Finally it was Friday, and Xander was damned thankful for it. School was tough at the best of times, but this last week in particular had been really stressful. The whole school was usually sport obsessed, whilst Xander had little interest, which made him a bit of an outcast. Ontop of that he didn't have any friends to share his disinterest with, and just to top it all off it wasn't like he had a loving family to go home to, instead he just had a foster family waiting for him who, whilst never mistreated him, weren't hugely invested in him either. Doing an adequate job of raising him was a paycheck, beyond that they left him to his own devices. Normally he could handle it all, but this past week school had been rougher than normal. Tests, sports meets, crackdowns on anything against school rules, all of it put students on edge and that made Xander a more tempting target than ever. He didn't get beaten up or anything, but he was the one people would scream at, vent their verbal frustrations on like some kind of audio punchbag. For some reason everyone found it rather therapeutic, everyone but Xander at least, but he lacked the backbone to do much beyond stand there and take it. Fortunately he was now on his way back from school to at least have some kind of escape.
After all that though, Xander needed something, a treat of some kind. How long had it been since he'd had something sweet? Something freshly made by someone who cared what they were doing and put their heart into it? God he couldn't even remember. Damnit, now his mouth was watering, he was craving some kind of sweet treat, but the town only had chain stores, places that only got mass produced baked goods, things that would never satisfy the sweet tooth he had right now.
But as Xander walked down the street something caught his....nose. A sweet scent, an aroma that screamed to his senses to follow. Well, who was he to argue? With a lick of his lips Xander eagerly followed his nose, gradually tracing the scent until he stood outside of a storefront he didn't recognise, a confused expression on his face. "Wait....was this always here?" Xander looked at the bakery and tilted his head slightly. He'd swear this place hadn't been here even earlier this week. No way a bakery could set up and open that fast was there? But yet here it was, right infront of him, and no way he was imagining the sweet delicious aromas coming from within.
"Well, what the hey?" Xander licked his lips before walking into the bakery, glancing around. Everything on display looked so delicious, it was impossible for him to choose what he might treat himself too. Well, maybe whoever worked here could recommend something. "Hello?" Xander called out, though wasn't able to tear his eyes away from the sweet baked treats infront of him. "Is someone here?"
