Kevin woke up early on Saturday morning, he got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen where his girlfriend had left a note saying she had went out to get them breakfast. Figuring he would do something nice for her before she returned home he washed the dishes and swept and mopped the floors then dried them off. When his girlfriend got home she honked the horn and Kevin made his way outside to help her bring all the stuff inside. After they got inside they sat at the table and ate their breakfast, "Well Kev I gotta head off to work I'll be back around 4" ,his girlfriend stated before kissing him and making her way out the door yet again. Kevin stood on the porch sipping his coffee as she drove away. It was a nice sunny morning and the weather was quite warm so Kevin decided to get some lawn work done.

After getting dressed into a pair of jeans and a tank top Kevin made his way outside. He pulled his shades out of his pocket and put them on to keep the sun out of his eyes. Kevin made his way into the back yard and opened the shed to get his lawn mower. After pulling the lawn mower from the shed he put some gas in it before starting it up. About halfway through mowing the lawn he took his shirt off due to being hot then continued to cut the grass. When he finished the lawn he wiped the sweat from his face and put the lawn mower back into the shed. He went into the house and made a pitcher of lemonade and put some ice in it, he then grabbed a glass and brought the lemonade out onto the front porch. Kevin set the pitcher of lemonade on the table that sat on his porch after pouring himself a glass. He watched a few of the neighborhood kids playing a game of football in the street, the neighborhood was so quiet that the kids normally didn't have to worry about any cars speeding by and hitting them.

Kevin looked over to the house next to him when he heard the sound of a truck engine. A UHaul had pulled into the driveway, the house had been for sale for a few weeks now ever since his old neighbors had moved out. He watched and waited curiously to see what his new neighbor or neighbors looked like.

Peyton had gotten up extremely early that Saturday morning to drive to her new location after having loaded the U-Haul the night before. She couldn't wait to get there. Upon reaching the neighborhood, she looked around, watching children play on the street. Peyton was glad that this was a family type neighborhood, thinking it would be an easy life out here.

Once she reached her destination, Peyton climbed out of the U-Haul truck and faced her new house, beaming with pride. She was excited that she was able to get a position and a house right out of college. Since it was summer, she had a while before school started up again, and figured it would give her time to set up her house the way she wanted and to get her classroom together. She had worn yoga capris and a white tank top with her hair up in a ponytail, wanting to be comfortable during the four hour drive to her new home. Now, in the heat, she was starting to wish she had worn shorts. Since her black Dodge Charger was hooked to the back of the U-Haul, she knew she needed to move that and the trailer before getting to her boxes.

After she had finished, she went to the back of the U-Haul and opened up the truck and frowned just a bit. Her older brother had helped her put the furniture and heavy boxes into the truck. How the hell was she supposed to get them out? Sighing, she figured she could just drag the things out, and hoped nothing broke. Peyton grabbed the first box and headed to the house. She still couldn't believe her luck. The female set the box down, unlocked her door, and looked around the neighborhood. She just hoped that her neighbors were nice and quiet, unlike her college neighbors that she had had the past four years. Picking up the box, she walked into her house. The girl's plan was to just set everything down in their prospective rooms, since she thought ahead to label the boxes with what was inside, and then take her time unpacking once everything was in.

"This is going to be a long afternoon," Peyton said to herself as she walked back out to the U-Haul. When walking outside, she looked around once more and noticed a man sitting on his porch. Smiling, she waved to him, hoping he would be nice. As soon as she did, however, Peyton chastised herself. "You need to be worried about unloading this truck, not flirting with boys." The female turned her attention back to the task at hand, and began pulling more boxes out of the truck and hauling them to the house.

Kevin watched as a petite blonde woman got out of the driver's seat of the UHaul, he expected someone else to get out of the truck to help the woman unload but he didn't see anyone. The look of stress on the woman's face told him she was working alone. After the woman waved to him he waved back giving her a friendly smile. Deciding that the woman could use some help he stood up and set his glass of lemonade next to the pitcher on the table. He walked down the steps of his porch then made his way over to the truck and waited for the girl to come back out of her house to grab more stuff. When the woman came back outside Kevin leaned up against the truck and looked at her, "Hey I'm Kevin, your neighbor I noticed you were alone and you have quite a bit of stuff in this here truck so I figured I'd come over and see if you needed some help, I have nothing else to do this afternoon and I certainly don't mind lending you a hand then after you can come over for something cold to drink and I can introduce you to the girlfriend if she's home by then I think you two will get along great" ,Kevin said. He knew he probably had said quite a bit but he was known for being a very out going man and he liked meeting new people.

Peyton had just carried from what seemed to her already the 100th box, she walked out to the U-Haul truck. She was beginning to get a bit sweaty and made a mental note to unpack the bathroom first and take a shower when she was done hauling everything. As soon as she reached the outside, she saw the man she had waved to leaning against the U-Haul. At first, she was a little shocked, but when he mentioned helping her and then meeting his girlfriend, she couldn't help but smile. This was only the first day, and she was realizing that it seemed as though the people in this neighborhood would be really friendly. "Thank you so much, Kevin. I'm Peyton. It's really nice to meet you," Peyton said with her southern drawl. She thought about meeting another girl, though, and almost made a face. She knew that with females, first impression mattered more than any other meeting ever when it came to other females. If she went over to their house to meet this girlfriend sweaty and nasty, she might not get a good impression of her. On the other hand, since she was with this guy who seemed really nice, the female wouldn't care what she looked like and understand she had been unloading the truck all day.

"I may go over and meet your girlfriend and chat this afternoon, though I may want to take a shower first." She smiled politely and went over to the back of the truck. "I have a ton of boxes, and all of my big furniture are behind these boxes. The couch and things are what I'll probably need help with the most. Parker helped me load everything, but he couldn't come today." Peyton could already tell she was going to miss Parker, her brother, as they had always been close to each other growing up. She wasn't sure exactly what she was going to do without him. Peyton forced herself to think about the topic at hand instead of her brother and reached for a box. She could tell they were dishes from the weight and handed them out to Kevin. "These will go in the kitchen. I pretty much have every box labeled with what's in them and what room they should go in. I'm a little OCD when it comes to certain things," she said to him while grinning. It was true, she had always been that way. People could tell by looking at her bookshelf or movie rack. They were both separated by genre, in alphabetical order of course, and then organized by alphabetizing the titles of the movies or books.

"Oh no definitely I'm gonna need a shower when all this is done too so I'll have to come over and get ya when I'm finished but for now let's focus on the task at hand" ,he stated. Kevin took the box from Peyton and carried it into the house for her he then made his way back out to the truck to carry more. "So where'd you move from"? He asked curiously as he continued to carry more boxes into the woman's house. Kevin took a look in the back of the truck and realized that the furniture would soon be the only thing left to carry, "Well we're almost done just got the hard part left to do" ,he joked.

Peyton was surprised at how quickly they were getting the boxes out of the truck and into the house. It was a lot easier than she thought it would be, and was grateful for her neighbor's help. When he asked her where she had moved from, she said, "oh a little town in the middle of nowhere about four hours away from here. I just got a teaching position on the elementary school here for the next school year, and jumped at the chance." She smiled and wiped her arm over her forehead and push the sweat away from her green eyes. Peyton noticed that all that was left was the furniture. "Of course the hardest part would be saved for last," she said with a chuckle. Sighing and preparing herself for it, she hopped into the truck to grab one end of the couch. "I don't know what I would have done about this couch without you. You are my hero."

After the two had finished moving the furniture into the house, she sagged onto the couch with relief. "Thank you again. So much. You have no idea what this means to me. I'll make sure to call Parker tonight and tell him that I had help since he was too busy to follow me out here. My brother is the sweetest, and felt really bad about not being able to come out here today. He took his girlfriend out to somewhere nice for the weekend and is planning on proposing tonight." She smiled at the thought of her brother being this happy, and hoped she would find someone that made her that happy now that everything else was falling into place.

"So you're a teacher that's awesome" ,Kevin said in response as he continued to help her move her stuff into her house. He laughed at her comment about the couch, "Yeah usually when moving the hard stuff is last because it's the biggest and needs to be packed in on the bottom". Kevin climbed into the truck with Peyton and helped her lift the couch and bring it into her house. When they got it inside he to sat down on it to catch his breath. A sigh of relief escaped his lips knowing they were pretty much finished, he listened as the woman spoke. "Well that's good for him it's nice to find the right person and know you're going to spend your life with them" ,he stated. Kevin had been with his girlfriend for nearly three years but he never proposed due to the fact he wasn't really sure if they would definitely stay together and if he was going to get married he wanted to do it right.

"Well let me go shower off and get dinner set up and I'll come and get ya when everything's done, my girlfriend should be home any minute I'll let her know we'll be having company tonight" ,Kevin stated standing up. He made his way back over to his house and cleaned up everything that was on the porch before going inside and taking a shower. When he finished he got dressed and made his way into the kitchen, his girlfriend was already home and was sitting at the table sipping on a glass of lemonade. "Hey how was work" ,Kevin asked walking over and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "It was slow as usual" ,his girlfriend replied. "We have a new neighbor I invited her over for dinner she seems really nice and I think you guys will get along great" ,he told her. She looked up at him, "Well let me get out of my work clothes and then we can start dinner and have her come over" ,she told him.

After Kevin's girlfriend finished changing and getting a few bottles of wine from the cellar she had him go and knock on Peyton's door. When he got to her house he knocked and waited for her to answer.

After Kevin left, Peyton got up and unpacked the boxes for the shower. She also unpacked a few of her clothes and shoes so she could look decent when going to her neighbors' house for dinner. The female hoped that she and Kevin's girlfriend would get along, as she wanted to have female companions to show her where all the nice shopping centers are. After deciding to wear a white sundress, sandals, and a jean jacket, she climbed into the shower, washed off, styled her hair into curls, and put on make up.

Satisfied with the results, she walked to her bedroom to set up her bed while waiting for Kevin to come over to tell her it was time. Before she even started, she heard a knock at the door. "Wow that was fast." Walking over to the door, she opened it and smiled up at Kevin. "Hey. I just got finished getting ready," she told him. She immediately thought about bringing something over for dinner, but realized she had nothing to offer. Peyton felt bad about it, but figured there was nothing that could be done, and made a mental note to make up for that later.

"Yeah me too" ,He stated in response to her comment about just finishing getting ready. "So right this way, we've got some wine already out and dinner should be ready in a little while I figured we could cook outside seeing it's such a nice day and I just mowed the lawn" ,he continued as he led the way to his house. When he reached the front door he held it open for the girl, his girlfriend was already setting stuff up to bring outside. She spotted Peyton almost immediately, "Hey you must be the new girl in the neighborhood I'm Erin it's nice to meet you" ,she said walking over to shake her hand.

Once they reached the house, Peyton smiled at Kevin who held the door open for her. The house was beautiful, not doubt about it. She could tell a lot of thought and love went into decorating and couldn't help but smile at some of the pictures she saw of the couple. Her attention was turned to the female and smiled. The other female was gorgeous, and she could see why Kevin had chosen her as his girlfriend. When she walked over and introduced herself as Erin, the female shook her hand. "I'm Peyton. It's a pleasure to meet you, as well. Is there anything I can help you with?" She walked over to where Erin was getting things together. She wanted to be able to help and not expect them to do everything.

"Sure if you'd like I just need help carrying the meat out to the table on the deck so that Kevin can get started cooking that while I cook the other stuff" ,Erin said in response. She gave Peyton a smile and began to put all the meat onto a platter for Kevin, "I'm gonna go start up the grill then I'll be back in for the cooler" ,Kevin told the two woman before walking outside. When he got outside he grabbed the grill lighter off the side of the grill then turned the gas on before lighting it, after he set it to the right temperature he made his way back into the house and grabbed the cooler. Kevin was a decently strong man and lifted the cooler full of ice and drinks like it was nothing and carried it outside.

Peyton nodded and took the platter of meat outside to the grill and walked back in. She didn't want to be left alone with Kevin while Erin was here, because she might get the wrong idea. When she went back inside, she couldn't help but notice Kevin picking up the cooler like it weighed nothing and shook her head. "Does he always have to play he-man?" she asked Erin with a giggle. It was so funny to her how some men showed their manliness. Peyton wondered if he had a brother, though, that looked nearly as good as he did, but thought it better to ask her neighbors on the first day. "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

Erin rolled her eyes playfully after Peyton asked if Kevin had to play he-man all the time, "Yeah he thinks it impresses me but in all honesty I could care less how much muscle he has I'm in this relationship because the guy is loaded" ,Erin told the girl. Kevin wasn't close enough to hear what Erin had said seeing he was already outside starting to cook. "Oh I don't need anymore help hun you can go outside and grab yourself a drink and relax Kevin's got beer, smirnoff, and soda in the cooler and I've got lemonade, iced tea and wine in here help yourself to whatever you'd like" ,Erin told her.

Peyton's eyes widened when Erin told her the reason why she was with him. She seriously hoped that was a joke, because Kevin seemed like a really nice guy. She smiled and nodded. "Okay. Just let me know if you need any help." Alarms were going off in her head as she walked outside. She should probably tell Kevin what Erin had said, but it was really none of her business. Shrugging it off, she smiled when she saw Kevin cooking. "Hey, He-Man. Need any help?" The female went to the cooler and grabbed a beer, popping the top off and taking a swig.

When Peyton came outside Kevin turned and looked at her, "Hey tiny, I don't really need any help but if you could give me a beer that'd be great" , he said in response. Kevin began to put the meat onto the clean platter then put some more on the grill. After a little while Erin came out with two bowls one had mashed potatoes in it and the other cole slaw. "I'll be right back with the corn on the cob Kev" ,Erin said. "Alright hun" ,he said in response. After a few moments Erin came back out of the house with the corn and some foil, Kevin wrapped up all the corn before placing it on the grill. When everything was done cooking he set it onto the table then sat down, "I hope I did ok guys" ,he said with a smile.

Peyton had just handed Kevin a beer when Erin came out with some food. She smiled at the other woman, but couldn't help but think about her comment for being in a relationship with Kevin. She tried to forget it as the night went on, and soon the food was finished. She sat down at the table in an empty seat and smiled when Kevin mentioned hoping it turned out okay. "I'm sure you did an amazing job. Thank you both for inviting me to dinner. It really means a lot to me to meet such nice people on the first day living here." She took another swig of her beer and fixed a plate of food.

Taking a bite, she could have died right there. "The food is absolutely amazing. You both did a wonderful job."

Kevin fixed his own plate then smiled at Peyton's compliment, "Thank you it's nice to have company over every once in a while so it's our pleasure" ,he said in response. Erin also thanked the young woman for her compliment, she made her plate and began to eat it, "Hey Kevin can you put this back on the grill it's undercooked and I don't feel like getting food poisoning" ,Erin said after taking a bite from her steak. Kevin stood up and grabbed her plate then put the steak back on the grill. After a little while he put it back onto the plate and handed it back to her.

Peyton raised her eyebrow but said nothing when Erin mentioned the steak not being cooked. It was a little pink on the inside, but that was how Peyton preferred her steaks. The other woman surely wouldn't get food poisoning from it. She also couldn't believe that Kevin would just take that kind of criticism from her like that. The whole ordeal was making her very uncomfortable. She wondered how soon would be respectful enough to leave after the three were finished eating. Peyton quickly finished her food without a word and patted her flat stomach. "Again..that was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly." She couldn't help but make a comment about it, and was sure she would regret it in a minute.

Kevin kept his mouth shut in respect for Peyton, normally a comment like that would start a blowout that the whole neighborhood would hear. He finished his food rather quickly then sat back and relaxed for a moment, when Peyton complimented him again he smiled, "Thank you so much I tried" ,he said. Erin just huffed and started playing with her phone, after a few moments she looked up, "Mike's coming to pick me up and buy me dinner I don't know if I'll be home tonight so don't wait up" ,she said before standing up and walking into the house. When she was out of ear shot Kevin sighed, "Yeah go and make yourself pretty for your little fuck toy" ,he said. His tone was much more angry then it had been all day and night. "Sorry about that I understand if you want to leave but you're free to stay as long as you'd like I'll be here all night by myself....like usual".

Peyton gaped at Erin as she mentioned some guy coming and buying her dinner. What kind of relationship was this? She bit her lip when Kevin mentioned going to get pretty for a fuck toy. The female couldn't believe that he would stay with a girl like that. Obviously Erin cared nothing for the man. Shaking her head, she told him, "no. I'll stay here with you. You probably need help cleaning up anyway," she said with a smile. Peyton definitely was not going to leave him because he sounded so dejected when he mentioned that he was always home alone at night, and felt rather bad for him.

A small smile came across Kevin's face when Peyton offered to stay and help clean up, "That's really nice of you I appreciate it a lot" ,he told her. After a little bit Erin came back outside to grab her phone, she was dressed nicely and had just showered, "See ya later Kevin" ,she said quickly before leaving. Kevin didn't bother responding or arguing this was normal and he just learned to get used to it after a while. He stood up and began to pick up all the plates and other stuff and brought them inside, he wrapped up Erin's plate and put it in the fridge figuring he would just heat it up and eat it himself later on. After everything was cleaned up and brought inside he looked at Peyton, "I'm gonna watch a movie if you want you're welcome to stay and watch it" ,he offered.

Peyton stared at both Kevin and Erin in disbelief as she was getting up from the table to help Kevin with the dishes and such. She couldn't believe that he would just let her leave like that, knowing she was going to see another man. To her, a relationship was sacred and it meant being with your other half. Everything else was just a waste of time. The female tried to stay quiet about it and keep her opinions to herself, but it was proving difficult.

When Kevin mentioned watching a movie and inviting her to stay to watch, she wasn't sure what to say. She didn't want to come between Erin and Kevin, but it seemed as there was nothing to come between anyway. Shrugging, she smiled and agreed. "Why not? It will give me one night of freedom before I begin the work of unpacking and decorating my home. Then again, it will all depend on what you were planning to watch, He-Man. Can't stay if you have bad taste in movies," she teased.

Kevin laughed at the woman's comment, "Well why don't you have a look and pick something out" ,he said in response. He then walked over to a rather large cabinet and opened it, his collection could put some movie stores to shame. "I'll go get some drinks and snacks while you browse". Kevin made his way back into the kitchen and grabbed a few things before venturing back into the parlor, when he got back into the parlor he set everything on the table then sat down and waited for Peyton to choose something.

"By the way if you need any help unpacking I'm free all week and Erin's probably not going to be home for most of it so I'll most likely be bored out of my mind anyway" ,he offered. Kevin had a good feeling Erin was leaving him soon and he was trying to do anything to keep his mind off of it. Even though the man looked tough and unbreakable the truth was he hated to be alone and his heart was being ripped to shreds while he anticipated Erin leaving him.

Peyton liked hearing Kevin laugh. She hoped she was able to help him take his mind off of Erin. "That makes it even better; that way, I know we won't be watching a crappy movie," the female told him with a smile. She watched as the male went over to a cabinet and opened it and gaped at it. "Now that's what I'm calling a collection of movies." Once he left the room to the kitchen, the woman walked over to the cabinet and began looking through them. She finally decided on Iron Man. In Peyton's opinion, it had the best of all worlds: romance, action, super heroes, and most of all, Robert Downey, Jr.

She brought the movie back over to the man and sat down beside him. "Call me a nerd, but I love Marvel. I like the comics. I'm surprised that Disney hasn't put Marvel to total shame when they bought them out." The female blushed a bit as she realized she was rambling about things he probably didn't care about. When the man mentioned being able to help unpack, she smiled. "You really don't have to, but it would be nice having company. Only come when you want to, though. Don't feel pressured."

Kevin watched as the girl picked out her movie, when she came over and handed it to him he got up and put it in the DVD player. His television was huge and he had surround sound so it would be like watching it in a theater. "I'm a DC fan myself" ,he told her in response to her statement about liking Marvel. "Marvel's good too but they don't have Batman" ,he smiled then sat back down on the couch. "Do you want the lights on or off"? He asked curiously. When she mention him not having to help her unpack he smiled, "I know I don't have too but I want too besides helping out a pretty girl such as yourself is better then sitting alone in my house all day". Kevin had never flirted or complimented any other woman while he was with Erin but he was starting to get fed up with her shit and Peyton was sweet and beautiful and she seemed to like him, he appreciated that even if they couldn't be more then friends.
