Cassidy awoke with a stir. The time was fast approaching for her marriage to Garth Nox. She sighed softly. This wasn't what she wanted not at all. She looked out at the night sky and a tear rolled down her cheek. It didn't need to be her. The other kingdom could let their daughter be forced into this. She had her life mate picked out.

Her brother Cashus was the only man that would ever stick by her side. Or believed that she wasn't weak. He knew all of her strengths and all of her weaknesses. She blushed a bit thinking of the first time that anything had happened between them. They were in the hot springs. She'd been soaking and trying to relax from the day and suddenly Cashus came from almost no where. His body was alluring and she blushed not being able to take her eyes off of him.

Cassidy blushed some and got out of bed she had been avoiding telling him because she knew he'd be royally pissed about this. And the marriage was in a week...

Cashus was in the courtyard he wiped his forehead having disemboweled a rather menacing scarecrow. His eyes darted to his sisters balcony then back. His face reddened when he recalled his boldness at the hot-springs. He was a brother but he was also a man, a man with needs.

His sister had come to visit telling him only it was most urgent to speak with him. He smiled whatever may come he would have these moments with her. Fearing the worst, her death, he began psyche himself up.

"Cassidy you should come more ofer, i was beginning to think you forgot about me" he kissed her on the right then left cheek his arms wrapped around her back. He wished he could kiss her lips and never let her go.

Cassidy blushed kissing him back. "I have something to tell you. It's not really good news." She said softly and pulled away some. "Maybe we should go somewhere more private for this." She suggested attempting to tug him back towards the entrance to their castle.

He stumbled forward letting her lead the way the front hall led into a small room used by the doorman. "Calm down can it really be so bad" He spoke sliding a lock of hair out of her face and staring deeply into her eyed.

"Now slowly tell me what you came here for" he asked putting on one of his trademark smiles. For many years he watched out for her a full time job for an older brother, if only by a minute.

They were alone so he sat down in a chair and had her sit across from him, she looked radiant. Placing his hands on his knees he sat straight uncomfortably so.

She looked down for a long time. She wasn't sure how to bring it up. All she knew is that she needed too. "I guess the best way to do this is being straight forward." She said with a sigh.
"I'm supposed to marry Garth Nox next week." She said softly and hid her face behind her hair as she looked down.

The only way to describe him was like a landed trout mouth flapping up and down. "You can't, she can't make" his words became less and less understandable.

His eyes focused on her rage flashing for an instant sorrow acceptance and back and forth as a war ragged inside. grasping her hands he leaned in close enough to smell her perfume more easily "What do you want cassidy" asked her brother slowly but strongly enough to tell her to answer truthfully.

The redhead looked down at their hands. She didn't want to say anything she knew this was tearing him up inside. "Cashus you know that it doesn't matter. If I don't marry Garth than they won't make the truce between our families." She said softly. Unlike what most thought about her. Cassidy really did care about her nation and what would happen. Just wished that someone else could end the war.

"There has to be another way" he held her hands his heart thumping in his chest. He wished more then anything to simply lean forward and press his lips to hers. Instead he leaned forward embracing her in his "If there is not then we must make a way" he crooned laying his head on her shoulder as he did when they were children.

Cassidy gently rubbed her cheek against his. She wasn't really sure what would work to get her out of this. This is what the council had decided nearly a century ago. She gently pet his head. "It's up to the council. I don't think I should fight it. I want to because I want to stay with you but I don't because I'm tired of this war." She said softly.

"If we can, no, maybe" he closed his eyes drinking in the moment one that may never come again. They were wrong kill the head and the body grow another one to replace it. leaning forward he whispered into her ear. "The only thing i know is i want to give all my love for you, the love i have held onto for far too long" Placing his hand under her chin he raised her lips to his and kissed her.

Cass closed her eyes, taking in his scent as he spoke. A faint blush found her cheeks as he lifted her chin and kissed her. "I know Cashus. I just don't know what to do." She said softly and let her forehead fall to his lips. "Can we go somewhere just to be alone?" She asked him quietly.

He nodded guiding her to one of the guest chambers where they would not be disturbed. Whirling her around he placed his hands on her shoulder his lips inches from hers. "Are you sure" he asked not knowing what he would do now, how he would get the pounding in his ears to stop. slowly he leaned forward "I have always loved you"

She smiled and nearly threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly. "I just want to be alone with you." She said softly. She didn't want to go off with Garth. The brute had alot to learn about his nation and didn't seem to care about it or anything else. She kissed his neck softly letting a fang run across it.

he held onto her like a life persevere his hands sliding over her back his long finger tails leaving light discolorations in her skin "I feel the same way" he smiled between vampires sharing blood was a rare occurrence. his hands moved to her stomach as he kissed her again sliding his tongue into her mouth. "You have grown up so much" he only wished he could see more of her.

She blushed letting her enjoy her brothers embrace and gently nudged him back to the bed. "Only as much as you have." She said softly. She got onto the large bed and laid down on her side, facing away from him. "Do you have any ideas about how to get me out of this?" She asked.

Closing his eye he envisioned a chess board "One we kill all male heirs creating a civil war" he grasped her hand entwining his fingers with his own. "Two we find new allies, three well two is all i have" he laughs squeezing her hand a little more before rolling over to shape his body to the back of hers.

She let her fingers intertwine with his as they laid there. She shook her head slightly. "Cashus. I want to end this war not continue it." She said softly. "Turning everyone against them isn't going to stop it."

He kissed her head as he had done many time and took in the scent of her hair, skin. "You know i am my fathers son, well perhaps we could find something they want more then our heads" neither clan spoke truce but each knew what it would take.

They were interdependent the main reason neither side had wiped out the other. that and both were almost equally matched attacking meant leaving yourself exposed. "How about you" he grinned kissing her soft silken lips "Don't tell me mother has finally made a proper lady of you, one who only obeys and does not think" he teased.

Cassidy cuddled up into her brother, taking in his scent. "It's not that." She said. Her tone was completely serious. "You're dealing with a bunch of old men Cashus. They aren't going to want to actually work out a solution. They want the easy way out so it doesn't seem like they gave anything up." She said glancing up at him.

"old angry men more concerned more with there own power then the good of the clanr" If the war ever ended people would ask why they had been in power so long. they might demand that things changed, demand a voice. "There is another choice we run away save what of the clan we can" his body longed for hers yet they could not rush head long into anything. More then one couple had tried to end the war or run away only to find an early grave.

She shook her head. "Only as a last resort. I'm not going to run." She said kissing him softly on the lips. "It's not in my nature." She said with a grin and kissed him harder this time. She wanted him, especially now. She didn't know how many more times she'd have the opportunity. Especially if they couldn't get a plan together and she ended up marring Garth.

Slowly he slid his hands over her shoulders exposing them to his hungry lips it was now or never. He kissed soft flesh exposing more and more of the pale skin his eyes had not gazed upon in years. his lips moved back to hers only to be replaced by grasping hands gentle at first then filled with a desire, a need. Again he parted her lips exploring the confines of her sweet mouth her soft lips and playful tongue.

Cassidy let out a soft gasp, the shoulder to her tank top sliding off of her shoulders. She kissed him back wantingly and let her tongue greet his. She let her hands roam over his hips and smiled against his lips.

He smiled deciding up was better then down and slid the tank over her head revealing her bra. "Oh sis i didn't know you liked that color" he teased it was hard to think of her as a lover despite what they were about to do. he kissed over her color bone then back to her lips his hands sliding around her back to shed more of her clothing.

She blushed some but helped him to free her of her clothing and started to pull his shirt off feeling ever curve of his body as she did so. He was more muscular than she remembered last. "It's just a bra. I don't have to like it to wear it." She said back.
