Hey! How are you? I hope well. My name is Anathema but I go by Ana. I'm a long-term RPer and an avid writer. I'm seeking only a new RP. If you are interested in RPing with me, I want something super romantic, where the characters can fall into a passionate love for one another. <3 Something fun and an adventure.
About Me
I am a female, in real life. Not like that matters but whatever. You'll find that I'm an experienced and descriptive paragraph writer and I appreciate a RP partner that will put some effort into their posts. I find that RPs build off each others' posts. If you give me one line, you haven't given me much to work with... If you're stuck, let me know out of character and we'll brainstorm. Please try not make me carry the entire story. I can but it's not that much fun for me. It's our RP not just mine, where you happen to play a character in the world that I control. So, that brings me to storylines. The storyline of a RP is very important to me. I love developing characters and seeing how they interact with each other. I like fleshing out their feelings. I'm a romantic at heart. Yes, smut is fun but if there's no story behind it, you're not going to get my best work because I won't have any emotions to pour into it. Like the difference between vanilla ice cream and a hot fudge sundae with extra cherries on top. Hehe.
Note: So, I understand RL things happen as well. If you have to drop the RP or wait, that's fine. I may drop you a note to check on you and I'd appreciate the same if you haven't heard from me in a day or so. Unfortunately, I have a lot of anxiety and sometimes, it gets to be a little much or RL crap just gets in the way.
The Characters That I can Play
Well, this one is a broad topic. I can play submissive or more dominant characters. Also a mix between the two. Female or male. For this RP, I would like to play a female. Species is quite open for me. I'm equally comfortable playing humans, monsters, supernaturals, goddesses, nekos, anthros and ferals. So, if you have a preference, just let me know. I am more than comfortable playing OC characters as well. My opinion toward OC characters is that either player in the RP can play them.
The Characters That I'm Hoping That you Play
I'm hoping for a bit of a confident, strong yet kind male. One that feels independent and doesn't need anyone at his side until his opinion changes when he ends up falling for my character. Of course, this is your character, I'm just tossing out there that strength of character is attractive to me. You know, they are your characters. So nevermind, surprise me!
Story Settings
I'm a fan of medieval, Victorian and futuristic settings. I want to write a story that is beyond our current reality. Of course, this can be done in our current settings with some more broader pairing ideas. Slice of life does nothing for me at all. Typically, I grow bored fast.

Bandit's Run
I can see this story either have a feel like Robin Hood or Zorro. Either way really. So, YC and his family have been robbed of their land and riches, which they have had for ages, due to the government doing some pretty shady things. Your family's ranch(or castle) has been sold off to a new family while you are left with smaller holdings nearby. YC starts leading these raiding parties on the local rich families that were empowered by the government to help those poorer. By night, YC is a bandit/outlaw and by day, he is an aristocrat, who has bloodties but no real wealth left to call his own. YC attends a fancy dinner party at your old home, which is now owned by MC's family. YC & MC meet and instantly feel an attraction between them as they dance and talk. The night comes and they have to say good bye. MC's family would never give YC a chance to court MC just due to your lack of wealth. Well, YC goes off on another raid that night and his trusted brother leads half the posse out to rustle some of the livestock from MC's home. MC goes out to stop them and your brother ends up carrying MC off into the night. YC is the leader though and gets pick of the raid spoils including MC.
For the Horde
This is a story about orcs. My character is a female orc and daughter of the chief. She is in line to take over after her father is gone. Your character is a slave of the tribe bought from a trader (can be human or whatever race that you want.) MC teases yours mercilessly just because she can but it's to mask a strange affection that she feels for him (which she doesn't realize until later.) The tribe has a rule that if one can go through the trials of strength, they become a warrior accepted by the tribe. YC decides to challenge that and make a go of it. There is no law in their tribe against a slave trying to be accepted by the tribe and thus earn his freedom. But he has to chose a wife once he's become a warrior and wouldn't it be delicious to force his tormentor to be with him? Yet to marry a female orc, a male must beat her in combat. That is where the challenge lies. So, perhaps your character has gained knowledge of magic or found an artifact to help them gain the upper edge, whatever you can think of.
Twist of Fate
This story is about a prince and a princess of neighboring kingdoms. They are childhood friends and see each other rarely but often exchange letters to keep in touch. On the princess' thirteenth birthday, she invites her female friends over for a grand party. The prince's sister is attending the celebration but mysteriously, she is killed during the event. The death goes unsolved despite everyone's best efforts to find the fiend, who did her in. Relations between their two countries begin to break down. There are whispers from the prince's country that the murder was done as an act of war by the princess' country. That suspicion only festers. When the prince takes the crown, he invades their country taking it over after a long and bloody battle. The princess that he'd refused to stay in touch with despite all her attempts to contact her friend is made his bride as the final act of vengeance against her country. It is not a marriage of love but revenge. It's meant to shame her. It's meant to dishearten her people. The prince's heart has grown cold and bitter from the loss of his sister but his childhood friend, the princess, still has hope that the boy that she knew is still in the cold-hearted man that she now has to call her husband. Can love find a way between them? Will they find out what happened to his sister?
The Sacrifice
This is the story of a god and goddess in love. The goddess dies and the god can't let her go. So, he sacrifices half of his power to save her soul allowing her to be reborn as a human. He watches over her day after day from afar until one day they meet but she doesn't know him at all. It's too painful not to be recognized and he tries to push her away but memories of her past life come back to her slowly. She looks just like his lost love but she is not the same person. Can they fall in love again?
RockStar
My char is a rockstar. She's got it all: fame, glory, rich, famous, beautiful, adoring fans, men falling all over her, you name it! Your character got dragged along to this concert with a friend. Well, the friend has a sign that says, 'Marry Me' on it and that sign gets shoved into your char's hands when the friend has to excuse herself. MC sees the sign that he's holding, calls him up on stage and actually marries him on the spot. Thus their thrown together. Was it a PR ploy? Or was there some other reason behind her taking him up on his offer? Can anything good actually come from this?
The Rescue
A princess has been promised to a neighboring kingdom as part of an arranged marriage to help form an alliance. On her way there, there's a coup that happens and the knights that were sworn to protect her betray her except for one. This one is loyal and helps her escape into the woods. They run as long and as hard as they can but the princess isn't used to the woods nor is she used to being alone with a man. Will they find love with each other in the woods while they flee from those pursuing them? What happens when she has to return to the real world from their secret retreat in the woods?
Spirit Dreams
This is an older Western type themed story with cowboys and Indians (Native Americans.) YC was crossing the country via stagecoach when the coach is attacked by a band of bandits. Everyone save YC died in the raid but are badly wounded. YC wakes intermittently to feverish glimpses of the sky, being moved and a strange blonde-haired woman with feathers in her hair. MC is the blonde woman, daughter of a Cherokee and French trapper. She found YC and brought him back to her village to nurse back to health. YC & MC fall for each other but there's a problem as YC is not the only man that has his eye on MC.
Night Rider
In a world where only males are allowed to be fighters, MC plays a fighter that has gone legendary due to her skills only no one knows that she is a female. Her country is at war with the country to the North. The day has finally come where the kingdom has fallen and the enemy is invading the capital. MC is hired to get YC out (I picture him as someone important whether that be royalty, scientist or sorcerer. Someone that is vital to the continuation of their country.) They escape together but along the way, he discovers her secret. Will he still trust her to help him win back the country? Or will he kill her for the treason that it is for a female to fight?
The Betrayal
This is a story about a kidnapping. MC is either going to be a rockstar or a sorceress (depending on what time period that we decide to go with.) YC is hired to get rid of mine because they're in the way. She's hard to get close to and waiting for the right moment to do the deed is hard too. Her trust has to be earned in order to be in the right position to make a move and then when the perfect opportunity comes, YC hesitates. There's something about MC that just intrigues him to the point, where instead of killing her, he just ends up kidnapping her instead because he knows that if he doesn't finish the job that he was hired to do, someone else will.
The Ghost
(This one has interchangeable roles for YC/MC. So whichever you prefer.) MC is a ghost that haunts a castle. A few generations after her demise, she's still there. Few people even remember her. A newcomer (YC) came to the castle and for some reason, he can see MC. It freaks MC out. They keep running into one another and she starts to grow curious of him and why he can see her. There's a dark plot afoot and MC ends up helping YC. They start talking and start growing attached to eachother but there's still the glaring problem that she's a ghost and he's not. Would he die to be with her or will they continue on like they enjoying what they can?
The Ice Queen
A girl from our modern day is thrown into a medieval fantasy world of magic and mystical beings. She has no idea where she is nor what is going on. In this world, the terror of the land, the Ice Queen, was defeated many years ago but there's a problem. The girl (MC) looks exactly like the Ice Queen. So people are mistaking her for the evil queen and are fearing that the Queen has come back to finish what she started with conquering their lands so long ago. Eventually, MC is thrown in the dungeon and she has little hope that anyone will believe her that she is not this Ice Queen. Nor does she know how to get back home but the minions of the evil Queen have heard about her and now they are trying to steal her away. Their purpose is still unknown but war is on the horizon. (This one is very open for whatever type of character that you'd like to play: knight, lord, magician, magical creature, etc.)
The Wrong Bride
This is a story of deception. An arranged marriage happens between a prince and princess to create an alliance. They have never met before the day of their wedding. The issue is that the princess has disappeared before her wedding. Panicking on starting an international incident, the king sends the kingdom's sorceress to take the princess' place. The sorceress is to create an illusion of the princess and take her place until the real princess can be found. Then the two will be swapped back out. Will the prince figure out that his bride is really an imposter? Only time will tell.
The Last of her Kind
MC's people have been conquered over a land squabble. All of them hunted down and eliminated save one. MC was the queen of her people and stood proudly beside her king. She fought with them every inch of the way and watched them die. For some reason, she was kept alive and brought before the leader of the conquering people as a tribute. She tries to attack him despite her bonds and the leader decides to auction her off to whoever may want her in the courtroom that day since she's so much trouble. Who would step up for her? Will they keep her alive and break her? Or will she be shown that not all of them are the savages that her people believed them to be? Why was she kept alive? For selfish reasons or was there a touch of destiny there?
Broken Toy
This is the story of a pretty little Neko girl (MC) that ran away from her cruel master. Somehow, she ends up at YC's doorstep and YC takes her in. Nekos in this story are genetically engineered creatures produced at the request of their purchaser. They are considered sub-class citizens and have little to no rights. MC is initially afraid due to the bad experiences that she had but she can come around if YC is kind and patient. This would be a sweet pet story. Can YC mend the broken toy's heart
Trapped
The scene is high in the Scottish highlands. MC is a lady that was married off to make peace between two clans. Yet, her husband sees her still as an enemy treating her cruel to her to the point of abuse. Yet, there's nothing that she can do for fear or breaking the truce. YC has been taken prisoner and is being neglected in captivity. MC fights to look after him and somehow she is allowed to. She's afraid of him but she still finds the courage to see to his needs. YC convinces MC to help him escape but he can't leave her behind.
Monster Hunter
(Interchangeable roles on the chars) YC is a paranormal hunter, who's been tasked with hunting down a particular monster, who's been causing trouble for a local village. He treks off into the village, where he comes across a beautiful woman. She offers to go along with him to help. Only thing is that the monster that he's hunting take human form. So, it's actually his companion. What will happen when that is revealed? Will he complete his mission or let her live?
Hellfire
It's medieval times and a large war has engulfed most of the world. The bloodshed and rage opened the gates of Hell long enough for something to crawl it's way out. A demon (or some kind of beast - YC) has been let loose on the Earth to wreck havoc. The war has seen nothing like him and he thrives on the carnage. That is until a group of sorcerers and priests stand up to the fiend gravely wounding him. A young human woman MC finds him half-dead in the woods and tends to him. He's terrifying to her and yet... yet... she can't just walk away and let him die. She starts to trust him slowly. For him, she becomes his obsession since she is beautiful and did him a kind turn, which is a foreign concept for a creature like him. For a while, they live a rather peaceful life together. That is until he's discovered and the priests come for her intending to burn her as a witch for rescuing him. Then it's up to him try to save her and if he's too late, the world will feel his wrath.
Spurned Love
This is a story of Vikings. MC is a Viking princess, who decides that rather than raiding the neighboring country that it'd be more beneficial to trade. Thus she seeks an alliance by offering to marry the country's prince (YC.) Well, the Vikings are feared and obviously not to be trusted, so the treaty is thrown back to MC, which angers her to no end as she not used to being denied what she wants. Why can't they see that she is trying to be merciful and build both of their countries? So, she goes and kidnaps the prince in true Viking fashion and forces him to marry her. Thus, she will have her way with him and a new life for both of their kingdoms will begin. Whether it ends in war or prosperity? Who knows but Hell has no fury like that of a spurned woman.
The Thief and the Princess
A clever thief makes his way in the castle to steal some treasure. He is caught and thrown into the dungeon. A strange girl comes to visit him. It turns out that she's the princess. Will he be able to sweet talk her into releasing him? Maybe he'll end up with making off with more than just that bit of treasure... he might steal her heart along the way.
One in a Million
Once every thousand years, a human is born with an immense gift of power. This is going to be my character. This gift is highly sought after by all manner of creatures, demons and monsters. In fact, they look for the time that this human will be born. She has no access to these powers on her own but is merely a vessel to deliver the power to another. Your character is one of these monsters (your choice on what) and has come seeking power in order to better protect his people. The power is transferred by touching my character with the most being transferred by being intimate with her and a child born by her will be more powerful than both parents. So, she is a tool toward an end but who would want to be a tool? Your character offers his protection to her in exchange for her power as there are plenty of other demons out to get that power and have no qualms about killing her to get some of it. Somewhere along the way, they fall for each other.
Unbroken
This is a master/slave story. MC is an anthro, who's been enslaved. She's strong, violent and aggressive not liking this one bit. So, she's got herself a Caution label and is warned only for an experienced master to take on. Pretty much the harder that anyone has tried to break her, the harder that she has fought back. So force isn't the way. YC decides to take her on. Will YC be kind or cruel? Will she love him or hate him?
Forgotten Love
This is already an established couple deeply in love but one character (your character or mine - I don't mind whichever) gets cursed by a jealous lover from the other's past. The curse causes a slow memory loss for the one character of their love. That leaves the other character torn watching his/her love forget all about him and move on. However will they overcome this challenge?
Running Free
Another old Western type of story. This one has MC as the strong heroine. She inherited her father's ranch in Texas and has been trying her hardest to run it in a man's world. YC is in need of work and answered a help wanted ad in the paper but when YC finds out that he'd be working for a woman, it's just plain wrong but something makes him stay. Perhaps it's the way that she looks. Perhaps it's how all the other ranches in the area are trying to run her out of town just because of her gender and have been stealing her cattle. Perhaps it's just YC wanting to stand up for MC.
The Continuation of Their Race
YC is a part of a village that is set on the edge of the woods. Recently, there have been strange disappearances happening of the men in your village. It's got all the villagers on edge and the forest is set as off-limits due to superstition that monsters are out there. YC decides to go and investigate the disappearances only to disappear himself. YC is kidnapped by MC's people. They're all female with the majority being warriors and they aren't human. The males died out for some strange reason and now they need a way to repopulate their tribe. Males of your village are kept as slaves for sex and labor. A lot of times, they are drugged. MC is the only one in the village that sees the kidnappings as wrong. She takes YC as her own to learn more about your people and try to figure out another solution. Will he trust her though? Will they succeed in finding an answer to this issue? Or will her tribe simply die out? Perhaps the kidnappings will continue. Or just maybe, MC might like having YC around and will be tempted to betray her own feelings and keep him as her own slave.

They escape together but along the way, he discovers her secret. Will he still trust her to help him win back the country? Or will he kill her for the treason that it is for a female to fight?
The Betrayal
This is a story about a kidnapping. MC is either going to be a rockstar or a sorceress (depending on what time period that we decide to go with.) YC is hired to get rid of mine because they're in the way. She's hard to get close to and waiting for the right moment to do the deed is hard too. Her trust has to be earned in order to be in the right position to make a move and then when the perfect opportunity comes, YC hesitates. There's something about MC that just intrigues him to the point, where instead of killing her, he just ends up kidnapping her instead because he knows that if he doesn't finish the job that he was hired to do, someone else will.
The Ghost
(This one has interchangeable roles for YC/MC. So whichever you prefer.) MC is a ghost that haunts a castle. A few generations after her demise, she's still there. Few people even remember her. A newcomer (YC) came to the castle and for some reason, he can see MC. It freaks MC out. They keep running into one another and she starts to grow curious of him and why he can see her. There's a dark plot afoot and MC ends up helping YC. They start talking and start growing attached to eachother but there's still the glaring problem that she's a ghost and he's not. Would he die to be with her or will they continue on like they enjoying what they can?
The Ice Queen
A girl from our modern day is thrown into a medieval fantasy world of magic and mystical beings. She has no idea where she is nor what is going on. In this world, the terror of the land, the Ice Queen, was defeated many years ago but there's a problem. The girl (MC) looks exactly like the Ice Queen. So people are mistaking her for the evil queen and are fearing that the Queen has come back to finish what she started with conquering their lands so long ago. Eventually, MC is thrown in the dungeon and she has little hope that anyone will believe her that she is not this Ice Queen. Nor does she know how to get back home but the minions of the evil Queen have heard about her and now they are trying to steal her away. Their purpose is still unknown but war is on the horizon. (This one is very open for whatever type of character that you'd like to play: knight, lord, magician, magical creature, etc.)
The Wrong Bride
This is a story of deception. An arranged marriage happens between a prince and princess to create an alliance. They have never met before the day of their wedding. The issue is that the princess has disappeared before her wedding. Panicking on starting an international incident, the king sends the kingdom's sorceress to take the princess' place. The sorceress is to create an illusion of the princess and take her place until the real princess can be found. Then the two will be swapped back out. Will the prince figure out that his bride is really an imposter? Only time will tell.
The Last of her Kind
MC's people have been conquered over a land squabble. All of them hunted down and eliminated save one. MC was the queen of her people and stood proudly beside her king. She fought with them every inch of the way and watched them die. For some reason, she was kept alive and brought before the leader of the conquering people as a tribute. She tries to attack him despite her bonds and the leader decides to auction her off to whoever may want her in the courtroom that day since she's so much trouble. Who would step up for her? Will they keep her alive and break her? Or will she be shown that not all of them are the savages that her people believed them to be? Why was she kept alive? For selfish reasons or was there a touch of destiny there?
Broken Toy
This is the story of a pretty little Neko girl (MC) that ran away from her cruel master. Somehow, she ends up at YC's doorstep and YC takes her in. Nekos in this story are genetically engineered creatures produced at the request of their purchaser. They are considered sub-class citizens and have little to no rights. MC is initially afraid due to the bad experiences that she had but she can come around if YC is kind and patient. This would be a sweet pet story. Can YC mend the broken toy's heart
Trapped
The scene is high in the Scottish highlands. MC is a lady that was married off to make peace between two clans. Yet, her husband sees her still as an enemy treating her cruel to her to the point of abuse. Yet, there's nothing that she can do for fear or breaking the truce. YC has been taken prisoner and is being neglected in captivity. MC fights to look after him and somehow she is allowed to. She's afraid of him but she still finds the courage to see to his needs. YC convinces MC to help him escape but he can't leave her behind.
Monster Hunter
(Interchangeable roles on the chars) YC is a paranormal hunter, who's been tasked with hunting down a particular monster, who's been causing trouble for a local village. He treks off into the village, where he comes across a beautiful woman. She offers to go along with him to help. Only thing is that the monster that he's hunting take human form. So, it's actually his companion. What will happen when that is revealed? Will he complete his mission or let her live?
Hellfire
It's medieval times and a large war has engulfed most of the world. The bloodshed and rage opened the gates of Hell long enough for something to crawl it's way out. A demon (or some kind of beast - YC) has been let loose on the Earth to wreck havoc. The war has seen nothing like him and he thrives on the carnage. That is until a group of sorcerers and priests stand up to the fiend gravely wounding him. A young human woman MC finds him half-dead in the woods and tends to him. He's terrifying to her and yet... yet... she can't just walk away and let him die. She starts to trust him slowly. For him, she becomes his obsession since she is beautiful and did him a kind turn, which is a foreign concept for a creature like him. For a while, they live a rather peaceful life together. That is until he's discovered and the priests come for her intending to burn her as a witch for rescuing him. Then it's up to him try to save her and if he's too late, the world will feel his wrath.
Spurned Love
This is a story of Vikings. MC is a Viking princess, who decides that rather than raiding the neighboring country that it'd be more beneficial to trade. Thus she seeks an alliance by offering to marry the country's prince (YC.) Well, the Vikings are feared and obviously not to be trusted, so the treaty is thrown back to MC, which angers her to no end as she not used to being denied what she wants. Why can't they see that she is trying to be merciful and build both of their countries? So, she goes and kidnaps the prince in true Viking fashion and forces him to marry her. Thus, she will have her way with him and a new life for both of their kingdoms will begin. Whether it ends in war or prosperity? Who knows but Hell has no fury like that of a spurned woman.
The Thief and the Princess
A clever thief makes his way in the castle to steal some treasure. He is caught and thrown into the dungeon. A strange girl comes to visit him. It turns out that she's the princess. Will he be able to sweet talk her into releasing him? Maybe he'll end up with making off with more than just that bit of treasure... he might steal her heart along the way.
One in a Million
Once every thousand years, a human is born with an immense gift of power. This is going to be my character. This gift is highly sought after by all manner of creatures, demons and monsters. In fact, they look for the time that this human will be born. She has no access to these powers on her own but is merely a vessel to deliver the power to another. Your character is one of these monsters (your choice on what) and has come seeking power in order to better protect his people. The power is transferred by touching my character with the most being transferred by being intimate with her and a child born by her will be more powerful than both parents. So, she is a tool toward an end but who would want to be a tool? Your character offers his protection to her in exchange for her power as there are plenty of other demons out to get that power and have no qualms about killing her to get some of it. Somewhere along the way, they fall for each other.
Unbroken
This is a master/slave story. MC is an anthro, who's been enslaved. She's strong, violent and aggressive not liking this one bit. So, she's got herself a Caution label and is warned only for an experienced master to take on. Pretty much the harder that anyone has tried to break her, the harder that she has fought back. So force isn't the way. YC decides to take her on. Will YC be kind or cruel? Will she love him or hate him?
Forgotten Love
This is already an established couple deeply in love but one character (your character or mine - I don't mind whichever) gets cursed by a jealous lover from the other's past. The curse causes a slow memory loss for the one character of their love. That leaves the other character torn watching his/her love forget all about him and move on. However will they overcome this challenge?
Running Free
Another old Western type of story. This one has MC as the strong heroine. She inherited her father's ranch in Texas and has been trying her hardest to run it in a man's world. YC is in need of work and answered a help wanted ad in the paper but when YC finds out that he'd be working for a woman, it's just plain wrong but something makes him stay. Perhaps it's the way that she looks. Perhaps it's how all the other ranches in the area are trying to run her out of town just because of her gender and have been stealing her cattle. Perhaps it's just YC wanting to stand up for MC.
The Continuation of Their Race
YC is a part of a village that is set on the edge of the woods. Recently, there have been strange disappearances happening of the men in your village. It's got all the villagers on edge and the forest is set as off-limits due to superstition that monsters are out there. YC decides to go and investigate the disappearances only to disappear himself. YC is kidnapped by MC's people. They're all female with the majority being warriors and they aren't human. The males died out for some strange reason and now they need a way to repopulate their tribe. Males of your village are kept as slaves for sex and labor. A lot of times, they are drugged. MC is the only one in the village that sees the kidnappings as wrong. She takes YC as her own to learn more about your people and try to figure out another solution. Will he trust her though? Will they succeed in finding an answer to this issue? Or will her tribe simply die out? Perhaps the kidnappings will continue. Or just maybe, MC might like having YC around and will be tempted to betray her own feelings and keep him as her own slave.

The bell hanging over the door of the coffee shop chimed as it swung open and admitted a hooded figure from it. Her shape was definitely feminine by the simple curves of her body. The way that her jeans hugged her hips and the gentle swell of her chest. If not for the small bumps on top of her hood made from her ears, one may mistake her for human until they looked at her face, which was definitely feline. A pretty pink nose and two sweet stripes that outline a dainty muzzle dropping down from the corners of her eyes. She had a paper coffee cup in each hand and smiled to herself rather good-naturedly. "What a nice surprise of buy one, get one free." She said aloud and looked around at the passerbys on the sidewalk around her. There was a mix of humans and furries everywhere that she looked.
Furries had only just recently been accepted into society. Laws had been passed to make them equal to the humans but it was slow going getting the humans and furries to accept one another. There was prejudice on both sides, restaurants and stores that would cater only to one side or the other and jobs that were out of reach for one. It was rough-going for someone that was trying to break the molds set out by society. Someone like Rena, who had dreams of being a dancer. She'd practiced every day for as long as she could remember. Danced at home as well but that was the country and this was the city. Relations were more tense here. Rules were more strict as Rena had found out slowly. She'd been here for two weeks now and visited a theater or dance studio daily only to be turned out on her tail every single time. It was wearing on her.
She glanced at the two cups in her hand and sighed. "That was the last of my money." She took a sip of one of the coffees and sighed as a small smile crossed her features. "At least, you taste good." The warmth from the cups was welcome. It was late Fall and there was a definite crispness to the air. It wouldn't be long until winter rolled in. Still, Rena worried about where she was going to sleep tonight. It certainly felt like it was going to be cold tonight. Sleeping outside didn't seem like a good option. Perhaps, she could sleep at the bus station. She'd have to break down and call her parents to ask for a ticket back home, give up on this silly dream of dancing. It just seemed too far out of reach even with how hard that she'd already tried.
She'd found that her wandering feet had taken her to the park, where she sat quietly on a bench watching the boats out on the river. It was relaxing here. She could hear kids playing and joggers going by. So much life around her and yet, this wouldn't work for her. It wasn't long until someone had taken the spot next to her. She'd scooted over to give them some room since there were no more spots to sit in the park and she didn't mind sharing. They sat quietly for a moment enjoying the atmosphere until she glanced at the second coffee in her other hand before holding it out to her bench-mate. "Would you like this coffee? It was buy one, get one at the coffee shop over there and I don't think that I could drink both. I'd hate for it to go to waste." She smiled softly hoping to not make a bad impression.

Her bed was warm and sleep had come easily to her. The subtle shift of the mattress moving roused her and her eye lashes fluttered slowly still feeling groggy. Damn, she'd been up for a day and a half. What was it now? The covers shifted lower and a smooth touch worked its way over her chest, over her breasts and lower along her belly before slim fingers started to gather the thin fabric of her shift starting to bare her lower legs, knees and a hint of creamy thighs. It was the whiskey breath over her nose that roused her fully and blue eyes snapped open. Her hired hand Billy was above her and he'd pushed her shift up over her hips and was busy reaching for his pants. Oh Hell no!
Her hand reached for the revolver that she kept under the mattress and held the gun at his brow, while he was looking down at either of their crotches, she didn't care whose. There was a low click. "You have three seconds to get off me and out of this house before I put a hole in you, Billy Thornton. How dare you take liberties with me! This is not what I hired you for! Get out!!" She shoved her night gown back down over her legs and physically pushed him back with her gun's barrel.
"Miss Dupuis, I'm sorry!" Billy held up his hands and staggered backward. "I... I thought after helping you with the vagabond.... you and I... we're closer now."
"Fat chance of that. Get out! You're fired. I want you off my property now! You got two seconds left." She snapped irritably.
He cussed and jumped back from the bed holding his pants up as he scrambled out the door. "I'm going! I'm going!" She followed him in her bare feet with her gun still trained on his back and when he turned to look back at her, she shot at his feet putting a darn hole in her kitchen floor. He gave a yelp and scooted out the door letting it bang shut behind him. She stalked after him watching from the porch as the night wind played with her skirt while he scrambled to get his horse collected and haul himself up into the saddle. "You're a tough woman. Cold. You ain't gonna make it on your own!" He warned as he spun his horse, the beast showing the whites of its eyes.
"Well, I certainly don't need you. Now git!" She snapped and he spurred his horse taking off. Her gaze followed him until he was out of sight before she moved back into the house. The sight of the hole in the floor made her groan. Another thing that needed mending. She really needed to watch her temper but Billy had that one coming. Taking liberties with her? Like she was some bar harlot! Imagine! No, she was a Dupuis and a damn proud one.
Down the corridor bypassing her bedroom, she went to the spare room instead. Carefully, she gave a faint knock but didn't hear an answer. Pushing open the door, she entered to find the man that she'd found injured on her land. He was hurt pretty badly to the point that she wasn't sure that he'd live but she'd gotten Billy to help bring him back to the house and she'd given it her best shot to help him. It was up to him if he wanted to live or not now. From the look of it, he didn't seem to be disturbed from the ruckus caused by her and Billy. That may be a blessing and a bad thing at the same time. It was good that he was resting but seeing him alert would've given her hope for his condition. With a sigh, she down beside the bed. "I hope that you don't mind, stranger, but after that, I really don't want to be alone." A shiver went through her. For all her bravado, she was still a woman. One that was trying her hardest to make it a definite man's world. To keep her family's ranch going when all the odds were stacked against her. It must've been a good while that she'd sat there quietly with the single candle burning in the room as she'd folded her arms on top of the mattress and put her head down just for a moment. That moment stretched on as sleep found her once more. Huh, imagine that. Finding a peaceful moment beside a stranger.
