Luna Myth was a beauitful white lioness, and though she could shapeshift at will, it did require alot of magical energy to pull off which is why she didn't do it often. How ever as she was looking through the library for something to read she found a book one of her favorite stories. It read the life and times of Merlin the Wizard. Once she opened the book and started reading. The book began to glow with a powerful light until it finally engulfed her...

When the lights had finished, Luna looked around only to find that she was no longer in the library of where it had once stood. Because the area that she had been brought to was nothing but a grassy forested hill and her feline ears picked up the sounds of a near by battle. What had just happened to her. Had she been transported from the modern era to a more medieval one. The only way to find that out was to go explore. Having no idea that the clothes she was wearing would no doubt cause people to talk after all no female in this time and place would have been caught dead wearing a t-shirt and jeans. It just wasn't done most females wore dresses or robes if they practiced magic.

So she cautiously moved towards the sounds of battle climbing a near by tree that would afford her a better view and what she saw was too beings in full onset armor on horses duking it out with lances, her yellow eyes showed her shock at what she was seeing. Something had brought her back through time. The question was why or who would have done that. Though that question would soon be answered.

Loneliness. That was the only word that described Merlin. For the past decades he has been with his lovely wife. She was beautiful, stunning, knew a few tricks or two. Together, they were inseparable. That is until tragedy struck. A cold stormy afternoon, an ambush took place at the castle. Merlin, late to the battle heads over to see his love on the ground. Arrows, covered in anti-magic, hit her back. He tried his best to revive her, but it was too late. No, he was too late. She was gone from him, for good.

The next few decades he lived as a hermit wizard. He refused to see anyone except the king. He would work day and night on spells and potions, anything to erase the pain of loss. His reputation to a major hit since he wouldn't move on. He didn't care, he just wanted her back, but knew no one could replace her. At was in the morning that Merlin decided to give it another chance. To find someone new, someone that'll help him let go of the past. Standing up, he dust off some old books about summoning and began reading it over from front to back. There was a way to find that someone.

Gathering all the ingredients he need, he began to chant out a spell to deliver her from her time to this time. All that was left was to put a timepiece on top of the spell book. With a crackles of thunder and a very bright glow, the summoning spell was done, sort of. Instead of appearing in his house, the summoned person was somewhere, but where? This wasn't good, not only was the person not there but there was a few battles going on as well. Grabbing his blue robe and spell book. Merlin exit his house and began to look for her.

His first stop was the forest. Since the battles were there, he must make sure that the summoned was safe. He vowed not to be late again. He wasn't going to lose another. He stopped after a few minutes of search. He couldn't find that person anywhere, that is until he heard a leaves rustling. Looking up he sees someone way out of place in this period. That white lioness, did he summoned her? "Hi there." he said looking at her.

Luna glanced down from her view point in the tree. Seeing a man in a blue robe with what appeared to be a book in his arms. Could this man be the fabled Merlin? whom was nothing more than a myth an a legend back in her society of the modern era. She decided to take a chance in speaking to him. "Hello, might you be able to tell me where I am?" Then she slowly and gracefully began to climb the tree down.
Though the energy that surrounded the white lioness was different than any magic that had been here before. It was not something most wizards or witches would have been familiar with. Sense her brand of magic was tied directly into her blood and could only be empowered by that natural energies around her.

The white furr glinted slightly from the sunlight, even as her eyes stood out and yet every once in awhile changed color as if she could not control that part of herself depending on her moods.

Merlin watch as she came down from the tree. This lioness has to be the one he summoned, although he found it odd that it was someone like her. Her time was more unusual than his but beggars can’t be choosers, he supposed. Once she was down he looked at her in good detail. He can sense an energy that he felt before. He would wonder more, but with a battle going on, now wouldn’t be a good time.

“I’ll explain later, now we got to head back.” He said. He gestured her to follow him as the knights fighting we’re getting closer. Passing by shrubs and trees, he shows her the way to his home. Once there he goes to the door that shows no knob nor lock. Placing a hand on it he said a simple chant and the door opened by itself. “Come on in. It’s better to tell you everything in safety.” He said and let’s her in.

The house looked small, but inside it was any magic users dream. A library filled with books on every type of magic. Labs for every use from alchemy to summoning and everything in between. His crystal ball, blue as the ocean, was in the center of his home. Of course he had the usual kitchen bathroom and bedroom. “Have a seat, anywhere is fine. Care for a drink?” He asked as he puts away his book.

Luna followed him, trusting him, sense she had no other to trust at the moment. But she didn't want to be here when the battle got closer to where they were at the present. How ever once she entered his home. Her eyes roamed across all the books that he had on shelves. Glancing around for a place to sit down she finally found a chair an slowly sat down. "Oh well I guess I could use a drink. Long as it is a glass of milk or water will be fine with me." She never drank anything stronger than that. Though she knew some shifters could pull their own weight drinking stuff that was alot stronger than milk. She just had never been able to handle that very well.
Still she had no idea what she was doing here or even if there was a way to get back to her own time. She had a feeling he knew the answers and it was possible that she may get them today at some point.

"No milk here, not in a while." he said as he gets some water for her. Handing her a glass, he sat down facing her with his own glass of water. "Where to begin, because there's a lot to take in." he and took a sip. "Might as well tell you my name. I am Merlin. Wizard, scientist and guidance to his majesty, King Arthur. Where you are is along the outskirts of Camelot, inside my home." he said and looked outside. "Good thing I found you. Saxons were on the attack." he said describing the battle outside. He did assured her that this house is well protected and nothing should go wrong. Merlin gave a long side and starts to tell the lioness his reason for bringing her here.

"Decades ago, I had someone very special to me. She had the grace, the beauty, the magical knowledge that could rival my own. We were so in love that the king and queen were jealous, though they didn't expressed it outright." he smiled before frowning once more. "A ambush came about the castle one stormy day. When I heard about it, I rushed over knowing my wife would want to take part. When I got there, I was too late and she passed away in my arms. I vowed never to leave outside these walls again. My heart was severely wounded, nearly irreplaceable. I think it's been about 40 years until I decided to do something." said and a book floats over to his hand.

"I knew I didn't want to be alone, but I did feared to lose another. I decided to take my chances, to find someone with a great magical energy like my own. But it was rare to fine one here, so I used this book to find that one. And now, here you are." he said and took a breath.

Luna's eye brows rose at that, from what she heard, while she did take a sip of water.
"Well I guess you are in luck as I happen to be a shapeshifter, and my energy of magical power as you would call it is derived directly from my blood line. But it is only empowered by natural forces of energy that are around me at any given time.

But not only that your story, King Arthur and the knights of the round table are just stories that are written and told in the time that I am from. And it is almost to the point that you all have become legends or myths as some of the more educational people from my time keep saying over and over. If what you are telling me is true then those stories that I have in my time may be based on actual truth rather then what we think we know." But not that she would tell Merlin that he had always been one of her favorites to read about. But sense had introduced his name to her it would be poor manners for her to not do the same. " I am called by my friends and family Luna Myth." Though white lionessess were rare among the shapeshifter community and it was said those who were born with that fur color possessed far more magical abilities that had to be discovered then those who didn't. But there was the reason for that last name, because Luna's line was what started the mythic lions of legendary shapeshifting an some well still had a few throw back forms to that time frame.

"Bloodline magic and shapeshifters, you say. I've read up on people like that." he said and listened to what she had to say. "Legends, huh?" Merlin couldn't help but chuckle. He wondered what things were told about him in the far off future. Hopefully, noting too revealing or demeaning. "Sometimes, people go overboard on legends and myths. Like the fact most respect me. They can often use that word to replace fear." he said spring some knowledge her way. "It is nice to meet you Luna." he smiled and examined the white lioness. Her personality and her magical energy proved that the summoning was a success.

"Now that you're here, we need you to look the part for this period." he said and looked closer at her. "I must say, I've never seen ladies wear such clothing, let alone a lioness shapeshifter." he chuckled. Curious he touched the fabric of her jeans and t-shirt. "Strange, these seem to feel soft. Is this how it is in your time?" he asked as his hands continued to touch her clothes. Once he stopped, he gave a snap of is fingers and showed her images of the regular and noble dresses and robes. Every few seconds, a new style would appear before her. "Now these are what you'll see from time to time. It all depends on status." he said.

Luna blushed slightly with his eyes looking closer at her clothes, even touching them. "Yes its how we dress in the period of time that I am from. Females can dress just like the men if we want to. We even have jobs that guys do. Though alot of the females tend to join the army even when there is not war going on. But the pay is good so alot of us don't mind as well as getting free education so its a bit of a win win situation. Plus if you are a shape shifter the military tends to snag you up because you can infilitrate alot of places other people can't get easy access to." Her eyes moved to the images he was showing her of the clothes that that were worn in this time period. "Oh wow the dressess look nice but I think I like the robes more than anything." The only reason she had said that was because the robes would be easier to discard if she ever had to shift forms. The dresses would just end up tearing if a shift was forced onto her. "Plus these clothes that I am wearing are made special for shifters they shift with any form I take so that when I return to my normal form I am not exactly naked."

But she was happy to have met Merlin as well. "Actually I am pretty happy to have met you too. Besides the fact you were one of my favorite stories to read all the time in the library when I wasn't busy working a few jobs." She'd had alot of jobs though her least favorite had been with the military for a few years. But after that she had enjoyed working with people at some of the other jobs she had worked part time in. Though today she had been between jobs at the moment.

Merlin listened to what clothes she preferred and why. He nod as he decided on what clothes she wanted in the time period. “Robes it is then. Your time period is unique. Not a single lady here would dare take up arms, let alone forge them. They might call blasphemy if they heard such a thing.” He said. He too gave a blush hearing her praise him from the tales she had heard of him. “Thank you Luna. I hope I live up to the future expectations. and takes her hand.

“Very well, I know a good place where they have robes for apprentices and intermediate wizards.” He said and heads to the door. He shows her that it won’t budge and that only a spell would open it. “If you’re okay, I want you to live here. I’ll tell you how to open it.” He said and press his hand in the door while his other hand was holding hers. He said a simple phrase that meant to open things. His energy radiated around the area. It was nothing compared to big spells he can do. Within a second, the door opened flawlessly.

Luna squeezed her hand slightly against his. "Well I am sure you will live up to more than what I read in the books I had in my time frame. I mean I believe alot of the stories were embellished so that people would actually read them. I am sure over time the actual truth has been layered with alot of things that probably arn't true." Then she blinked as he brought her to a door an then told her how he wanted her to live here with him. "I would have to accept as I don't have any where else to go or anyone else I can trust. Because of where I came from, and what I am. I am sure there alot of people here who would probably try to drain my magic from me by taking my blood." She inclined her head with a nod as he told her that he would tell her how to open the door.

She felt the energy radiate around them as he opened the door with his chants, and she wanted after a few seconds that the door itself opened soundlessly and flawlesly to reveal another hallway that would lead to where the robes were kept. At least what she would need to be dressed with. "I guess eventually you would like to see how I shapehift, or what I can turn myself into."

He walks her down the hall to his room. For a home that was small on the outside, he really put a lot of magic to make it look big inside. There was a nightstand stacked with request from the king, other knights and a citizens of the realm. Some were tedious, others were quite the challenge. “It use to be near the roof. You won’t believe how many people want to use my magic for tedious things. Like blessings a sword to protecting a garden.” He told her.

Going by his full size bed. He opens the closet and shows Luna all his robes. All were different shades of blue. The bolder and darker the color, the more is was use to meet with nobility. He pushed aside some of them and let’s her choose from the others. When she talked about shapehifting, he raised his own brow. “You may show me anytime you please. If you want me to keep it a secret, I will.” He told her.

Luna went to look at the robes in the back picking one that looked at least green to her eyes, and it would bring some color out on her form. But with her white hair and fur it would make it stand out all the more. There were other colors to choose from. But the majority she saw was blue. "Yes I would prefer you to keep my shapeshifting a secret, the less people of that ability the better. I can imagine how that would be. I mean my own magic feels stronger here than it did back in my own time period and that is saying alot because though we have magic or at least what we call magic it is really only just smoke and mirrors to put on to etertain people. Although as for my people we still practice alot of the old ways that started from ancient Egypt."

Once she had the robe in her hands, then her eyes closed for a second, as her energy erupted from her in waves, her ears shrinking, as did the white fur into her body, becoming skin, and her ears becoming that of pointed human ears which resemebled that of an elf. When she was finished she looked almost completely human except for the long length of her wavy curling hair. Her eyes though would give her away as they did not look entirely human. Then placing the robe over her own t-shirt and jeans, it was floor length so it hid the clothes that would have been a dead give away for her being a stranger on this planet.

He nod his head agreeing never to tell a soul. Her secret was safe within these walls of his home. He watched her shift to be more human like. She did say she has more energy here than back at her own time and it showed. He didn’t faze at all when he felt her energy. He was amazed though that she has that power in her. He knew summoning Luna was the right thing. It reminded him of her and the smile etched more across his face.

“Tell you what. You can have that robe as well as the one we’ll shop for. In fact I’ll change the the color for it too.” He smiled and walked around her. Touching the robe he lightly tapped it and the color that was on her robe was now white. His hand simply slide across the robes arm and it became red. He did it again and it turned orange, then pink, than gold, and finally green. There was a joy in his heart that he had lost for decades. Being with her was slowly lifting his spirits.

Luna smiled slightly at that. "Thank you for that though is there anything else you want to tell me. So I don't look like an idiot while we are looking at other robes to shop for?" True in this form she looked human enough and would have their mannerisms. But she had only done this form because it was less conspicuous than her feline form. Though she would have to eventually return to that form later on when she was back here in Merlins home.
"Besides the only way my actual clothes would have vanished was if I had taken more of an animal form besides the one you saw me in which is my real form. But that would have been a little more difficult. I am sure white kitties are harder to explain than a white lioness." Though she didn't say that she could shift her form into other animals not unless he asked her that question. Though if he ever did she would be more than happy to show him.

“Well, besides that the are nobles that can come and go, knights that might stop by and they love it when the lower class shows respect for them not really.” He said and thought about it. She is a shapeshifter, he wonders if there was an easier way for her without being too suspicious. “Luna, what else can you shapeshifter into?” He asked out of curiosity. He knew little about them so knowing more can help him out a lot.

Luna glanced at him slightly. "I can shift into any form you ask me or from what I can see. Such as any type of a bird, cat, wolf or anything that you can name. I can probably visualize it and shift into that. I haven't actually mastered shifting into a smaller size and I do have cousins that can do that and they are called shape changers because they can go into the smallest of sizes such as mice. The kind of shifter I am we can only shift into larger forms or birds because that is the closest smallish form we are able to acheive. Although I have heard it said that some of us can shift into winged felines I have never tried it of course because I never had the time. Though there was one time I went on vacation and decided to try and shift into a very small wyvern although I can alter my coloration in each shift so it is not exactly white. I just usually don't do it becasue white is my natural birth color."

Merlin gave it some thought. But when he heard wyvern, a spark of inspiration hit him. “That’s it, a small wyvern.” He said and had one appear around his hand. “You do know that these creatures are good company as well as birds. Yes, none would be the wiser since it’s me. Not even Arthur himself.” He said before it vanished into thin air. “Alright. That sounds like a great idea. And I’m learning more about shapeshifters. I’ll add the information to my scrolls” He told her.

Luna glanced at him slightly. "So you want me to shift into that, just to clearify? because if I do that I have to take the robe off." She was curious as to that it seemed more like the logical explanation and he wouldn't have to introduce her right away of course. Eventually it would have to happen. But if she was disguised as a mythical creature it would fit in more with Merlins appearance and she couldn't argue with that. "I suppose so although the story we were told is that a wyvern was normally a sign of destruction, but then I guess so were the story of dragons. I always thought they very closely resembled one another except wyverns were only bipedal, and dragons had four limbs if you exclude the wings making it six." But she shrugged at that. If that was what the wizard wanted her to do she wasn't above doing it would keep her closer to him especially sense a wyvern would be expected as one of the wizards familiars at least that is what everyone would assume sense it would always be around him if not on him.

“Indeed, I am positive that none would be the wiser. Sure knights have fought dragons and wyverns, but they are practically gone, and none has attack our land for years. “ he assured her. Her words were true about a wyverns. They were a harbinger if a dragon attack. But thanks to the king and his knights, those reptilian threats have decreased to the point of rarity. As for Merlin himself, he still know where a few were, but kept it secret so another hunt would occur. “They have seen me before with other strange creatures as well. Some ignored me, believing it was typical research, some would look over and others would ask about it out of curiosity. Nothing to serious will happen, Luna. You have my word.” He promised.

Luna inclined her head slightly at that. "Alright I will do it now, but after that I will either need to eat something or rest before I can rebuild my energy back up to make another shift." It was stronger here too. But eventually she would run out of energy to power the shift and she would be stuck in that form until she regained her energy. Then she took the robe off, as she began to shift into that of a small scaled beast, the wyvern, though she didn't turn green, she actully turned into a dark sapphire blue colored wyvern to match that of Merlins's robes. Because after all if she was the same blue as his robes it would be harder to tell that she was there around him. She flapped her wings a little her dragon like eyes glancing upwards at him. Then her voice came to him but it wasn't spoken out of the reptilian like mouth. "This should work for now I think but at least I will be safe enough for the time being and I have to admit no one will notice me hardly at all."

"Very well." he said and exits the house with Luna. Looking out he sees the town and walks towards there. "I have to admit. I don't do much shapeshifting magic. I'll make sure to understand more of it thanks to you. We can also go by the market to get some food for you." he said before a thought came to mind. "Has food changed during your time period? Or is it still the run of the mill sustenance that we have here?" he said still interested in her timeline. Whatever the case he'll make sure to get the good ones.

Entering Camelot, the town was as normal as it can be. People walking about, working, shopping or the occasional chats that go on there. People did glace seeing Merlin there. It made people wonder why he was here, did the king summoned him? That's usually when he would walk to this area. One person did come up to him with that question in mind. "No, just shopping. I have important things happening now and it just can't wait." he said to the stranger. That person never saw Luna since she blended in perfectly with his robe. "I has seemed to worked, Luna. No one is the wiser." he said looking at her. Turning the corner, the clothing and fabric shop was there. The store was full of different fabrics, clothes, dresses and robes. The seamstress welcomed the great wizard and asked she could be of service. "Just looking for robes, I'll pay you when I'm done." he said and goes over to where all the robes are. Just like in his closet, it's ranged from apprentice to nobility. "Tell me when you found all the robes you want. I'll adjust it to help with your shapeshifting once we get back." he said to Luna mentally.

Luna replied to him softly, while still curled up against him around his neck and it seemed for the most part that the form she had taken had matched his robes so completely that no one had noticed she was there on his right shoulder, while her long tail had curled around his neck to keep her in place. "Food is perhaps not the same as it is here, I am not sure if I can project images of what I mean in this form. But I will try to give you an idea of what I mean." She visualized the different foods, and the buildings that one could go and buy food from, even the fast food buildings It was alot of imagery that she managed to send via the telepathy communication, but she thought it might have worked.

Then they arrived at the clothing shop, as merlin walked into where they had the robes just like the ones he had organized in his study. She glanced at them, though she was partial to the colors of the nobilitiy ones, she also picked out quite a few of the apprentice ones to go along with the nobility ones. That way if she had to play off as either an apprientice or had to dress like she was a master at her craft then those would provide the cover she would need. "I think that is enough Merlin, those should work at least if I need them for a good cover and for some clothing to wear as well for every day use. Although it might not hurt to pick up a few dressess just in case I will ever need to wear them." There had been a few dresses that she had actually taken a liking too an one that would bring out any color she took or even match the white fur of her real form.

Merlin nod and simply pet the wyvern while the seamstress wasn’t looking. If she were to see it . Then she would see him simply stroking air thanks to Luna blending in. He gathered all the clothes neatly on top of each other and with a quick spell, her clothes teleported from the store to his him. “Don’t worry, they’re safe at home. I often do this when there’s a lot to carry. They would most likely be on the bed or in the closet.” He mentally told her an paid for the clothes.

Outside the store a Knight was tormenting a few citizens. Stealing some apples, eating and tossing them to the ground. He was very rude and egotistical. He only a knight because of his strength and alliance to nobles outside. As he sees the knight take another bit, Merlin snapped his fingers and the knight bit down on a rock. Holding his mouth in pain, he glares at the wizard for doing such a thing. “Next time it’ll be worse than a rock. I suggest you leave them be.” He warned him as his magical energy began to increase to show how serious he was.

A low growl also punctuated Merlins threat to the knight, even if Luna herself couldn't be seen. How ever it was clear that there was some sort of creature with Merlin even if was not clearly seen. Though Luna could feel his energy rise around her, and though she had enjoyed the stroking of her her body, while he had been petting her.

What she had seen of the knight caused her shoulders to tense a bit, and though she couldn't help it icy blue flames flickered around her jaw line even if she didn't open it to breath it out. Though she was tempted to aim it at the knights feet. Her people had always held to protecting the innocent from people like this knight. But still if she had wanted to truly do something it would have broken her cover an that she could not afford. "That is incredible, and I am guessing that does come in handy when you have alot of stuff to buy. But I am so very tempted at giving him a hot foot for the way he is treating the people around here. But if I did that I would likely blow my cover."
