The last thing Laura remembered was the screeching sound of tyres. She had been crossing the street on her way to her very last day of High School, happy that it was finally done with, but then there had been screeching tyres, a moment of pain, and then....nothing. Everything had gone dark. She recalled seemingly drifting in and out of consciousness, flashes of light, distant voices sounding panicked or urgent, but eventually they had vanished as well and she had found herself seemingly adrift in absolute nothingness. Just as she had been about to give up everything though there had been a flash of light, then suddenly....she was...somewhere. Laura had found herself standing amongst....clouds? She also felt in perfect health, no injuries, no soreness, no trace of the pain she remembered feeling moments earlier, or at least moments to her anyway. But then a being had appeared, calmly explained to her that she had died from her injuries, killed in a tragic accident. But, because she had lived a good life she had earned a place within heaven, she was to be blessed with eternal paradise, an eternity of every desire being fulfilled and of wanting for absolutely nothing. It had all been rather a lot for her to take in, but as Laura was left to give time to come to terms she had ultimately come to accept it. All of this was too real to be a dream after all. And if she really was dead, well, what could she do about it now?
After taking her time to accept what had happened Laura slowly stood up, moving through the brightly lit doorway that she had been directed to when she was ready, making her final transition to the afterlife, to the eternal paradise that had been promised to her. She still wasn't completely sure that this was real, but real or dream, she wasn't going to just sit around and do nothing, and going through this doorway seemed like the only option available to her. She had to shield her eyes from the light as she passed through, blinking to clear her eyes as it faded, every so slowly lowering her hand, the girl having absolutely no idea what she could or should possibly expect.
