As far as I can tell, here, the two best ways are peruse the various ad forums and put up your own.
So far I've been pretty successful with just replying to ads.
If you do put your own ad up, I'd suggest taking a bit of time to see what other's have done in theirs. You'll get a good idea of what a good ad is and then can write one of your own.

One of the best resources I've found is to make an F-list and link it in your request thread. It makes a good rundown for what you're into, and what you're not!
Not only does it serve as a great litmus test , but also a good reference resource for the people you're writing with, where they can look back, and possibly work in something that you've had on your list!
