Every year, the Duvalk family would come to the massive cabin. From the day the kids got out for winter break all the way to New Years day, the family celebrated the holidays. However the past few years... it's been different. Slowly but surely the family was tearing apart at the seams. It was subtle at first. An argument here, an argument there. However in recent years it's almost reached the breaking point. Hell last year, a large physical fight broke out after a certain 'discovery'.
For many members of the family, this would surely be the final year. The final get together...
... But fate has a funny way of doing things.

It had been a rather peaceful day. There was only a light snow. The massive cabin was nice and clean and the grandmother, Abigail, was hard at work making sure everything was in place. One by one, each member of the family had arrived and went through the usual motions. Strangely no fight had broken out, yet.
The youngest, Jake, was in one of the large bedrooms twiddling through some odd book. While the chubby 17 year old was known for being the 'Video Games and Comics' type of guy, he had a fascination in the occult. And lately he'd been largely interested in a special spell. In the book it was to call upon a spirit to help bring people together. All it took was to take a flower, sprinkle ashes of a burnt page, say the words and then hide it somewhere. For Jake, he knew the perfect place. In the living area, there was a small trap door underneath the rug. When no one was looking, he quickly dropped the flower in.
"Let's see. 'After the flower blooms, a dust like substance will began to subtly spread around the house. The full effect will begin at sundown and will get stronger over time.' ... Kinda wish you could expedite." Jake muttered, as the boy kept reading, he didn't see his sister enter the room... until she let out a quick 'boo' and grabbed his cheeks. "Gah~! A-amy... jesus..."
"Heheheheh!!! Sup dude!" The 21 year old smiled. Amy was more than happy to see her darling brother. She was dressed in her usual attire of punk rock-ish short shorts, black band t-shirt and denim jacket with black lipstick. "Me and Jessica just got here. Is mom and Dad here too?"
"Yeah pretty much everyone's here... Wendy showed up trashed as usual..." Jake groaned closing the book.
"Hey lighten up dude. It's not all that bad. Grandma's making her prime rib tonight. And looks like Chuck and Carla brought quite a few presents for you." Amy's face quickly frowned at Jake's rather 'violent' face when he heard Chuck's name. "Oh riiiiiight... Dude I know it's hard. But it'll be fine. Me and Jessica are here and so's Rosy. I mean yeah Steven and Kristy are here to but fuck those dudes. Didja bring your switch?"
"Y-yeah... and some extra joy cons."
"Woooo~! Dude I think I saw our old gamecube here to. Dude we should see if we still got Smash bros somewhere~!"
~~~Meanwhile~~~
"Damn is it... dustier than usual here?" Chuck muttered as he walked into the large shiney kitchen to see the silver haired Abigail at work. Chuck was your typical 'slouchy' dadbod type with red hair and a full beard and one of those super lame beer themed christmas shirts from walmart. "Hey mom! need som-"
"Chuck Travers Duvalk." A stern voice came from the older woman. "AS much as it pains me to say... after your fiasco last year, I almost hoped you wouldn't be here."
Chuck gulped rather loudly as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked on nervously. "I uuh I was drunk Mom. And to be honest if she was that willi-"
"She was Fifteen years old. If this family wasn't already tearing apart I would've called the police long ago. Just... try to be better... okay?" Abigail sighed tightening her bun and went back to work on that night's dinner.
