A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
Shadow Project
With the destruction of the first Death Star moral is high within the Rebel Alliance, leading to a series of daring raids on important Imperial targets. Gaining the Rebellion much need supplies and support. However when the Empire rallies the Rebels once again go into hiding, conduction hit and run attacks on poorly defended imperial systems and supply lanes. In the outer rim, a Rebel Base located on the world of Saleucami has been keeping track of imperial assets in the area. Their spy network has discovered that the Victory Class Star Destroyer, The Icon, has been making regular trips from the Boz Pity system, and has tracked their trail all the way to Taris. However despite their best efforts, the spies have failed to uncover the locations of either Imperial base. As time passes word begins to circle of new weapons research occurring within the Empire. Forced to action the Rebel commanders forge a daring plan to learn the locations of the Imperial bases, and strike a blow for the Rebellion.
Screamer sits down in the briefing room alongside the rest of Raven Squadron. Its been several months since the destruction of the Death Star, and a few weeks since the new Imperial offensive. Its a somber mood, the Imperials are on the move once again, and word of the new weapons project has spread like wildfire within the rebel ranks, and many fear a second Death Star. As the door on the far side of the room opens the rest of the pilots stand at attention as Orion Menuk, Commander of this Rebel Cell, enters the room. He's an older man, Mandalorian, and dresses in his cultures armor, the intimidating suit adding to the commanders presents. Entering behind him are the B6 Commandos, led by Lyra Nova, who quickly take their seats as well. Orion takes a moment to look over the people assembled in-front of him, giving a slight nod to the leaders of both squads. "As you all have undoubtedly heard, the Empire on the move once again, which means that so are we. We have learned that the Star Destroyer, Icon, has been making regular trips from the Boz Pity System to Taris, if the reports are to be believed. I want to know where, exactly, this ship is going, and more importantly, so does the rest of the rebellion." he says in a gravely voice, gesturing at the holographic display table in the center of the room, which quickly hums to life. It displays an image of the Icon, rotating slowly in the air. "The Icon is a old Victory Class Star Destroyer, and has seen service for some time now, we are going to retire it. We have 2 objectives on board, the cargo and the naive computer. The plan is simple, Raven Squad will engage the ship and knock out its weapons and engines, we've secured a shipment of Ion Torpedoes to help with this, and our local Nabula B Frigate, Titan, will be providing support via Grav-Field and communications jamming. With the ship disabled, Lyra and her commandos will board it and secure both objectives" he says, looking around the room for a second time.
"I'm no going to lie, its not going to be easy" he says, gesturing at the table again, changing the image to a map of the Icon's route. "We'll need to hit them in transit, and far enough outside of Imperial space to keep any support from arriving in time to help them. We've selected the Moon of Dxun as our staging area, as it is close to the Icon's route, and the system has a sizable asteroid field. When the Titan drags the Icon out of Hyperspace we'll need to strike fast, Raven squad, I want you to hit their Engines first, If they get out of range of the Grav-Field then this will all be for nothing. Lyra, I want you to go after the Naive Computer first, and secure the cargo second... If things get to hot, pull out and leave the cargo" he finishes. He checks the expression on everyone faces. In total Raven Squad was a 5 man unit, while the B6 Commandos were 13 strong. It was a small force, but the Rebels had done great things with less. Nodding his head Orion spoke once more, "Any Questions?"
