Lena had just arrived at camp. She wanted to be early since she was so excited to go for the first time, but as luck would have it she was actually late. She ended up missing the sort of pre-orientation socializing. Really it was just the campers talking with each other before the camp actually started, but it was still something she looked forward to. Since she missed it, she was extremely eager to find out who she was bunking with. She planned to chat with her as long as she possibly could, hopefully making her first camp friend. And probably getting in trouble along the way, but that was half the fun.
She tried to silently join the large group of campers, however the councilor wasn't having it. She piped up so every last person could hear her and then drew attention to her outright.
Councilor-Well, looks like we've got a late comer eh? Get lost on your way here newbie?
"Uhm. No. M-ma'am. It was...a lot of stuff happened, i'm sorry."
The other campers had their laugh, the councilor just letting out a little smirk and chuckle as she continued on announcing the boarding arrangements. This camp, since it wasn't dealing with enormous amounts of campers like less...specific summer camps would, they could actually split the campers into groups of 2. Of course so long as the curfew was obeyed, they didn't really mind groups of 4 or 5 friends doubling up, assuming they behaved of course.
All the campers got their pairings, the people who were already friends hugging or high fiving if they got paired up, and the strangers trying to find their partners as well. Which, was exactly what Lena was doing, shouting her partner's name as she didn't know ANYONE at the camp. It'd be embarrassing if half the camp wasn't doing the same. The down side of that being, it was kinda hard to hear. So Lena had one of her bright ideas and let out a loud and high pitched whistle. That certainly got EVERYONE'S attention. If that didn't make it easier to find her bunkmate, nothing would.
"Uhm...Heheh....I'm Lena.....Just, looking for my bunkmate...Heh"
Her blushing face and embarrassed body language, hands entwined behind her back and a sway in the hips, along with a little kick to the dirt, made her look more adorable than her personality and actions had thus far.
