What if committing deadly sins give you superhuman powers?

When you submit to a dark god, violent crimes can allow you to be superhuman, would people join a doomsday cult to bring about the end?

Physical assault, sexual abuse and other physical torqure makes you stronger and tougher.

Greed and other immoral abuse of wealth and power makes you rich and powerful.

The rich control the government, and the dark gods allow them to stay in power, and along with the other physical soldiers, those that do not stay in line get punished.
