"Goodbye Jo. . ."

Those were the last words that Meg uttered to Jo on the day, three years ago, when she and Sei had gone to the RAPT headquarters in Tokyo to take the corrupt organization down. Neither Jo nor Sei had been seen since that day, and both were believed to be dead as a result of the explosion. That was the very same day when she decided to stop crying, to stand up and fight to protect herself and the few other people in the world that she cared about. Rather than taking time away from dangerous jobs to learn how to fight and defend herself, she learned in doing those jobs. There was no more crying, or whining, or waiting for someone to come and save her. This had put her in considerable danger, and some situations where she could have lost her life, but she fought through them all.

She currently worked alongside Amy, Takane, and Leo now. The four of them were a rather close knit bunch, despite all of the fighting and bickering amongst them. Most of which was done in the name of fun.

About six months ago, after taking down an enemy cybot, Meg saw the one thing in the world that could scare her now. A glowing brain. RAPT was long gone, but those, those things were still very much around. She never had learned what their purpose was exactly, she only knew that those things were bad news. Luckily, she had been able to put a bullet through it before it could be taken away. Since that day, she and the others had been trying to figure out exactly what was going on and who was truly behind this all. They had tons of questions, but they needed answers. Unfortunately, the only person who really seemed to have all of the answers was most likely dead.

These days, Leo's garage served as a sort of 'base of operations' for the group, the truck that they used before had been destroyed in the final confrontation with RAPT. While he did his work, and Amy did her usual sneaking around the net, Meg usually spent her time alone cleaning her belt-fed revolver, or sleeping, or eating, or. . .well, sleeping. She understood after taking on all of these missions why Jo was always so tired.

Today was like any other day. Leo was working, Takane was bothering him, Amy was hacking into whatever held her attention for more than three seconds, and Meg was sitting in the 'living room' making sure that her gun was in working order when suddenly, the screech of tries against pavement filled the air. That wasn't anything out of the ordinary around these parts of town, just a minor annoyance to everyone at the most. But then came footsteps. Loud, deliberate footsteps, and a clicking noise that could only be the sounds of gun metal shifting and bumping together. Meg was quick to put the few parts she had take out of her gun back into place and have it ready to fire at any given moment.

As a soft thump was heard against the door, Meg raised her gun and aimed at the door. Her hand was steady, her expression calm and cool. She slowly rose up to her feet, her boots moving swiftly and silently, carrying her behind a nearby couch to use for cover.

When the door finally opened, four men rolled into the room carrying what seemed to be high powered rifles. New technology, she guessed, as she hadn't seen anything like them before. Just as she began to formulate a plan in her head to attack these men, a woman walked in the door. A very familiar looking woman.

"Sei. . ." Meg said, her voice shaky as she rose from behind the couch. Her weapon slipped out of her hand as her eyes fell on her friend and former employer. "You're. . .alive?"

"Meg, you look like you're doing well," Sei said, offering the younger girl a friendly smile.

Meg dropped the gun onto the ground and slowly approached Sei. The men who came into the building with her all aimed their weapons at the red head, preparing to open fire. They were stopped with a mere wave of Sei's hand. Once Meg was close enough, she began studying the woman's face closely. She had a few small scars on her face that looked as if they were still healing over but. . .those eyes, that voice. It was her. It was really her. Her eyes began to tear up as she wrapped her arms around Sei's middle, giving her a tight squeeze. It had been too long, and everyone thought that she was dead. The commotion in the 'living room' would certainly draw the attention of the others.
