"Have a good night! We're glad you chose Borgia for your fashion." Alfie called out the slogan as a farewell to the final customer for the night before walking to the door and locking it with a deep sigh. Then whipping about with a huge grin she crowed to the rest of the employees, "We did it! We survived our first Black Friday!" Various cheers sounded from enthusiastic and just downright exhausted employees alike. Seeing as Borgia was still a fairly new store, if a quick hit, management hadn't expected such a rush, even on the sale day to end all sale days. So a few employees pulled doubles. Alfie was one of them. She ended up working open to close so that the manager could go home to be with her family for the holiday, but she knew the paycheck would be worth it. And the chance it gave her to snatch up some sales of her own, courtesy of the employee discount! Her tailored plum pantsuit was slightly wrinkled and what hair wasn't up in a bun might be a bit frizzy, but she came out on top! Beaming at her associates, Alfie began, "Good-"
"Excellent work everyone." The Regional Manager, Maloi Veeres congratulated the store's occupants with a firm nod and a near Mona Lisa smile. The only thing taking away from it being the fact that Mona Lisa was not a dark elf, nor a man. The halfling wilted slightly at being cut off, and slunk to the side as the District Manager, Klara Deklov approached, adjusting her glasses. "We not only met our sales goal, we quadrupled it." The human woman seemed smug at such profit, while Mr. Veeres acted like it was all according to plan, nodding once more before stating, "Certainly a momentous enough occasion to warrant celebration. I'll leave you to it." Smoothing the lapels of his suit jacket, the dark elf strode towards the back exit. Ms. Deklov was distracted as her phone began buzzing and she spared a glance at Alfie, "You're Assistant Manager, right? Go ahead and organize something. It's on the company's tab so not too expensive. Hello?" She answered the call, turning and walking a bit away.
The freckled woman was looking a little overwhelmed at the sudden change of plan and shift of responsibility as she turned back to her coworkers who were already talking among themselves at a dull roar now both of the bosses leaving. "Um, everyone? Did you all hear what they said? I thought maybe we could put it to a vote between-" Her lips pursed in frustration at the boisterous group for not listening and at herself for not being more assertive. She tried to gather her courage but it was easy to feel small when...well you were.
