Carolyn Reeves had never used a fake ID before. The daughter of the esteemed Senator Reeves (soon to be Congressman), had always done everything expected of her. Her entire high School career had been spent over achieving in every possible way, and then seeking to top even those achievements. Like her father and mother she was a devout Christian, following every rule set forth by the church and never once strayed from the path of righteousness. Boyfriends were few and far between due to her parents' strict rules, and how closely she followed her beliefs. And it certainly didn't help how mindful she had to be of the media and the way she presented herself publicly.

But tonight she'd been convinced by the young women she called friends to go out to a bar with them. They'd had a fake ID made and ready for her, and told her that she needed to let loose just once in her life. Carolyn had tried to tell them no, but the eighteen year old was pushed and pleased with until she caved.

"You won't regret it," they told her.

Now she stood in a seedy little bar outside town, her red hair pulled back into a messy bun and dressed in a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt. Her makeup was light, and she looked almost as out of place as she felt. The friends she came with were dressed far less conservatively in tight little skirts and bold lipstick. They herded her to the bar and ordered cocktails, choosing one for her. Forcing a smile she pretended she was having a good time with them, but she couldn't help but worry that someone here would recognize her and she'd create problems for her father.

Everything about this place screamed: "GET OUT!" to him. From the cheap drinks, to the noisy modern music, sweaty guys and skimpy young girls. Why on earth was he here!? Or... why on earth would she be here? She was the reason for his presence; Carolyn. Daughter of a powerful man. Soon to be the most powerful. Oswald had heard rumours Carolyn would pop-up here tonight, the Valken mansion was buzzing at this news, to say the least.

Long had they been searching for a way to expand their power, not in a physical form though. More so being covered by an authority figure was what they needed, their deeds going unpunished just by poking some senator. Reeves, the senator, had been a thorn in their operations, swearing he'd try all he could to set justice to the Valken family. Oswald Valken was the oldest son his parents had given birth to, automatically making him head of operarions whenever his father wasn't around. Luckily dad was away on a 'business meeting' now, the rumours of Carolyn kept from his ears. His sons wanted to surpirse him, prove their worth to the family and business. Besides, if dad caught word she was out like this in the open... he'd have forced her kidnapping and what not to happen. He wasn't a tactical man, smart yes, but not in the long run.

That was why Oswald was here, first attempting a different approach, charm her/win her. Possibly scare and threaten her. But keep it private, keep it small. Without her father knowing about it, without causing a giant fuss with randsome and whatever... those weren't off the table yet, just pushed slightly further as their first approach was unfolding.

Carolyn sipped at her cocktail while her friends drank theirs like they thought the bar might run out. It made her all the more uncomfortable, and with her legs crossed and her back stiff it was clear she was trying to withdraw. She didn't want to be here any longer. This had been a mistake. Getting up she lied to her friends and told them that her dad was getting suspicious and she needed to head out. There were obvious complaints, and the argument that she was an adult now was thrown out, but Carolyn brushed them aside and told her friends to be safe.

It felt like someone was watching her as she left, but in a bar that crowded it would be silly to think that no one would stare. She definitely didn't belong here and should have never came.

Outside she had her car keys ready, and paused just long enough to see she had left in time. Her friends had gotten drunk enough to forget their promise of discretion and had begun taking pictures. Because she wasn't there, she wasn't in them, and her friends didn't tag her. It was a relief that the only thing she'd have to explain were the extra miles on her car's odometer, and that was done easily enough. She just had to get home unnoticed by the press or the paparazzi.
