Aubrey (nsfw)you’re not the only one in line to lead the pack. Yes we look out for one another, but you don’t have the entire pack’s support. You need to focus, need to get to know your peers, need to step up.” Bi-colored eyes followed the tall man as he walked across the room. His hair was pepper colored and his face was fierce with a strong jaw, ice blue eyes, and a perpetual frown. He was a tough man, her father, but he was also incredibly compassionate which was why he was talking to her right now. He was the current alpha in their pack, had been for 50 years, but he was ready to step down. Naturally, he wanted his daughter to take over and Alana wanted the same.

“What little faith you have, Father.” She smiled softly at him and clicked her teeth. “I’ve visited the mothers who are expecting, been out hunting with a good number of warriors, and am always active and present during council meetings. Even the teenagers get along with me and you know how difficult it is to get in their good graces.” Alana stood up to her full 5’10’’ height and smoothed her hands over her hips and front to remove the creases from the front of her satin dress. It hugged her curves despite lacking the corset that was supposed to lay underneath and held her ample breasts securely no matter how precarious it looked. She looked simple elegant, and incredibly feminine. Her appearance masking the strength laid just beneath the surface.

“I will do all that I can to ensure I’m ahead of the others, but our people have minds of their own and the best thing I can do is respect their decision, no matter what they decide. I have faith that they know what’s best for the pack.” She walked to her father and affectionately rested her forehead against his own something they’d done ever since she was a child.

“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go hunt with a few of my ardent supporters.” He smiled and tugged a lock of her short, silvery hair before stepping back and letting her leave his office. She walked through the corridor of the second floor and made her way downstairs, nodding to those she passed along the way. Their home was located deep in the forest, nearly half a days trip away from the city. However, it was fine for them as they were self sufficient. It was the largest in the commune but still modest. The Aarkadveya family didn’t flaunt their wealth as it wasn’t just theirs. Whatever their pack needed, the family provided. They owned quality items, but they were always simple and practical. After all, things like clothing pretty trinkets were a forethought when one needed to shift or possible abandon their home at a moment's notice.

Alana smiled as Emery trotted past her, letting his tail glide over her thigh. “Don’t get into too much trouble while I’m gone.” Emery yipped and continued on. She started to undo the buttons on the side of her dress, prepared to leave her clothing by the door when one of the guards quickly approached.

“Lady Aubrey, I’m sorry to interrupt but there is something we need to you to see.” The guard’s face was flushed, his eyes frantic and worried. She nodded and started moving a bit faster only for him to grab her nimble hand.

“No you need to remain human. A - one of them has entered into our territory.” Aubrey couldn’t help the growl that escaped her lips. It was not easy to enter into their land, they made sure of that. They didn’t need anymore exposure to outsiders.

“Where are they?” She left without her shoes, wanting to remain as mobile as possible as she hiked up her dress and the two made their way out the door and walked quickly through town. She tried her best to remain polite as her people greeted her, but didn’t idle. When they finally made it to the edge of town, they sprinted into a run, their feet light and silent on the forest floor despite being confined to their human form. It had been awhile since she fully exerted this form, but she welcomed the burn as the muscles stretched and bunched, the skin shifted and vibrated.

The came to a small clearing by the lake and Aubrey smelled him before she ever saw him. Her spine loosened a bit as she realized she smelled the blood. “When did you find him? Was he conscious when you left?” She moved cautiously towards the limp figure until she stood over him and folded her arms under her chest.

“Perhaps a bit over an hour. I went to Sir Micah first but he was nowhere to be found and then found you. He was unconscious when I found him.” She nodded an kneeled down, her hands sliding down the man’s form and removing any weapons she found and handing them to the guard. She opened her senses more as her eyes looked him over.

There was a gash on his cheek, a deeper one on his bicep, and bruises around his neck. She could hear his elevated heartbeat, despite being unconscious, and knew his heart was trying to replace the blood it was still losing. His clothes were dry so it was clear the river didn’t carry him there. Never had she encountered another with hair as light, lighter even than her own at such a young age. However it was clear he was human. She wanted more information.

“Anthony, help me get him to one of the cottages at the edge of the forest.” Stood up and looked him directly in the eye, her normally honeyed voice stern. “Tell no one about this. I don’t want to cause unneeded panic. I will inform the others and my father once I find out how he came to be here. Understood?” The young man paused for a moment before nodding his consent and to two immediately made work of comfortable carrying his body.

Keirah Wesley was part of the American army. Despite being born in the United States, his natural skin color had brougth him many troubles during his whole life. He had been lucky his famoly had some connections, which allowed him to enlist in the military and, thus, lead something as close to a normal life someone like him could ever think of. His natural hair color didn't help his cause, but he was used to it now. At first, such thing had brougth him many internal struggles with his comrades. But now he was reaching the age of twenty-eight, he was past those things. Both him and his comrades trusted each other, after having to support each others' backs so many times.

But now, the young soldier had been left on his own. A new mission had gotten them ending up lost in some unknown land. They couldn't speak the language of its natives. Much less aim to communicate with any of them. Neither their clothes nor weapons helped their cause. So, after many of his comrades had been ambushed by criminals of all kinds, he had managed to escape on his own, unable to help any of them. Instead, he had been tasked with asking for help, and trying to come back to them before all of them got mercilessly killed.

While he was at it, Keirah had ended up entering some thick woods. From the looks of it, no man seemed to be living there. The bushes and branches of the tall trees blocked the way. The tall grass made it almost impossible for him to walk through the forest, as he tried to find any sort of human village or town he could use as a shelter. All his efforts ended up being absolutely futile though. After several weeks lost in those woods, he eventually run out of energy.

They said all sorts of beasts lived in there. He had even said people talking before about all sorts of supernatural creatues. Humans with fangs so sharp they could pierce another's flesh and drink their blood. Wolves adopting a human form and charging against their enemies with superhuman strength. But all of those were nothing but mere inventions. Delusions of those madmen covered in red hoods and long tunics most people tended to avoid.

It wasn't exactly a supernatural creature. But, eventually, predators smelled his human scent, and decided to try and hunt him down. All of the sudden, Keirah saw himself surrounded by a pack of wolves, all of them baring their fangs at him, threatening to eat him alive if he didn't defend himself. So that's what he did. He tried to beat said beasts. But all he managed were some severe wounds. A thin slit in his cheek. An even deeper one in his neck and chest. Blood started pouring down his open wounds, threatening with leave him dry before he could even get out of those cursed woods.

So he ran. He ran until he ended up tripping over a small rock and his head landed on the ground, hitting it with a loud thud. Thus eventually losing consciousness. All he could hear were some far away voices. It seemed he had finally found more humans living in that forbidden forest. But he was so close to fainting, he couldn't even tell if they spoke the same language or not. So he simply gave in, letting them do as he pleased with him, albeit reluctantly, whilst trying his best to open his eyes and face them properly, should he deem them as a new menace.

The dress was starting to get in the way of her mobility and it was all she could could do not to tear it off. This custom humans had of wear so many clothes never ceased to baffle her kind. Yes, she loved the various styles and trinkets. They did make her feel a certain way in the eyes of men, but her body couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t stretch or move the way she wanted to. But she didn’t want to risk being found out and even something as small as a difference in attire could cause issues when the man woke up.

Aubrey and Anthony kept their senses open as the made the trek. She could smell wolves in the surrounding area, but the lacked the ability to shift. It was clear they were watching, waiting. The continued on without pausing, only slowing when she felt the man shift in their arms.
5 minutes later they entered a small clearing with a one story brick cottage with a well standing next to it. There were two small windows on each side, big enough to let in a good amount of light, but small enough that no one would slip through and there was wrought iron in place just in case anyone else tried. The door was a heavy oak with two locks on the outside. She set the man’s leg’s down, walked towards the door and placed her hands over the two locks before murmuring a small incantation to unlock them. The space was small with everything clustered together save the bathroom. There was simply a bed with two wooden chairs, a table and a small fireplace, but it was neat.

“Place him on the bed and use the rope by the door to tie him up please.” She grabbed and looked through the small cabinet for salve before pulling a seat to the bed where the man laid and sitting there.

“Thank you, can you do me one final favor and get some water from the well?” Anthony nodded and left the house. Aubrey took a deep breath and looked at the wound on his forehead, her fingers lightly gliding over it. It wasn’t deep enough to show his skull but he’d have a scar for the rest of his life. Her eyes next assessed the gash on his arm. The blood had slowed down a bit but hadn’t stopped yet which was worrying if she cared to help him beyond meeting her own needs. She lightly slapped his face with one hand while her other snapped next to his ear.

“Wake up.” She continued on until she saw him starting to rouse. “I need you to open your eyes.”

Since he had been unconscious during the whole trip, Keirah never had the chance to even resist. It wasn't until his body had been placed on top of the bed and tied up that the man felt something again. A faint touch coming from one of his cheeks. That same feeling repeated once more, this time next to the ear, on the opposite side of his own face. What the Hell? Groaning a bit, he finally opened his eyes, only to see a woman staring right at his own face. A woman? What was she doing there? He was still in the forest, right? Her clothes looked rather ordinary, like any outfit any woman from all of the villages he had visited would wear. However, her expression was wild, brave. Similar to that of a beast. So admired and surprised he was, he stared at her for a few minutes, until he finally woke up completely, checking his surroundings.

They even seemed to be in a small cottage. Simple, with little amenities. And yet, comfortable. Had he truly managed to find a hidden village that deep in those thick woods? Even if he suspected that to be the case, he couldn't still trust the woman completely. Even if she was indeed one of her own kind, which she probably was, given Keirah had never believed such "fairy tales", he didn't know if she would truly help him or not. She could be an enemy, or simply decide he was a threat and get him killed. Or something even worse. Finally, his pursed lips began to move, albeit rather reluctantly.

"Where...am I?" Keirah inquired in a soft murmur with a rather husky tone, his throat being entirely dry. He hadn't had any food nor water for a while already. "Who...might you be? Can you even understand me?" The young soldier finally said, attempting to sit up. Only to find out his whole body had been secured with a thick rope. "What...is this?!" Keirah then exclaimed, flashing the woman with a sharp glare. Soon enough, his grateful demeanor turned to a defensive one, as he tried his best to get rid of the ropes restraining his movements.

Aubrey watched him watch her. What a peculiar human he was. She wondered how he fared with his people. The tan skin, the hair and striking eyes. The piercing. He certainly wasn’t a part of high society. He was the opposite of what they strove for, but she found the look suited him. He looked like a man who lived and did actual work. Things that her pack valued. She saw the exact moment he realized he wasn’t in safe company and smiled slightly and the useless glare thrown her way.

“I wouldn’t struggle so much if I were you. You’ll just make a mess of yourself that way.” Not that the resulting smell would be unpleasant. It saturated the air in the most delicious way and if she was more aware of herself and the time, she’d realize her eyes were slightly dilated. She looked up at the door as it opened. Anthony set the pale of water next to her feet and she thanked him before dismissing him with a reminder of secrecy.

“I’m not the one who hurt you and I have no intentions to do so if you cooperate.” Standing up she grabbed a tin cup from a nearby cabinet and filled it with water before dipping the towel in the pale and wring it out a bit. “You’re far from the nearest town and there was no one with you when we found you.” Leaning over him, her face a little too close, she wipe the dried blood around his wound and the rest of his face. He would benefit from stitches but she lacked a needle and thread. The urge to lick the wound clean was strong, but she pushed the instinct away. He would have to deal with the scar it left.

“These woods are dangerous. What reason could you have for coming here?” Her words were soft, but guarded. It was better to lure with honey after all. She dipped the bloodied cloth in the water again to clean it before focusing on the actual wound.

“This will hurt a bit.” Aubrey made quick work of cleaning up his face and applied the salve before sitting back for a moment. She’d need him to remove his shirt so she could get to the wound on his arm and realized letting Anthony leave was a mistake. Not only was it supposedly improper to see a man half naked, she’d need to untie him to remove the sleeve. Her lips pursed in annoyance as she listened to him and weighed her options.

The dark skinned man couldn't help but keep struggling for a little way, until he heard the woman's next words. Certainly, anything he could do would only serve for his wounds to get even worse. There was no way he could get rid of such tight binding with his current strength. However, if she wasn't an enemy and wasn't planning on hurting him...Why had she bothered on restraining his movements to such lenghts? Did she consider him a threat? From what he could remember hearing before his consciousness faded away completely, she wasn't alone. He had also seen a man walking out of the small place. So...Why had she felt the need of tying him up?

Anyways, Keirah finally gave up. He stopped moving at last, as his fierce gaze checked his surroundings, as well as the woman standing next to him. He quietly observed how she softly tended to his own wounds, even arching a brow. He wanted to ask why she was doing that for him, but stopped himself from doing so. Something told him the woman should be the one asking questions first. Maybe it was instinct. He had to trust it many times in the army if he wanted to survive. So, he simply remained in silence during the whole time, faintly grimacing at the subtle pain coming from his wounds. Especially when the salve touched his bare, sore skin.

"I was looking for something." Keirah finally said, barely managing to prevent a pained groan escape through his lips. "My partners have been captured. Well, I was also a prisoner with them, but managed to escape." The young soldier briefly explained, finally looking up at the woman with a meek expression this time. Although he was pretty much acting up. He wanted her to think he was more vulnerable than what he actually was. If he showed himself aggressive, nothing good would come from that. Who knew, maybe that woman would actually bring him the help he truly needed. "So, I went through a long ordeal only to get here save. I don't even know where I might be, since I don't have anything I can use to guide myself. I don't mean any harm, young lady. Let me introduce myself, though. I'm Keirah Wesley. Feel free to call me as you may wish. It seems you just saved my life, after all."

Aubrey listened quietly, surprised at the warmth that pooled in her stomach when his voice cleared. She sat up a little straighter, suddenly comfortable. She smirked at the word young but didn’t say anything, instead opting to put the lid of the salve. The sun was starting to set and the light through the windows hit her silver eye, causing it to shimmer slightly.

“I’m Aubrey Vanyanis.” she said simply.

“So you’re all that’s left of your group then.” That soothed her nerves slightly, but him looking for something sounded another set of alarms. There were people who knew werewolves existed even if most people thought it was hearsay, people who would stupidly try to search them out. The humans, for all their weapons, were still weak in comparison. Where she had brute force and stamina, they’d have to fall back on their intelligence, which they didn’t all possess. He might be one of them.

“We found you bloodied and unconscious. It’s only him and I. Not many people wander these woods so we were apprehensive. Rest assured that we have no desire to hurt you. Like you, we want to make sure we’re safe.” Despite the set of alarm bells ringing in her head, her spirit told her she should trust him and it left her feeling confused. Rarely did her body call out to someone and certainly not a human. She didn’t randomly lay with men and it wasn’t the season to claim a mate.

“What is it you’re hoping to find?” She sat back in her seat and crossed her legs, the slit in her flowing dress opening to reveal her pale sculpted skin. “And are the people you ran away from pursuing you?” Depending on Keirah’s answer, she’d get rid of the restraints. They were simply for show afterall.
