BMR Isn't Providing What I'm Looking For

I'll get to the point: I'm not a writer. I can be one when I try, but I usually don't want to. I have no interest in authoring long stories, especially not as a collaborative effort. And while I enjoy character development, I am content to explore that through D&D.

I come to BMR for one reason: To indulge needs that aren't being fulfilled in real life. Namely, my need for intimate, affectionate interaction. I look for this through smutty roleplays - since I generally don't have to slog through multiple multi-paragraph posts to get so much as a virtual hug - but then I run into the problem of filtering through kink requests I find to be turn-offs. So many non-con requests...

I keep coming back to BMR because any time I try to search for other sites on google, all I get are ones that look like they'll pose the same problems, or I'll find articles asking if online roleplaying is cheating.

What I want is a roleplay experience that's only a few steps away from cybersex, but is clearly different from it. Something where the direct interaction is the focus. Where smutty action and romantic motivations combine into affectionate intimacy. And preferably through on-site private messaging, as I'm not able or willing to sit down to long back-and-forth chat sessions, nor to publicize the experience in a thread.

Does anyone know of a site(s) where I'd be more likely to find such an experience?

Personally I think it's more a problem of finding the right person, no matter what the site is. There are a lot of individual preferences that go into stuff, even if you toss a word like "intimacy" around.

And believe it or not, I have the opposite problem here: I prefer non-con themes (kind of romanticized ones), but many of the requests I get are for characters who are supposed to act like they're indebted, brainwashed or drugged into acting horny, eager, and all but mainstream porn vanilla to begin with. These people say they like what I asked for, but to me it's nearly the opposite too. Now there are a few who want more "hardcore" non-con or more extreme darkness than I am into, but it's more common that I get asked to focus on playing easy for some fast excuse that doesn't appeal to me.

If you haven't already tried it, maybe Discord... It's definitely "chatty" for many people.

I honestly think that it is about finding the right partners. You will run into a lot of people with various needs, in various communities, perhaps you just haven't found that one person who wants what you do. I personally want more of a great escape, a place to write about characters who do things I never would get to do, but also to tell stories, but occasionally I just want mindless smut so it depends. What I have run into, on various sites like this, is that my particular like, for supernatural creatures, is not something a lot of people want to do. Many just want slice of life type rps or furries nowadays. I have learned to give a little, to get a little.

I have to agree completely. It's much more about finding the right partner than what site you're on. Finding someone that shares your particular tastes and your writing clicks with is always difficult. You may even find a partner that's great in one roleplay, but not so much in another roleplay. It depends on what you're looking for at that time.
I've only found one long term partner. She and I actually started randomly chatting, started up a roleplay and ended up being partners for over a year. I think that's pretty difficult to find though. We just happened to fit really well at challenging each other and building off of each other's ideas.
My suggestion is try to play with as many people as you can. You never know which one is going to click.
