fit, she was having an attack. She would need her inhaler soon, on top of a possible muscle relaxer.

giphy.gif

Her mind tried to rationalize the situation but she wasn’t stupid, she knew how unstable he was just from a few weeks ago. She hadn’t told ANYONE; she had brought this on herself. She cried out, choking. She didn’t say anything; she didn’t want anyone to know. She didn’t want to put criminal charges on him.

When Jennifer cried out, the piercing sound woke Kevin. A smile spread wide on his face for a brief moment. Why was the happiness short lived? It was because he saw what Jennifer did when she woke up. Instead of calling for her father or acting happy, she started crying! This truly pissed of the male watching from the monitors. He just saved her from the world, from those adoptive parents, and from any harm that could happen. She was crying. It was heartbreaking and Kevin was starting to fume. It was not until he heard the violent coughing when he realized she was having an asthma attack. All malice left the door and his fatherly instinct kicked in. Sporadically, he gathered her special asthma inhaler full of medicine and a couple pills of cyclobenzaprine.

With a bottle of water in hand, Kevin literally sprinted to her room and incessantly undid the locks from the door. Bursting inside, he knelt down onto the carpet beside of the blonde and pulled her onto her knees. He shoved the inhaler inside of her mouth and gave her one puff of the medicine. He waited for the girl to inhale completely before giving her the second puff.

After administering the medicine, Kevin tossed the red inhaler onto the bed. Opening his hand with the pills, he forced them inside of her mouth and pressed the bottle of water to her lips. After she had swallowed, he fed her another sip of the water to wet her lips and mouth. Standing back up, Kevin screwed the lid back on tight and placed the water and inhaler on a desk in the room.

Without saying a word, Kevin helped Jennifer back onto the bed.

“You do not have anything to worry about. I know what medicine you need and that was just a muscle relaxer.”

Her father spoke with a neutral tone, using the pad of his thumbs to wipe away her tears.

“Don’t cry Jennifer. You and I are finally reunited. I have dreamed of this day ever since that whore of our mother took you away from me.”

He cringed when he said this. Patricia never liked when Kevin or anyone talked bad about Kevin’s mother. She understood his distaste for the woman but hate was not moral. He muttered something to himself in a feminine voice and his head twitched before he recovered.

“How are you feeling right now? The effects of the chloroform should wear off soon. You should not feel groggy too much longer.”

Again, Kevin was speaking like this was meant to happen and that they already had an established relationship. His eyes looked into hers, searching for answers and her feelings.

Jennifer was struggling to get as much oxygen in her lungs that her constricted throat would allow, by the time Kevin dropped to her side. She was swiftly brought to her knee’s as he forced her to take puffs from an inhaler. She knew what it was and shakily let the medicine coat her throat, he gave her two doses before shoving pills in her mouth, tilting her head back, feeding her water to wash it down. He lifted her back onto the bed, this time her back lying correctly, he put pillows underneath to cushion her back and behind. She closed her eyes as more tears came, as his thumb tried to wipe them, but only more came.

“You do not have anything to worry about. I know what medicine you need and that was just a muscle relaxer.”

She was relieved she wasn’t dead, she had survived an attack as if she would have at home. He had somehow had her medication. She knew the muscle relaxer would sedate her soon, not entirely, just enough to let her lungs relax. She peered up at him with reddened eyes.

“Don’t cry Jennifer. You and I are finally reunited. I have dreamed of this day ever since that whore of our mother took you away from me.”

At his words, it only made more silent tears, he looked just like her. He had her eyes, her nose, her smile. It was so obvious it was heart wrenching. She noticed her socks and shoes had been taken off, but that was the last of her worries in the moment. He spoke of their mother and saw him cringe. She had so many questions, so many emotions were coursing through her body but all she could do was silently cry, as he body calmed. He mentioned using chloroform like something out of a horror movie, you couldn’t even get that over the counter or prescription, it was kind of banned.

giphy.gif

“You wanted to keep me?” Was the only words that came out in a pitiful weak voice, scratchy.

“Of course, I wanted to keep you. You are my daughter and my little sister. Not many people understand that kind of connection. We are special, Jennifer. The entire world abhors us because we are different. Everyone has been out to get you. John and Rachel would never protect you like I can. They do not understand you. They don’t even share your same blood. Do you really think they look at you so purely? They know our secret. I am the only person that won’t judge you. I understand. We are fighting this world together. It is the only way to survive. I tried so long to find you and we are finally reunited.”

Another personality named Henry showed himself. He was threatening to come to the light. He was the most paranoid of them all. If Henry showed up then all Kevin would talk about was the world being after them. Thankfully, Barry, the mediator of all the personalities, was able to squash down the transition.

Kevin reached forward with a gentle hand again. He caressed her face and noticed how soft it felt underneath his fingertips. She was his own flesh and blood. His mother did unspeakable things to him but the worse was disposing of their baby like garbage. As each tear fell, he wiped the salty liquid away with a fingertip or two. Soon, one hand started to stroke through her hair repeatedly.

As twisted the “average” person would find this, Kevin was at peace. Even though Jennifer was still tied up, he knew she wanted to be here. He saw the look in her eyes. She might not accept the situation at first but Kevin knew better. Father knew best.

“This is your new home and your new life. You are going to grow into an amazing young woman. Nobody can hurt you here. You will find peace.”

Split.jpg

A soft smile spread across his lips and he continued stroking through her hair. Kevin was set on calming her down and having a conversation with her. She needed to see the truth.

Jennifer wasn’t exactly sure why those words came out. What father wouldn’t want their daughter. Like Kevin or whoever he was now was saying, she wasn’t just his daughter. In a way, she was also his sibling, it was a fucked up intertwined incest nightmare. Maybe his mother was doing it realizing deep down inside she had created a monster and didn’t want her to go through the same. The money she had gotten from the adoption went into a savings for Kevin Wendell before not to long after, committing suicide. She had overdosed on heroine.

Over the years of her mind deteriorating and being overly compulsive she turned into a junkie. Kevin would have hidden scars from how brutal she was to him. Things like putting his hand on a hot stove burner, beating him so badly he bled and formed infections, making him drink house cleaners and being admitted to the hospital. Somehow overtime child services stuck their nose in, she would turn into a gospel mother, changing personalities until they left them alone. As Kevin got older, she would sexually abuse him.

Therefore, all the identities formed, to protect Kevin, to help him deal with what his mother made him endure. If she had tried to do anything to Jennifer, he probably would have killed her. She had disappeared days before going into labor, working with social workers and Jennifer’s adoptive parents who had paid for her to go to another state, to stay in another hospital, leaving Kevin out of the loop.

He kept stating how her adoptive parents couldn’t protect her like he could, didn’t truly understand her. His words were filled with so much paranoid irrational beliefs. She was amazed, in a mortified awe of his crazed obsession to be reunited and care for her. His hands continued to wipe her tears, until his hand gently combed through her hair. She was terrified but also relaxed at the same time, and not just by the medication but his touch. She swallowed spit, letting her breathing steady. Even though she was supposed to be alert as the chemical he used to knock her out detoxed out of her body by now, the muscle relaxers, with his touch and words somehow soothed her fragile broken state. She fell asleep, her head falling into his hand that combed her hair.

Different personalities competed but Hedwig was brought into the light. The attire was not fit for a nine-year-old boy so Hedwig went into his bedroom and changed into a white t-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a jacket that was half yellow and half blue. Once Hedwig had taken control, he entered inside the bedroom again. With such a young personality, he was not thinking about anything sexual. Instead, he was just wanting to be held and lay beside of somebody. Hedwig never was given the chance to have any close contact with another human.

Approaching Jennifer, he curiously looked at her body before deciding to untie her. It was tough for the child at first but he eventually untied the ropes from around her wrists and ankles. She had not waken up so he tossed the ropes onto the ground and crawled beside of her. One arm wrapped around her waist and the other reached underneath her back.

split_0.gif

His leg gently wrapped in between one of hers as he closed his eyes and nestled his head against her shoulder. Hedwig had never felt so happy. Being a child and forgetful of things, he closed the door but had forgotten to lock it. The key was inside his pocket but it was useless without the door being closed. He was just so happy to have found a companion that nothing else mattered.

Hedwig wanted to protect her from the bad men that existed. They did not want her for anything good. They would hurt her and do things that made Hedwig blush. That allowed him to hold her protectively, seeking protection from her as well. He hummed quietly to himself a tune that made him happy and he was smiling as he closed his eyes. It took hardly any time before Hedwig closed his eyes and fell asleep. The smile remained on his face while relaxing against the blonde’s body and just rested his eyes while sleeping on top of her body.

The girl had slept soundly. Her mind had been pushed to emotional points it never had been in her two decades of living. The muscle relaxer had eased her stiffness and allowed her muscles, especially her throat to expand, allowing her to breathe normally. She would sleep straight through her father’s reappearance, only slightly moving as Hedwig struggled to untie the ropes. The skin around her ankles was slightly red and puffy but no sign of any other damage, her wrist had taken some bruising and had some scabs. Nothing that wouldn’t heal in a few days. As Hedwig climbed into her queen bed, he tangled himself in her warmth under the thick duvets. The bed had been purchased new, he had used some of his savings to buy her a new bedroom set. He also had invested in super comfortable mattresses, like laying on feathers, even with memory foam.

He also remodeled the small kitchen and lounge area. She hadn’t taken the time to notice but he had made this place, remodeled it and fortified it for her. He didn’t want her living in a murky dungeon. Most of the remodeling and designing had been done by the more fashionable Barry. He knew exactly what Jennifer would like. He had studied her.

To get into detail’s the room was medium sized, there was a small bathroom connected [ no window]. Thick padded carpet had been put down, dry wall and new paint. Her furniture, he had let Barry go on a shopping spree buying her clothing, lotions and other products even as far as cute little nick knack’s and stuffed animals. It may have been a little overly girly but only the best for his little one.

A flat screen had been placed on the wall, it had Netflix and Hulu installed. She had an iPad that had been reprogrammed by Spencer, so she could access iTunes, Kindle and other gaming apps but she couldn’t download any applications without his password or surf the internet. That she could buy music, movies and books. He had thought every little detail out. That’s not to say further down the road he wouldn’t give her more access, once he knew she was loyal.

As Hedwig cuddled and fell asleep, the both would sleep better than they had in a long time, especially Kevin. For him it would almost be nurturing. According to the clock on her wall, it was almost eleven in the morning. There were no windows anywhere down in the service area. Jennifer was super comfortable and had even in her sleep pulled closer to Kevin. His breathing and warmth and soft breath was like a security blanket. She stirred and opened her eyes, seeing him asleep. She didn’t jerk, she didn’t flinch. Her mind was tired but alert enough to process everything that had happened. She felt she wasn’t restrained anymore.

house-at-the-end-of-the-street-slice.jpg

She took the time to wake up, not moving, only for the first time getting intimate contact with her real father. During their sleeping, he had moved up slightly, to sleep on a pillow, right next to her head. It was kind of cute to see how tangled they was. She had the idea he didn’t get good sleep. He was bald, but still looked very peaceful, attractive. She could notice distinct features they both had, his lips, his nose, the jawline, same as hers.

For the greatest part of Kevin’s life, the male struggled to sleep well. It derived from unspeakable trauma his mother put him through. Night terrors and nightmares plagued most nights. As he grew older and his personalities developed for protection, Kevin found everyone active while he tried to sleep. Sometimes he could hardly stand the activity and Kevin’s physical body never rested. Probably for the first time in his entire life, Kevin not only slept through the entire night but he slept peacefully. Before when he slept all night, he would wake up and feel exhausted. His body was asleep but his mind was racing. Not tonight.

It was almost noon when Kevin woke from his slumber. Jennifer would have been awake for nearly an hour. As Kevin’s eyes opened wide, he shifted slightly against the body beside of him. He never realized how comfortable this bed actually was. Barry did an excellent job designing this place. Barry did especially well with the comfort of the bed. It was so soft and conformed perfectly to the body placed upon it. Next, Hedwig pouted and groaned as his arm underneath her body was going to sleep. He pulled it back and muttered an “Ow…” in a very child-like mannerism and tone.

Looking down at the blonde, he realized that she was actually awake. With the sliest, cutest of grins, Hedwig placed his chin onto her closest shoulder and continued cheesing.

“Hi…”

His voice was softer and more high-pitched than before. Almost immediately after saying these words, he burst out into a childish fit of giggles and rolled around slightly to remove his arms from her completely.

“I heard so much about you. You are pretty… They were right.”

Again, he giggled just like a child might after complimenting someone. He felt shy around her in a way, curious too. He knew how important this woman was to Kevin and everyone took a different kind of interest in her.

“We both got sleep… now we can play!”

With almost bouncing excitement, Hedwig hopped off the bed and went to recover one of the pink teddy bears. Pouting, he looked at all they toys.

“Aww… Barry only got toys for you. These are all girls stuff!”

Not wanting to let that hamper his good spirits, he brought one of the bears over to the bed and placed it into her abdomen for her to hold.

“Do you know what his name is going to be?” He asked sweetly and sat onto the bed beside of Jennifer with criss-cross legs. Even without any of his own toys and in a room filled with pink, Kevin related to her. She is the closest to his age that anyone has been. Though she was not nine, he could not make that connection yet. He just tried to talk to her like he would want to be spoken to. That was the best a young boy could do anyways. All of his actions have shown that his mind was not even close to maturing. It was starkly different from anything before.

“He can help protect you… sometimes Dennis can be mean. He just likes you though, he doesn’t mean anything bad.”

Hedwig was in that stage of seeing everyone as inherently good. He knew Dennis was mean but he hoped Dennis wouldn’t hurt her. He liked Jennifer so far.

Jennifer watched him sleep for what felt like ever but it didn’t bother her. As he woke up, she stayed still. He shifted, pressing into her, he groaned out from his hand underneath her falling asleep. He propped his chin on her shoulder, peeking up at her giving the cheesiest childlike grin.

“Hi….” She breathed back, she noticed a drastic change, in his energy, body posture, his facial expression. He started giggling which made her look at him curiously but with a faint, a very faint smile.

“I heard so much about you. You are pretty… They were right.”

His words were innocent, though she had gotten her answer immediately, he had said THEY. She knew he must be referring to other personalities and it made sense. Her parents never told her what disorder he had, he had multiple personalities. She was fascinated and completely taken away. She had remembered learning about the disorder in a chapter in college but hearing a lecture was nothing like experiencing this. She watched him climbed off the bed, she noticed he had changed, being in his yellow running suit, but was in socks. It was a little deranged to see a grown man acting this way. She propped up on one elbow as he pouted about the toys. He grabbed a teddy bear and took it over, placing it on her stomach.

“Do you know what his name is going to be? “

Jennifer sat up pushing off some off the thick covers and crossed her own legs holding the bear. She gently smiled, somehow distracted by the fact she was a victim of kidnapping. Compared to some of the most horrible kidnappings, she was lucky as hell, treated like a princess. “What should I name him….why don’t you help think of a name?” She said giving him a big smile. She looked a little concered with his next set of words. He had spoken of Dennis and somehow she had a feeling she had came across him a few times. Jennifer squeezed the bear looking at him.

pKUgIbp.gif

“Will Dennis be mean to me? You think if I show him the bear if I’m scared….he will be nice?” Jennifer asked, getting on his level. She patted the spot beside her on the bed and watched him crawl up, looking proud she invited him up to sit beside her.

“Hmm… I don’t know. I never named any toys before. I never had any.”

Hedwig looked sad. His childhood was miserable. At least, his childhood up to this point. He never had the chance to play with others or have any toys so he was absolutely unsure what to do. When the blonde invited him back onto the bed, he happily accepted the offer and continued to grin widely. He jumped onto the bed and bounced a couple times on his bottom when he landed. His eyes flickered back from the bear to her eyes and he swallowed nervously.

“Dennis… doesn’t like when people talk about him.” He admitted with a shy smile but his new friend was able to coax him to tell her things just by being there for him so he continued.

NExi9g8A8TWwAD_1_b.jpg

“But… you’re not going to like him. He wants you. He means good. He doesn’t want to hurt you. He just thinks you’re really pretty and he wants to… do things… I’m not supposed to know about it he said. I’m too young but I think I know what he is talking about.”

Hedwig visibly and visibly blushed. A young child would find sex disgusting and he did that exactly. He kind of knew what Dennis wanted to do and nothing sounded pleasant. He heard that he wanted to tie her up while he did things to her and that was when Hedwig tried to find his happy place and stop listening.

“Patricia normally keeps him well-behaved. I’m the only one she allowed to be around you right now. Everyone wants to meet you. I just got lucky, I guess.”

Kevin shrugged his shoulders and eventually relaxed against Jennifer. Showing the bear to Dennis was not going to help her. He just thought like all kids did. Their favorite stuffed animal would protect them from the monsters under the bed. However, nothing could protect her from Dennis if he got loose. Hedwig did not want to be around when that happened.

“I’m Hedwig, by the way. I already know your name. Kevin talks about you all the time. Everyone helped to find you.” He spoke, showing that each personality really had a specific duty that led to this. That was how they were helping and protecting Kevin now that his mother was no longer a threat.

He climbed on the bed and bounced a little making Jennifer stifle a laugh. It was almost hard not laugh at such a comical weird situation. It was when he mentioned never having any toys and then spoke of Dennis she felt uneasy. That Dennis didn’t like it when people talked about him, that she wasn’t going to like him. There this sort of innocent mischievous tone to his voice when he said it, then he said HE wanted her. But he tried to reassure her that he didn’t want to harm her, that he just wanted to do things. She looked a little lost but nodded her head. She noticed he blushed and shied his eyes away from her. Then he spoke of Patricia, she assumed that was another personality. Hedwig relaxed, leaning into her. He introduced himself, and mentioned the others how everyone helped to find her. It was a lot to take in and this was the only beginning.

He won’t hurt you, he won’t hurt you, he admitted himself, kind of. He’s just attracted. He’s not well, he was mentally traumatized. He didn’t raise you. This is all logical. He WON’T hurt you.

4fc90af4-98cf-4d41-a756-d56e8bdd00d2_zpsebrqkqsp.jpg

Jennifer had to coach herself, trying not to worry. She kept nodding to herself and then focused back on Hedwig. She was starting to get a big picture of how fucked up their mother had been, how she had caused all of this. That if she was normal, perhaps she wouldn’t have been conceived from their mother and some other woman where he was normal and happy. Still, even though she had anxiety about Dennis and some of the other unknown identities, she still wasn’t reacting rationally. Other females would have been a mess, trying to escape.

“Well Hedwig it’s nice to meet you. I like you.” She said leaned into him, acting almost a little immature herself.

“I know there not boy toys but your welcome to play with any of my toys.” She said holding the teddy bear. Hedwig seemed a little interested in her fitbit. She showed her wrist, rolling up her long sleeve Henley a little. It had a small screen on it.

“It a fancy monitor type thingy. I have issues with my heart and breathing. If I get too excited, this lets me know. I get excited and it makes it hard to breathe. But like I’m different because…I get excited, sometimes for no reason.” She said shrugging, smiling at him.

The fitbit was important to Jennifer. Hedwig made a mental note. Though he was young, he knew breathing was important and knew about some breathing problems. If Jennifer got too excited, then she would have problems. Nobody wanted that to happen. Carefully, Hedwig used his index finger to poke the band wrapping around her wrist. Since it was important, he treated the item carefully and fragilely. The last thing he wanted to do was break something else. Even if he did not comprehend the details, he generally knew this was something that Jennifer needed to be safe. He could not damage it.

Hedwig had never seen a woman without any clothes. His eyes traveled into Jennifer’s and he shifted uncomfortable. Even children knew what beauty looked like. Jennifer was gorgeous. The innocent mind started wandering into darker places. His hips shifted uncomfortably against her thigh and Hedwig did not know what was happening to his body. His first semblance of sexual arousal was starting to occur. It was the first time for Hedwig anyways. Kevin was clearly experienced and had been with women before. They just never did the trick like he thought Jennifer would do for him. He wanted her to be his in every possible way.

tumblr_ob03uiitYJ1r9pt1so7_r2_500.gif

“I… I think I have to go now. We can play later.” Hedwig offered a gentle smile across his lips and continued to stare deeply into the woman’s eyes. He gave her a little, cute hug and finally removed their bodies from tangling. Within minutes, Hedwig exited the bed and walked across the room to the door and left the room. He closed it and locked the door like he was supposed to. Hedwig was starting to panic and it caused Patricia to take over. Hedwig was having a tough time and nobody was thinking about the girl’s needs right now.

She must be hungry. After changing into a black skirt with a red top with knee-high white socks and black heels, Patricia was ready to start cooking a meal. Ranch chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed green beans were prepared along with a glass of water. Patricia brought it to the room, unlocked the door and sat the plate of food on the table inside the room.

“I have to apologize for Hedwig earlier. I am sure he caused a ruckus. Everyone is just so excited to see you but I know you must be starving. I fixed your favorite.”

Patricia spoke In an acutely feminine voiceas her motions were somewhat feminine as well. “Can I get you anything else?” She asked casually while standing at the door, looking deep into Jennifer’s eyes.

Hedwig was silent, poking her fitbit and then just sitting there. He started moving his bottom around, fidgeting while leaning into her. Kind of like a small child being impatient or having to go to the bathroom. She didn’t realize it was arousal and that in this identity he had never experienced it. She was soon to understand her father wasn’t just attracted but infatuated with her. She could gather that from how Hedwig spoke about her and the others. He was quick to retreat and gave her a half hug, she wasn’t even able to hug him back before he darted across the room leaving her speechless. She could hear him locking several locks and that made her stomach sink. She had no idea what was in store for her. She was so intrigued by her own father and his disorder that she didn’t think about being a prisoner, not until she heard the locks. She frowned and just sat there, stretching out her legs. She rubbed the areas of her ankles where it was a little red from the ropes which were still on the floor in two piles.

HouseAtTheEndOfTheStreet1-620x257.jpg

While she was left alone, she got off the bed exploring the room. She looked at all the trinkets, the net of stuffed animals, the shelf of various lotions and perfumes, some were expensive. She looked in a small closet to see clothes, her exact size. Which lead her to the bathroom, it was also small, but cutely decorated with pink and floral. She relieved herself, she hadn’t gone to the bathroom since last night. She thought about taking a shower but decided against it when she noticed a tablet at her desk. She turned it on, thinking she might be able to download something but the internet browser was turned off and she couldn’t download any applications. She was starting to understand how planned this reunion was.

She was sitting at the desk when the door opened, to the same man that was her father but he was dressed in a red turtleneck, a long skirt and high heels. She kind of just stared at him dumbfound. He walked perfectly on the heels setting down the tray of food and ice water. It smelled good. She looked up at the women as she asked if she needed anything else. She shook her head and started digging in the food. Patricia was being pleased she was enjoying her first meal here, she would offer seconds if the girl finished her plate. There was plenty.

Patricia remained silent at first. Judging by how quickly Jennifer dug into the meal, she had likely not eaten since late yesterday. Jennifer was nearly halfway finished when Patricia realized she would probably eat the entire plate and more.

“You can eat everything you want. I will fix you seconds just in case.”

Even if she did not consume all the food Patricia fixed, she had no issue throwing out the extra food or eating it herself or saving it for later for someone else. She expertly strutted out the doorway and locked the latches again. There were nearly one dozen latches and they all pointed differently and were mechanically different. It would take the world’s greatest lockpicker to ever undo the door. Well, that or an explosive device would do the trick. It was unlikely that Jennifer had access to either.

Since Patricia cooked a smaller portion for one individual, the food was finished quickly. After another hot, steaming plate was served, she returned into Jennifer’s room with another plate and another glass of water. It was important to keep her hydrated. If she had any medicine she took routinely then Patricia gathered the bottle and poured out the correct number of tablets. To ensure the time was accurately tracked, she wrote down the time she would take the medication and mark down when she needed it again.

split-james-mcavoy-2.jpg

Though every personality was different, they all held one core value: keeping Jennifer safe. Everyone would remember to feed her, nurture her, and give her access to pills. Everyone was also smart enough to keep the pills out of her room. If something tragic happened and she attempted to overdose, there would be no saving her.

Returning to the door, Patricia took her time and unlocked each latch. Once inside, she placed the second place of food down right in front of the blonde. The empty plate was brought closer to the door and sat to be picked up at a later time. Professionally and sternly, she stood in the doorway and crossed her arms after offering the second plate of food.

“I will do my best to mediate everyone. I will make sure nobody hurts you. You are going to like it here. Kevin has been excited to have you home. Everyone is. Feel welcome here. You might be confined to this room now but when we can trust you, a new world will open to you. Just be a good girl and everything will be alright.”

Nobody wanted to hurt her anyways. They would not allow her to roam freely though. If she escaped then horrible things might happen.

Jennifer had finished the first plate of food within minutes, chugging down the glass of purified ice water. She noticed it wasn’t tap water and wondered oddly if the ice cubes were even purified. The women said she would fix her seconds and after taking her empty plate and glass she left the girl alone. Jennifer sat there, wide eyed, counting the latches. There were literally twelve fucking locks on the outside of her door. She used her tongue to get pieces of green bean out of her back teethe and sat here.

Normal rational thoughts started to slowly claw at the forefront. Would she see her adoptive parents again? Would she get to finish school, see her friends? Would she ever be allowed above ground. Was she already forming Stockholm syndrome to her own father and his personalities. Would she be able to gain his trust to have some freedom? These thoughts made her slouch over the desk, holding her head.

Winter-s-Bone-Stills-and-Gifs-winters-bone-29986086-500-281.png

She heard the locks being unlatched and looked up to see Patricia re-entered with another hot plate of food, another glass of ice water and the usual medication she took. She had forgotten about her medication but he hadn’t. The woman crossed her eyes, telling Jennifer she had nothing to worry about, that everyone was delighted she was home and safe and that in time if she behaved, a whole new world would be exposed. Jennifer nodded, showing she understood. The woman winked, giving a weird sassy grin before leaving her to eat in peace.

Jennifer started eating the second plate of food, this time a little slower, savoring how juicy the chicken was, the vegetables had so much flavor. She popped the pills in her mouth downing it with the ice water. So far half an hour had passed and no one had returned. She finished half the plate of food. Jennifer got up, as a way of battling her own paranoid thoughts she rooted through her clothes. A lot of them were brand new with the tag. She picked an outfit to sleep in, solid sleep shorts with another light gray long sleeve shirt. Stepping into her bathroom she closed the door, there was a simple doorknob lock and she turned it, as if that gave her some feeling of privacy. She stripped, throwing her dirty clothes in a pile and took the quickest shower, the water was very hot. She used the floral hygiene products Barry had ordered for her. There were notes of rose petals and orchids. She shampooed and conditioned her hair and dried off changing into her clothes over her underwear and bra. Everything fit so perfectly she wondered how he knew her measurements and sizes.

She thought someone might be waiting for her in the bedroom and opened the door to find her room empty. She saw Patricia must have been in while she was showering, because her plate was taken and dessert had been wrapped and left. Her bed and been perfectly made, her pillows fluffed. The rope on the floor had been picked up and discarded. There was a little posted beside the dessert that told her to sleep well, she was safe and to enjoy the unicorn bars. Jennifer was eating the dessert, when she noticed of all things, an iPod. Somehow it was brand new but connected to her iTunes, well to be exact a new account had been made but all her music transferred and all her playlist. She was amazed at every little damn detail of all of this. It was overwhelming.

Jennifer pulled the covers back and climbed in the bed, leaving the bathroom door open as it shined a warm glow into the bedroom as she turned off the lights. Her medicine was make her a little tired, just a little. She laid in bed putting in the earbuds. She clicked one of her electro gothic playlist and figured the loud music would entertain her wild hyper mind into exhaustion. She closed her eyes, turning the volume up so loud it could have been harmful but she also did that at home often. The words made her think of him.

I don't dream much anymore,
'cos sleep don't come easy for,
A fool who's failed at everything,
There's no way that I'm making it through,
I don't feel myself at all, As you rise I slowly fall,
So I choke and I ache,

Nobody liked to be watched while they ate. Patricia understood and exited the room without an issue. She waited and watched the monitor inside of her room. She finished and headed for the bathroom. For privacy, Barry did not install any cameras inside the bathroom. Though a couple of the personalities might have gotten off on that, he would not allow such a thing. They could not invade that much of her personal space. After the blonde disappeared into the bathroom, Patricia found his way back inside of the young woman’s room. The place was somewhat of a mess because of Hedwig.

She retrieved the plate and sat all empty dishes and cooking pots in the sink. Next, she returned inside and made up the bed and cleared off all the ropes. Everything looked spick and span. It was spotless and looked just like the room did before Jennifer arrived. Once again, Patricia exited the room and brought back some dessert. It was on a disposable plate she could throw away in the trash can in her room in the corner. That ended Kevin’s interference today. Patricia locked the door again and washed all the dishes. When they were washed, she dried them and packed everything away.

Kevin was back in control now. It was getting late and he was tired. He undressed and showered inside his own bathroom. It was smaller and not as magnificent as his daughter’s. A good father does not care if he lived without luxuries. His child would have the best luxuries and chances possible. Kevin was going to make sure of that. Her room was full of the most up to date technology. She might not have access to everything she would need but it was impossible for her to get bored. She was surrounded by the latest advances in technology.

After showering, Kevin dressed himself in a pair of boxers and pajama pants before readying for bed. He took care of himself and performed the proper hygiene to upkeep his body. Before he went to sleep, he looked in on his daughter’s room one more time. She was relaxing or sleeping, he was not sure. She had the iPod plugged in and was jamming into her music. He could even hear it briefly through the audio of the cameras. He would have to warn her about that later. She did not need to damage her ears.

After some time passed, Kevin felt comfortable enough. Jennifer was doing fine and assimilating well. He was ready for bed. His bedroom was also smaller than his daughter’s. It was more bland and not decorated at all. He crawled underneath the covers and pulled it tight around his neck and tried to sleep. It would not come to him as easily as the sleep with Jennifer did when Hedwig had taken over earlier during the day. Tonight was like normal for Kevin. It was restless and he tossed and turn with a restless mind. It was uncomfortable.

Despite this, he was incredibly happy. After a long time, he was reunited with Jennifer. Tomorrow would bring new opportunities and they could further their relationship together. His mind was heavy with thoughts other than the usual. He no longer had to only dream about being with Jennifer. She was truly here. She was okay. She was safe. This could not have gone any better. Kevin wanted to make sure she was happy and had done a great job so far. Tomorrow would only continue to deepen that bond.

Back at her old house, her adoptive parents were going crazy. They wanted to file a missing persons report because it was unlike her to be gone so long. Plus, her car was found abandoned but the wires that were cut could not be deciphered to have happened with mal intent. The only thing anybody knew was that the car was broken down and it had not been 48 hours yet so nothing could be done as they just hopelessly waited for Jennifer to return home. They called her and could not reach her. The phone would be unable to traced but they already had an idea of what happened.

Jennifer fell asleep to her music, the playlist played through several songs before comming to a silence. She had only been awake a few hours or more earlier after she had taken up to meet Hedwig, the clock said it was only 1 PM. She knew it was the weekend but figured at some point he would return to work. What would he do if people started interrogating him, wanting to come down here? Did he have this place set up so they didn’t see all of this? That was exactly the truth. The service area underneath the zoo was like a whole other level, Kevin had over the years built on, turning other parts into where he would live with Jen.

If someone came down to check on him, his first living area would look livable, shabby and occupied. It was connected to this part of the layout, but hidden. So far they still had over a day before her parents could file a police report. Jennifer was going to try to reason with him, so some sort of contact could be made to them to prevent them from doing such a thing. Even though she was partially a victim of abduction, she didn’t any criminal charges put on Kevin. He had what he wanted and she was going to just deal with it.

By the time she had woke back up, it was seven PM at night, it was hard to tell what time of day it was down here, it always felt like the night with no windows. She pulled out her earbuds, she rolled onto her side and thought about just trying to sleep more. Did her sleeping schedule matter down here right now? She was a little hungry again but she had eaten all the sweet dessert and drank all the water. She wondered if she would ever be allowed to have access to feely explore wherever it was he lived. In time, she would be permitted, but certain areas would be blocked off but she would be able to leave and enter her room to the kitchen, lounge area and his bedroom. She wouldn’t have access to the security room unless he let her in. That all depended on her behavior. Having access to the kitchen would be nice, she was a fat kid deep inside and with her energy she had a big appetite, her body digested sugar quicker.

She decided to just be lazy and bury herself under the thick covers, they smelled cleaned like fabric softener and it was comforting. She randomly thought of waking up to him here, Hedwig. How she felt calm, at peace, she felt more anxiety when he wasn’t around as if then anything could happen to her.

Undoubtedly, Jennifer was here to stay. Everyone would have to get used to her being here. Nobody struggled more than Dennis did. As the most violent personality, it was difficult for the male to stay contained. No matter how many times someone scolded him, his thoughts remained the same. Dennis concluded there was only one way to ease these feelings he had. Dennis must approach Jennifer, talk to her, and control himself. If he came into close contact with her and eased his urges, everything would start falling into place. He would be brought to the light more often. He was always hidden because of his behavioral issues.

As a janitor for the zoo, he would have to work tomorrow and clean the area in preparation for the new week. Tonight, Kevin was going to relax and spend time with his beloved daughter. To avoid suspicion, he had to keep up the act. It would give him something pleasurable to think about during the day at work to get him through. It would instill a new happiness in his life. It filled a void that was missing and has been missing for almost two decades. Nonetheless, it was time for Dennis to face his deepest threat.

Standing in front of his wardrobe, Dennis pulled his pajama pants down. The same outfit he wore when he abducted Jennifer was recovered on his body. Dress pants and a button-up t-shirt with his glasses. After double checking his look in the mirror, Dennis took a deep breath. Patricia’s words about not being a pig fumbled through his head a few times before he slipped on his socks and shoes. It was time to visit the blonde and talk to her, get to know her. She was going to be safe around him. Dennis knew he had a bad reputation.

Approaching the door, he slowly undid all the locks. Because of his OCD, he would keep the pin straight until reaching the end of the slot, allowing it to drop down. His hand twisted the door open and entered her room. Not even looking at her yet, Dennis shut the door and reapplied the locks from the inside. It might function slightly different from locking the outside door but the locks served the same purpose. Jennifer was trapped inside this room with Dennis and it was up to Dennis to control himself and not hurt Jennifer. He knew how much it meant to Kevin.

His chest heaved up and down. His breathing rate increased while turning around to face Jennifer. Fidgeting, his fingers pushed his glasses onto the bridge of his nose twice, never satisfied with the location.

“Hello… I-I’m Dennis…”

He was not nervous talking to her. It was just difficult to not think those dirty thoughts about the woman. He tried to think clean but she was just so gorgeous and scantily clad. That was not helping.

Jennifer had zoned out, staring at the darkened ceiling. Her eyes every now and then would fall over the cute night lamp on her nightstand. She almost felt like Sarah from the labyrinth. There was a part of the movie where she couldn’t make out if it was a dream or not and she was in this perfect little girl’s room with this old goblin lady piling her with toys and stuffed animals. She had to break free, to reality to go back to finding toby, her little brother. In a way Kevin was like the gobbling king, he was obsessed with Sarah. His words to her was almost close to words Kevin had said to her. Jareth had said “Everything I've done, I've done for you. I move the stars for no one.” Jennifer felt like she was in the fairy tale world.

She heard locks unlatching and sat up, staring at the door. Her father re-appeared but he was once again different from the little boy personality Hedwig and the older women Patricia, this must have been Dennis as he had glasses and his facial features were more sharp and focused. He entered, shutting the door not facing her. She could notice his heavy breathing. Hedwig had said he meant no harm, that he just had bad thoughts, wanted to do things to her. Jennifer kept silent, sitting cross legged, most of her bare legs visible. He looked up, adjusting his glasses twice introducing himself.

“Hello… I-I’m Dennis…”

Jennifer gulped but nodded giving a faint smile. “Hi…I know you know who I am.” She didn’t know what to do. She decided to lean forward crawled toward the edge of the bed to reach her hand out, bad idea as he she was on all fours on the bed, he would get a good glimpse of her breast. Well not her breast but her sports bra and tank top underneath the unbuttoned Henley. Jennifer wouldn’t think of this. Dennis would get wide eyed looking angry and stepped back.

“Can you please sit up please and cover yourself.” He said in a demanding tone. She looked lost, almost hurt and embarrassed and sat up and noticed her shirt and gulped again. She pulled the covers up, all the way up, holding them like a wrap around her body.

“I can put on some more clothes….”

“That’s not necessary.” His tone was flat. Jennifer slouched holding the covers tighter around her small petite body.

“I’ll be right back.” He said and quickly departed, slamming the door making her flinch. He started locking the latches leaving the girl lost, almost tearful. She threw the covers off and darted off the bed opening the closet, searching till she found baggie sweat pants. She tore the tag off and pulled the sweats over her shorts and underwear. A little bit of her shorts was showing but not much. She searched the closet and ripped a sweatshirt off and pulled it over her Henley. It was good timing as the locks were not being unlocked. She spun facing he door as it opened. Dennis was there but now holding bags, gift bags and flower bouquet. Dennis, saw she had changed and he breathed out seeming angry but more at himself.

“Thank you but that wasn’t necessary…. you shouldn’t have to hide yourself around me. I won’t hurt you. I promise you my word. I uhh…. I got these for you.” He said putting down the bags and beautiful flowers. He sat them on the bed and then stepped away making distance. Jennifer walked to the bed picking up the flowers, they smelled wonderful, like a flower garden. They must have costed a good fortune. She held the flowers while standing and pulling out tissue paper from the gift bag. She pulled out a stuffed olaf from the frozen movie, and then also pulled out a tinkerbell hoodie. She loved Disney and somehow he had picked that up too.

“Thank…Th-thank you.” She said with glossy eyes, emotional. She sat on the bed holding all her things, feeling like Sarah. In this case, she didn’t hate the goblin king, she was a part of him. Dennis rubbed his head seeming anxious.

“I know you like Disney, Barry had found out and helped me. I know it’s not much. I know for a long time we must keep you safe, but down the road…when everyone forgets you. We can go to Disney World together.” He said. Jennifer looked at him, silent tears streaming down her cheeks.

“D-D-Denis…you have less than 24 hours before they file a report. You know this. If you make contact, if you let me make contact. I’m eighteen…they can’t turn it in if I tell them I am ok.” She said, putting down everything but the olaf plush. She stood as Dennis backed up.

“An e-mail….you know my email….let me write an email. Even if they still think its kidnapping if we show proof I ran away, they can’t file charges……pl-please.” She begged.
