After traversing through the pyramid-like tomb in the middle of the desert, the adventurer known by some as Silvertruth had accessed its very core - where the treasure lay. He had to traverse through strange beasts - Sarcophagus Mimics, Jar Mimics, Medjeds to get here, but his stamina was restored and he was ready to face the boss of this joint.
From the ground tunneled a great, humongous serpent.
"Apophis..."
Silvertruth wielded two weapons - a trusty axe and a long-ranged whip, fit for large monsters. From beneath the sandy ground, mummified zombies rose to support the serpent, as did the previously-mentioned Sarcophagus Mimics, which were much like standard mimics, except with power to match their fanciness.
The minions were a distraction, but they were not the best of distractions, being rather grounded. Apophis on the other hand, while having moves focused on burrowing and rising, was good with jumping and was big enough to reach quite a height.
Thinking quick, Silvertruth thought of something. First, he used his whip to grasp and throw the various lesser monsters at Apophis, damaging and threatening it. As soon as Apophis was provoked and charged, he threw his whip again, wrangling the serpent's neck and manipulating his movements to evade the charging beast that burrowed into the soil. Clinging onto the which attached to Apophis, he used his axe to cut the lower body of the serpent, but his scales proved too tough, merely flaying a small portion of flesh away.
Soon, Apophis jumped and resurfaced, tossing Silvertruth to the side onto what appeared to be rock shelves containing tomes and vases. In order to avoid the minions that frolicked the ground and fight Apophis alone, Silvertruth chose to fight while prancing along these lines of shelves.
Whenever his lower body was within reach, he would whip the flayed flesh, paining it, and soon, he threw his axe at great speeds into the pained serpent's maws, where clamping its fangs only served for the blade to slice through its gullet and push its way out of its scaly body.
As it bled blood blacker than night, all Silvertruth really needed to do was keep fighting until it bled to death, since its flailing and hard scales made it impossible to give it a quick, painless death. Jumping down to the opposing side of the shelves to use them as a barrier, Apophis burrowed to reach him, but the scars and bleeding only accelerated with the coarseness of sand. His reduced movement made him more predictable, allowing Silvertruth to land the final blow as he sliced through the beast's emerging head.
Apophis struggled to move, and soon, ceased altogether.

The battle was done for as the mummies returned to the ground and the mimics returned to slumber. Jumping back to the centre of the room, Silvertruth gazed upon the chest that the now-dead guardian serpent protected, opening it....
