Just as the title suggests, I'm extremely bored. I'm a writer, and despite leading a fairly busy lifestyle, I cannot help but find myself bored.
A brief history of how I write, I often take characters from my own books, whether they have been published or scrapped, and throw them into new stories to try out new ideas involving said characters. Each character with one exception is in a way reborn into the world and molded by it, and the one exception will be explained upon further down below. I do plenty of 1x1 roleplays, and I've been the DM plenty of times, but the person that I normally had DM for me has lost his touch, so cold as it may be, I'm looking for someone else who could relieve my boredom for the time being. To scratch the itch, so to say.
What do I want to write? Well, sci-fi settings are fine, but I prefer fantasy settings in general. Medieval fantasy being a favorite, and I love the higher fantasy medieval most. Swords, magic, people of differing races, rich lore, that's the kind of stuff I love. Though I prefer medieval, I am again willing to go sci-fi, but I'll elaborate more on this further down.
And speaking of elaboration, let's get down to what kind of worlds I want my characters to explore. Of course, since you would be the DM, it is ultimately up to you how the world is. If possible, though, I want to avoid what I call the "bad D&D campaign" scenario, where all it is is going from fight to fight. And I should especially elaborate, I welcome a sexual adventure, some of my characters will even pursue such over others, but I do not want sex to be the focus. Some of the best sex scenes are like proper scenes of conflict, when there is a story behind it, and a good one at that, the scene becomes that much better and gratifying. Now by this point you must be wondering "well, just what the hell does this guy want?" And that's a fair question, so let me get down to the settings I prefer in a bit more detail, then I will follow it up with characters. Just a quick disclaimer though, I try not to use pictures for my characters so that I might practice up better on descriptive details for my own characters.
SETTINGS:
Medieval Fantasy: Pretty self explanatory. Swords and magic, with strange people and even stranger tales to tell. We can take this as either low/medium/high fantasy. The differences with those being just how far into fantasy do we get? Low would be closer to actual medieval setting, with only some fantastical elements, high fantasy being that wizards, magic, demons, and non-human characters are commonplace, with medium being somewhere in between. For low fantasy, think of the Golden Age of Berserk. Then for medium, think about ((Quick spoiler warning)) Berserk after the eclipse, and a high fantasy setting being Berserk after Griffith's revival. That's about the best example I can think of to quickly and easily describe all three. If you're still unsure, don't be afraid to ask!
Sci-Fi adventure: While I leave the medieval fantasy a lot more open, for sci-fi I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask for some more specific story ideas, though do not be afraid to bring up your own! An engineer traveling from planet to planet, chasing an unknown threat (think like the Zerg from early Starcraft,) having been called to earth to suddenly lead a fleet in chasing this threat. From there, planet to planet adventures and some high stakes tactical action in saving literal worlds from this unknown threat. Or, perhaps instead we can go with something akin to the Metroid series, or Cowboy Bebop, with a space mercenary just trying to get by taking on bounties for his day to day life?
As for characters, keep in mind that plenty of these characters are from my own books, however some have been scrapped, or whose projects haven't really gotten off the ground in favor of other projects. That said, let's get right into it. Any asterisks you see indicate a particular want or drive for me to want to use these characters.
Dirge Clades: My very first protagonist, and who has honestly evolved the most. That said, he can adapt to most stories with relative ease. Whether he is a callous mercenary, or a awkward engineer, I can adapt this character to fit with just about any story. In terms of sexual drive, I'd say this guy is pretty vanilla, despite being pretty metal at times with how I can write him. He finds a woman he likes, travels with her, then eventually falls in love. Pretty standard stuff, but because it's standard doesn't mean I don't dislike writing him. Regardless of which path you take, there is a human side to the colder edges he has, revealing a surprisingly awkward man who isn't too great with social situations, hence he often works alone with his sword, or whichever tool his present incarnation prefers. A tried and true character from a story I've scrapped and remade for seven years, he is a perfect fit for any story.
**Ixius Zaharad: Yes, I named this account after one of my favorite characters to write. A silvery haired and robed wizard who's lived for a millennium, unlike Dirge, this character is always the same him for this reason: He is a primordial wizard, his time in the sun long past. He was just a regular human, until at a young age where everything changed, and not only him, but his world changed drastically. He has seen the rise of mankind, and labored with allies and gods to make sure the world would be safe. However, over the past two hundred years the wizard has lost his fame, becoming much less the legendary sage of dreams, and more of just a lonely, bored wizard who just does what he wants. However, he was once being chased by some unsavory folk, and he decided to run away to save him some trouble. However, a transportation spell had gone awry, and he thusly found himself in a completely other dimension--a new world. Thus, his trials begin anew, as he now must find a way back to his original dimension. This wizard has over two hundred and fifty spells and counting, and is definitely a force to be reckoned with. However, despite having power that could defeat demigods, he truly has an aversion to power, and prefers to simply toy with opponents where he has the freedom too, the most action he sees being to run away from angry fathers and enjoying some tabletop swashbuckling in a tavern. In terms of sexual drive, it is extremely high. If he spots a non human creature he hasn't met, and it is of at least humanlike intelligence (so you know...not an animal) he will likely see if he can sleep with it, and add it to his notebook of discovered beings. However, this wizard has three rules, his code of conduct for his rampant sexual habits: 1: No children. If they aren't old enough to give proper consent, then he will be fine waiting another ten years for them to mature enough. After all, he's lived for a thousand years, what's ten more years to him? 2: No one dead. In his world, undead are simply rotting husks that attack indiscriminately. Only in one world did he experiment with undead, and that was because they were still seemingly alive, with their own personalities, and were still acting like normal people. The only difference was that their hearts stopped beating. After some trial and error, the wizard found a way to revive them, and thus had his fun, but not without learning all he could. 3: Much like previously stated, they must be of humanlike intelligence. Meaning, they must be able to give proper consent. No animals, no monsters (not monster girls...he is rather fond of those,) et cetra. Though I must insist his power remains in my hands, I must specifically ask that any RP he winds up in not be revolving around power fantasy. Make it political, make it a matter that cannot be solved by seeing who could throw the most devastating spell at each other. If you want something like that, I must inform that Dirge would be a stronger pick. Ixius Zaharad is a whimsical wizard who dislikes fighting seriously, just give him a world to wander in and he will find his own goals along the way, while potentially finding some people to "play" with along the way.
3: Gnithar: Being the only name this man knows, he's an assassin through and through, preferring the use of crossguns (or repeater crossbows, same thing essentially,) along with traps and elaborate devices. His magic is low, but he has a talent for becoming invisible, and he is not afraid to do whatever he has to do to get his way. In terms of sexual drive, it will vary from setting to setting. He is pretty adaptable to any story, and though I could write him better, what better way to practice and work out the kinks than to actually write him, no?
4: Kain Clades: A canonical descendant to Dirge, instead of a cold berserker often seen in the medieval setting, he is far more balanced, opting for sword and shield setups and supportive magics. He is much more of a sweet man, looking to just have a fun adventure. Pick this man if you want to write a lighthearted adventure with some fluff. In terms of sexual drive, I'd say it's low, but of course, romance can change that rather easily.
In terms of sexual kinks, since I know that no matter which story we select, we will likely write more than a few sexual encounters, I will write what I am and am not okay with here.
Firstly, I prefer MxF. I know it's sort of vanilla, but just because it's a penis and vagina doesn't mean you can't have some interesting stuff with it...just ask Ixius.
I'll admit, I'm a sucker for virgins. Something about even the narrative weight of it makes it more interesting for me.
Again, I prefer a story to go with the sex. Gratuity every now and then is fine, but it gets boring without any investment into it.
Rape is...well, not something I'm entirely fond of, but I am fine going a little out of my comfort zone for it. However, know full well that Ixius is a character that will never force himself on someone. Nor will Kain.
For anything else, don't be afraid to ask.
As for what I dislike, it's mostly the common stuff:
No snuff (death is a good narrative tool, but as a sexual kink just...just no.)
No blood.
No scat/urine.
I can adapt to most writing styles, though I often do third person, and I prefer novel style writing, meaning I expect some paragraphs and detail to go into the world. However, so long as you give me enough to go off of, I won't complain if you cannot muster much. We have those days, all of us are guilty of it. I won't force anybody to do three paragraphs if they can only think of one for the present situation, sometimes that happens.
Anyhow, if you are interesting in DMing one of these settings for me, and letting me play the characters in a world you have, then please send me a PM with the title being the genre followed by "RP," and I will respond once I am able to. Thank you for reading, and take care!
