The Republic has fallen. Thousands of generations of relative peace collapsed in a single moment, by the thunderous applause of thousands of delegates in the Galactic Senate, led by the voice of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, self-proclaimed Emperor of the First Galactic Empire.

As planetary systems fall, one after another, to the Empire’s war campaign, some beings find a relative peace of their own. Smugglers across the galaxy align themselves with either the Imperials or the budding Rebellion, using their heavily modified ships to carry cargo for both sides of the conflict, some even dying for the different causes.

One particular ship, a heavily modified Dynamic-class freighter under the designation Lucky Hand, seems to hang in the balance, running cargoes for both the Rebellion and the Empire. You are part of the crew, assisting in the rising conflict between the Rebels and Imperials.

Name
Species (human or near-human only, please!)
Occupation and skill set before becoming a smuggler
Description and/or Face claim
Force sensitive Y/N
- if yes, any training? Doesn’t just have to be Jedi or Sith training... there are many other schools out there.
How did they join the Lucky Hand’s crew?

EDIT 4/10/2018: updated the picture for the Lucky Hand so that it no longer is the same color scheme as the Ebon Hawk

Name: Kameron Brenner
Species: Corellian human
Sex: M
Age: 23 standard years
Occupation before becoming a smuggler: Gambler, also how he came across the Lucky Hand in the first place
Skill set: high luck due to his being Force-sensitive, excellent aim with any sort of blaster or projectile launcher, hand-to-hand combat
Description: about 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall, sandy blond hair, green eyes, fair skin. Usual attire consists of a white shirt, dark blue pants, a black leather jacket, black leather boots, and his gun belt. He’s typically armed with his trusty blaster pistol, a collapsible vibroblade, and a personal comlink.
Force sensitive: yes. No training, and he doesn’t even realize that he is
Crew: He’s the captain of the Lucky Hand, having won the old ship in a similar manner to Han Solo’s winning the Milennium Falcon in a sabacc tournament. However, Kameron won the ship in a pazaak tournament on Coruscant. It wasn’t the only thing he won from the tournament- the former captain had offered a Twi’lek girl earlier on in the tournament, during another hand that Kameron won. The rest of the Lucky Hand’s crew joined up later...

Name: Nykei
Species: Corellian Human
Sex: F
Age 25
Skill Set: Top notch pilot. Decent mechanic and knows her way around a blaster.
Description: 5'9", medium dark skin, blue eyes. Short red hair in a choppy cut. She favors tight pants, tank tops, and short jackets. Her right arm was amputated just below the elbow, and she has a white and blue prosthetic. It has many cool features that assist in her mechanical pursuits, as well as a spare weapon in a pinch.
Force Sensitive: Nope.
Backstory: Grew up a junkrat on Corellia, stealing vehicles for scrap. At fourteen, she stole a swoop bike from a wealthy race manager, who pursued her close behind. For nearly two, hours she led him on a chase through the city, until she ran out of fuel. In lieu of pressing charges, he offered her a position on his racing team. For two years (until she could get a license) she raced in underground illegal races and made her debut on the amateur circuit at 16. By 20, she was racing professionally and became the youngest person to win the Canto Bight Grand Prix. This, however, would be her downfall, because a major crime boss had bet on one of her opponents to win. In her next race, he extorted a racer to clip her bike, causing the collision that cost her right arm and her confidence. Since then she's done minor smuggling work.

Crew: Kameron asked her to join up, since he was a fan of hers. She's not doing anything better these days, so why not?

Name: Jiljoo Ryo
Species: Twi'lek
Sex: F
Age: 20
Skill Set: Exotic Dancer, Mischief, a fair cook if one doesn't ask much about ingredients. She has been busy cooking and cleaning to ready the Lucky Hand for her its first crew.
Description: 5'8" with her lekku pulled down, slender but curvy and very graceful. A soft blue complexion that many find soothing. A musical voice, a bright and intelligent gaze, and an eager curiosity about everything around her.
Force Sensitive: Unknown.
Jiljoo is secretive and the only thing her current 'owner' knows of her is that she was a highly skilled exotic dancer. Her former owner who seemed rather eager to be rid of her, complained of mischief and sabotage that he was certain was her handiwork but could never quite figure out how she could get out her cage. He teased Kameron about her being his problem now, though it may have also been an attempt to buy her back (at a discount of course). Despite being given her freedom, she still refers to the Captain as "Master Brenner" in a musical voice and a playful but adoring smile. She has however worked hard getting his new and somewhat neglected ship ready, at least as far as the galley and crew quarters go.

Name: Larasen
Species Human, though claims to have some Durese and Sullustan blood
Sex: Male
Age:
Skill Set: Droid technician. Larasen is familiar with the construction, programming, and maintenance of droids, and is extremely good at it. He has no noteworthy secondary skills, aside from keen hearing.
Description: 5'11," lean build and dark brown hair, short and usually unkempt. He's a bit of an over-prepared typed, tends to keep a wide variety of small tools, energy cells, various adapters, and discs of basic programs in his many packets. He carries an ion blaster in case working with a combat droid goes awry.
Force sensitive: Not even a bit
How did they join the Lucky Hand’s crew? (Pending)

Name: Alythra Tann
Species: Zeltron
Sex: Always
Age: 21
Skill Set: Well educated in psychology and medicine, as well as etiquette and diplomacy. With her political contacts, she can get fellow mercs out of minor legal troubles.
Description: 5'7", and very cuvry, favoriting loose, flowy and revealing dresses, with reddish pink skin and indigo hair that she often wears down.
Force Sensitive: Yes. Her skills are in healing, empathic feedback and force suggestion.
Crew: Alytha's position as a Zeltron envoy gives the crew a legitimate reason to be wherever their job takes them. An excuse to visit both Rebel and Imperial worlds (since Zeltros is neutral in the conflict) and to get meetings with mid level personnel. She's decided to stick with the crew, because she can sense they all really need her help to better themselves, and give up their lives of crime. She will save them, whether they like it or not.

Special: Alythra is a complete pacifist, refuses to carry a weapon and will always intervene to prevent violence by any means she possesses. If attacked, she would only evade, and try to talk (and force suggestion) her attacker down.

Name: Baronet Sevastian tel-Florindel Sergovia Organa-Nahal.
Species: Human (Alderanian)
Occupation and skill set before becoming a smuggler: Aristocrat, Gentleman Thief, Pirate Captain, Gambler.
Description and/or Face claim: Sevastian is a tall, sandy-blonde man in his early thirties, with aquamarine eyes and a warm smile that may or may not be genuine. He tends to wear grey, favoring knee-high boots and long coats when working, but always makes an effort to dress for the occasion.
Force sensitive: Not particularly. The Organs-Nahal family has many Force-sensitives in their history, but he isn’t one of them. He tested a little higher than average when examined, but nowhere near high enough to meet even the minimum requirements for the Jedi Order.
Backstory: Sevastian is the last surviving member of a disgraced Alderanian family of the lesser nobility - nobles enjoy certain degree of scandal, but siding with the Seperatists during the Clone War was a little much, and they were stripped of most of their lands and holdings after the previous Baronet, Aldane, was executed by a Jedi Knight. What little remained was spent supporting and educating Sevastian in hopes that he would restore the honor of his line. Instead, he set out on a series of increasingly criminal ventures in pursuit of wealth. He’s still welcome among the galactic aristocracy, at least in certain circles where his notoriety gives him a certain cachet, but he’s equally at home with the criminal underclass. He is currently between jobs, as a disagreement with the crew if his pirate cruiser over division of spoils ended up with the new captain setting him adrift in an escape pod.
How did he join the crew: (Pending confirmation) Jilljoo heard he was around and recommended him to Kameron.

Medical Droid:
CZ-Series Secretary Droid: Medical droids are extremely difficult to come by, as even the obsolete ones still have high demand and there is little risk in selling them to even possible rebel groups. Protocol droids, however, are the opposite in both respects. For one, the Empire upgrades them quite frequently, their superior officers associating newer models with prestige. Secondly, any protocol droid would have memories of classification protocols, which even a memory wipe could leave intact, so there is both little demand for them relative to inventory, plus only a small member of potential customers eligible to purchase them. Larasen took advantage of that and reprogrammed one of these cast off administrative droids to be a medical assistant. It lacks the fine motor skills to actually perform the surgeries, but has extensive medical knowledge, as well as a bit of cultural information still remaining.

Guard Droid:
Automata Galactica Municipal Patrol Droid Mark 1:
A lot of firepower in a small frame, but also very frail. The Mk 1s require frequent maintenance, are ill-suited to a number of environments, and can be taken down with a single blaster shot. Larasen bought one as they are famously unobtrusive, and a pair of shots from one can do quite a bit of damage. Not the most imposing droid, but a great way to ensure that a ship has some form of defense when the crew is gone, and pretty cheap, too.

Name: Lieutenant Kara Starglow
Species: Human
Age: 31
Sex: F
Skill Set: Well connected in the Imperial Customs Office, Good Planner, Thinks Well under Pressure but can be a bit uptight. Not likely to want to get her hands dirty or risk physical injury or exposure.
Description: 5' 6" Busty and a little soft from her physically non-demanding work. Favors regulation but well tailored uniforms that enhance her appearance, usually with a short skirt rather than pants.
Force Sensitivity: None apparent.
Role: Kara is obviously playing for her own benefit in her role as a customs officer. Likely going to be a secondary but recurring character.

Name: Inrokini’kita’viv (Nikita)
Species: Chiss
Occupation before becoming a smuggler: Imperial Officer (ISB-S, from SAGroup)
Skill set: All things mechanic, technology, and computer, but primarily she is a "slicer", a hacker to slip into secure systems and get friendly with programs to droids and AI's. This is more than just a skill or a job, this is her life... But she was trained as a commando too, her precision and clever use of technology making her a very good sniper. She learned to ride, drive, and pilot, and also trained her body to be good at acrobatics, but only good in athletics because her fittness and dexterity... close combat is not really her forte.
Description: Looks like - and considered - an adult (21+) because her race, but she is only 15 in years. She has deep blue skin (easily darkens with more oxygen), silvery stresses in dark purple hair, crimson red eyes (almost violet if too much CO2), lean, 55kg (110lbs), 165cm, (5'5")
A voyeuristic virgin "damsel in distress" droid sub (even if it is her who have to program the droid just right...)
Force sensitive: No
How did they join the Lucky Hand’s crew? Good question. Answered later.

Nikita’s greater family would have been two of the old leading ones, if the Chiss Ascendancy hadn’t lost those colony words to the Swarm. Her parents was thus not born at their ancestral home, but a new enclave with other home and system less Chiss. What was more, her parents somehow became the black sheeps of their families. While her father was ascendant from Grand Admiral Thrawn … he never reached higher prestige but to be the aide of an officer. He kept all of the Great Admiral’s worse qualities, missing his finer points. No surprise that he was not able to get into the upper crust of Chiss society. Choosing a well known lower class entertainer as his mate just made him more of an outcast.

Nikita’s mother had notable ancestry too. One of her ancestors – doing the same as she grown up to do, entertaining – was the lover of one Lando Calrissian. The two even had a child, an outstanding oddity among the xenophobic Chiss, never able to climb the social ladder. It also meant that Nikita’s mother came from a line of entertainers, but while some would call them artists or actress, others still kept referring to what they was doing as being exotic dancers, call girls, or just plainly escorts… Her mother died at the birth of her little brother when she was six years old.

When her father was reassigned with his broken family to an Imperial outpost, he started to take out his frustrations on the children… And got them a stepmother or two along the way. Being among the few Chiss children she had to go to school with mainly humans, but one or two other race’s young too. They put her into class for her age on her papers, not seeing that she was more mature and off the charts intelligent. No surprise that she soon found herself changing schools. Nikita was also home schooled a little more and studying a lot on her own too. At least her little brother do not had to have problems with school, as he was considered too young – while already learning like a Chiss at home with the help of the Library link back to their homeworld. Still not a full access, but at least a possible source for downloadable material of all kind.

Lon Monna was a near human Assassin / Bounty Hunter living a solitary life in one corner of Neyok City among the non-natives. His work coming from a shady man called Toanny. Lon spent his idle time engaging in calisthenics, nurturing a houseplant, and watching old vids. One day, Lon, the hitman (or cleaner, as he referred to himself) sees Nikita, seemingly a twelve year-old dark skinned girl who is smoking a cigarette and sporting a bloodied black eye. But that she was moping, that was more easier to spot because her perpetually red eyes. Nikita lived with her dysfunctional family next doors. Her abusive father and self-absorbed stepmother have not noticed that she stopped attending class at her new Imperial school for troubled girls. Her father attracted the ire of corrupt Imperial agents, who have been paying him to stash contraband in their apartment. After they discover he has been using and keeping some for himself, the agents storm the building, led by the sharply dressed drug addict Chiss Norstan, who, during the raid, becomes unhinged and murders Nikita’s entire family one by one while she is out shopping for groceries. When she returns, she realizes what has happening just in time to continue down the street, where she desperately knocks on her neighbour's door. A hesitant Lon gives her shelter.

Nikita quickly discovers that Lon is a hitman. She begs him to take care of her and to teach her his skills, as she wants to avenge the murder of her four-year-old brother. At first, Lon is unsettled by her presence. He even almost kills her in her sleep, possibly out of mercy, but cannot bring himself to do it. The next morning, Lon tries to throw her out, but she claims that, because he saved her life the previous day, he is now responsible for her, stating that she would be dead by the end of the day if he threw her out and it would be like he had never opened the door for her. She begs him to train her as a "cleaner", demonstrating her willingness to learn by taking Lon's interesting blaster and firing randomly onto the street outside his open window. She is surprised as the weapon is an archaic slug thrower… Reluctantly, Lon trains Nikita and shows her how to use various weapons. In return, she runs his errands, cleans his apartment, and teaches him how to use the GalaxyNet. She soon catches Lon with a woman, and starts stalking the man as he takes out his sexual frustration on different females, mutually satisfying or paying for it. She tells Lon she loves him several times, but he offers no response.

One day, after she has learned how to shoot, Nikita fills a bag with pistols and rifles from Lon's collection and sets out to kill Norstan. She bluffs her way into the Imperial office by posing as a delivery girl, only to be ambushed by Norstan in a bathroom. She learns from Norstan that Lon killed one of the corrupt agents in another part of the town that morning. Lon, after discovering her plan in a note left for him, rescues Nikita, shooting two more of Norstan's men in the process. A now enraged Norstan goes to find Toanny, and assaults him in order to find out where Lon is.

When Nikita returns home from grocery shopping, a team sent by Norstan captures her and attempts to infiltrate Lon's apartment. Lon ambushes the team and grabs her. Back in his apartment, Lon creates a quick escape for her by smashing a hole in an air shaft. He reassures her and tells her that he loves her and that she has given him "a taste for life", moments before the police come for him. In the chaos that follows, Lon sneaks out of the building disguised as a wounded officer. He goes unnoticed save for Norstan, who recognizes him, follows him and shoots him in the back. As he is dying, Lon places an object in Norstan's hands that he says is "from Nikita". Opening his hands, Norstan discovers that it is the cover from a grenade. He then opens Lon's vest to find a cluster of active grenades, which detonate moments later, killing them both.

She heads to see Toanny, as Lon had instructed her to do before he died. Toanny reveals to Nikita that Lon instructed him to give his money to her if anything happened to him. He offers to hold the money and provide it to her on an allowance basis, on account of her youth. When she asks Toanny to give her a job as a hitman; Toanny angrily and adamantly refuses to hire a ten year old girl, even if she looks thirteen, telling Nikita to forget about her ordeal and return to school. She meets with the school headmistress, who readily admits her after Nikita tells her what had happened in the past several weeks and if the headmistress does not help her now, she would be dead by the end of the day. Nikita then walks into a field near the school to plant Lon's houseplant, as she had told Lon he should, to give it roots.

The school is for the up and coming Imperial Army, with the help of the few Chiss from their Expansionary Defense Force. They train the „girl” for scouting and computer infiltration, nurturing her skills with weapons, as she is without her family - as her father has been exiled before she was born, and he is also dead, there was no contact with her real mother’s family - they being from a lower class with mixed lineage anyway. Her stepmothers’ relatives could not be counted upon either, with the lack of lawful connection…

Nikita soon realises that while her race as a whole would never attack first, nor would the individuals start attacking others, most of the families was under the pressure to provide soldiers for the newly arisen Sith Empire – even if they would became high ranking officers, they still had to go fight for the Sith, or possibly lose everything.

Her self proclaimed job was clear, take out the trash, those individuals who greatly went against the Chiss code of conduct… Warmongers, war criminals, and their Imperial Sith Superior. With diligent studying and work, she finished her schooling and training, secretly taking out one bad Chiss after another. Her only hobby and family being the animals she learned to ride around the compound and area. Soon she had to leave the system with the outpost, and start looking around the galaxy for more. She had an opportunity to get chosen for future training and taken onboard the Sith Counsellor's warship with other future Imperial officers.

She reprogrammed numerous droids and robots and computers until succeeding in orchestrating an accident, where the Sith’s personal transport was locked onto a docking vector, just to get in the way of a misfiring ion cannon. Nikita made sure to be ready with her ancient slug thrower to put the dot on the cabin window, and like any sufficiently strong micro meteorite, the special projectile damaged the material enough without further notice. Looking into the eyes of the Sith, she sent slug after slug into the cracked armor, the energy dissipating tiles not able to shrug off the ancient weapon. Without a working shield the Sith soon found himself in space – but protected by the big ship’s force fields. He was immediately engulfed in the helping arms of a rescue droid. Keeping the Sith steady and supplied with air and traction, he was starting to retaliate when he realised that the droid kept him really safe… as its safety protocols malfunctioned and flow them straight into the smaller ships automatically restarting engines cone of exhaust.

No surprise Nikita broke away as soon as possible – with the help of a less than officially approved Interrogator droid -, before the inquiry and detective work would successfully incriminate her. She was lucky enough to run into an undercover Jedi coming to discover the cause for the high ranking Sith’s demise. They worked together to appropriate some new tech prototypes being worked on onboard the warship… She got herself a new shiny weapon and „saved” the quirky droid too.
