Hello, everyone! My name is Alex, and I'm an avid writer. I started roleplaying at fifteen, but I've been a writer for longer, and have always had a love for story telling.
Which brings me to the point of this thread; after looking around at some of the roleplay request threads, I realized that not ever RP here has to be essentially interactive porn. Who'da thunk? As a result, I decided I'd run some more story-driven rps here. They won't necessarily be sexless– plenty of stories can naturally flow into a sex scene– the smut will just be on the back burner. I would prefer to be a DM of sorts with most of the world building put on me so my partner(s) can focus on their character(s). And yes, I am open to multiple partners (in both senses here [badum-bump])
Before getting into my rp suggestions, I'll leave a few disclaimers here:
1. My schedule won't work out every day. Not only am I full time college student, but I am also in my school's marching band, pep band, AND a student organization for undergraduates in my major. I won't have much time, especially on Saturdays during football season. Seriously, there will be days where I won't be able to do a night time session at all. It's honestly best to schedule RP sessions ahead of time, with a specific date and time.
2. Although I'm not a stickler for grammar, make sure your posts are coherent.
3. I reserve the right to kick you from the RP if you are making me or any other partner (if we're doing multiples) uncomfortable. There's a little more room in these ideas than my purely sexual ones (coming soon to a request thread near you!), but the point of these RPs is to have fun and collectively tell a story. If you're proving to be an obstacle to that, then I apologize in advance, but you will have to go.
With all of that taken care of, let's get to the actual ideas now!
Magical School Mystery: This ain't Hogwarts. In this universe, schools of magic are a particular type of college focusing on, surprise surprise, magic. In this story, you're a student at a very prestigious school of magic, famed for its excellence in the arcane arts as well as its groundbreaking research in all magical fields. But something isn't right here, and you have the option to either just enjoy your time at the school, or uncover its ancient, possibly dark mysteries.
Tall Tales of the Weird West: Shamelessly ripped from one of my long-time DM's home brew campaigns, this RP is set in a dusty frontier where lone paladins chase down gangs of vicious gunslingers, heretical sorcerers, and legendary monsters. This one involves both the players and their characters, as it takes place in the form of several tall tales about a band of do-gooders (the characters) told to group of weary travellers (the players).
Space Opera: Not necessarily Les Mis or Don Juan in space (though we can lean into that train of thought if y'all want). This is a more world-focused RP where you get to travel around an infinite universe of planets and lazers and ALL THE NEON!!!! (Because who doesn't love the 80s sci-fi aesthetic?) If you're a synthwave fan, think Dynatron with a Gunship aesthetic. And yes, that was a hint at this RP's soundtrack (no idea how I'm gong to make soundtracks work over the internet, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it).
Steampunk: Another fairly world-driven RP, here we have a classic retrofuturistic world of cogs, gears, alchemy, and creepy dolls that hold the souls of dead people and eventually lead to the downfall of a city-state in a very tragic tale of love, loss, and lime pie (infinity points to whoever gets that reference). Okay, so it doesn't have the dolls or the lime pie, but it has everything else! From steam-powered atomatons to secret cabals of metal-worshipping chemists, this is definitely an RP for odd, eccentric people who wish to visit odd, eccentric places.
Dieselpunk: It's like steampunk, but set during the world wars. It's got everything, toots, from that new brand of jazz all the kids are listenin' to, I think it's called electro-swing, to supersoldiers who've been mutilated to combine man and machine. For this one, you can really just take the gears and pipes of steampunk and replace them with oil and bolts, as well as Tommy guns, of course. It's also a little less odd and eccentric and more dark and depressing (this is wartime we're talking about).
Atompunk: Jesus, Alex, how many punks are there? Well, a lot, but this is the last one I'll put down (you can ask me about others, though; I know pretty much all of them). Do you like the 60s/70s utopian sci-fi aesthetic? Well, here it is. It's got flying cars, ray guns, and floating cities, along with elements of post-WWII culture, such as the space race, nuclear power, superheroes, and comics. Also, it should go without saying, but these punk RPs focus a bit more on the world from my end, so you would have more control over the plot.
That's pretty much it for now, but I will gladly update as new ideas come to me, so be sure to check the bumps as well!
