The sea be a vast and mysterious place. Dangers lurk in the deep places of the world, and no man knows the true dangers that lie upon the waves. There be monsters in the depths aye, but more dangerous may be the ones that are only spoke of in hushed whispers, for above the waves they can hear ye, even from the safety of the shore. Woe to ye who falls into their clutches and heeds the call.
So say the tales on the docks of the mysterious voices that can sometimes be heard singing from the ocean mists. It may be possible to turn from temptation with a full larder and known goal in your mind. Perhaps a the memory of a sweetheart back home on the docks can save ye. But what happens when the call comes and you're starving? With the ship adrift and you down to your last rope? Could the call be resisted then?
------------------
The idea for this story is that a pirate crew is derelict in the ocean and near done for when they hear the song of the sirens. True to the legends their voices are enthralling and the crew is drawn to them, heedless of their impending doom. One man on the crew however is able to fight back and maintain his senses. Being a musician he does the only thing he can to try and fight back and keep himself, and everyone else alive, He challenges their best to a duel.
The terms are simple his voice and guitar vs her voice and her choice of instrument. If he can either break his crew free from her song, or through sheer skill and passion impress her, he wins the contest and they have to let the ship and crew go, and guide them safely to land. Should he fail to do so however, he loses and will submit to whatever their desires are. Which way will it go?
I'll be assuming the role of the pirate for this story. Pm me if interested.
