Hello World!

Or more appropriately, Hi everybody interested in a SW system roleplay.

I was very much contemplating DM-ing anything on a Forum, in English - as in promising myself to never do it. But what can I say? With a little time on my hands, and also horny as hell, I still find myself submerged in the Star Wars universe.

Anybody wanting to play anything in the movies, this is NOT that.
I will be following the timeline as much as possible, doing it canon and legends alike, but this Star Wars Galaxy is mostly mine... ours to play in.

I intend to use a system to keep the characters in hand (and to make sure they are somewhat at the same capabilities - just to make it possible to make the right kind of situation around them, with the right antagonists and protagonists), as of today, it looks like it will be d20 SAGA...

Please keep in mind, that I want the story to advance, to make it possible for the characters to advance too.

So, this means, you should be ready for it to be:
- THIS WEEK: Send us here a character idea (in this thread, but without numbers), maybe with a picture. OVER
- THIS WEEK: make up the full character with backstory and post it onto the Character Profiles thread I will be opening on monday, with the then posted rules.
- THIS MONTH: start of the roleplay, introductions, last moment changes and discussions - I will be opening an OOC thread for that, or you can PM me.
- While I am not sure how frequently can I make a long addition story wise, I will be counting on myself and the main players to be able to put out at least a good reply (if not a longer part) every 3 days. Yes, this means you will be looked over as the story goes on if not posting for four days. A week would always count as a full day passing in the game (while fights can last longer, we will be speeding up game time from time to time too)
- Worse, when in combat, it is one round every day... Yes, people, I will be online, and advancing the fight scenes, even if nobody posted - but of course would take everyone's character and possibilities into account, not wanting to kill anyone without just cause.

Now for the sweet carrot:
- While this is a heroic roleplay, it is also an erotic roleplay. And you not always need to be the heroes...
- I intend to keep going with the right people - and characters - as long as we could. Just as in a tabletop game, it is possible for a character to die heroically, or if unlucky, even more, we will have Bad Ends possibilities too. But if the player does lose a character, the next one starts with bonus...
- I want YOU, my dear future players, to BE players. While I have a story in mind, it is very possible to go on tangents or find your own story with me DM-ing the Galaxy around you. Just keep it together, as much as possible (or we would fall back to PM's or Skype on one-on-one)

What I need you to think about character wise:
- Bring only races you would want to have sex with. Just think, it is lookin/acting good enough to have consenting partners not from its own race? This is mainly to keep us others from turning away and loosing interest...
- We do not need lone warriors! Well, we do need at least one fighter type, but your character must find an useful place in the party. And it would be better if the characters would - and could - interact from the start (or even before).

A little back story:

19 ABY, Lantillies
The area is bustling with life. Almost like in the core words, people from all kinds of races found their jobs and living in the area. Not surprising, the system was a main focus point for the Republic, then the Empire. Fought over by Imperials and the Rebels. It not only hosted numerous bases but all kinds of facilities. From the biggest shipyards to enough people to fill big ships with competent people if needed.

Presently it is a stronghold of the New Republic.

The planet Lantillies is located in the Lantillies system, a star system in the Lantillian sector of the Mid Rim. The capital of the Lantillian sector, Lantillies fell within the boundaries of the region of space commonly known as the Kashyyyk Region. A bustling city-world, Lantillies is a major player in shipping and shipbuilding industries, as it is located along the Perlemian Trade Route and sit at the end of the Randon Run hyperlane that links Lantillies with Randon, the capital of the nearby Mytaranor sector.

The region of space around Lantillies have an average population of 10 to 100 billion sentients per inhabited planet...

Lantillians, as Lantillies' inhabitants is known, are primarily Human, though they are well-known for their disinterest in flashiness or elegance in starship design, as they place a priority on reliability. Lantillians are also rather open-minded about alien species, freely admitting them into their companies and guilds without prejudice.

The Galactic Civil War is at its height, 19 ABY, the Caamas document Crisis and the supposed return of Admiral Thrawn... Still, there is whispers of peace talks, and a threaty on its way...

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

Sounds interesting.

Character idea is a young Lantillian human who is sick of galactic republics and empires and instead is thinking that the regions of space should be independent and simply trade with one another but no centralised galactic bureaucracy is needed or wanted - those can be done on individual trade agreements.
Likely a skill based character (possibly force sensitive subject to how I feel when writing out a full background and creating the stat element of the character).

System (d20, d6): only very limited experience with d6 but happy to learn.

Any thoughts/concerns?

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

She has a lot of possibilities. Maybe start thinking about her background. As in family, friends, childhood, schooling, and what kind of skills she has access to. It would be making easier to later choose a class in SAGA - or spend the character generation points in d6.

What I would surely need in the party is someone with shady contacts and knowledge, and someone with adequate piloting skills - and maybe experience - to have a semi-legal piloting license.

Equipment wise everyone should be able to carry anything - and everything he/ or she / has. Or at least his or her droid, if any.

Also, playing a droid is also open to players... (but would need another player as the owner, or at least an NPC in that role)

About Force Sensitivity, it is possible to have, but it would need a very good background to be a Force User. But it is not impossible - even if a New Jedi would make this game... quite interesting.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

I only just got the core SAGA rules, but I'm already thinking of a Twi'lek Noble with a somewhat.... criminal bent :p Still, she would be something of an information broker, who would make contacts and deals as needed, but is not much of a combatant so much as a beautiful face/sage support character... though she would, if need be, use some ranged weapons. But for the most part, that is what she will have hirelings and minions for!

And personally, the Force holds very little personal appeal, mainly due to a lack of options for information gathering. Sure, there is some things, but for the most part, what can they do that she would not already be able to do? Besides, looking at Crime Lord as a possible Prestige Class down the line... and yes, that would almost entirely be for the Minion Talent

Edit; Been looking through Galaxies of Intrigue and Sum & Villainy. I can do the criminal contacts part just fine, and have so many ideas..... Most still related to minions sure, but hey.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

A possible and passable idea. After all, if the final party lacks something, there is always the possibility to get a droid or NPC to be able to do it. And if not, then they can buy someone's services... Or bartel for it. ;)

There is still time to get other people's interest, but the minimal number of players I would start for is three.
Also, it is possible to have only three leading character, others with less time bringing any sidekick or minion, or just letting us take over in their absence a little... (mainly me, to play as NPC, but friends, spouses, game-partners and others really knowing each others styles with an understanding and a little bit of trust can let others bring their characters along)

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

You can always look for some, but it depends on the place and situation what you can have... Sometimes you will have choices, sometimes not... It is possible to get someone go with you or work for you long term. But if it is more than "I ask my paid computer guru" then it is an NPC - meaning, I play him or her or.... And you also have to pay them somehow...

But almost anyone can have a minion, or two, if you are dominant enough and find a compatible NPC. :)

Talents and feats help as it is written. If we play d20 SAGA... Otherwise it pays better to play to the DM's kinks. ;)

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

True, but here is hoping Saga :D Planning on taking the Wealth and Connections talents right off the bat, or rather, Wealth at level 1 and Connections at level 3. 5000*Noble Level each time she gains a level will go a long way to helping the party with funding.... and if I save up, well, I can be the owner of the ship, anyone wish to be the pilot ;)

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

Well, not sure how well this will go, but I'm craving star wars roleplay and wanting to learn DnD. I have general knowledge of how things work in rpg style games, but will need help with specifics and stuff probably. On that note, I have no clue on d6 or d20, but perhaps with more info that I will be looking into, I can give an answer to that later.

I know people have different cares and opinions for something like this, but I would love to play a trandoshan. Not some gross, scummy heartless one but a surprisingly docile engineer, due to his past. He would have been adopted by a mechanic from his egg being stolen and put on the black market, and winding up in a middle-aged human's hands from it. That man raised him to who he was, and so while harboring the intimidating appearance of size and strength that his kind regularly sports, the engineer isn't a violent, coldblooded killer inside.

Being an engineer, after his 'dad' dies he went on to become a scrapper, and would have a legitimate piloting license. He's no ace but he knows the intricacies of ships and how to work them. Also loving to tinker he may have a droid companion, but I'll leave that for later if I do get accepted.

I kinda have my own drawing for this one so a little crummy, but it gets the appearance across. I understand I guess if being a trandoshan is shot down with different people having different opinions on the 'erotic' part (I wouldn't be going too crazy anatomy wise, and can keep it as normal as need down there).

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

Do you have any trait of them that makes you want to play a Trandoshan? Not that you should not play one, just asking. There are a lot of reptilian races out here in the Galaxy. But it is workable - unless we get a Wookie on board.

I will help you as much as I would help others with character generation. But you better learn the game mechanic fast. :)

Does anyone have problems with accessing google documents? Because there will be pictures and docs I would have to share.

Also, I am setting up the OOC thread...

And Rules.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer

Dancrilis, RPG Girl, you boht have lovely images!

I'd love to play, if you'll have me. I should normaly be able to keep up that pace (when playing. It can be a hell of a lot harder when running. Helps that I have some games dying right now.)

I'd prefer Saga System. Before I pitch a concept, are any of these girls futa? If so, I'll pitch a girl. Otherwise this sounds like a good group for a guy.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Tenshi, Tenshi, Tenshi.

You could not keep up playing this when we started it one on one. What makes you think you can keep up here?

But if you are very sure of yourself, you have insider knowledge of the starting situation...

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Hey Tenshi I would not be intending to go with a futa.

On google docs I should be able to access.

Think I have the makings of a backstory thought out also but can see how it meshes with others in the character page next week, I could see my character and RPG-Girl's working well together - taking jobs, hiring others to do the dirty work and paying them a small fraction the actual reward.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Speaking of futas, I can always present the opportunity as an NPC. Of course, I would love if you girls had the upper hand over her...

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

So, since I took Wealth as my 1st level talent, have 50,000 credits.... will be looking to see if thats enough for a down payment on a ship :p Have a few I'm looking at, but hey, good use of starting funds, if anyone wants to consider that ;)

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

I will be giving you some in-game suggestions in private.

For others, please keep thinking what you would want to have or what your character is wishing, he or she had, and please, share with me in private.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

I guess my like about trandoshan's is the general stigmas for and against then. Nobody wants them around but they sure as hell do when they think what they're getting is a mindless thug without moral conniptions. So on top of being a trandoshan, my character wouldn't even fit the 'role' most people would set out for him as a bodyguard or mercenary. I also like the look a decent amount, depending on the artist. I've seen pretty ugly representations and I've also seen good looking ones (mostly in the clone wars show).

But hey if no one cares for it I'm not going to force it on anybody. Also, if anyone else wants to involve futas that's fine by me. And I should be able to acccess google docs.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Need to ask, does the Connections Noble Talent and Friends in Low Places Talent stack? Because if so.... my character can get all your Black Market Licensed and Restricted goodies for normal price, Military for only double and Illegal for triple.... down from the *4/*5 multiplier.... damn, all I can say... I'll have the good stuff.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Lineage Talent Tree: Connections
You are able to obtain licensed, restricted, military, or illegal equipment without having to pay a licensing fee or endure a background check, provided the total cost of the desired equipment is equal to or less than your character level x1000 credits.
In addition, when obtaining equipment or services through the black market, you reduce the black market cost multiplier by 1.

FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES feat: Given enough time, you can dig up the right tool for the job.
Prerequisite: Trained in the Gather Information skill.
Benefit: Whenever you would acquire a license for a restricted or military object, you can substitute a Gather Information check for a Knowledge (bureaucracy) check. Reduce the black-market cost multiplier of such items by 1.

So, I would say that if you have the right friends (successfull check), and also make it known who you are, and from where - and they indeed have some connection to that, you can make the price go down extra. And while licensed or restricted items are easy to get this way without real bad repercussions, getting Military or Illegal goods would come with memories and notes made. Still costing less, but whoever helps you out would surely remember you - and what you bought.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Fair enough, and makes a good bit of sense. Still, can get somethings cheap, so I fulfill the black market contacts role of the group... and the fence! Have some things planned for the next few levels.....

Level 5; Unreadable Talent
Level 6; Natural Leader Feat, Skill Training (Persuasion) Feat
Level 7; Inspire Loyalty Talent
Level 8-17; Crime Lord Prestige Class- Attract Minion, Wealth of Allies, Impel Ally I, Impel Ally II, Attract Superior Minion*5

Thats one path/idea of course. Actually, given the Inspire Loyalty talent, I might just stay Noble.... because really, I'd have minions/followers anyway. Only thing I'd look for is to have additional followers, beyond the maximum of 3.... and minions can do background things as well.... choices, choices for the future :p

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

So here is Vella Kain (subject to changes as needed).

There is a lot of overlap with Daesha'vida but I think that should allow them to work well enough together.

Rolls for wealth/health and acquiring a licence are here: https://rolz.org/dr?room=SAGARolls

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

Is there a place online I could find the class stuff for a trandoshan (we're doing d20, right?), if I AM okayed to play as one? If people say no I can play something simpler I guess.

RE: [Star Wars] Privateer (GR/IC)

I have no issue with a trandoshan.

This isn't the best site http://www.starwarsrpgindex.com but it does have a list of seemingly everything and where that thing can be found (unfortunately it doesn't explain what the thing actually is).
