.:||WAR OF THE ELEMENTS||:.
{A quadraped wolf role play by Dovaholic}
~PLOT~
In the land of Lumos reside seven legendary wolf packs that maintain order among it. Each pack governs control over a specific element, as well as their own respective district of land. For centuries, these packs co-existed, enforcing a set of strict codes to ensure that balance remained, as well as their rule. However, as a new generation of wolves rises to take the position of alpha within their packs, it would seem that something has shifted in the moons. As the new alphas-in-waiting prepare to claim their birthrights, some of them become seduced with the toxic idea of supreme reign -- a new totalitarian era, with one alpha to rule them all. Such a mental poison breeds betrayal, which breeds disorder, which breeds war.
And war is exactly what ensues. Divided, angry, threatening each other's existence, the alphas have abandoned their previous code of ethics and introduced a new one -- every pack for itself. Those that betray their pack get punished by imprisonment, banishment, or death. Some of the packs still maintain somewhat of an accord, fragile as it is, and work together to achieve surrender from the others. So, which pack will win this war of elements? Which alpha shall come out on top? Who will win in the fight for supreme dominance?
Who will break the dawn of a new age -- as the one alpha to rule them all?
~RULES~
!! The content of this group rp will contain mature themes, including -- but not limited to -- violence, gore, death, rape, genocide, and suicide. !!
Because of the afore-mentioned warning above, I must require that all participants of this rp be at least 18 years of age. This is non-negotiable.
That being said, rest assured that absolutely nothing is going to happen to your character without your 100% given consent. If you wish to plot out a particularly violent or triggering scene (rape, murder, etc.) involving another player's character, you must communicate with them about it, and if they decline, you must respect their wishes.
All participants must type their replies in the English language, and I ask that you have a decent grasp of proper grammar and spelling. However, I understand the occasional typo, and if English is not your first language, then I will not hold it against you.
I have a zero-tolerance god-modding policy, a.k.a, invincible characters, causing harm to another character that is unnecessary or uncalled for, etc. If you portray any god-modding qualities in your replies, I will give you a warning. If the problem persists, then I will send you a notification stating that you will no longer be participating in the group rp.
Other basic forum rules apply, no harassment of other players, etc.
~THE ELEMENTAL PACKS~
The Fire Pack: Wolves of the Fire Pack are identifiable by two common coat colors -- red and deep orange. They harness the ability to exert flames from their fur and their lungs, and they can manipulate the flames as they choose. Because of this, they are immune to other fire-based attacks. Their territory is based in the central south district of Lumos. They are often characterized by their wrathful ambition and battle lust. Now that war has been declared, their ruthless alpha male is determined to win it. Mating rights are reserved for the alphas of this pack. Any wolf caught mating that is not of the alpha rank will be punished severely. Punishments range from imprisonment, to exile, or to even the death/abandonment of the illegal pups.
The Water Pack: The fur of these wolves is colored in various shades of blue. They have the power to bend moisture from anywhere in their surroundings, be it the rain in the clouds or the morning dew on the grass, and control it as they see fit. A select few of them are gifted with the ability to freeze water, giving them power over ice as well. Their pack makes its domain in the north-east. For the most part, they prefer a simple life, living mainly off of fish and trading resources with other packs to survive. Mating rights are open to every wolf in this pack, but only the alpha's pups will receive a den mother. Also, non-alphas are forbidden to mate with alphas.
The Earth Pack: These wolves have striking coats of deep forest green, and their fur often resembles the leaves or shrubbery. They are born with the ability to speak to the forest, calling upon the forces of the trees and the earth to aid them in battle, and they aid in the growth of plant life during the springs and summers. They are also masters of camouflage, easily able to appear one with the landscape. They reside in the western region of Lumos. They are social butterflies, known for their compassion and their belief that all life is valuable. Mating rights are open to every wolf in this pack, but only the alpha's pups will receive a den mother. Also, non-alphas are forbidden to mate with alphas.
The Wind Pack: Identified by their fur that ranges anywhere from a dark violet to a soft lilac, the wolves of the Wind Pack can manifest violent whirlwinds and communicate to other animals by creating small breezes to carry whispered messages. A very rare few of them are born with wings every several generations or so. Their den lies at the furthest corner of the south-east. They are often distrusted by many of the other packs because they tend to keep to themselves and are rarely seen by anyone not of their own pack unless it is of political importance. It is said that they harbor ancient wisdom and guard forbidden knowledge that as been untouched for generations of alphas. Mating rights are reserved for the alphas of this pack; however, each alpha is allowed to mate only once. Any wolf caught mating that is not of the alpha rank -- or any alpha caught mating for more than once -- will be punished severely. Punishments range from imprisonment, to exile, or to even the death/abandonment of the illegal pups. Regardless of the punishment given, alphas that are charged with the offense will be stripped of their titles.
The Light Pack: Marking their home as the capitol of Lumos, the Light Pack resides in the direct center of the continent. They are distinguishable by their beautiful coat colors that vary on a spectrum from a pure shimmering gold, to cream, to silver, to snow white. They are the renowned diplomats of all the packs, and before the war, they were looked upon as the pack with the most respect and authority. They wield the essence of light itself, practicing in white magic. It is said that they have a direct line of access to the heavens. Mating rights are reserved for the alphas of this pack. Any wolf caught mating that is not of the alpha rank will be punished severely. Punishments range from imprisonment, to exile, or to even the death/abandonment of the illegal pups.
The Shadow Pack: The fur of a Shadow wolf is commonly black or grey -- variations of it can include jet black, charcoal, and slate. The Shadow Pack allied themselves with the Fire Pack almost immediately after the war began, though trust between the two packs is thin. They have the ability to literally melt into the shadows, becoming one with them, and can harness black magic. They can communicate with the dead and are known to capture other wolves to use them as live sacrifices to their deities. Every alpha male of the Shadow Pack has been born under a blood moon, an unbroken tradition that has remained since the pack's founding. They mark their territory in the northern district. Mating rights are reserved for the alphas of this pack; however, alphas of this pack are placed upon scheduled mating arrangements to ensure that at least one pup is born under the light of a blood moon. Any wolf caught mating that is not of the alpha rank -- or any alpha caught mating outside of their scheduled arrangement -- will be punished severely. Punishments range from imprisonment, to exile, or to even the death/abandonment of the illegal pups. Alphas charged with this offense may or may not be stripped of their title.
The Lightning Pack: Distant cousins of the Fire Pack, wolves of this pack are recognized by their bright electric yellow fur. While small in stature, they are powerful, able to call electricity forth from thin air by manipulating present static energy. They are the fastest wolves in Lumos, making them the most reliable hunters. Most of them are overbearingly eccentric and unpredictable, and they are often accused of being mentally insane. They reign over eastern Lumos. Mating rights are open to every wolf in this pack, but only the alpha's pups will receive a den mother. Also, non-alphas are forbidden to mate with alphas.
~MISCELLANEOUS~
Neutral Wolves: Neutral wolves are non-elemental wolves, often identified by dull brown or timber coats. Having been ostracized and bullied by their elemental counterparts, the neutrals harbor a deep prejudice. Most neutrals are loners, but a small pack of them has made its home in an isolated patch of territory in the north-west that has been unclaimed by elementals. Lone neutrals are often killed if they are found by any hostile elementals, and females are usually raped and sometimes impregnated. If it happens, those females are then threatened by other neutrals as well, for neutrals consider hybrids an abomination and will dispose of hybrid pups or female neutrals that are pregnant with them -- if those females haven't committed suicide, which many of them do, because they would rather die than give birth to hybrid pups.
Hybrids: Hybrids are the offspring of one neutral parent and one elemental parent, or -- in rare cases -- two elemental parents of differing elements. Most of the neutral-elemental hybrids don't inherit the powers of their elemental parent, though there are a few that do. Hybrids of mixed elements usually inherit powers from only one of their elemental parents. Hybrids are very rare, primarily because they are viewed as an abomination by both pure elemental and pure neutral wolves, so they are almost always killed or abandoned while they are pups. Most hybrids are the result of female neutrals being raped and impregnated by elemental males. Every day of a hybrid's life is a struggle for survival.
