She was excited.

Not only because of the party that was going to be happening in a few moments but because it's about a couple more days for the start of the season. She was proud that her father, Victor Lowndes, had one of the most successful football team in all of Las Vegas. She was also really proud of him. Veronica had a smile on her face that has been there since this morning. She could not wait to see Rickie tonight and party her butt off along with seeing everyone else. Her father had left earlier and she was just finishing up and getting herself ready for the party. Veronica reviewed herself and her outfit on the floor stand mirror before she nodded her head then walked out of her room.

"Lucas. Oh, Lucas." He was their personal chauffeur and was available whenever she needed him. She made it obvious that she was ready to go as Lucas stood upright within an instant and scrambled to get his keys ready. Veronica sighed and rolled her eyes as her heels clicked on the hardwood floor beneath her and she followed Lucas out to the car. She smiled when he opened the door for her and she got in then gave him instructions to take whenever it was he had taken her father earlier. With a small nod, Lucas started to drive and she sat back with her eyes peering out of the window. She just really hoped that Rickie liked her outfit because she did have to dress to impress tonight.

They had arrived at the mansion of another football player, who had suggested the party as she thanked Lucas and got out of the vehicle. Her eyes widened at the packed mansion and knew that it was going to be hard to find her father and fiancee. She maneuvered her way through the crowd then bumped into one of Rickie's friends on the team. "Oh, hey, have you seen Rickie or my father?" She asked after giving him a small hug. His eyes went left then right before pointing over to Rickie standing off in the distance. "Thanks, love," Veronica said as she pushed through the sea of people before her again.

When she got closer to Rickie, she made sure to stand behind Rickie and cover up his eyes with her hands, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "Guess who? You get only one guess though." She said in a very sweet and slightly sultry tone. So, of course, Rickie should who she is just by the sound of her voice.

Rickie laughed and bit his lip a little and he turned around. "My favorite person!" He laughed more. "It's about time you show up Veronica." He teased her and he spun around and hugged her. Rickie used his football muscles to pick her up a little. He set her back down on her heels and he laughed a little. "How are you? You look amazing."

Rickie looked at the brunette as he smiled more. Rickie and Veronica had a very unique relationship. Of course Rickie had a gorgeous blonde wife Sophia but she hated the spotlight. So she rarely came to events like this. She was not here tonight.

Rickie was wearing a grey suit, light grey shirt and a red tie, it was the same color as Veronica's top since that was the team's color. Rickie looked at a few of his friends walk to get a drink leaving the quarterback and the owner's daughter alone.

She let out a small chuckle whenever he picked her up and hugged her then straightened out her clothes while responding to his question. "Thanks. I was hoping you'd like it." Veronica mentioned as her eyes scanned over the male specimen in front of her. "Not looking too bad yourself though, Rickie." She had said as her hand touched parts of his suit. Her eyes went toward his friends as they walked away and she smiled widely at Rickie.

"So, where's Sophia? I am dying to see how she is dressed." She had asked while walking over toward the table to get a drink, hoping that Rickie knew to follow her. Veronica grabbed herself something to drink and took a small sip from it, still eagerly waiting on Rickie's reply. She could not help but like Rickie and he was the quarterback so of course, she was going after the most valuable player on the ream. She also still wondered where her father was, too.

Rickie looked at her. "Ah she's a little under the weather tonight, she's been working a lot of really late nights at the hospital." Rickie looked at her and he grinned a little. "She's been working nights overnights.. I guess they are really, really understaffed with nurses. It's the end of the summer and a lot of vacations and stuff are coming up. She wishes she was here. I am sure that she would tell me to say hello to you." Rickie looked at her. He walked over and grabbed a drink and smiled.

"Your father wants me to walk around and say hello to all these fans that paid so much to get in here.. Come with me? Maybe make it a little easier?" Rickie grabs her arm and walked over to some fans. Of course he's their favorite players since he is the MVP. Rickie is super nice to them. He's really all about the team and the fans. He smiles a little as he looked at Veronica between fan chats. "I already need a break from this." He teased.

Veronica gasped because Sophia was not in attendance with Rickie. "I am sorry to hear that, Rickie. I hope she feels better though." She said in a sincere tone the took a sip of her drink and looked away for a moment but then looked back at him, nodding her head. "Be sure to give her my hello and good vibes." When he asked her to walk with him to meet some fans, of course, she stammered through her words then shrugged her shoulders. He had wrapped his arm around hers and she just went with and started to walk beside him as he met with the fans. Being Rickie's arm candy felt all too natural as she stood there and smiled but shook the hands of some people that knew who she was.

She chuckled at his teasing words then slapped his arm playfully. "Oh, Rickie. You should love this, Mr. MVP." She teased toward him then saw a reporter coming up towards her. "Hello, are you and Rickie an item?" The reporter asked as Veronica shook her head towards the reporter. "As much as I'd love to have Rickie, he's taken but not by me but by someone," Veronica said truthfully then sent the reporter on their way with a scoff to follow.

"Let's go and meet some fans on the inside," Veronica muttered as she dragged Rickie by the arm this time.

Rickie went along with her and laughed as they talked to more fans. It was clear that everyone had massive expectations for the team this year. It was more or less, a Superbowl or Bust for the team. Rickie seemed to take the pressure in stride. He smiled as he told the fans that they had an amazing team, they were super focused this year and could not wait for the game on Sunday. Rickie smiled. "Just keep cheering, keep on supporting us.. It's going to be a good season." He smiled. He posed for a few pictures and signed more autographs.

Finally Veronica's father came over towards them. "There they are!" He came over and hugged and kissed his daughter on the cheek and shook Rickie's hand. "Rickie where is Sophia?" Rickie sighed and told him the same story about her being under the weather. Her father was disappointed but her understood.

He smiled more. "We are about to do the welcome speech, won't you both come on stage? Darling will you do the introductions?" He asked his daughter.
