All right, I’m a Star Wars Nerd, and I hope there are some others out there, because this is an itch I just can’t seem to get rid of.

The plot is pretty open and general, because I want to keep it open to have characters on both sides of the story, as well as allow play interaction to build some of that plot. There are only a few things that are a necessity to know before you agree to get involved:

1) This is something that is going to require in-depth, detailed, literate writing. If you aren’t accustomed to, or comfortable with, writing more than a paragraph per post, then you might find yourself struggling.

2) This is going to be long-term play, not a one-off, get your jollies and move on. If you want to be involved, please make sure you’re willing to be in it for the long-haul. ( I am certain that sex-scenes are going to be fun and engaging, but they should be plot points to the bigger story, not the only thing going on.) This won’t require posting every day, 2-3 times a week would be optimal.

3) We will have to establish who is who and what our over-arching conflict is before we get started, so ideas are more than welcome. And, if there are no objections, I’d suggest sticking with old republic era (or even before that) so we have lots of loose material and creative freedom to work with.

Well, that’s the long and short of it so far. I’m not entirely sure what kind of character I even want to play, or what the end goal is here, but that is why I need a collection of other nerds to figure this one out. The Star Wars universe gives us lots, and lots of races, factions, back stories, and types of people to work with, so there is no reason to go outside cannon for character creation when we get there. – We also all love the Sith and Jedi, and if that’s all we end up with, we’ll work with it. However, some smugglers, soldiers, agents, and diplomats might be fun to play with, too. We also need plenty of “bad guys” for the “good guys” to struggle against. So, we need all types, and opportunities for both sides to get plenty of play (both story and smut based).

But, I’m rambling now so – if you are interested and have some ideas, let’s hear it!
 
I might be interested. Old Republic is not my favorite era, but I'm a star wars fan and it would be nice to do something that's story over smut so I'll see where this goes.
 
I have tried out a Star Wars RP before, and it fell a little short, though its story line was a bit hard to follow; this sounds a little bit more open, and that's something I'm considering. I am interested though, that's for sure.
 
What time period would you want? I find the current movie time period relatively boring compared to the old republic or clone wars time periods.
 
I prefer Rebellion Era or Rise of the Empire. If we're setting it pre-Old Republic, like Great Hyper Space War or earlier then that could be interesting.
 
Alright, so I definitely want to stay away from all the movies. No living skywalkers, before the 'rule of two' set forth by Darth Bane, before Yoda's even born, lol.

The Great Hyperspace War would be a great place to start (thanx frightorflight!).

In The Hyperspace War (AKA, The Sith War) the Sith Empire is in its Golden Age and they attack Coruscant (Battle of Coruscant), demolishing the Jedi Temple that sits above an ancient Sith Shrine. - This sparks the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire (in 5000 BBY) that encompassed the entire Galactic Republic.

However, there are a couple subplots going on around this point, too:

The Mandalorian-Jedi War: These are the first encounters between Jedi and Mandalorians, and the source of their Jedi-focused technology, and why Mandalorians become so good at killing Jedi.

The Fall of the Old Republic: Mandalorians and Sith ultimately gain control of the galaxy for a time because of everything listed above.

This can all set up the general tensions and motivations, but for the more character focused plot, what kinds of characters would you guys most want to play? I was thinking about making two characters, one "good" and one "bad" to play both sides.

If I can get a good idea of what you all would most enjoy working with, I can get a more narrow idea of what kind of plot we'll get the most out of. :)

I think your confusing the Great Hyperspace War with the Old Republic. Just off of what I remember form the comics, the Mandalorians weren't involved, that came later with Exar Kun I think, and not really until Reven's time. The Republic is never destroyed either, though it is given a pretty bloody nose for a while.

Great Hyperspace is way back. Lightsabers were just starting to become a thing, much of the galaxy was unexplored. It was a very different time and is not very well explored outside of some of the comic books.
 
Oh, sorry! I didn't mean they were happening all at the same time. I meant they were things going on about the same time. I haven't read any of the comics and am drawing mostly from wookieepedia. I don't want to be so locked into what is or is not cannon that we can't produce a unique plot, either. It's more thought points, than anything we need to strictly adhere to. "More guidelines than actual rules," as it were. :)
 
I definitely want to play a conventional Jedi in a time period where there actually is a Jedi order, or at least a character who knew what that was like. Post order 66 is okay, but if you want to avoid the movies and skywalkers I totally understand that too. Old Republic or some distant future way ahead of Episode 9 would be good too.

I roleplayed on a board based on KOTOR for 5 years.
 
It's fine, I just don't want us to say we're going to do a Hyper Space War RP, and then just do an Old Republic RP, since Old Republic happened almost 1500 years later and was a very different time.
 
Yeah, I don't know if it will make it, lol. The point was to find material to work with, not to find a specific cannon moment to write about. So, I'm not confusing anything with anything else. Nor am I mixing things up.

So, let me make this as clear as I possibly can: I don't give a foop about what is or what is not 100% cannon. Star Wars offers a veritable shit-ton of stuff that we can use, how ever the hell we want to use it, because this is Rp.

So, we aren't doing a hyperspace wars rp and we aren't doing an old republic rp, we're doing a Star Wars rp and we can draw inspiration from where ever we feel like. XD
 
Well, the character profile page for this scene is made, and I have my characters written up in it; I didn't mention or placed them in a timeline, but how I put it is that there is an established Jedi Council, at least. There's a link provided in an earlier post of Leatrix's, actually.

Not sure yet. I'll probably wait until a few other people have made their characters and just fill whatever roles is left.
 
For some time now, I´ve wanted to play a former pornstar turned X-Wing pilot for the Rebellion.

Yes, you read that right.

I happen to be a huge fan of the X-Wing games and how they simulated space combat in the Rebellion era. I´d be up for anything in that ballpark. Old Republic, early Rebellion and late Rebellion. I´m not a huge fan of the prequels but I´ve gotta admit the spaceships are pretty sleek-looking. The sequels, I´m not touching with the tip of a ten-foot-long lightsaber.

I love just how flamboyant that idea is. I can't wait to see the character sheet for that character.
 
If there's still openings, I'd be hugely interested. The Great Hyperspace War has always sounded like a fascinating era of Star Wars history to me.
