Theo had always been an asshole. At school he made no attempts to study, yet always managed to get good grades. With no effort at all he seemed capable of mastering any sport he tried his hand at, yet hadn't joined any teams. He was in many ways simply all round perfect, the problem was that he fully realised that and took full advantage of it. Things that were little to nothing to him earned him praise and adoration and that had allowed him to get away with almost anything for as long as he could remember. And when people didn't adore him, didn't drop down and worship at his feet, he treated them terribly. Unfortunately that had often included his older sister. Of course it was natural for siblings to fight and squabble, but Theo always took it too far. He always had to show up his sister, always had to demonstrate that despite being younger, he was better than her, that he didn't just think he was better, that he knew he was better. The worst part was that he always did in a way that left no evidence behind, that any attempts by his sister to tell anybody what he'd done were unprovable.

That had all changed recently though. On his way to school Theo had been taking his usual route, crossing the street in his usual place, the traffic lights green for him to cross. It had been a beautiful morning and Theo had been listening to some music whilst he walked. Unfortunately the music meant he hadn't heard the screeching tyres of the speeding car, not until it was too late. In barely an instant he had turned his head, just in time to see the car mere inches from him, and then.....nothing. There hadn't even been time to feel pain before he blacked out, the car sending him sprawling up into the air like a ragdoll before it had sped away, the driver clearly too afraid to risk stopping. Theo was rushed to hospital, his wounds treated, most of them not as bad as they looked. Physically he was set to make a full recovery, the problem was more with his head. Despite his injuries being fairly easy to treat the shock of the injuries had sent him into a coma, and none of the doctors could predict when he might wake up.

That had been two months ago. But now, after days that had merged together due to nothing changing, something was finally happening. One of Theo's fingers twitched, then another...and another. His eyes began to move, his eyelids beginning to flitter. Theo was finally starting to wake up. "Nnngh....uhhh.....?" His voice was hoarse from lack of use, his eyes opening slowly as he tried to adjust to the light that they hadn't been exposed to in all this time. "What...? Where....am I....? What....happened...?"

Aria never hated her brother. Sure he was a jerk 100 percent of the time. But she still loved him and wanted the best for him. She had been working that day when he got hit by the car. Receiving a call from their parents saying he was hurt and being rushed to the ER. She left work and hurried over to the hospital. Once she arrived she was immediately sent into tears. What if she lost him? How could someone do this? The questions filled her head as she tried to wrap her brain around what was going on. When the doctors told the family that he was in a coma Aria quit her job. She wanted to be by his side the whole time.

Time passed, days turned into weeks and weeks into months. Aria was there every moment she could. Slept in the room with him. She even started to read to him so he wouldn't feel so alone. Things started to look bleak. She started to give up.

But then one day he started moving. Aria had fallen asleep sitting next to his bed. She heard is voice and shot up. "Hey hey hey. Easy. Don't try to move too much. Your in the hospital. There was a car accident." She explained. "Let me get the doctor." She quickly ran out of the room.

Aria was the first thing Theo saw when his vision finally cleared, he just looked at her curiously, not saying anything. She was talking to him, but his mind was still catching up to his body being awake so he had trouble understanding her to begin with. By the time he could start to process what she had said the girl had run off and left. Well that was...odd, had he scared her away somehow?
Moments later though other people came rushing into the room, starting to poke and prod at him, shining bright lights in his eyes and checking the inside of his mouth, Theo able to do little besides squirm around as the doctors and nurses began to examine him.

Aria had been told to wait outside, and it was a good half hour before the doctors began to leave Theo's room, though one of them approached Aria rather than leaving. "Miss? We've examined your brother, it seems he's alright. His reactions are steady, he understands where he is and what we were doing. However....it does appear that there has been some memory loss" The doctor placed a hand gently on Aria's shoulder. "I'm afraid that Theo has a rather randomised form of amnesia. He remembers certain things, sports, academic abilities, but I'm afraid he has no personal memories, he doesn't remember who he is, and I'm afraid he remembers nobody from his life, friends or...family. Infact he doesn't seem to actually remember the concept of family at all, when we spoke of his parents and sister he didn't seem to understand what those terms meant" He took a deep breath "We don't believe it will be permanent, but I'm afraid there's no way to tell when his memory might return, and there's nothing we can do to treat the condition. The best thing we can suggest is that you continue spending time with him, try to trigger his memories into returning"

Back in the room, Theo was sitting in the bed, looking at his hands, turning them back and forth, examining the scars on them from the accident. He couldn't remember the accident, but the Doctors had assured him he had been in one, and the evidence of it was still all over his body, scars in all kinds of places.
