"Okay no need to be nervous"

He repeated that to himself like a mantra as he moved through the large convention hall. His large finger reached up pushing the black framed glasses up his tan nose as he checked his map and schedule of the convention once more. He bit his full bottom lip making sure he was heading to the right place before sighing in relief.

"Okay okay" Rex Devroe said reaching up and running a hand through his black hair "It's just your first anime convention. Nothing to be nervous about! It's just meeting people you respect and admire and talking to them"

He drew a shaky breath and looked down at his nice button T shirt and Jeans. His friends would no doubt find it hilarious that the large broad shouldered man looked so nervous. He didn't look like an anime nerd! With his broad shoulders towering frame and jade green eyes.

Which was why they weren't here.

"Exhibit hall A" Rex reminded looking at the map once more "Should be right.... here!"

He looked up noting the exhibit hall and sighing in relief. He moved into the line and after thirty minutes of reading he was ushered into the hall with everyone else. The presentation was already set up and he admired the people assembled before his eyes landed on one girl at the very end.

"Shit!" Rex said moving away from his chair and towards the stage. He clambered up ignoring the more popular artist and voice actors for the ebony goddess at the end of the table. He stopped in front of her and paused long enough to pull a manga DVD out of his messenger back and place it in front of her.

"I am... you're number one fan!" He told her flashing her a large smile.

Sarah sighed as she looked around at the convention, since she was VIP guest she had a bit of a discount when it came for buying stuff which was nice. She looked at many people with costumes a lot of which she made the os for which made her smile. The team she was working at was here as well spread around some of them recognized and signing autographs. She sighed happily as she had a bag of stuff she bought and perhaps she could put in her youtube channel. The bad thing about it was that she could not release any music that did not appeared on an episode already so she was restrained.

Her phone buzzed and she was told that the meeting was starting. She walked over to the stage where they fixed her up with some cookies and a bottle of water. Ten minutes later it began, she answered the questions she could answer and was very attentive towards the fans which was why she was able to work on the first place. Moving her hair back she looked at most people just go to the artists or the voice actors and then go away she was a bit happy this way at least she wasn't as famous as the others which meant she could do her stuff in peace.

Before she could say anything a manga was placed on the table in front of her and a man asked her to signed it. Giving him a honest smile she nodded and signed her name and under it placed her personal phone number just in case, who knew perhaps she could get something out of this even if it was just a friendship.

While she signed it he broke into an animated discussion about her works and which were his favorite. Rex didn't mind gushing and was quick to give her praise for some of her more high profile work and smaller stuff. Once she was done he thanked her several times before taking it back.

"This really means-" He paused rereading the number on the manga before glancing back up at her.

"You gave me your number" He said tapping it "Why?"

He mentally kicked himself for questioning and instead looked up at the clock. He noted that the convention was going to be closing down soon and turned back to her.

"Do you want to go get something to drink?" He asked her raising an eyebrow.

"Sure... hang on" she stood up and said some stuff on the ears of her co-workers before nodding. "Lead the way" she said as she went back to Rex before smiling. "Sorry these things are aweful sometimes where you sit hours and hours and nobody goes to you. First person who actually recognized my work so why not get to know that person" she smiled and looked at the time once before nodding. "Mmmm how about a big hamburger, I know a local place I go to that serves the best hamburger with fries ever!".

"I don't know how any one could not know your work" He said practically gushing as he moved out of the convention hall "I mean your stuff is legendary!"

He realized he was practically jump up and down and tried to keep himself composed. He forced himself to walk slowly moving one foot in front of the other as he followed her out of the convention hall. When she mentioned the burger place he nodded his head up and down.

"I would love to" He said smiling at her "Lead the way to the burger place!"

Sarah nodded and began walking out of the convention with her bag of gooddies on her hand. She got on her car which was a pretty old vintage car but fully restored (one of the first Camaros) getting in she turned the car on hearing the car rev up and come to life. Grinning she waited for him to get in before driving out and into downtown LA which she knew was the bad part of town but there was no better place to eat than at that restaurant. Stopping in front of what appeared to be a truck made into a restaurant she smiled and got out walking inside the place and waving at an old man behind the counter, "Hey Rick... two of the usual".

She finally sat down and stretched her back finally she appeared to be on her place, she seemed relaxed. Finally looking at her new friend she smiled and nodded, "So tell me about yourself? where do you work at? what kind of stuff do you like to do on your free time?".
