A new era of war erupted when Justinious III publicly executed one of the Keepers of Old, an Elven Librarian who Justinious assumed would have more knowledge of the Relic that sat upon his head. When the Librarian refused to give the King of the Relic what he wanted, Justinious saw it fit to behead him in the square of Humanity's capital city, Praven. The Union of Four reacted viciously, launching a campaign to secure the many burial sites that the Humans had begun excavating for more clues on how to further their immortality. The initial fighting was brutal, many casualties on both sides that only ended in a stalemate. The Armies of Man were called, a counteroffensive was launched, specifically aimed at the kingdoms that had seceded from the Order.
One of the rulers who had rejected the Covenant of Immortality as King of the Relic Justinious had called it, sits at his table with his head in his hands. His name was Venarus of Riverrun, named by his father after the kingdom that he now ruled over. As a newly established vassal of High King Troslg, Venarus had yet to prove himself as worthy enough to sit on the council. With his freshness, none of the Union elected to support his defense against one of the armies that now marched towards his gates. His manor was in the highest place in the city that was made on the side of a mountain to be defensive, an enormous castle-like manor that had a garrison of one thousand soldiers and a thousand guards that patrolled the streets. Venarus was experienced in the art of combat, having fought in the Second War that Humanity had declared when conquering their piece of Eadirene.
The man was only twenty two years of age, his youth was evident on his handsome but scarred face, which he kept clean shaven. He only had a single scar, a reminder of his disloyalty to King Justinious who had struck him with a metal gauntlet when Venarus declared his secession, this scar ran from the top left corner of his lip to the bottom of his left ear. He has a pair of hazel eyes that contain green flecks. He had full eyebrows and his black hair was kept short and well trimmed, as if he knew that he would need to wear a protective helmet. His armor was not decorative, he wore a long black cape that held the golden crest of the Union on the back (A tree with four branches) and armor all the way up to his neck, all metal and well polished, shining in the light that the sun let into his throne room.
His manor contained many rooms, most of them for living purposes but some, such as the throne room to show the royalty of the Manor, the throne room had been recently redecorated with the colors of the Union, black and gold. It held enough room to hold at least one hundred well-armed soldiers, but was not really a defensive position considering it's more decorative purpose. He had been preparing to leave, his personal guard waiting him as he had been summoned to the Dwarven kingdom, to which he had ridden and now stayed in their manor, which compared to his was much fancier and had much more wealth to it. He stands with his guard, his arms crossed.
"Why have you summoned me here, Geralt?" He asks the rule of the Dwarven kingdom.
"Watch your tongue, boy, or have you forgotten that you are still Human despite your change in allegiance?" The dwarf snaps, making Venarus glare at him, he disliked dwarves, they had been one race that had voted to decline him and his people into the Union, the reason that the vote wasn't unanimous and why his people still suffered without support from the Union. "Now, we have summoned someone here for you to meet, the High King has decreed an army be sent into the Human lands, with us at the head.. He hopes to take on the Relic King head on." The dwarf explains. his accent making it a little harder to understand him. "You will meet her and treat her with the upmost respect, otherwise I'll have your balls." He growls, the doors to the manor opening to reveal whomever had been invited on this campaign.
