The carriage ride was more bumpy than he remembered that. The winding road to the manor was so often in disuse, and the man had tried to preoccupy himself with literally anything other than speech. The cart was small intimate, and there for uncomfortable considering the actions he had just gone through, even with the carriage's window open the air was humid and stale.
Nicholas was a recluse, a landowner who stayed away from the town and prefered the tranquility of an estate huddled away from the rest of town. So already he was bad with talking to people, add to that the fact that he was currently playing host to a young woman and he had felt even more awkward.
Add to that the fact that he had bought the girl from a slaves auction and this became the most awkward situation he could imagine.
Nicholas sat in his seat for a long moment looking out the window trying to think of something to say. He looked a the girl who was sitting across from him. Nicholas for his part was wearing his hood, obscuring the dark hair, and blue eyes, but allowing his clean shaven face to be shown, he was probably a haunting figure to most. A man at the age of 45, he was tall, and imposing physically yet mentally unnerved, and trying his best not to show it.
"What's your name." It was the first thing he had said to her the entire time the two had been together, he had bought her nearly three hours ago, and this ride had been taking... much longer than he had remembered it taking. While the two and their driver had set out at noon, the sun was now looking like it would become a more dim orange as it dipped behind the mountains.
