Blocking threads

Is there a way to not see a thread? There are a few that mention subjects that I personally find uncomfortable that get updated almost daily and I'd really love to find a way to just not see them when I look through the requests for something interesting.

I support everyone's right to make threads about whatever they want, regardless of how they make me feel, but I'd still love to make some of them invisible to me so that they can't leave a bad taste in my mouth whenever I log on here.

The only way to do this is by blocking the author. You'll still see when the thread is updated, but you won't read the content unless you open it and click "Show this post".

Beyond that, you can't block an entire thread.
